Please change the sentence the movie "Student of the Year" will release on 19th October 2012 to the movie released on 19th October 2012. Abkxander (talk) 05:01, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

...and another one!

So Alia Bhatt joins the long list of Bollywood actresses to have discrepancies regarding their age. Any thoughts people? Which one to use? Both 1991 and 1993 are published by reliable sources: this one for 21 and this one for 23.-- KRIMUK90  09:59, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

article states "These prime accomplishments have established her as one of the most promising newcomers in Bollywood.[1]" but the cited source does not say it.. neither does it list any such authority giving her any such positions as most promising newcomer etc This is against wikipedia editing guidelines for maintaining neutral-tone and is giving her biased better opinion against other new comers. Unless any authoritative study is provided as reason to justify this claim, its not fair

I have added the correct source. Thanks for pointing out the mistake. -- KRIMUK90  10:52, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
I have removed the hyperbole. The same single source has, "She became synonymous for gaffes, and Alia Bhatt jokes still trend on Twitter or Facebook every other day." I don't think that should be in the article either. We should have better, more serious, sources. --NeilN talk to me 13:18, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
Considering that to be a hyperbole is a very personal preference, especially when it is backed up by a very "serious" source. The fact that jokes on her went viral is also relevant to her article, and must be added. I shall do it shortly. We can't cherry-pick on what we think is serious, and what is not. If something about a person is published and is well-covered by leading sources, we must add it here. It's never about what one person thinks should go in here. -- KRIMUK90  14:54, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
I still consider the source you're using a puff piece used to support more puffery ("prime accomplishments") but won't argue further or revert again. --NeilN talk to me 15:00, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
OK. -- KRIMUK90  15:14, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
It's puffery and recentism, which is par for this article. It doesn't belong in the lede without additional supporting sources. --Ronz (talk) 15:31, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

Wrong Description About Alia Bhatt sister. Actual: In Paragraph about Alia Bhatt "Early Life", it has been mentioned Bhatt has a younger sister, Shaheen (born 1988).

Expected: Instead of younger it should be elder at Shaheen was born on 1988 and Alia on 1993.

Vandalism in the lead

With good citation about Alia Bhatt herself informing of her British Nationality, there has been some vandalism recently with some changing the lead to "Indian actress" or "Indian actress of British nationality", the latter being redundant (taking into account for example Selena Gomez, who is not Mexican of American nationality but simply American). Can we have a consensus to avoid future debates on this? Mousanonyy (talk) 20:23, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

I was skeptical about this initially, but I agree with you Mousanonyy. It should read "British actress". --Krimuk|90 (talk) 04:06, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

Nationality

If she's born in India then she's Indian. If she was born in UK then she's British-Indian. Then why is her nationality shown British. Anyone who can explain me all this. Anmolbhat (talk) 17:54, 23 December 2017 (UTC)

Well, according to the source (next to the nationality), she doesn't have the Indian citizenship (well, the source maybe outdated, but it is reliable). Heh, priceless - you ask "how is it gossip?", and post a url containing the word "gossip" as your source. You have your answer. There are plenty of places like Facebook, Twitter, Hello magazine, the celebrity gossip pages of newspapers, where this kind of thing is welcome. This. however, is an encyclopedia, and the content is WP:UNDUE and advised against by WP:BLP. Asking the same question repeatedly at different talk pages isn't likely to get you a different answer. Alia Bhatt was born in Mumbai. Yet, she is a British passport holder, and, therefore, does not have Indian citizenship (India does not allow dual citizenship). This is because her mother Soni Razdan is a British passport holder, as she was born in Birmingham, UK.

I still think that the first sentence of the article is very misleading. Maybe it should say: Alia Bhatt (pronounced [ɑ:ˈliːə bʱθ]; born 15 March 1993) is an Indian actress and singer who works in Hindi films. She is a British passport holder, and, therefore, does not have Indian citizenship.

The Karan Johar connection

I was reading the article and then moved to Johar's page and then to his company's ventures list and realised Alia Bhatt (aka Alia Johar) has done most of her films with his comapny. Shouldn't it be mentioned in the lead? I think it should be and it's very important to add that. Plus, there should be an entire section about this discussiing how she gets all Dharma films and how Johar asks other directors to cast her in their movies. She was cast in all her other movies after being recommended by Johar such as Highway, Udta Punjab, Dear Zindagi and Gully Boy. Tell me what others have to say about this.Krish | Talk 06:08, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

As if being Mahesh Bhatt's daughter making her an instant star wasn't biased enough. What is the equivalent word without considering relatives? --Kailash29792 (talk) 06:54, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Equivalent word is Krimuk (aka Wikipedia's Johar). --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:03, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
"True Kailash29792! Bollywood is such a biased place. Bhatt is not only getting all the "ready-made hits" but also content driven/performance oriented films. She got Best Actress Filmfare nomination for a sub-par performance in a masala potboiler and wins for just decent roles while the Chopra cousins couldn't get their nominations for their acclaimed performances in WYR, DDD and HTP. And, Bhatt had the audacity to say "I take risks", "I do diverse roles"......LOL. Is she talented? Of course she is but who isn't? Isn't Parineeti Chopra talented? I am not seeing KJO or any director casting her in those "performance heavy" roles. Sure Chopra took a year off for dumb reasons but again Johar has made sure to collect all the great/hit scripts for Bhatt. As far as I know Chopra was to do Udta Punjab (after PC rejected it) but since KJO is so powerful, Bhatt was ultimately cast. Same for Dear Zindagi. Bhatt admitted being "preferred" by KJO and SRK and replaced another actress. This is just unfair for the outsiders especially the actresses because KJO "likes" flop men with zero talent like Sidharth Malhotra, who is still working because of KJO. This is the height of Nepotism.Krish | Talk 07:27, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Ugh, you could find secondary sources on a meaningful dialogue that suggests so Krish, because again, we should add only what's reported out there and not report ourselves. Ms Bhatt might be doing a lot of Johar roles, but it should concern work ethic police (and not an encyclopedia writer) and when it does that's when an encyclopedia should acknowledge it. PS, i couldn't help but chuckle at the mention of Malhotra; dude does not have game xD, but again, that's my opinion and doesn't make him any less worthy of an encyclopediac article. VedantTalk 09:37, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
@Numerounovedant: I know it should not concern a wikipedia writer but it is still notable that Bhatt has done many films produced by Kjo and I am sure is already signed for the next 20 films under Dharma. LOL. She is currently doing all her four movies under Dharma (six if you count the fantasy trilogy) and is soon going to announce more films in the next few months. I am not saying we should label her "made famous by Nepo-King Kjo" but to just include at least a paragraph describing how she does all her films with Kjo and that he considers her "his" child. That's it. I am not saying that "his students" are not wiki-worthy. Plus, do you really think the media (Kjo's paid pimps) will write about her being the nepotism-born actor? Never. Kjo runs Bollywood, Filmfare and everything, which is such a shame because much more deserving actors never even got a chance to prove themselves and the rate at which Kjo is going, I don't think any new outsider ever will. Sidharth Malhotra is the worst "wooden faced" joker I have ever seen who is still working. Kjo's PR even claims that he does different "genres" of films but they forget to add that "he has been playing the same character in each one of them". LMAO.Krish | Talk 11:14, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Well there is this and this, but when you read them you'll also have to go through the likes of this and if one can come up with an objective, fair, and balanced paragraph on the bit then I don't see why that can't be added. The debate I'd out there and as long as everyone's voice is represented then why not? VedantTalk 18:05, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

Undue importance to nationality

I believe the current lead gives undue importance to her nationality and is confusing to an average layman reader. Since majority of her interest lies in India and she works in the Indian Movie Industry the lead should be changed to - Alia Bhatt is an Indian origin actor, singer and television personality, who works in Bollywood films, and currently holds British citizenship. The article on Akshay Kumar follows similar lead structure. Razer(talk) 14:58, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. If you believe this needs to change, please start an RFC and garner consensus to change it. Also, she is not entirely of Indian origin either, as her mother is half-German. --Krimuk2.0 (talk) 15:19, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
I don't think you understand the meaning of Indian Origin . if EITHER of their parents/ grandparents/ great-grandparents were born and permanently resident in India as defined in Government of India Act, 1935 and other territories that became part of India thereafter provided neither was at any time a citizen of any of the aforesaid countries .[2] Since her father is Indian, Alia Bhatt is undoubtedly a person of Indian Origin.
I can't find any previous consensus on the lead hence RFC is unnecessary. Taking a casual glance at the revision history of this page indicate WP:OWNERSHIP might apply here. Razer(talk) 07:04, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
Actually, do what you want -- add that atrociously written statement: Alia Bhatt is an Indian origin actor, singer and television personality, who works in Bollywood films, and currently holds British citizenship. There's absolutely no regard for logic or grammar. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:24, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
Why is she a television personality? Why do you say "currently holds British citizenship"? What is WP:CURRENTLY? You can rattle off bad-faith policies like WP:OWNERSHIP but don't know this? Not shocking. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:26, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
Look, I am just trying to obtain a consensus. After all, we are all here to build an encyclopedia. We can have difference of opinion but I am sure it can be sorted out. Are you open to British- Indian or some other lead which indicates an Indian heritage? Razer(talk) 07:35, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
Yes, we should be working "together". Accusing others of ownership, when they are trying to maintain the quality of the article, isn't the way to do it. Anyway, thanks for the reasonable tone now. How does, "Alia Bhatt is an actress and singer of Indian origin and British nationality, who works in Hindi films" sound? It's not ideal, and I'd appreciate other ideas, but does that work for now? Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:39, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
I will leave the exact wording to you as you are a major contributor to WP:FILM and know the MOS better than me. Yes this or any other lead which indicates Indian Heritage works for me. I am glad we could work this out , Cheers. Razer(talk) 07:45, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

IPA Pronunciation

The transcription for Alia Bhatt’s name isn’t valid according to WP’s guidelines for either English or Hindi. It currently links to the help page for Hindi and Urdu, but it uses several symbols that aren‘t in the key: /ɑː/ and /θ/. If we’re comparing it to the help page for English, /bʱ/ is missing. The pronunciation given for the name Bhatt has several issues: 1) it doesn’t contain a vowel, violating both English and Hindi phonotactics, and 2) it uses a dental fricative /θ/, which doesn’t match up with either the English spelling Bhatt (which implies /t/) or the Hindi spelling भट्ट (which implies /ʈʈ/). It sounds like /ˈaːliaː ˈbʱəʈʈ/ in the YouTube interviews I’ve found. Can someone confirm this?

Scope Row in Filmography section

Hi, Cyphoidbomb, Krimuk2.0, Atlantic306. Is it necessary to have the films scope-rowed in the filmography section, which Ved tandon seem to prefer? I don't see any scope row in the FA status Akshay Kumar filmography. Is there any guideline for this? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:44, 13 August 2019 (UTC)

Although many filmography sections have this formatting, I personally don't see any value to it. If anything, it makes the titles slightly more difficult to read. And while I haven't run the calculations, I wonder if the black and blue text on the shadowed background allows for WP:ACCESSIBILITY. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:04, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
@Cyphoidbomb: Yeah WP:ACCESSIBILITY. That was one of my primary concerns. I can't see it properly. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:08, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
Doing a quick check (and I don't know if the HTML background color is 100% correct), it looks like it passes accessibility, but I still don't see the aesthetic value. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:18, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
It just doesn't look clear. Dark background makes the text/numbers less readable. There's a reason why vehicle number plates are mostly of light background color. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:46, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
To be honest, I don't see a problem with either option. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 18:22, 13 August 2019 (UTC)

Remuneration issue

Despite her last release Kalank terribly bombing in the box office, how is she the highest paid actress? Gully Boy was entirely on Ranveer's shoulders with Sidhant Chaturvedi's supporting help, on contrast Alia's performance was limited to not more than an extended cameo. So how is Alia Bhatt the highest paid actress in 2019 with a mega-flop and a limited side-kick film? Is 2 year old Raazi film still the playing factor here in renumeration?

You can answer me @Krimuk2.0 here for the "subjective" points I raised in the editing summary.

"Firstly this is uncited. Secondly, on what parameters do you rank salaries of celebrities? Thirdly, if it is Forbes, let us be clear that celebrities dont openly disclose their remunerations and Forbes rank celebrity salaries on basis of their "Popularity index" which is honestly very subjective and disputedly not sufficient manner to calculate salary. An actress-producer like Deepika can very easily pay herself higher than other actresses in her productions irrespective of films success"

Even Kangana sent legal notice to Forbes for inaccurate calculation of remuneration on mere speculation of subjective popularity and not actual wages. DarpSinghh (talk) 05:54, 26 February 2020 (UTC)

@Krimuk2.0 You didnt reply so far. Plus you don't let outsiders edit. DarpSinghh (talk) 15:35, 27 February 2020 (UTC)

No mention of recent backlash?

Why is there no mention of recent backlash that Bhatt has received from public and media publications? An entire section should be created adding each and every information such as how Bhatt has been a beneficiary of over the top Nepotism, stealing roles from other actresses by chasing directors while those actresses are still attached, her connection with Johar (which I had added few years ago after discussion but was secretly removed by the contributor of the article) and how Johar is single handedly responsible for her career. I am shocked to find that those additions were removed without any discussion and the lack of inclusion of new development. NOTE I raised this issue on 18 July, Krimuk2.0 reverted me with a personal attack which I reported at ANI but nothing happened. So how the hell a major and important happening with an overwhelming media coverage to a public figure's life is still not added? It does not make sense. So I would like to invite other editors for a discussion Kailash29792, SNUGGUMS, Numerounovedant and others. There are thousands of sources but not one mention in the articles related to the incident that is still evolving. Here are some lost followers following backlash, another one.Krish | Talk To Me 09:11, 31 July 2020 (UTC)

I say include it, but try writing from a neutral point as much as possible. If Krimuk reverts, let him throw his explanation here. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:12, 31 July 2020 (UTC)

Kailash29792 I am not going to add anything unless and until we reach a conclusion of what to include because the stuff added in 2016 or 2017 through a discussion in this article was removed by the said editor without asking anybody.Krish | Talk To Me 11:11, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
Stuff that should be included in the article apart from the recent event:
  • Her majority films being Dharma
  • Her mentor Karan Johar whom she herself called father
  • The outrage when she won Best Actress for her 2 minutes cameo role in Copy Boy.
  • Even reviews for her panned performance in films like Kalank is far from negative but positive. It needs correction.
  • How Karan Johar helped steal Highway following her trashy lame debut acting and then films like UP and DZ were snatched from other actresses (she herself has accepted).
  • How she asks Directors to cast her even when other actresses are attached to those projects, the privilege and abuse of privilege that only comes when you are born with silver spoon and additionl golden spoon when enchanced by another powerful mentor.Krish | Talk To Me 11:18, 31 July 2020 (UTC)

Your constant personal attack towards me is not not going to stop me from voicing my POV. Plus, Wikipedia rules say "If an event in a artist's life received considerable media attention, it should be included in the article whether it is praise or brickbats. If there are enough sources to support the things I listed above, I don't see what's the problem? But what you are saying is that I cannot and should not say anything on a matter that has been in the news since last one month and is still getting high media coverage, scrutiny and attention. The main conflict here is basically on 2 main images i reckon

The 2014 This one and the one which Ravensfire installed recently or a editor before him.

The 2018

As she hasn't aged at all in these 2-3 years the one from The 2014 looks better as it doesn't look promotional at all compared to the one of The 2018 Additionally The 2014 one is more face centric than this one. I will go with The 2014 one, Please discuss more and establish a consensus. Again, I strongly prefers The 2014 and it fits WP:MOS the best out of all options available.Holy Contributor 92 (talk) 01:02, 14 April 2021 (UTC)

Let's be accurate here, Holy Contributor 92, that 2018 image has been in the lead for over a year. It's not "installed recently". Visually, 5 years for someone as young as Bhatt do produce changes and I think there are visible changes in her appearance as she matures. There are probably other images on commons to review. Ravensfire (talk) 14:24, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
Agree with Ravensfire, there are visible changes in her appearace, so there's no need to use an older one when newer ones are available. I propose to use the 2020 pic. It's recent, face-centric, and less promotional looking. -- Ab207 (talk) 05:34, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

RRR role was a cameo only

Not able to see significance of mentioning brief cameo role in RRR in the profile summary. Director himself doesnt even consider her as supporting actress - very clear about cameo part.

Source: https://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/bollywood/ss-rajamouli-on-alia-bhatt-and-ajay-devgns-roles-in-rrr-they-are-cameos-i-am-not-going-to-cheat-the-audience-about-it-7694758/lite/

Its not as if Alia found critical acclaim, any award nominations, film success of meaty role, debut into South industry, or profitability by being a producer.

RRR’s cameo was just to bring Bollywood diversity angle in that Telugu film to rope Hindi speaking audience especially with Ajay Devgn - but again cameo brings no career impact for Alia professionally even if she claims “Alia’s RRR got Oscar nomination”. DarpSinghh (talk) 20:22, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

Wasn't credited as a cameo in the film, and was third-billed after the two male stars. Plain and simple. Plus, the phrase "brief role" appears for a reason. Krimuk2.0 (talk)

Birthplace

@Krimuk2.0: About the recent additions of the birthplace as Bombay. I see the TOI source mention the time period of the Bombay riots as the time of her birth (birth place is not explicit therein) and the recent Wired interview explicitly lay out India as her birthplace.

While prudency would require us to make from this a birth place of Bombay, we should be wary of WP:SYNTH. I remember seeing this article dubiously citing a circular source and adding London as a birthplace (likely based on her mother's), before I had to remove it. So I am wary of additions which are not explicit. Gotitbro (talk) 17:23, 9 August 2023 (UTC)

  • Also, about citizenship does anyone have an idea of how reliable thecompanycheck.com is? It appears to be pulling company data from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs but has some additional information like citizenship and residence. Take Alia Bhatt for example:

Alia Bhatt, director with MASS CINE PRODUCTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED, is registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), bearing DIN 06420731. She is an Indian staying in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Alia Bhatt is currently associated with 7 Companies and is director with Eternalia Creative & Merchandising Private Limited, Mass Cine Productions Private Limited, Once Upon A Time Film Productions Private Limited, Eternal Sunshine Productions Private Limited, Eternalia Media Private Limited, Ed-A-Mamma Foundation, Eternal Sunshine Media Private Limited.
The total paid-up capital of all companies where Alia Bhatt holds active positions is ₹218,077,740.00.

But the MCA does not contain this data publicly, see this for e.g. The Company Check might be pulling this information from the MCA as a commercial user but I am not sure
But discrepancy is shown by the public company data for her UK branch of the Indian company which lists her nationality as British; though this maybe atleast a five years old.
If the validity of The Company Check can be established as for sourcing of the citizenship, it would greatly settle citizenship tos and fros that keep happening across Bollywood and other Indian cinema articles and even other Indian bios generally (at least for those having corporate establishments in India which is quite a few). Tagging @Fylindfotberserk, Kailash29792, Lancepark, and Ab207: and also Krimuk of course for comments. Gotitbro (talk) 18:04, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
"Alia came into this world in 1993, around the time Bombay was burning. The city was engulfed in riots" - clear case of OR if used to establish her birthplace. Those riots were obviously notable and Mr. Bhatt may be recalling that only since his daughter was born that year. BTW, my father, being a cricket fan, used to say I was born when India won the Cricket World Cup held in England. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:51, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
I am not sure if the reliability of The Company Check can be established, as it appears rather ambiguous. But as per this gov.uk register of Companies House, her nationality is listed as British. Perhaps this registry can be a more reliable source in this matter. Lancepark (talk) 20:03, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
@Lancepark: Yes, UK Companies House is what I linked above as a comparative; it appears to be one of the only public companies register which provides the citizenship and occupation of directors. At this point I cannot verify The Company Check for its citizenship claims and would not use it. The Companies House can be used as a generally reliable source, being an official register short of any discrepancy shown by other reliable sources or the bio subject themselves. Gotitbro (talk) 13:06, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
I understand the concern, which is why I added the additional source in which she says that she was born in India. But I understand that it doesn't say Bombay explicitly, so if it goes against policy, please feel free to revert. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 06:37, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
I think you can simply retain India as the birthplace in the ib and body as that much is certain, but Bombay would need to go. Gotitbro (talk) 10:41, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
@Krimuk2.0: On a side note, did the reply option automatically alert you above or do I need to specifically tag like I have done here. Gotitbro (talk) 10:42, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

Filmfare OTT Award (Lead mention)

I think it is lead worthy because first its given by Filmfare and second these films can't compete in the main awards because they were directly released on OTT platform. Some of these films and performances could've won the main award if this award didn't exist but they ended up winning here, so is it even fair to not mention it like the main award? Moreover, it is mentioned in the leads actors like Konkona Sen Sharma, Taapsee Pannu, Amruta Subhash, Manoj Bajpayee, etc. And of course, none of the categories will have their own wikipedia pages since it was just started in 2020 during Pandemic when OTT became a thing in India. JabSaiyaan (talk) 07:21, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

Alia has won very many other awards as well. We can't mention all of them in the lead (as the lead is for the most notable films and awards of her career), so why this? Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:23, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
So has Konkona Sen Sharma? Just because some actor won many awards we shouldn't mention the other credible awards they've won? It is a Filmfare Award after all. The trophy and the publication who's giving these awards is same. Even the winners of Filmfare Short Film Awards have their wins mentioned in their leads JabSaiyaan (talk) 07:30, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
What does Konkona Sen Sharma have to do with Alia Bhatt? By that logic, Katrina Kaif has her Zee Cine Award mentioned in the lead, but Alia does not. So what? Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:47, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
Why not? She's also an actor with her own wikipedia page who has won many awards, in fact more than Alia. Isn't same rule applied to all wikipedia pages? Talking about Katrina Kaif, she hasn't won any major acting award, she has no Filmfare or National Award to her credit so obviously they'll mention something else for her. change the part of the page section personal life "prithviraj chavan" to "Prithviraj Chauhan". reason: spelling mistake issue as the mentioned figure is an important historical figure of India. Lucifer Lawliet (talk) 20:13, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

Not done The person named to is not the important historical figure you are referring to. RegentsPark (comment) 20:42, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
I tried digging into the matter a bit more, and the reason why I still stand by my edit request is because the clip from 'Koffee with Karan' shows her spell it as Chauhan, not Chavan, which is the official name and pronunciation of the politician and former CM of Maharashtra and I could not find any official source that explicitly states or clarifies Alia's statement as to whom she meant: the historical king Prithviraj Chauhan or the then chief minister of the state of Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan, the 17th CM of the state. The article very likely, contains speculation to somewhat justify Alia's momentous blurting out of the name, and it may be an attempt to hide a facet of lack of knowledge that Bollywood actors and actresses have displayed continuously about their own country and culture. Reversal

Hi @Krimuk2.0, (tbh) I still feel a need to trim this article while (I think) I understand why you've (partially) reverted my edit (I didn't explicitly explain it in the edit summary) and (I know) I'm ignorant: imo, it's fine to remove "as a child" in "After making her acting debut as a child in the 1999 thriller film Sangharsh ..." cuz through the film's release year (1999) and her birth year (1993), readers (who know basic math) would easily understand the fact that Bhatt started her acting career as a child—which (probably) also applies to "at age five" in "Her first acting role was at age five in her father's production venture Sangharsh (1999) ..." as well as "a then-12-year old" and "a then-20-year old" in "... Bhansali cast a then-12-year old Bhatt opposite a then-20-year old Ranbir Kapoor to make their debuts in his film Balika Vadhu ..."—and leads should usually be short; ", with whom she has a daughter" in "She is married to actor Ranbir Kapoor, with whom she has a daughter." cuz the fact that she has a daughter with Kapoor isn't significantly covered in the body (MOS:LEADNO says, "According to the policy on due weight, emphasis given to material should reflect its relative importance to the subject, according to published reliable sources. This is true for both the lead and the body of the article."). Thedarkknightli (talk) 10:20, 13 July 2024 (UTC)

None of these are major issues to fight over. They might be your preference, but I don't think mentioning her acting debut "as a child" or the fact that she has a daughter affects MOS:LEADLENGTH in any way whatsoever. Additionally, mentioning the age gap of Kapoor (an adult) and Bhatt (then a minor) is pivotal to what the plot of Balika Vadhu is, and I see no reason for its removal.
