Hey, I'm going to be reviewing this article. Expect comments by the end of the week. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 14:49, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and lead

[edit]
 Done
  • Also don't use <br> per the rules on the template.
I've changed them to plainlists. Is this OK?
  • The use of "set to" in the first paragraph feels repetitive.
I've replaced the second instance of "set to" with "will".
  • The first sentence in the second paragraph seems short. Try combining it with the next one.
 Done
  • That being said, the first sentence in the last paragraph actually feels a bit long.
I've removed some of it.
  • The last two sentences also need to be, either included in the body or sourced.
I've removed most of them.

Development

[edit]

Conception and writing

[edit]
  • Remove the comma after "Polynesian mythology".
 Done
  • "perspective" → "perspectives"
 Done
  • Add (2014) after What We Do in the Shadows.
 Done
  • Is the mention of Waititi's joke necessary?
Probably not; removed.
  • "gender-based theme" → "gender-based themes"
 Done
  • "resume navigation" → "resume voyage navigation"
 Done

Voice

[edit]
  • Is there a word missing between "directors hundreds"?
Yes, but seeing as there's no source, I've removed it.
  • Quotes should always have references so recite the reference after "it is".
 Done
  • "favourite" → "favorite" (consistency)
 Done
  • Move the reference after "brave" to the end of the sentence.
 Done
  • "that s" → "that's"
 Done
  • Again, each quote needs a reference, so recite certain sources.
 Done
  • Add a comma after "directors, animators".
 Done
  • Add a comma after "Temura Morrison".
 Done
  • In this section, and in others, change "..." to "[...]" (visually appealing)
 Done

Personality and design

[edit]
  • Recite after each quote.
 Done
  • "colour" → "color" (consistency)
 Done
  • There seems to be a lot of trivia in these paragraphs, especially the last one.
I've removed the last paragraph and tried to remove unnecessary details.
  • "like Cravalho does" → "as Cravalho does"

International versions

[edit]
  • "under way" → "underway"
 Done
  • Each performer in the table needs a reference.
I've added references to some of the performers in the table but could the film possibly be used as a primary source for the performers? If not, I'll removed the unsourced entries.

Appearances

[edit]
  • Don't just copy-and-paste summaries from other articles. Try paraphrasing and trimming the length of each summary.
I've tried to paraphrase and trim some of it.
 Done
  • Add year dates after Wreck-It Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet.
 Done
  • Remove the "Miscellaneous" header, and make "Merchandise" its own section.
 Done
  • Add commas after "media franchise" and "Disney Story Central".
 Done
  • "Moana also" → "Moana has also"
 Done

Reception

[edit]
  • Try removing the use of quotes per, and with the help of, WP:RECEPTION.
I've tried to reduce the quotes.
  • "criticise" → "criticize" (consistency)
 Done
  • "criticising" → "criticizing" (consistency)
 Done
  • Specify where Moana was nominated for "Best Animated Female".
I'm not sure what you mean by this but I've added that the nomination was from the Alliance of Women Film Journalists.
  • Specify which Teen Choice Award Cravalho won.
 Done

References

[edit]
  • Archive all archivable references (either manually or with this tool).
 Done
  • Mark references from Vanity Fair with "|url-access-limited".
 Done
  • Mark references from The New York Times with "|url-access-limited".
 Done

I've tried to follow your suggestions. Apologies for the long wait. Pamzeis (talk) 06:29, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A drive-by comment regarding criterion 6a: The lead image, File:Moana Disney.webp, needs to be significantly smaller (something like 233 x 429 pixels, in place of its current 868 x 1600 size) to meet the subsidiary non-free content guidelines at WP:IMAGERES. Probably the reason that this has languished for months without the bot doing it automatically is its nonstandard webp format. —David Eppstein (talk) 22:48, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

– To be WP:CONSISTENT with other Disney characters. The franchise is usually included in the name of the character. Shwcz (talk) 11:41, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - The only reason why many of the others say "(Disney character)" is because, for a lot of Disney's catalog of films, they're often based on an existing fictional story, which would make things like "Cinderella (character)" or "Snow White (character)" ambiguous as heck. However, that extra bit of disambiguating is not needed for these two. Paintspot Infez (talk) 00:45, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Just to be known, we are having a discussion about titles like this at WikiProject Disney. ― Kaleeb18TalkCaleb 23:01, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
