Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello BiHVolim! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 708 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

November 2011

[edit]

Your recent editing history at Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team shows that you are in danger of breaking the three-revert rule, or that you may have already broken it. An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Breaking the three-revert rule often leads to a block.

If you wish to avoid being blocked, instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You may still be blocked for edit warring even if you do not exceed the technical limit of the three-revert rule if your behavior indicates that you intend to continue to revert repeatedly. How to properly warn someone?

[edit]

Hello, Thanks for your feedback. I would like to know exactly how to warn someone who has not only vandalized a public page but has gone further to do damage on my personal page: Sajo10 is the same user as an ip address I mentioned before. Please check Revision history of User:BiHVolim. Thanks (talk) 13:58, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

I see that Sajo10 has a history of unhelpful editing, and also that it looks very likely that 213.112.123.66 is the same person. I also see that Sajo10 has received a very large number of messages over a long period about copyright issues and creating unsourced articles, but, as far as I can see, none about vandalism, and the IP talk page has never received any messages at all. I am also very surprised, in view of the string of messages to Sajo10 about problems, that he/she has never been warned about the possibility of a block. As for vandalism, though, I cannot see any evidence of that. Some of the issues appear to be differences of opinion between you and the other editor, rather than vandalism issues (for example, disagreement about such matters as whether to include accents on non-English names of people). Other differences involve details about scoring statistics, and only someone with a detailed knowledge of the subject could possibly be able to see at a glance whether that is vandalism or not. If it is vandalism, then you need to explain why, if you want an administrator to take any action. You can't expect an administrator who knows nothing about the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team to spend hours looking up their history to decide whether there is vandalism involved.
The first thing to do is to contact the editor involved to explain your concerns. The place to do that is on the relevant talk page, either User talk:Sajo10 or User talk:213.112.123.66, as the case may be. There are ready-made message templates at Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace to use for various kinds of disruptive editing such as vandalism. However, it looks to me as though in this case it may be a matter of a good faith editor who does things you disagree with, in which case giving a vandalism warning will be unhelpful, and you should take the trouble to write your own message explaining why you disagree, rather than using a templated message. If the other editor thinks that what he or she is doing is right, then no matter how much you disagree, nothing useful will be achieved by saying "stop vandalising": you need to explain why you disagree. If, on the other hand, there really is vandalism, then it is a subtle kind of vandalism that is not obvious to an outsider (such as me). In that case it is necessary to explain why it is vandalism, so that if and when the case needs to be considered by an administrator, it will be clear to that administrator what the problem is. Therefore I strongly advise you to explain on the relevant user talk page what the problem is, whether or not it is vandalism.
You may also find it helpful to look at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:44, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for that absolutely helpful response. I will have to re-read and give it a good go. Cheers once again. (talk) 10:58, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Unbeaten runs

[edit]

Just because one article has an example of a particular type of content does not mean that all similar articles should have the same content. Spain jointly holds a world record for the longest unbeaten run in international football; what does BiH hold? Either way, neither page should have a full list of all their opponents in their unbeaten run. By all means add some useful stats to the BiH page, but no unnecessary puff please. – PeeJay 21:25, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Iran national football team

[edit]

Thank you for your help in editing our pages. Could you please help me with the Iran national football team page? Under our recent call-ups, I've added our most recent starting XI. However, we used a 4-2-3-1 formation with Nekounam & Haghighi being the central midfielders, Jahanbakhsh a right winger, Dejagah an attacking mid, Shojaei a left winger, and Ghoochannejhad a striker. Once again, thank you so much.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Munib Ušanović requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Old results on national team pages.

[edit]

Hi,

I've been removing old results I've come across on national team pages as per the consensus of only keeping the past year. You undid my first edit on Bosnia claiming why leave only one result in 2014, which I then removed too. You then undid this edit too, claiming that other team pages have old results too. Yes I am aware of that, and getting around to it, but one is NOT dependent upon the other. Therefore I will re-remove old results from Bosnia now and hopefully it'll stay removed.

Je li baš potrebno da neke stvari premještaš sa stranice fudbalske reprezentacije na zasebnu, tipa najvećih pobjeda ili kapitena? File:Croatia football federation.png

[edit]

Hi BiHVolim. File:Croatia football federation.png usage ws discussed before at Wikipedia:Non-free content review/Archive 69#File:Croatia football federation.png and the result of the discussion was that the file should only be used in Croatian Football Federation and removed from the other article where it is being used per No. 17 of WP:NFC#UUI. Similar files and similar usages have been discussed before at NFCR/FFD and the result as generally been to keep in the federation/association article, but remove from the individual team articles.

The file was discussed again at Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 January 5#File:Croatia national football team badge.png and the result was keep, but that had to do with deciding which of two files to delete. The closing admin Explicit is the editor who removed File:Croatia national football team badge.png and they did not add the file that was kept to Croatia national football team, which I'm assuming they would've done if they felt the usage was NFCC compliant. I think it might be agood idea to ask Explicit to clarify their close, so I will post something on their user talk. -- Marchjuly (talk) 14:26, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again BiHVolim. I asked Explicit at User talk:Explicit#Clarification request to clarify their close to the aforementioned FFD discussion and their response was that the close of Wikipedia:Non-free content review/Archive 69#File:Croatia football federation.png is still binding and that the file should not be re-added to "Croatian national football team" or " Croatia national under-21 football team" without achieving a consensus, which seems to mean a review of the close per WP:DRV or perhaps per WP:CLOSECHALLENGE. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:41, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

transfered for reference PD-Bosnia and Herzegovina

[edit]

Can you advise what the best free license is to use here to ensure file is kept? RBiH and BiH are two different countries. Will I be able to use the correct license to keep the file from being deleted? Can I move this file to commons stamp. BiHVolim (talk) 20:34, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No free-license for stamps from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Until 2002, Yugoslavia copyright act from 1978 was in force (both in RBiH and BiH), see PD-Bosnia and Herzegovina, so this stamps will be copyright free 50 years after death of author. --Smooth_O (talk) 10:29, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Dragan Jović has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about non-notable football manager who hasn't managed a club in a fully-pro league. Article also doesn't satisfy the general notability guideline.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I reverted your most recent edits to Sarajevo. Because you left no edit summaries it was difficult to figure out what you were doing, but it appears you were increasing the size of the images. Please note the standard image size is 220px, per MOS:IMAGES. Images which are vertically long can be resized using "upright". Thank for your understanding. Magnolia677 (talk) 16:28, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do we really need 100 images on that page? Bosnian war pages exist with all relevant images. Do not need every single park image mentioned. Every new modern building. Thanks for reverting and wasting my time. You should have been a little more selective instead of reverting all. Some images can stay, but not all. BiHVolim (talk) 20:59, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
