Need some help

I see from your userpage that you administrate JoCopedia. (This seems to be the best way to get your attention somehow .-.) Looking at its Recent Changes, you seem to be the most important active user there, and I need some help with it. I've been trying to create an account there, and when I do, it gives me an error message. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks, CondenserCoil (talk) 21:37, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

gee it's such a sad wiki/recent changes list. anyway, thanks for letting me know about this. we recently implemented a lot of new anti-spam stuff, so there are probably some problems as a result of that. how long have you had this problem? if you're using an ip/email address that has already registered an account on the wiki within the last few months, that might be why you can't now. it might be something more simple though. i'll make sure account creation isn't disabled in the local settings or anything (though i don't have direct access, so that might take a while). i don't know what wikipedia's policy is on the topicality of talk page messages, but if this discussion doesn't suit standards then feel free to email me (my email address is listed here (not sure why but i don't feel like listing it here as well)). i was going to suggest that you just leave a note on my userpage on jocopedia, but... ~ Boomur 22:47, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi Boomur, I really appreciate the refs you added to Put Your Hand Inside the Puppet Head! I wasn't entirely sure it would survive an AfD, but the refs you added from reliable sources should put it across the line. No problem! likewise, I appreciate your creating the page — I agree that (in addition to being a really swell song) "Puppet Head" had a lot of significance for the band, just as much as many of their singles. My, you are absolutely right-- and I'm quite sorry! Typically (especially with musicians), I find fan sites to be quite well written. Normally I take fan-generated text and completely restructure it, but I must have *seriously* blanked with Join Us. This is indeed 100% your work and I will be much more careful from now on. As for now, please accept my apology and this virtual dessert. Great job on keeping TMBW up to date and well written. inre Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (film)

Yes, the topic of the planned film is getting and will likely continue to get lots of coverage, but when considering planned films we look to the applicable guideline and consider whether or not that coverage gives us anything solid about the film itself... casting, production, plot, etc. To be fair to our readers, I think a temporary redirect to either J.K. Rowling or the article on the 2001 book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" by that author (and where this adaptation IS already written about), is a valid consideration. The arguments about how the film topic might become supremely notable have a bit of merit, but I think it logical that we send readers for now to where it makes sense under policy, guideline and essay to keep readers informed. Grading

Hello Boomur, I would like to thank you personally for grading Where U Been? (song) and I Do It (2 Chainz song). In your opinion do other articles I created such as All Me (Drake song), Like Whaaat, Forbidden Fruit (song), Rich As Fuck, Ali Bomaye or Heaven (Jay-Z song) meet the C-class criteria? If any of them do, I would really appreciate you upgrading them accordingly. For the ones that might not, any advice on ways to improve them to meet it would be appreciated. no problem! I've been going through unassessed Songs articles and I just seem to keep happening upon yours! I'll take a look at the ones you linked and try to give feedback; I would try to assess them for B-class too but I'm not the most experienced grader. I'll make a note and maybe I can revisit them in the future. Also, while I'm totally happy to take specific requests for assessments, you can leave a note at WT:SONGS if you want someone else to have a look, too! As a general note I think your articles are pretty solid, save for a few typos/little language issues (which is understandable given the number you've created), so I've been trying to make a few copyedits here and there. Populating Template:Science commemorative events

Sure, no problem! In an encyclopedia with Wikipedia's popularity, it's important that even minor problems are dealt with. Some users spend the majority of their time on typo-fixing and copy-editing, both of which are Noble Deeds. @Acabashi: hi, thanks for the note. however, i'm not entirely sure why you edited the page the way that you did. for one thing, i don't see why the karanam caste should fit under people. although it describes a group of people, it does not name a particular person. furthermore, MOS:DABSEEALSO suggests placing possible misspellings under the See also heading, so why shouldn't Karna appear there? ~ Boomur 15:21, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

Flood update

Hello Boomur: as promised, I've done some digging into the UK reviews for this album. It appears that it was released in the UK on March 5, 1990, although I can't confirm that 100%. "Birdhouse in Your Soul" was released as a single in the UK on January 26, 1990. I've found the original reviews from all five major UK music publications of the time: as you can see, they were all generally very favourable, with the exception of Melody Maker.

"Flood contains all the elements that characterised their first two albums; that is the 19 tracks here are a weird and wonderful varied combination of the zany, trivial, witty and wacky, delivered with a spritely foot-tapping ease that belies their bizarre subject matter". Jerry Smith, NME, March 10, 1990, p. 36 – (8/10)

"The sole attributable reason for the duo surviving beyond the engaging novelty stage is that their (collective) ear for a tune prevails over the characteristically nasal vocal delivery and overt tinkering with gimmickry... @Daniel-B0ise: hi, dermatology isn't a topic i'm completely familiar with, and it seemed to me like the articles had conflicting information, which was why i reverted your edit. i assumed that if digital dermatitis and dermatophilus congolensis were the same condition, they would not be separate articles. my impression is that dermatophilus congolensis is a type of digital dermatitis that can be called strawberry foot rot, and therefore it's not correct to say that all digital dermatitis is strawberry foot rot, which was suggested by your link. in addition, the link was not formatted correctly. you can check out Help:Link for info on how to do internal wikilinks. ~ Boomur 21:15, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
