Your GA nomination of Katherine Clark

The article Katherine Clark you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Katherine Clark for things which need to be addressed. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Antone S. Aguiar, Jr., you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Edward King (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Stub sorting

Hello Designate/Archives. Thank you for tagging an article as a stub. I noticed that you used the {{stub}} template. In the future, it would be greatly appreciated if you could sort the article to a subcategory by using one of these templates instead. For example, you can use {{US-novelist-1960s-stub}} for an American novelist born in the 1960s. Of course, if you can't find a proper category, you can always use the {{stub}} tag and someone else will sort it for you, or you can propose a new stub template or category here. Thanks!

John Tyler

I'd like to discuss with you getting Tyler back to FAC. I think it could be done without a lot of time and effort, and I'd like to work with you on that.--Wehwalt (talk) 21:41, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

We can talk about it here, if you like? Would you like me to join in and help out in getting it ready for FAC, and as a co-nominator there? I have borrowed most of the main resources from the library, and have access to online resources for journals and the like? In either case, you'll have my support at FAC, I was impressed by the article two years ago.--Wehwalt (talk) 09:30, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
That would be great, and please co-nominate it. I'll jump in and help when I can. I won't be able to borrow the books until Friday but I can do some copyediting in the meantime. —Designate (talk) 13:10, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
I've spruced it up generally with special attention to the 1840-1841 time frame. I still need to beef up the legacy, and the lede needs drastic cutting. You should look it all over. You know the material.--Wehwalt (talk) 21:57, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
Great work, you've really been at it. I'll look over it. —Designate (talk) 22:11, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
I saw you worked on it. It's not perfect, but it's good enough to start the peer review process in my view. It could use more images, and I'm not happy with the legacy section. Possibly we could make the clarification through precedent of the presidential success part of it. I'm away from home for a couple of days but I could work up a paragraph from the sources. I can't nominate it for peer review because I have an article, Babe Ruth, already there. You would have to do it.--Wehwalt (talk) 20:56, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
I started the PR. —Designate (talk) 15:40, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
OK, swell. I may ask a couple of people to look at it.--Wehwalt (talk) 18:57, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

Patricia St. Aubin

Hi, I came across your name in several articles concerning MA, and candidates for it's elected offices. After looking at your user page, I see it is an interest of yours. I recently submitted an article for creation on Patricia St. Aubin, the Republican nominee for MA state Auditor in the November election, and I would very much appreciate any thoughts you have on it. I expect other editors will provide their input as the election nears, but I think your familiarity with MA wiki articles could be valuable to the quality of this page. Thanks. FA congratulations

Just a quick note to congratulate you on the promotion of John Tyler to FA status recently. If you would like to see this (or any other FA) appear as "Today's featured article" soon (either on a particular date or on any available date), please nominate it at the requests page. If you'd like to see an FA appear on a particular date in the next year or so, please add it to the "pending" list. In the absence of a request, the article may end up being picked at any time (although with about 1,305 articles waiting their turn at present, there's no telling how long – or short! – the wait might be). If you'd got any TFA-related questions or problems, please let me know. BencherliteTalk 23:34, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

Pierce

Reading ...--Wehwalt (talk) 09:44, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Much appreciated, I'm looking forward to your comments. I went through all the image licenses and PR tools the other day. I have a faint hope we could get it through FAC by November 23 (his 210th birthday). I know it still needs work, though, particularly the legacy section. —Designate (talk) 18:36, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
I've got a few bios and books on the K-N act. You have most of the bios, the only one you lack is the Schlesinger. I am sure I can scare up enough legacy stuff to make it work. I've only read part of the article but it looks very solid so far. I think that's a realistic goal, Nov 23. If it's sitting at FAC in November, we can ask Bencherlite to hold off scheduling that date or something.--Wehwalt (talk) 19:20, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Notification

Since you commented at Wikipedia talk:Good article nominations#The State of GAC, I thought you might want to comment at Wikipedia talk:Good article nominations#Formal decision on nomination limit. Most people who commented on the initial discussion do not seem to be following this page, because the formal decision has gotten very few responses.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 21:48, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Archiving FAC

Hello. Can I ask for a FAC closure on Megadeth? The FA delegate promoted the candidate three days ago. Since it was a former FA at the time, it needs to be removed from the WP:FFA list also. Thanks in advance.--Retrohead (talk) 22:42, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

More Pierce

I think it's pretty close to being ready to go for peer review purposes anyway. I'm giving it a slow read through. I beefed up the legacy section a bit. I'd like to say more, but people seem to agree. John Sherman had some interesting comments about Pierce, here, maybe we could squeeze it in. We should move the bios we aren't using to a "further reading" section. I'll try to look for inconsistencies in the references, but it's really not my strength.--Wehwalt (talk) 01:18, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

I've done that now. Take a look at it and let's see where we are.--Wehwalt (talk) 09:04, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
I think it's PR-ready. Sherman's opinion is interesting, probably moreso than Grant's which someone (not me) included in the article. —Designate (talk) 03:14, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
There's some POV tag or other, I'll look at it in the morning when I'm fresher.--Wehwalt (talk) 04:26, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
Done. We can include Sherman if someone feels the Legacy section needs more bulk.--Wehwalt (talk) 08:46, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
