Welcome!

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Muhammad bin Qasim. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 16:59, 27 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 18:01, 27 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion

[edit]

Information icon Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. The thread is Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Dr._Hamza_Ebrahim reported by User:Kautilya3 (Result: ). Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 01:49, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

ARBIPA sanctions alert

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

AGF and sources

[edit]

Dr. Hamza, I want to make some comments about these posts here privately.

  • Assume Good Faith is a cardinal principle of Wikipedia editing. You need to stop making comments about me or what I might believe in etc. If you continue to do so, you will face sanctions.
  • As I told you earlier, you are welcome to believe in whatever you want to believe in. You cannot put it in Wikipedia. Reading and interpreting WP:PRIMARY sources is considered WP:Original research and it is prohibited on Wikipedia. It can be done to a limited extent, provided it is attributed, and you generate consensus for it among all the involved editors. You need to stop treating Wikipedia is a personal blog site. Everything added here is subject to consensus.
  • If there is problematic content sourced to Chachnama, you are welcome to remove it or tag it. I don't have any affinity to that source.
  • Based on the WP:SECONDARY source you have provided, I consider this material WP:UNDUE on this page. You can put it in Attiyah's page if you want. I don't particularly care what goes in that page even though I think that page is quite unreadable and in a poor shape at present.
  • If you do add it here, you need to summarise the source faithfully, which means stating that Attiyah participated in the invasion of Sindh as an officer. You cannot pick and choose what you like or dislike.

Pinging admin RegentsPark to help reinforce these points. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 19:04, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

We can not hide facts just to assume good faith. You can not remove something from wikipedia just because you like someone to be portrayed as a champion of human values. I did provide three primary and one secondary source. The dispute should have ended there. Instead you threatened me with a ban and also reported me which ended well. Attiyah was a rebel not officer in Umatyad army. And the Shia-Abbasid struggle ended the Umayyad rule shortly afterwards. Secondly, Attiyah is regarded a credible source of Hadith by bith the Sunni and the Shia scholars of Hadith, and Muhammad bin Qasim is not. Neither Sunnis nor Shias took any Hadith from him. Attiyah was a disciple of the companion of the Prophet Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari. He was among the main intellectuals and leading figures of the time. Therefore, it is necessary to include this section in the page to make it compatible with the real history. You should not be biased if you want to contribute to Wikipedia, for religious reasons or whatever. Note: If I had enough time, I will remove fake news from this page and add more credible information. Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 21:26, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You are continuing to cast WP:aspersions. I am not trying to portray anybody as anything. I am simply asking you to stick to scholarly SECONDARY sources. Just read what the policies say about WP:PRIMARY and WP:SECONDARY and follow them. We are not interested in your beliefs. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 22:39, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have added more content. My concern are not your personal beliefs but your biased and apologetic comments. The first time your removed this section, you said he was just following orders. Then you came with other excuses. When I answered them all, you reported me. Therefore it is better to let other editors and moderators look into this matter.

  • Dr Hamza Ebrahim, a couple of points you should note.
    1. Primary sources may be used but only for obvious facts. In general, ancient or medieval texts don't qualify. If there is something useful in a historical text then there must exist a modern secondary source that contextualizes it. So, please don't use historical sources at all and use on modern secondary sources.
    2. Accusing other editors of bias is a serious thing on Wikipedia. You must back it up with evidence (and, disagreeing with you does not constitute evidence of bias). Accusing other editors of being biased without evidence is considered disruptive and can lead to blocks and bans. --regentspark (comment) 15:47, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Dr. Hamza Ebrahim, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Shia Islam in Pakistan have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:46, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Verifiability

[edit]

Please ensure that the content you add is verifiable, by adding full citations and links where possible. If the sources is not available online, it would be appropriate to provide a quotation that verifies the content.

Here you have cited two chapters of a book for one sentence. That is not reasonable. The terms "persecution" and "peak" do not appear in those chapters or in fact anywhere in the book. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 11:26, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have rewritten the text.

Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 12:01, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Removing POV tags

[edit]

Please do not remove POV tags unilaterally as you have done here. There is a link within the template, which explains the conditions under which it can be removed.

On the whole, I feel that you are not making any effort to read and follow the Wikipedia policies given to you in my welcome message above. As a result, you are wasting a lot of your and my time. Under the ARBIPA sanctions regime, you are responsible for understanding all the applicable policies before editing. Failure to do so can lead to sanctions such as blocks and bans. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 16:37, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I fulfilled all your demands. You wanted recent scholarly sources, I provided. You wanted to include chachnama claim, although three other more credible sources did not agree with it. I included this too. I named the other sources that did not agree with chachnama and I provided modern scholarly articles to support them. Still you tag this section as non-neutral and pass threats if I remove the tag.

Anyway, thanks for all the dispute because it made the section much more credible.

Chak Dynasty moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Chak Dynasty, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Snowycats (talk) 00:21, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I will add more content once I have time.

Talk page usage

[edit]

Dr. Hamza, you are now engaging on extensive talk page discussions. But you are not indenting posts as is the custom on Wikipedia. I have been reformatting your posts according to the standard format.

Cheers, Kautilya3 (talk) 22:53, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your time, discussion, reformatting and the links!

Re your post on WP:NPOV

[edit]

Hi. Just a heads up that it is not a good idea to open multiple discussions on the same issue (see WP:FORUMSHOP). Also, do remember to sign your posts! Best wishes. --regentspark (comment) 00:27, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you might know because you have been called on by Kautilya3 multiple times, discussion with your friend reached a deadlock and they started wikilawyering. Therefore, I posted on NPOV with a hope to reach a solution.

Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 07:21, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This was just FYI. You'll get into trouble if you post the same query in multiple places. --regentspark (comment) 13:33, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your time. Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 13:41, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dr. Hamza Ebrahim, please note that the DRN moderator thought the whole episode of Atiyah was UNDUE on the Muhammad bin Qasim page. [1] [2] So I am surprised you are wanting to expand this all over again [3].

You have been informed of discretionary sanctions in effect for India/Pakistan/Afghanistan pages. WP:Tendentious editing is not likely to be allowed by the administrators. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 16:54, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It is the cursing of Ali and the revolt of al-Ash'ath that are the main points. I have explained it over and over again but you always wanted to remove them by discussing Atiyah and WP:Wikilawyering. Atiyah is mentioned because he was part of these events. If you are concerned about making it shorter, then instead of removing the few words mentioning the cursing of Ali, you should remove this part:-

"What happened to Attiya after this treatment is not clear. According to Al-Tabari and Ibn Hajar, he fled to Khurasan,[6] [7] but the Chach Nama states that he joined bin Qasim's invasion force as an officer.[5] However, modern historians dispute the credibility of such reports in the Chach Nama [8]".

The discussion on the DRN has been archived here under the title: "Muhammad bin Qasim and the Cursing of Ali":-
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard/Archive_176

I have explained that the moderator (with a korean name) appeared to have no idea of Early Muslim History or perhaps was not impartial. It is so clear that both the revolt and the cursing of Ali need a mention. Wikipedia can not omit historically important details.
Also note that the rules need to be followed by both of us. You were also informed about the sanctions that might apply.WP:Tendentious editing is when you erase the mention of the cursing of Ali, the fourth Rashidun Caliph of Muslims. Also when you report Chach Nama's claim about Atiyah's presence in Sind but remove the modern scholarly criticism by Friedmann on such claims. Events must be reported faithfully. License tagging for File:Madh-e-Sahaba Celebration in Lucknow.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Madh-e-Sahaba Celebration in Lucknow.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:31, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dr. Hamza Ebrahim,

Do not move articles! You clearly do not know what you are doing. You moved a valid article to an article talk page (seriously?!), renamed an article to a typo (what is Talk:Shia Islam in Pakistan and India as onm supposed to mean?) and deleted massive amounts of content without any discussion on the article talk page. Please cease your disruptive editing or you will be facing a block in the near future. Make reasonable edits and discuss any major changes with other editors on the article talk page before you make them. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:55, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Liz,

Thank you for correction. Is it ok to repeat things in two articles? Pakistan, Bangladesh and India are known as Indian subcontinent and they are strongly connected by History, and after partition in 1947, people migrated at mass scale carrying historical and cultural heritage to new geographic regions. I thought it would be better to discuss their past collectively and then discuss the post 1947 stuff in separate sections.

I had merged it into this:-

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shia_Islam_in_the_Indian_subcontinent

Best regards,

Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 07:20, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Shia Islam in India into Shia Islam in the Indian subcontinent. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 18:24, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Diannaa 🍁 Thank you for your message. A great part of the content in history section was added by me when there used to be separate pages for Shia Islam in India and Shia Islam in Pakistan. I copied content before merging the page into "Shia Islam in the indian subcontinent" page, as it was a requirement for the merger. But Liz decided to undo the merger.

Thanks for letting me know how to attribute to pages which we copy from.

Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 18:32, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Shia Islam in India

[edit]

Hi Dr. Hamza Ebrahim. I notice that you're copying a lot of information from Shia Islam in India to Shia Islam in the Indian subcontinent. It doesn't make much sense for two articles to contain largely the same material so I'm wondering if there is a good reason behind your duplication effort? Thanks. --regentspark (comment) 20:27, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear regentspark,

I have already explained the matter to two administrators on my talk page. Please give it a read.

Best regards,

Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 21:44, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:1988 D I Khan Shia Killed by Govt.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ST47 (talk) 07:40, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Syed Shahryar Raza Abidi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — Amkgp 💬 15:26, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Dear Dr. Hamza Ebrahim, when you sign posts, please add your signature at the end of the paragraph. Do not put it on a separate line as you have been doing at Talk:Destruction of Kashmiri Shias. It makes the talk discussion quite disorganised, without clarity on who is saying what. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 13:50, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted the blank userpage which you created. Do it again and you will be indeffed. Do I make myself clear? Mjroots (talk) 19:29, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I am new to Wikipedia. What is important about having a user page for User:TrangaBellam is to notice his vandalism and wikilawyering on other pages. He is doing a similar job at Hindu related pages as he did at the page I created about persecution of Kashmiri Shias. Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 19:36, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have nearly 1,500 edits over almost 2 years, you are not new to Wikipedia. Canterbury Tail talk 19:40, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Dr. Ebrahim, if you accuse another editor again of vandalism absent any actual proof —see what vandalism is not— I'm just going to sanction you without further warning. Please do better, because thus far, you are faltering. El_C 19:42, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't know any other way to find a user's edit past. If you have time, have a look at the page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destruction_of_Kashmiri_Shias . Please take a look at the talk page too. Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 19:45, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

To find an editor's contributiona go to their user page or their talk page. Left side of page, under "Tools", third item down is "user contributions". Click on that and all will be revealed. Mjroots (talk) 19:57, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

When I click their name, I see this now: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:TrangaBellam

Anyway, now I can see their talk page. Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 20:23, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary sanctions alert (update)

El_C 19:35, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please have a look at the page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destruction_of_Kashmiri_Shias as an admin. I have cited sources and you should make sure that the work doesn't get wiped off. Please take a look at the context before making such decisions. Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 19:41, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, again, I don't really intend on closely investigating any of these content disputes at this time. WP:DR is for that. El_C 19:44, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Mirza Husayn Tehrani

[edit]

Hello Dr. Hamza Ebrahim,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mirza Husayn Tehrani for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Please read wp:brd and WP:ONUS, it is down to you to get wp:consensus for addition, its not down to me to fix huge walls of text. Slatersteven (talk) 12:15, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your concerns. I have not finished yet. Please wait for me to clean up. Also meanwhile study about the topic so that you make informed edits.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Islamism, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Marja. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Original research of unclear relevance

[edit]

In this edit you added to Shia Islam in the Indian subcontinent the sentence "In the report, he [Hakim ibn Jabalah al-Abdi] described the region of today's Balouchistan as a difficult terrain with lawlessness and hard groundwater". For this, you cite Wolpert. Wolpert says "The Arab commander of the first Islamic force to reach India reported from Sind to his caliph in 644 that 'water is scarce ... and the robbers are bold'". Wolpert doesn't identify the commander as Hakim ibn Jabalah al-Abdi, and doesn't mention Balouchistan. The year 644 doesn't jibe with the year 649 given in the text leading into your addition, and scarce water is not "hard groundwater". If you're combining sources to say something that neither one says directly, that's original research, and is not allowed on Wikipedia.

Moreover, your addition doesn't make clear how his description of the land is relevant to the topic Shia Islam in the Indian subcontinent. Finally, you added the sentence between a description of how Hakim ibn Jabalah al-Abdi died and his poetry [something also added by you, on 11 January 2021]. What on earth is the relevance of his hagiographic verse to the history of Shia Islam in the Indian subcontinet? It appears wildly off topic. --Worldbruce (talk) 16:21, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.
Hakim came to modern day balouchistan in 644, during the period of 3rd Caliph. He died in 649 during the period of 4th Caliph. This was the period when Shia-Sunni split took shape, so it is important to add these details. His poetry testifies his being a Shia. Wolpert cited the same source that is cited by Maclean. Paragraph is written in light of many citations , making a whole picture in context.
Dr. Hamza Ebrahim (talk) 16:48, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't doubt the basic facts - the who, where, when - as you've outlined them, but hope you understand that Wolpert doesn't support the details you believe are important, or the interpretations - that Hakim's report and poetry is important because it dates from the period of the Shia-Sunni split, and that his poetry testifies to him being a Shia. I am unconvinced by your statement that it is important to add these details, but will not further streamline the section until I've read Maclean, which may not be until November. Meanwhile, I invite you to rewrite the section plainly and directly with WP:TOPIC in mind. --Worldbruce (talk) 00:11, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your time and interest.
