A tag has been placed on Joe Moravsky requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I need help moving a page "Draft:James Naleski" and creating "James Naleski". Thank you!

Jpaul03342 Your draft has been declined as it is lacking in independent reliable sources and has not established notability. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 02:10, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) I'm sorry, but that page is nowhere near ready to become a live article. It doesn't establish that the subject is notable, and it's unreferenced (the lone reference does not mention Naleski!) as well as blatantly promotional in tone. Thus the reviewer - correctly - declined to turn the draft into a live article. We'd like reviewers of drafts to have some experience with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines; thus there are some formal requirements editors must meet before they can review drafts. You haven't reached that level of experience yet. I'd invite you to improve the draft instead of trying to turn it live right now, which would lead to its deletion. Overwriting of James Paul

[edit]

Hi Jpaul03342. I noticed that you "overwrote" the Wikipedia biography of American conductor James Paul, and replaced with the new biography of a different James Paul (an American / Russian record producer). Such actions are strictly prohibited in Wikipedia, and repeating such an action would be a major violation. If you want to write a new article on this record producer call it "James Paul (record producer)", and then paste in your content from the earlier into the body. Hope that helps. Britishfinance (talk) 20:17, 15 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, James Naleski. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – James Paul (record producer). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at James Paul (record producer). If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Orville1974talk 04:02, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Jpaul03342. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Success In Your City, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Cabayi (talk) 15:17, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for sockpuppetry

June 2019

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article about yourself, at James Paul (record producer). Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. A tag has been placed on Success In Your City requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://successinyourcity.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Speedy deletion nomination of James Naleski

[edit]

Hello Jpaul03342,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged James Naleski for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

James Naleski moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, James Naleski, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James Naleski until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

You may be blocked from editing without further warning if you make any further edits without responding to the inquiry you received regarding undisclosed paid editing. We understand where you're coming from. However, we have never accepted any payments of any kind for paid editing. That is strictly against Wikipedia's terms and conditions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jpaul03342 (talkcontribs)

Read it again, this includes WP:COI, which you have been asked about. So what is your connection to the subjects you've written about? Praxidicae (talk) 18:45, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Our connection to Sam Tinnesz, Joe Moravsky, NF, and James Naleski is all through their management. We have met with NF, Joe Moravsky and James Naleski in person but never disclosed that we were writing about them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jpaul03342 (talkcontribs)

Who is "our" and "we"? You very clearly are violating the policies I've outlined. Praxidicae (talk) 18:52, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Can we ask how we are violating the policies? We noticed that band managers can not write about their band but since we do not directly work with them professionally, we do not see the COI. We are just gathering information from the web and compiling it into an article. We have learned a tremendous about what can and can not qualify as an article and thank you for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jpaul03342 (talkcontribs)

It's clear to me you're unable or unwilling to read the information provided in the multiple warnings here. You were warned when your account was blocked for sock puppetry, you were warned a year ago and you were warned today, by me before this final warning. File permission problem with File:James Naleski photographed by Kal.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:James Naleski photographed by Kal.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
