[edit]Why Christian metalcore was replaced?
[edit]How many times I have to say this?, you are confusing a band's faith with a music genre. There's not even an article for Christian metalcore, it will redirect you to metalcore.
Here are some discussion that you might want to read after reverting any edits.
Do not ask why it was replaced, don't waste your time, it is a mayor consensus. Thank you --Kmaster (talk) 21:48, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Shai hulud promo.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Shai hulud promo.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Ref for Hearts...
[edit]Hi... I saw in this edit you added some refs to support the "most influential" peacock term... thanks! But I looked at the refs and didn't think that they were very sound... for one thing, they seemed to be two blogs and some user comments at Amazon, and for another, I couldn't find the actual terms. Praise, yes but not the "is considered as one of most influential records " phrasing. Do you think if you have time and interest you could find a reputable critic site and use something from there? I ran into this problem on the Beatles articles I worked on... ++Lar: t/c 04:55, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. I'll try find more reliable sources. It's not difficult, because it's Shai Hulud ;-)--Kmaster (talk) 05:02, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Notability of Postmortem Promises
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Postmortem Promises, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Postmortem Promises seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Postmortem Promises, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Shai hulud logo.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Shai hulud logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 09:06, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Strongarm (band)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Strongarm (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Toytown Mafia (talk) 20:40, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for moving
[edit]Thanks for moving the discussion, I originally started it on my talk page to reduce "bouncing" from article to article, but it turned into a heated discussion so now it's best on the article talk page. Thanks again. — FatalError 18:55, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]Thanks for letting me know, seems a little ironic doesn't it. Landon1980 (talk) 01:36, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
I hate that User:IronCrow is mad enough to leave over this, he did make some good contributions while he was here. It's a shame he is unwilling to work with other editors, and becomes so angry over nothing really. You are right though, if he can't act better than that we are better off without him. You can't let your personal beliefs get in the way of editing, and until he can keep it under control he should stay retired. He does this quite often, I'd say he'll be back after he cools off a bit. We can't let someone pouting stop us from bettering the encyclopedia, I think we did the right thing. Thanks for alerting me to the situation, Cheers. Landon1980 (talk) 14:52, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Christian music debate
[edit]Hey, hope you're doing well. I invite you to participate in a Christian music debate that I've started. I did it to keep the whole thing in one place, because it's starting to span across several band articles. Thanks. — FatalError 21:30, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
New Found Glory's Musical Genres
[edit]Hello Kmaster, you recently reverted an act of vandalism on the New Found Glory article. However, when you did so you also reverted my edit as well, which had included "Emo" to the band's list of genres along with several references to back up this claim. You not only removed the term "Emo" from the article but also all of my references. I thought this might have been an accident, but when another user restored some of my information you reverted it again simply stating "not emo". Can you tell me why you reverted my edit?
Aurum ore (talk) 02:15, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, don't worry about it. I did add back the information, but since it seems to be pretty controversial I'm also trying to find references that they're "not emo" so that we can include a small section about the debate surrounding their genre (since there seems to be a lot of argument about what sub-genre(s) they really belong to).
- Aurum ore (talk) 22:53, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- FYI, Aurum ore tried the same trick of using a minimal number of musical reviews to justify his "emo" tag over at the Simple Plan article. We fended him off, arguing that a review is really an opinion piece and not an RS under WP:RS and that the number (2 or 3) of reviews he posited describing SP as emo paled before the many news articles we were able to pull up describing SP as pop punk. You might want to review WP:UNDUE and see if his "emo" tag is a tiny minority position with no prominent adherants, and if it is, you can delete it regardless of whether his music reviews are RSs or not.--Wehwalt (talk) 22:31, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Stop adding NWOBHM to that stupid list of supposed "punk metal."
[edit]I can see that as a fan of both punk and metal, you would want to somehow equate the most influential metal scene of the 80's as having been somehow influenced by punk, but read any interviews with the actual bands and you will see that they were reacting against the musical ineptitude of punk, rather than being influenced by its speed. Punk bands were not the first bands to play fast, and I'm tired of that stupid argument. Black Sabbath and Judas Priest (as well as many other 70's metal bands) released plenty of proto-speed metal songs years before punk broke into the mainstream. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.193.246.194 (talk) 23:48, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit]would it not be better to re-write genre section to include 'has more in common wih industrial music, with nu metal riffs and samples' rather than just nu-metal as it seems to imply the album is a straight up nu-metal release? Winter.skin (talk) 05:10, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi
Did you intentionally readd the DiscussMusic.net-review in this edit? It seems to be a very non notable review to me.
Cheers, AmaltheaTalk 19:01, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- Me again. :)
I don't quite understand this change, even after reading Talk:Shogun (album)#Genre. If you say that allmusic often mislables album genres as "alternative metal", replacing sourced and verifiable genres with unsourced, fact-tagged ones really is "not the way Wikipedia works".
But also note that I know neither band nor album, so you might be completely right.

{{User:Kmaster/HXC}}!
[edit]Dude, love the userbox! Especially the word "real"—I was into 80s hardcore (that's the real stuff), and now there's this "metalcore" genre that seems to have NOTHING to do with hardcore, as in hardcore PUNK! As far as I can see, metalcore is pretty much completely a kind of metal. I'm not a very skilled user of WP mechanics—I don't know how to create templates—but if you check my user page, you'll see I've created a satirical version of the metalcore userbox. Best wishes, AdRock (talk) 03:17, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Slow revert wars
[edit]Advice: AN3 is for violations of 3RR, not slow revert wars. Generic edit warring isn't suitable for that page, unless its close. Yours isn't. So what can you do? Try and talk to the other side, on the article talk or on their talk page. Try WP:DR. Maybe get them blocked, but you'll need a good reason William M. Connolley (talk) 23:24, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
The 70.152 guy. (From Metalcore and other related pages)
[edit]He doesn't seem to know how to stop. He seems to be constantly reverting to fit his personal satisfaction instead of ours. This person is trying to avoid 3RR as well by reverting after every 24 hours or so. He also has different IP identities although it's pretty much obvious it's that person (especially with his odd and no explanation reverts of Trap Them, Fuck the Facts, and Siege). How the heck can we stop this war when this user knows how to revert at the "safe" moments? Talk to me back at my discussion. Thanks! The Phantomnaut (talk) 06:57, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Fallen Angel (25 ta Life album)
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Fallen Angel (25 ta Life album), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Replaceable fair use Image:Hulud2008.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Hulud2008.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 23:32, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

MxPx
[edit]Hi Kmaster, MxPx is on my watchlist and I noticed a recent revert war with you and a couple of anons regarding MxPx genre. I had been involved in this debate last year, and added my feelings and a citation in an attempt to stop any more reverts today, as well as started a topic on the discussion page to try to inject some sanity into the debate--and at least allow people who are not hiding behind an IP address to discuss the matter. I'm not hell bent on making a point here, but reading through your talk page here you definitely seem to be knowledgable on this topic, and we seem to disagree. If you would, I would welcome your input on the MxPx talk page to discuss further, and--as is so rare on Wiki these days--I promise to be civil and have a real discussion. This "war" has been raging back and forth for 18 months now, and I'd like to find a consensus. NiftySwifty (talk) 04:15, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Overcast
[edit]Hi, Kmaster!
The article you wrote me about, Overcast (band), was nominated for Speedy Deletion because there was little to no information in it that indicated the importance or notability of the band. The entire content of the article:
Overcast is an american metalcore band. Members: Brian Fair-Vocals Mike D' Antonio-Bass Pete Cortese-Guitar Scoot McCooe-Guitar Jay Fitzgerald-Drums They have existed from 1991-1998 and got back together later to make the album Reborn To Kill Again
As you can see, basically two sentences, and almost no content or context. You may be right that one or more of the members are in their own right Notable, but since the article had no indication of such, it was eligible for Speedy Deletion. If you think the band is Notable, feel free to re-create the article. But please put in some references or some information about them that satisfies the notability requirements. Thanks! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 17:21, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

The article Matt Fletcher (musician) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While this musician is in two bands, he clearly doesn't have sufficient individual notability. The article is a discography (which exists on each of the band articles) and unsourced trivia about the subject. Fail WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:22, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Fotologcom fotolog.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Fotologcom fotolog.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:14, 4 May 2018 (UTC)

Ways to improve SDEC R engine
[edit]Hello, Kmaster,
Thanks for creating SDEC R engine! I edit here too, under the username Doomsdayer520 and it's nice to meet you :-)
I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-
Thank you for your new article on the SDEC R engine, but it needs more citations to sources that support the statements being made. See Wikipedia's rules on verification.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Doomsdayer520}}

[edit]Monster Truck Madness page
[edit]Hi, I am I'm Aya Syameimaru!. I managed to improve an article that you edited named Monster Truck Madness this year. I rewrote it so that way it could become a Good article (GA). It's very different compared to before 2019, when it was a relatively plain simple and short article. I also made it appear on the Did you know (DYK) section of Wikipedia's main page. The article's talk page now says that it's a GA, and that it also appeared on DYK. I wonder if you can also write a GA, and also if you can write a DYK. I«ias!|,,.|usbk»I 16:30, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Monster Truck Madness Wiki
[edit]Hello my names's Mountain4567, I had a question. You used to be an admin for Monster Truck Madness Wiki correct? Mountain4567 (talk · contribs) 71.178.26.30 (talk) 02:32, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. Yes I was, then I moved everything to MTMG, but they had server problems and lost most of the work. Kmaster (talk) 16:47, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
- So that wiki was closed and moved to another wiki, the wiki that I'm an admin of: https://racingmadness.fandom.com/wiki/Army_Armstrong. I was wondering if you were able to contribute to here by sharing your expertise on the MTM series? And another thing, since you have a profile account on here: https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Message_Wall:Kmaster. Do you think we can continue this discussion on here?
