[edit]Someone said welcome already but anyhays, I'm in the WikiProject Music too, and I just wanted to say you can ask me for advice if any is needed. ×××BrightBlackHeaven(talk)××× 19:57, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
- Wow, your the first person to actually properly talk to me though haha! That message up above was just for some hints and tips around here. Thanks very much for the welcome, and I shall not hesistate if I do need any advice. Thanks again. Mr little irish (talk) 14:13, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

- Hi, erm, yea, where am I supposed to be looking? Or even, what am I supposed to be looking at? Thanks It's Me(Speak to me)
What have you done?08:28, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry for the confusion. I was looking at your response to me here. I thought that your ideas closely matched the ideas of those I pointed out in my comment above. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 19:00, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- I couldn't find it on RickK's talk page lol. I feel that IP edits should be ban.... anyway you know lol. It's Me(Speak to me)

- I couldn't find it on RickK's talk page lol. I feel that IP edits should be ban.... anyway you know lol. It's Me(Speak to me)
- I restored the links again. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that what you said in the pending changes/feedback seems to echo what "they" said on RickK's talkpage. Oh, and I had this watchlisted in case you decided to respond--no need for any more talkback (templates). :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 13:35, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Well watching it certainly makes it easier for me :) So is there any way of getting a good IP contribution scheme going, or putting it forward to the right people? it would reduce vandalism drastically. It's Me(Speak to me)

Advice
[edit]1. I see you've been posting your "questions" on a lot of user talkpages lately (Sonia and BrightBlackHeaven, to name a few). Don't post too many of them, though, otherwise you might look like you're Canvassing.
2. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but the last part of your sig links to Special:Contributions/Mr_little_Irish (with a capital I), which doesn't exist, but your username is Special:Contributions/Mr_little_irish.
:| TelCoNaSpVe :| 01:21, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks about both, I'll keep my, well, questions to a limit, and I shall change my signature, thanks for noticing that, because I probably wouldn't have. Mrlittleirish 07:43, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- Just checked my sig, and everything is in order with it... so... yea, confused. Mrlittleirish 08:43, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, well you already changed your sig. I must have been kinda slow that day. What I had previously meant to address was this:
What have you done?but it looks like it's all fixed. Anyway, it's only in the sigs you have above this section. I changed one of them as an example. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 14:06, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Yeah, I know the system, and it was a damned mistake that sometimes tends to happen. Usually I create new sections with months and so, but sometimes when creating a new talk page I tend to forget it. DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 08:24, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Message added 14:02, 15 July 2010 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Just in case you didn't get my message. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 14:02, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Your use of {{REVISIONUSER}} on the top of the page won't work, as it only applies to the one doing the "revising" (i.e. editing) and so since you last edited the page, it only shows your name. But anyway, did you create most of the userboxes yourself? If so, you can post them at Wikipedia talk:Userboxes/New Userboxes. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 14:44, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- I wish I was that awesome to create all of them myself. I don't know if you changed the {{REVISIONUSER}} on the top of the page so I shall check, and if its there, I shall change it. Many thanks for letting me know. Mrlittleirish 14:46, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- Oh. One more thing. I'm not sure if we're supposed to do this or that you actually copied REVISIONUSER from someone else, but I'm going to say this just in case. According to Xeno we're supposed to source all the material that we used in our space (see here, when he gave Mono a notice regarding attribution). :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 14:51, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I don't know, I got it from my talk space template, and I can't remember where I got that from... Mrlittleirish 07:50, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Hello Mr little irish,
I think you may have been a bit quick to judge & warn 118.208.78.180 (talk · contribs). The text they removed seems to me to be an unsourced BLPvio, added by 64.130.151.41 (talk · contribs) with this edit. Perhaps you could 'strike' your warning to 118.208.78.180? Hello O Irishman, thank you for your views, I appreciate it. I have left a comment just below your !vote, kindly go through it if you wish. (Also what tends to happen is that, over here, the edit count for Jan 2011 is quite large, and it puts all the other edit counts into perspective, so what may be seen as smaller bars, in fact constitute something like 500 edits each on an average). Of course, its your call in the end! Thanks, Lynch7 11:38, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- My problem is you did nearly 5k edits in one month, then this number reduced by a huge amount, and then a second huge amount again. Such a large amount of edits in such a short amount of time seems a bit unreasonable. I understand and respect that you are an Admin and a 'Crat on another wiki, however this is not the same wiki, and difference guidlines and policies are in place here. I trust by your reactions to myself and to others that you accept these terms, and judging by the current support you have in the RfA, if looks like you have a high chance of getting Admin here. I wish you the best of luck, but at this time, cannot support your request. 195.200.159.1 (talk) 13:13, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

A discussion that may be of interest to you
[edit]Hey there, Diminutive Hibernian, Esq., there is a discussion that may interest you at Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Re-formatting/Discussion#CVU Guideline Proposal. As one of the hardest working Anti-vandals that I've run into, I'm sure the Project would love to hear your imput. Cheers! Achowat (talk) 15:45, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
MOTDs (This space for rent)
[edit]You may have noticed over the past few days that the MOTD that you link to on your user page has simply displayed a red link. This is due to the fact that not enough people are reviewing pending MOTDs here. Please help us keep the MOTD template alive and simply go and review a few of the MOTDs in the list. That way we can have a real MOTD in the future rather than re-using (This space for rent). Any help would be appreciated! –pjoef (talk • contribs) 12:07, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
March 2012 MOTD's award for helping the project in a difficult time
[edit]The MOTD Barnstar | ||
The MOTD Barnstar is awarded to Mr little irish for his invaluable contribution to our project, which was experiencing a period of extreme scarcity. Thank you from Motto of the day. –pjoef (talk • contribs) 10:59, 13 March 2012 (UTC) |
Additional note: Hoping that you feel comfortable with us, we hope and desire that you will want to continue contributing to our/your project. I personally think that if many of us contribute, then about ten minutes per week, by reviewing the existing nominations, and eventually adding new nominations, should be more than enough to get the project going! Once again, thank you from your Motto of the day. –pjoef (talk • contribs) 10:59, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Hello there! Your input is request at Wikipedia talk:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy. You had commented on the re-formatting discussion at WP:CVU but have yet to comment on the progress done to implement a major change discussed during the reformatting discussion, namely the training for new anti-vandals. Any input would be appreciated, thank you. Cheers! Achowat (talk) 19:28, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello. You have a new message at Achowat's talk page. Achowat (talk) 15:46, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, I saw your note on the Enrollment page (and removed it, just for cleanup). I really want to, at least at first, be able to check in on Dan and Tarheel and make sure they're committed to this and make sure their teaching "right", if you will. But that's just while we're in Beta. I'm sure you can handle more, and your work with Theo seems to be good. Achowat (talk) 13:29, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- I already sent them an invite, but I can pass them on to Dan or Tarheel if they respond. MrLittleIrish (talk) © 13:31, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, since Dan contributes at night and Tarheel seems to be on a WikiMiniBreak (a MiniWikiBreak?), feel free to take Nightenbelle on, as well. She seems Clueful, but relatively inexperienced. She's perfect for what the CVUA is all about. Achowat (talk) 13:33, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- Nightenbelle seems to have a pretty good grasp already, some brilliant reverts contributed by her. I shall add her to my list for now. MrLittleIrish (talk) © 13:42, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- Just remember to talk her (and all your students) through all 4 steps. Identifying, restoring, warning, and reporting. Achowat (talk) 13:43, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- Indeed, both my enrollee's seem to have very good knowledge already of what it is ect, so I have advised to continue as they are, and have advised Nightenbelle to maybe apply for Rollback. MrLittleIrish (talk) © 13:49, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- I'm watching your conversations, like a good WikiJaguar. It seems good, if there are any issues, I'll let you know. Achowat (talk) 13:51, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

Recall
[edit]Please don't ask RFA candidates if they are open to recall. It is divisive and unhelpful. Hipocrite (talk) 13:37, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

- And why I returned - thank you for removing the question, it's appreciated. Hipocrite (talk) 13:51, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- I only removed it because with current procedings ongoing at ANI in regards to yourself, I assumed you could do without more drama. I stand by my statement that it is a valid question. You're more than likely going to oppose anyway. Ther will be something you don't like in that RFA somewhere, there's still six days for it to appear. MrLittleIrish (talk) © 13:53, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- Possible. I appreciate you humoring me, then, if it was only done for my well-being, though I should note that I feel that I have been vindicated by the current proceedings. I doubt there will be something I don't like in that RFA - I don't see why I wouldn't trust the user in question. Hipocrite (talk) 13:55, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- More just 'giving the baby his bottle'. Without meaning to cause offense. I could do without the drama today also. Taking my girl out for a romantic meal and what not, she won't want me banging on about 'pedia all night. MrLittleIrish (talk) © 13:59, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Your RFA
[edit]I wish you had shot me a note about writing a nom statement for you before you ran. However, I would have cautioned you against it. Despite being knowledgable and clueful, you're going to get a lot of (misplace, IMO) WP:NOTNOW votes, just because you don't have the thousands of edits RFA generally demands. It's a shame, because if you did get your count up to 5-7,000, you'd have a real shot at it. You do good work, and it's a shame that your RFA (barring any serious-serious changes in heart) will be unsuccessful. You will have my support, however. Achowat (talk) 15:39, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, I'm just going for it. I can't remove the subst from the damn thing though. Help??? I hate markup. MrLittleIrish (talk) © 15:41, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- I believe I've got the subst fixed, but now it's making the X!/RfX Report display "closure pending". Achowat (talk) 15:47, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Too much too soon... If you'd have asked for advise to any established editor either an admin or other or even me. Then they/I could have guided you to the right direction. I appreciate your energy and you are responsible editor also, but there is time for everything and this is not the right time for an RfA about you. Sorry to oppose. Perhaps you could look at this: User:Yasht101/RfA criteria and User:Worm That Turned/Magic Formula Yasht101 16:26, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi there, Mr Little Irish. I'm sorry that you've experienced so much opposition at your RfA, but I would strongly advise that you withdraw. You are certainly a good editor - as I said in my neutral rationale, I am certain that you will make a good administrator candidate in the future. However, your lack of experience is a problem (even for those who do not count edits, less than 1000 is simply too few). I recommend that you withdraw and spend the next few months getting experience at Wikipedia and enjoying editing. Continue the good work you do (and it is good work - I do appreciate the useful comments you make at WP:PERM) and try to get some article work under your belt. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do, and please do ask me if you need any advice. ItsZippy (talk • contributions) 19:57, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
I will more than likely withdraw but I am going to wait until tomorrow before I do so. Many editors are active overnight, from the US. I'm going to get as much feedback as I can from this experience, then I shall take all of it and use it to better my future within the project. Thank you guys for your wise words already. Nightenbelle
[edit]MLI, ol' buddy ol' chap! It seems as though a passing editor just left a message on Nightenbelle's talk page about inappropriate use of Rollback; seems like as good a time as any to drop in and do a little more work together. Achowat (talk) 20:03, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Your RfA was unsuccessful
[edit]I have closed your RFA early as it was highly unlikely to succeed and I think you have received all the constructive feedback it was likely to generate. I hope you will not be too disheartened by the unsuccessful outcome and will consider reapplying once you have addressed the issues raised by those who opposed. I know the RFA process can be rather demoralising and trust you will keep in mind the positive comments that were made. Thank you for volunteering your time to help out on Wikipedia. WJBscribe (talk) 22:01, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- If you don't take that feedback and do good things with it, I'll be on a plane to London next week, and you and I are going to have a serious conversation . You do good work, if you don't keep it up, I'll be using that new flail Dan gave me for more than just Vandals. Achowat (talk) 03:13, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
- The only reason I didn't withdraw was to get the feedback that I needed. I'm planning on taking the feedback and using it to make myself a better, more experienced editor. Achowat, you should get on the plane over here anyway, I owe you a beer. MrLittleIrish (talk) © 09:33, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

A bowl of strawberries for you!
[edit]Sorry to oppose in your RfA. Please take it opsitively. I saw your message on my tp. It is great to see that you havent given up... You are one of the few editors who have so less edits and have extraordinary grip on policies. You are the best of all in that. You'll be a great admin in future. I'd undoubtedly support you without even looking at your contributions if you go for it after good 10 months without coming in any disputes. Never let your spirits down my friend and all the best! - Nom! Thank you! MrLittleIrish (talk) © 14:01, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
- I thought it was a fairly positive RfA. When the main comment is "You do great work, you just need to get more experience", I think it is clear that adminship is going to be down the road for Irish. No one had anything negative to say about you, which is a rarity at an RfA and demonstrates that they all think you have the proper temperament for the mop. Even though it didn't result in you getting the admin bit, I hope you saw all the positives that came out of it, including the fact that many people respect you, even if they think you need more experience. - I was suprised that there were no hostile comments to be fair, after !voting in alot of recent RFA's I've seen a lot of hostility arise from such events. Hopefully, in 10 to 12 months if I do re-apply, everybody will be in the Support section and I can start to learn to use the tools effectively. Now, on to researching something to create an article on. Most things are already covered! MrLittleIrish (talk) © 14:17, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
- Think about local things around you and you'll surely find something notable Yasht101 14:25, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
