Did You Know problem
Hello! Your submission of Jason Spitz at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! (Note: I always leave approvals to others. Also, I copyedited your hook to conform to our standards I1, I3, and I5.) Art LaPella (talk) 00:52, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

TL
I added the Template:Tl to comment out the template. I wasn't sure if {{onesource}} added pages to a hidden category, so I didn't want to actually activate it (being a userspace draft and all). But apparently it doesn't, so there you go. --King Öomie 19:07, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

There's still plenty of time and a lot can happen, but regardless thanks for the preemptive congratulations regarding RfA on Wikipedia talk:Requests for comment/Wikipediaforever. Would you mind striking or removing your comment, though? It's generous but I think it's out-of-scope on that talk page and wouldn't want anyone's comments to seem influenced. AfD nomination of Encore (Van Halen album)
An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Encore (Van Halen album). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Encore (Van Halen album). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:09, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I hope you don't mind me pointing out that when you recently reverted vandalism on Michael Ian Black, you actually only reverted the last one out of 11 consecutive vandalism edits by different IPs, most of which had been bot-marked as possible vandalism or section blanking. When I see an IP vandalism edit that closely follows a lot of other IP edits, I always check them all and revert back as far as necessary. Best regards -- Boing! said Zebedee 07:20, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

About your Admin Coaching request
Your submission at Admin Coaching has been removed from the request list, as requests where the submitter has not visited the page for at least 6 months (or been inactive for at least 4 months) are removed. You are welcome to re-submit a request should you wish to, but please note that you are expected to regularly check the page (and to update the "last visited" field of your request) to show your continued interest in the project. If you do re-submit, please carefully re-read the instructions for submission as they may have changed since you last visited! As noted on the project page, there is an on-going backlog with the project, as so few admins are currently coaching. This means that you may have a long wait for a response (if you receive one at all). If you no longer require admin coaching, I hope that you continue to enjoy editing Wikipedia! Speedy deletion nomination of Rodney Alcala
A tag has been placed on Rodney Alcala requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. That was supposed to be a userspace linkfarm. Too many tabs, plus copying the infobox off a different article results in me looking like quite an idiot. Bradjamesbrown (talk) 17:11, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Just to let you know that there's an easy way to decline submissions as its built into the template already. Also, using the collapsible one doesn't remove it from Category:Pending AfC submissions. Regards, fetchcomms☛ 00:08, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Disambig moves

Slow reversions
I saw the recent history of this page. Have you ever heard of "slow reversions"? I guess it's a variation on WP:DENY. The idea is to let a vandal get bored instead of doing tit-tat reversions. It sometimes makes more sense when WP:AIV isn't giving you a timely response. Just a thought.--Chaser (talk) 03:14, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
- No, I've actually never heard of such a thing. I'll definitely keep that in mind from now on, I don't think I've ever reverted someone as much as I have that person though...and then he evades his block. Thanks for alerting me to that.--SKATER Speak. 03:16, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
RfA
Hey, it's a little on the TL;DR side, but I hope you take a look at my comment in your RfA. I'm sorry I had to put it in the neutral section. Don't kick yourself too hard over that would-be-G10. Anyway, you've got a lot of good advice there from many editors I for one hold in very high esteem. I hope you use it to improve yourself as an editor and do feel free to drop a note on my talk page or send me an email if you want to chat! Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:05, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

- Good. As I said there, you'll make a great admin one day and I might even be persuaded to nominate you in a few months. RfA is a hell hole, but failing one isn't always a bad thing. My own failed in December but I got useful feedback from it. Let me know when you;re feeling masochistic again! Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 09:44, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

- Hey, I closed your RfA for you. I was passing by and saw your request. Sorry it wasn't too pleasant for you, but bear in mind what I said above. Btw, I cocked up the closing, but Fastily fixed it for me! You're welcome to drop me a line if you need anything or email me if you want to vent (RfA isn't nice- I've been there myself). Other than that, happy editing and best of luck next time, my friend. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:21, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- Takes more then a failed attempt to get me down, Thanks for closing it! I found the whole process to be entertaining (People opposed me on an age I never disclosed :/), as well as informative. I'm now going into Admin coaching with Fastily myself, so we'll see what happens. Best of luck, --SKATER Speak. 01:24, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- I couldn't think of a better admin to coach you and I'm certain someone will be able to say that about you one day. As for your age, as I said there, it's the third stupidest rationale I've heard in my ~13 months on here (the first is the classic "too many administrators currently" and the second is "it's a self nom")! If you distinguish yourself in your editing, people will have nothing to go on but the maturity of your contributions. Anyway, you're welcome to get in touch any time, but otherwise, drop me a line in ~4 months and, if Fastily can't or won't, I'll give some serious thought to nominating you! Fair use rationale for File:Shadow Company- Left For Dead.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Shadow Company- Left For Dead.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. ANI revert
Why? PanydThe muffin is not subtle 15:59, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- How the...I haven't been at ANI all day and I somehow revert...? I'm truly sorry...gonna change my password now just to be sure.--SKATER Speak. 16:01, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- I'll keep an eye on your contributions just in case someone got in. It didn't seem like something you would do. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 18:00, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, changed the password but I'm using a public network so who knows...For all I know I was half awake and accidently hit the roll back button :p I do apologize though.--SKATER Speak. 18:11, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Something for you!
The WikiJaguar Award for Excellence | ||
For being there. Whether to chip in or just to fix my stupidity! It's appreciated and not unnoticed. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:29, 17 April 2010 (UTC) |
- No problem, least I could do for you :). Thanks for the award.--SKATER Speak. 14:38, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
- Well it's always nice to have a friendly neighbourhood talk page stalker, especially when 55 people watch my page and I can't help but think many of them are waiting for me to screw up the mentoring thing. At least there's normally something interesting to read on there! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:45, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
- Haha, If I had to guess I'd say maybe two or three just watch my page but I only know one for certain. I can't blame you at all for MW going to ANI and I honestly think that it got blown a bit out of proportion. Was it the best move for him to make? No, he could of just put a note on his talk page to thank everyone but the community can be a bit blood thirsty...--SKATER Speak. 14:51, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's funny. I think I could guess the identities of 15 of mine, with 2 or 3 possibles, but I couldn't name the others (though I have my suspicions). Trying to get him blocked for thanking people for unblocking him is, as Xeno put it, asinine. I watch your page (so you don't need the talkback templates;) ) and I have my suspicions as to one or two others, but that would be speculation. Btw, do you know how to get the bot to create archives with roman numerals in the titles (not that it matters, I'm just being a pain in the arse. And I like roman numerals!)? Oh, and when will it do it? My talk page is absurdly long! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:17, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

- To the best of my knowledge you can't...you can make an archive box to make it appear with Roman numerals though. It should start archiving them when it reaches the specified amount....--SKATER Speak. 15:23, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Groove metal
Hello. I've changed by vote to a very weak keep. Your Washington Post article and the fact that Allmusic have used it on multiple occasions, might make it worth keeping. RG (talk) 18:24, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, I went ahead and closed that nomination as Speedy Keep per your nomination withdrawal and the mass amounts of Keeps. WP:SNOW--SKATER Speak. 19:50, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
Real Life
Hi Skater. Hope all is well. I wanted to let you know that I'm going to be unavailable from today until the 15th of May due to Real Life commitments. I'm sorry I'm telling you this so last minute, but reality is calling. That being said, admin coaching will have to be placed on hold for now I'm afraid. Sorry for the inconvenience. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 01:40, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
- No worries Fastily, take care of what you need to get done. I'll still be here, carrying on as usual :).--SKATER Speak. 03:57, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
UAA Reports
Hi there Skater. Thanks for reporting some new usernames at UAA; your enthusiasm is appreciated. However, some of the usernames which you have listed there do not completely appear to be promotional. Instead of listing them for a block with no evidence that they are spamming, maybe you could suggest a name change using {{uw-username}}. Thanks for your interest! ceranthor 20:55, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- Oooh! Look at the new admin telling people off! :P lol HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:23, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- Telling people off? And I wouldn't be talking, soon-to-be newest admin... ;) ceranthor 21:53, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- Hey, I've got another 12 hours to make fun of you! ;) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:15, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I was debating a lot of those myself.....I'll keep it in mind. congrats on both your RFA's. Regards,--SKATER Speak. 22:17, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
