June 2020[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Democracy and Progress Party, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 10:18, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Materialscientist:. I have provided references now which is their party program, and deleted the former info and its references as they weren't from the first hand but from liberal news sites that praise that type of politicians.

In this edit[1] you violated MOS:LINUX.

That's fine -- not everyone is aware of our guideline on the use of Linux and GNU/Linux -- but when I reverted you with a link to MOS:LINUX,[2] instead of agreeing to follow that guideline, you posted a rather aggressive message on my talk page,[3] threatening to WP:EDITWAR.

Please be WP:CIVIL, and when someone cites a Wikipedia guideline or policy, please read the guideline or policy and explain why you believe that it doesn't apply to you.

Related: Talk:Raspberry Pi#GNU/Linux. --Guy Macon (talk) 05:20, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Guy Macon:. I have replied to you over there. I wanna say the same stuff tho. GNU utilities' code being not much doesn't change the fact that they are/were critical. GNU project helped to the Linux kernel to become a widely used libre kernel at its very early development. Without the GNU utils, Linux just would be something like other crap Unix clones. The quantity doesn't matter but the quality does. --Comrade-yutyo (talk) 11:05, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is fine to discuss what to call Linux on Talk:Raspberry Pi#GNU/Linux -- the page where you tried to change it -- so I am going to avoid that topic here. I would, however, like to discuss something with you here on your talk page as opposed to a widely read page such as Talk:Raspberry Pi. I would like to discuss your behavior. Please read what I wrote above and respond. Do you think your behavior was appropriate? Why did you act as if I didn't give a reason for reverting you? Was the link to MOS:LINUX not clear? --Guy Macon (talk) 12:15, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

August 2020[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Prostitution in Poland‎; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. --John B123 (talk) 13:59, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@John B123: I have already stated my edit in the talk page, that how the current article is biased and my edit is neutral, yet you didn't engage in discussion and now threatening me to block. --Comrade-yutyo (talk) 14:30, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please read WP:BRD. When another editor disagrees with an edit and reverts it, it should be discussed on the talk page and the text of the article reverted to as it was before the contested change. It does not mean keep changing it to what you think it should be and then discuss it. --John B123 (talk) 14:40, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Barış Atay moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Barış Atay, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Unlicensed logos[edit]

Do not upload logos without a valid license as that is a copyright infringement! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 02:22, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Vif12vf: Hey, I have seen you have reverted many of my edits. Stuff I have added are made by me. They are vector illustrations of current official logos of those parties, which were actually in public domain with very low res. Them being copyright infringement doesn't make sense as their original low res versions are currently used in respectative pages under public domain. I have given labor to vectorize them and shared my work under CC-BY-SA04. There is no infringement. --Comrade-yutyo (talk) 14:24, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If they are indeed the actual logos used by the parties then you have to prove that their use is not a copyright infringement. You having made the files does not make it ok to use without the valid license! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 14:28, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Vif12vf: Since when vectorizing public images is unlicensed sharing and copyright infringement? I have done the logos myself and they are indeed the vectorized versions of their current logos, which are public domain! --Comrade-yutyo (talk) 14:31, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you make a picture and it is similar to another work, that may count as an infringement. Also, your word has no value as to the claim of the original logos being in public domain as you cannot use yourself as a source. You have to provide acctual proof that the logos you have copied are acctually in the public domain! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 14:36, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Vif12vf: I take images from Wikipedia, literally. I vectorize the images that are ALREADY shared here under CC-BY-SA 04 or any other CC license, which let me to do vectorization. There is no infringement to anything that is already on Wikipedia and reshared by my permission. Is that your reply to contribution, "comrade"? --Comrade-yutyo (talk) 14:40, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Vif12vf: here, I have also done one vectorization work for you. Taken the NA logo you have shared under public domain and vectorized it, resharing it under the same conditions. Is that copyright infringement?
Logo of Norsk Aksjon
If a logo is already on wikimedia, copying the design is redundant. Also, the logo of the NA is literally my own design, all rights to that image belongs to me! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 14:48, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Vif12vf: You have shared it under CC BY SA 4.0, which means anyone can modify it as long as they redistribute it with the same manners. Its a low-res design, as many other designs of respectable parties I have vectorized. What I do is a work that helps the wiki to have quality content and deserves an appreciation, but you revert my work for nothing and call me I do copyright infringements while its my work of restoration. I don't do any infringement. I don't copy design, I vectorize low-res designs shared under CC BY SA 4.0 JUST LIKE EVERYTHING SHARED HERE and redistribute them UNDER THE SAME MANNER. --Comrade-yutyo (talk) 14:54, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on CivicActions, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Speedy deletion nomination of Serhat Koç[edit]

Hello Comrade-yutyo,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Serhat Koç for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

John B123 The history for the page is vanished as well. Is it possible to do a recovery? I can provide proof for being able to use those lines, but they can be reduced if necessary. About satisfying Wikipedia criteria, Serhat Koç (attorney) has more viability than Serhat Koç (footballer), who has contributed to numerous academic papers. --Comrade-yutyo (talk) 08:47, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You would need to talk to the deleting admin, Discospinster, about recovering the article. A quick Google search doesn't suggest the academic is better known than the footballer. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 14:46, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Pirate Party of Turkey politicians requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

  • Comment - That navigation template is not a place to simply list people associated with the company. It is a navigational tool used to navigate to other relevant articles. There is no article on the person you are adding, therefore the link on the navigational page is pointless. That he is the OpenShift guy is not a reason to link a nonexisting article on a navigational template; there is nothing to navigate to. - Aoidh (talk) 18:28, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Aoidh The link is noexisting because some people decided its not notable for now while it has the objective potential of having the page in a near future as he is indeed among important people of the company that he is literally the CEO of it.--Comrade-yutyo (talk) 18:35, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and until there is an article, there doesn't need to be a link there. - Aoidh (talk) 18:38, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Aoidh there can be the link to encourage people to improve the draft to make it notable for current wiki criterie if possible as he indeed is for the company.--Comrade-yutyo (talk) 18:44, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You will need consensus to do that, especially since WP:EXISTING says not do. —C.Fred (talk) 18:45, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
C.Fred at least make it a blank text so maybe one day it may be linked. Just search the net on the guy and a new article is made about him since he became CEO. Its a matter of days until he completely meets the criteria and has a page.--Comrade-yutyo (talk) 19:01, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You can't just keep saying he's notable and then try to effect change on that basis. Notability is demonstrated, not claimed. As it stands, he's not notable. Being the CEO does not make him notable, nor does it even create a presumption of notability. The issue isn't that there aren't enough eyes on the draft, the issue is the subject of the draft just doesn't have significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject (WP:GNG). There could be 3,000 people looking at that draft and that wouldn't change anything if the sources aren't supporting notability. - Aoidh (talk) 18:51, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Aoidh stating that he is not notable is your and your friends' relative bias based on the biased perception of Wikipedia's notability principles. that are open to discussion, yet several references like Red Hat - ABB deal and another reference underlying his role on that met the criteria yet you guys decided it didn't. I want to ask other people about it!--Comrade-yutyo (talk) 18:58, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Does it not occur to you that if everyone else is saying one thing, and you alone are saying another thing, that maybe you're the one that's mistaken? It is not bias that leads people to say he's not notable, it is an understanding of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines on notability. You are welcome to ask anyone you want about it, but if you're going to accuse someone of bias, it would be advisable to provide evidence of that claim, per WP:ASPERSIONS. "Everyone but me is biased" is not a convincing argument, but by all means ask someone else, don't take my word for it. - Aoidh (talk) 19:10, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
