ArangoDB

I would kindly like to request to undelete this page. Sorry for not noticing earlier, I should have set a watch on the page. The concern given in the deletion log was "No indication of notability." I would like to argue against this.

ArangoDB is a modern, well-supported and popular open-source database.
On Github ( https://github.com/showcases/nosql-databases), ArangoDB has currently more stars than CouchDB, OrientDB and Basho Riak.

On DB-Engines (http://db-engines.com/de/ranking/graph+dbms), ArangoDB is ranked on position 5 for graph databases, which is better than Giraph, AllegroGraph, Stardog, Sqrrl, InfiniteGraph and Blazegraph.

Alexander Wong

if this is the Scouting personality from Hong Kong, I can make a case for notability -Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 14:47, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

@Kintetsubuffalo: That seems to be the case. It was deleted because it was an unsourced BLP. I have restored it to Draft:Alexander Wong. If you look a couple of revisions back in the history, you will see material related to scouting, which was removed because it was unsourced. ~Amatulić (talk) 15:22, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
Thanks, I will take a look and see what I can do!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 15:24, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
Amatulic Wow, that article was completely inverted, the Scouting stuff is what he's known for. I found some sources also for the law stuff, weeded out the puffery and tried to make it clear why he passes muster.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 16:51, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

Anila Ali

The page was deleted on the grounds that citations were not complete. The concern given in the deletion log was "No indication of notability." I would like to argue against this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AmberNG01 (talkcontribs) 20:07, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anila Ali, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Sarahj2107 (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review.

Dick Masterson

The page was deleted on account of the persona not being famous enough, the comedian behind the persona has since published a book and run a very successful podcast -Yuka Laka (talk) 17:13, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

Irrelevant. You need to show the persona itself is written about enough to justify its own article, otherwise it should just be a section in the comedian's own article. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 19:00, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
  •  Not done It is not worth restoring When I deleted it, the prior to blanking content was "Dick Masterson is an Anti-Feminist, Webmaster, American and a Jew. He is completely serious. " with no citation. It will be better to start writing from scratch. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:17, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

Joel Tobeck

This was just speedied as "Unambiguous advertising or promotion" and I'm completely baffled - Joel Tobeck is a notable Australian actor of many years (and has had an article for many years!) who's been in a bunch of things and had the lead role in his own series. How was this deleted, let alone speedied? -The Drover's Wife (talk) 01:56, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

  • This was speedied by JzG. Offhand the page isn't the worst I've seen, but it does have a resume-esque tone to it, which is likely why JzG speedied it. It has stuff like as follows:
Joel Tobeck (born June 2, 1971 in Auckland, New Zealand), has over 20 years acting experience in New Zealand and Australia.
An accomplished musician, singer and songwriter, he shares this interest with friend & star of The Doctor Blake Mysteries, Craig McLachlan...
These are the type of statements you typically see on a resume geared towards promoting the person in hopes of getting more work. Again, not the worst I've seen but it is pretty pervasive throughout the article. I've tagged JzG - maybe he can send it to your userspace for cleanup? Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:38, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
Tobeck is a nationally well-known actor currently co-starring in a primetime drama series. Speedy deletion is not an alternative to a cleanup tag on a plainly notable person: we don't just going around deleting articles on notable people willy-nilly without discussion because the article needs a bit of work. The Drover's Wife (talk) 08:27, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
  • That's something to take up with JzG. It was deleted as G11, so technically it doesn't fall under the REFUND banner. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:12, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
  • Personally I'd have just re-written it, but again - that's something to take up with JzG. We can always create a new version, though. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:13, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
  • I've put together a new article minus the prose portion. I did steal the tables since I didn't want to have to re-write all of that. Feel free to flesh it out as needed. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:37, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
No need to restore the writing of the subject's PR, your version is massively better and there's nothing obvious missing other than peacock terms. Guy (Help!) 09:46, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

Dinclix GroundWorks

The page was deleted under A7/G11, number one, the article was written in a neutral tone. Number two, the company is notable. There was no talk or discussion done before deletion. -TheodoreIndiana (talk) 10:23, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

  •  Not done Speedy deletes don't get discussions. Although the page was not very promotional, there was no claim of importance, and the lack of independent reliable references did not bode well for notability. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:46, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
  • The company is notable, the article should be rewritten.

Template:AFL 2015 win loss table

The reasoning for the deletion was unused and redundant to 2015_AFL_season#Win.2FLoss_table and the admin stated WP:REFUND applies with a soft delete. For some reason a user removed the template on the page in this edit [1] without explanation, and I didn't notice it was removed until this nomination (note I was on holiday during the TfD and I didn't see it in time). This template is supposed to be in use in the same caliber as Template:AFL2015ladderprogression on 2015 AFL season, if undeleted I'll add it back so the template is in use. -Flickerd (talk) 13:29, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

Draft:Hillier Parker May and Rowden

Because the article has been greatly improved since it was first deleted. -Philjones573 (talk) 22:13, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

It turns out that the article was "userfied" to a draft (draftified?), so the page history is already available in the draft by the above user – so there's no need for undeletion. (I was unaware of this, as was apparently the AfC reviewer.)--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:30, 31 October 2016 (UTC)–
So advice for requestor about Draft:Hillier Parker May and Rowden is to find better sources that show notability and then resubmit for AFC assessment again. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:12, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

Biswanath district and Biswanath Chariali are different pages

Biswanath district is curved out from Sonitpur district recently and Biswanath Chariali is its district headquarter. The page was deleted doubting duplicate, but both are actually different. The district is created in 2016, the page was a stub and need to input information. For more information : List of districts of Assam. -P.Phukan 15:38, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

  • Hnic52, I'm going to ping Ymblanter on this one since it was deleted via AfD back in August 2016. The most recent version that was deleted was only a redirect, so there's nothing to restore there. In any case, since this was deleted via AfD it falls out of the scope of what can be restored here. If Ymblanter declines to restore it then there's always WP:DRV. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:57, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
I only deleted it because the AfD ws closed by Mbisanz as delete, but he forgot to actually delete the article. I do not think I ever edited the article or came across it in any way. But the AfD seems legit, and I would indeed suggest to take it to DRV for proper discussion (though I would not object if someone restore it either).--Ymblanter (talk) 06:37, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
Or recreation with sources is another option.--Ymblanter (talk) 06:38, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

Adeeb Ahamed

I would like the page to be rewritten to conform to Wikipedia regulations. I believe Adeeb Ahamed is a noted businessman, who has been in the news for some high profile deals including that of the purchase of the Great Scotland Yard in London. Beyond that, he is an integral part of one of the world's largest retailers - Lulu Group International, which once again puts him in the limelight of the business community around the world. If you could assist me in writing the article to conform to Wikipedia standards, I would be highly obliged -Nishathn (talk) 08:17, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

  • It looks like it was also deleted for unambiguous promotion as well. This isn't the most promotional article I've ever seen, but it does have a lot of PR speak intended to play up Ahamed and will need some re-writes to clean this out. On that note, do you have a conflict of interest in this situation? Seraphimblade will want to know this before they consider restoring the page. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 08:21, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

Glenn Bahr

Not a hoax (e.g., [this] -Debouch (talk) 15:03, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

The deleted article is a BLP and the source you give supports this. While PRODs are normally uncontroversial restorations, I'd suggest that you start the article from scratch, also because each source there is broken. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 16:12, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
  • I also have to caution you about the section about Bahr's arrest. There are a lot of extensive quotes where he says a lot of racist and homophobic statements. Be careful because this could be seen as giving that section undue weight. Typically we summarize everything into a few sentences by saying something like "Part of the complaint against Bahr is derived from his posts on both the WCFU forum and Stormfront forum where he refers to First Nations peoples as "vermin", advocated killing homosexuals and the mentally disabled, and spoke of his admiration for Hitler." This gets the same point across without the need to list each and every quote. The other thing to take into consideration is how much coverage he has for his arrest and other complaints. Wikipedia is kind of leery about including information about arrests and similar legal issues unless there's a ton of coverage because it could pose a WP:BLP issue. In other words, you have to show where the legal issues are worth going into detail about and not just making a broader statement like "Bahr has received criticsm for his statements and activity with WCFU. In 2004 his residence was raided by the Edmonton police, where they seized computer hard drives, Nazi flags, and books promoting white supremacy. The WCFU website was shut down and disbanded soon after the raid. The following year Bahr was arrested by the Edmonton Hate Crimes Unit and the preliminary hearing against him began on January 23, 2006. The hearing adjourned four days later and was continued in October of the same year. During this time the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal brought complaints against Bahr. Part of this complaint was based on his posts on both the WCFU forum and Stormfront forum where he refers to First Nations peoples as "vermin", advocated killing homosexuals and the mentally disabled, and spoke of his admiration for Hitler. On December 1, 2006 the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal found Bahr and his group Western Canada For Us both guilty of violating the Canadian Human Rights Act prohibition against distributing hate propaganda through the Internet. Each were fined $5,000 and permanent injunctions were issued against them prohibiting such conduct in the future backed up by the Federal Court's power to punish through fines and imprisonment for contempt of court." I know that you didn't write the article but if you're interested in recreating this then the arrest section is going to be tricky.
This would need to be tweaked, but that's essentially all that needs to be included in that section. I'd heavily recommend that if/when you re-write this that you get help from the BLP noticeboard and/or someone who is savvy with controversy sections like this. Something else to take into consideration is that Bahr doesn't seem to be indepenently notable outside of his affiliation with the WCFU, so he might not actually merit an article of his own since the WCFU already has a page and a good portion of the information that was on Bahr's page is already in the WCFU article. To be honest, if this had gone up for AfD instead of PROD it likely would've ended with a merge and redirect. I think it might be a better idea for you to work on fleshing out the page for the organization. I know that Kouba has an article, but the same concerns apply there as well. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 03:31, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
@Tokyogirl79: Thanks for that. Having looked into this further, though, I find that I too would have let this PROD expire – not because of a "hoax" or "dead links" – but because a PROD lets me infer any reason I want. Here, that would be, as you suggest, notability. Debouch (talk) 20:01, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

Article submitted for Collins Archie-Pearce to be reviewed by Wikipedia administrator for publishing, but was declined and nominated for deletion by Coren stating that the article appears to include material copied directly from a website address http//archiepearceproduction.com. That website is Collins Archie-Pearce’s website and a copyright release has been made by him (Collins Archie-Pearce), donating the copyright for everyone to use, which is now on his website and he has also sent an email to Wikipedia to that effect. • Kintetsubuffalo: Typically we don't restore A7s here, as that's something you'd have to request from the deleting admin. Since Yunshui isn't really active anymore, I'm going to go ahead and make a bit of a decision on his behalf. Since you say that you can assert notability, I'm going to send this to your userspace at User:Kintetsubuffalo/Ilyas Ismayilli. So Done. Just don't move it back to the mainspace until notability has been asserted, yada yada. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 03:35, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
@Tokyogirl79:Thanks yada yada! I've noticed a lot of the folks who were around aren't around anymore. I've been here too long. Are you still in Tokyo? Thanks from Hiroshima!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 03:40, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
  • LOL, actually I'm a white girl living in the United States. I took this username years ago on another site (can't remember which one), after the site's sign up page recommended that I create a username based on one of my favorite songs, which was then Ace of Base's Tokyo Girl. I occasionally toy with the idea of changing it, but at this point it's kind of what I'm known for. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 03:49, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
@Tokyogirl79:LOL! Okay, fixed the article, turns out the subject did not write it, someone else did, got the facts wrong, I sourced it and contacted the subject, translated the Azeri Wikipedia, got his birthplace right and a photo! Win, and thanks again!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 04:40, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

User:GeoffreyT2000/AfD arguments

I have requested this to be deleted under WP:CSD#U1, but now I would like it to be undeleted so that I can continue adding in AfD votes for articles such as Narek Aslanyan. -GeoffreyT2000 (talk, contribs) 01:14, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

Iorworth Hoare

Article was deleted as per CSD:G4, however it completely failed the test of ' sufficiently identical copies', given that the AFD took place in 2008 and the articles cannot have been similar. -Sumbuddi (talk) 05:17, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

  • Well... the thing about G4 is that it can also apply to articles where any changes to the content do not address the reasons for which the material was deleted. It's also kind of a tricky situation here since there are also concerns of WP:BLP as far as an article about Hoare goes. He committed horrible crimes that gained him media attention, but you have to show where these crimes have enough enduring notability to where they'd pass WP:NCRIME - and this is a very high bar to pass. This article received worldwide coverage but wasn't deemed notable enough for an article, nor was the article on Kai the hitchhiker. It looks like the guy received some coverage since 2008 for a flashing charge that was later dropped, but I don't really see where the article would be kept had Anthony Appleyard declined the speedy and opened up a new AfD. You can ask Anthony Appleyard if he'll restore the page and if he won't, WP:DRV is your best bet here. I just really think though, that any restoration would be temporary since you don't really show where his past crimes and the ones since 2008 pass WP:GNG or WP:NCRIME. That's the sort of thing you typically need academic sourcing, to show that it was of Amanda Knox proportions, or at the very least, sourcing that shows that the crime was particularly landmark, like it was the first of its type or the first to use a specific technique. File was deleted under "F5: Unused non-free media file" back in June 2016, as it had been replaced by the school's seal. However, recently there has been a discussion to restore the shield. There is currently a PNG version, but the vector version is much cleaner and would be much better for the article. Thanks, -Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 15:17, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

AWC G2A

Rare historical records summarily deleted -SEMMERLING (talk) 13:44, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

Profoundly concerning that the article about the AWC G2 could be summed up in such an uninformed and caviler manner as "nothing important about this model" and deleted.

It is a simple formula folks:

IF - Wiki would like to have the very people that worked on these projects provide extraordinary insight and materials to WIKI including photographs taken by the authors, accounts given by the authors, then great care has to be given to weed out the appropriateness and competency of those that come in later and make sweeping and wholly inaccurate generalizations that end up in the articles deletion.

No - This was never a "kit" and parts were not "simply swapped out." If anyone ever had the opportunity to view the original AWC G2 rifle and made such a statement, eyes would role, glances would occur throughout the team and this person would have been not so gently shown the broom closet to find something to do in the shop. The gas system was heavily modified, the trigger system was completely replaced, It took four generations to work out the scope mount and new barrel arrangements, the stock was in and of itself a personal project of America's then most respected stock maker, and on and on and on. It was tested as a sniper rifle and was carried by some as late as Desert Storm. In fact, the photographed rifle in the wiki article was the very rifle lost by the first to received public acknowledgement that American soldiers to die in Desert Storm. But those that deleted this article don't know ANYTHING about this rifle except what they could sum up by "searching" on the web. Wake up time! THAT IS WHY WE HAVE WIKI! That is EXACTLY why WIKI is precious.

Yes - The reason why there is so little on the AWC G2 has to do with the program nature of the project, the understandings of the parties involved. And here, RIGHT HERE, we find the most devastating part of deletions like this, a complete and utter misunderstanding and disregard for how rare and valuable historical information is when finally made part of the WIKI repository.

A simple test must be made in regard to ALL deletions if those of us how were THERE and work on articles like this and many others are to remain the least bit interested in the work involved and funding made available:

1. Are the people deleting competent? And how does anyone know this? The people on this one know absolutely nothing about the G2 program, if they did they would wholly embarrassed. 2. Have they personally ever been involved with or participated on any aspect of historical products and processes? Clearly not. 3. Have all the authors that worked on an article been contacted to comment on what the criteria is for deletion? No, they were not.

If the measure of what REMAINS is how much public information there is on any given subject...well dear friend....we certainly do NOT need Wiki.

Followed WIKI a long long time, wrote many articles, been generous in time and donations......and...with that... I am done.

Note: The page was deleted as a result of a deletion debate. Admins will not undelete pages that were deleted with discussion here; go to WP:Deletion review or contact the administrator that closed the deletion debate instead. Your words above betray a complete misunderstanding of how Wikipedia works. First off, like any other encyclopædia, Wikipedia content must be based off of reliable third-party sources. If there are no existing reliable sources, whether in military, milsurp, firearm, or similar magazine sources (I heavily doubt newspaper sources would be present here, but specialist publications definitely would) then we cannot have an article. Secondly, editors are not required to notify every editor of a particular article that's up for deletion, since in many cases this would be a lot of editors both named and IP, and there is no guarantee that they're all even active in the topic area, depending on how long it's been since their last edit to the page and whether or not they are under sanctions which forbid them participating in AfDs on the subject. Thirdly, attacking the competence or motives of the people who voted to delete the page is highly inappropriate unless you have evidence. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 17:48, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
