Simultaneously Zubiya belonged to a conservative family where her father kills her mother in anger and no one can stand against him. Series is penned on their journey which changes their life overtime.[3][4]

Synopsis
The story starts with Zubia Khalil, a young girl mourning over her mother's sudden death caused by her father's physical violence. She has an elder brother Rehan and his wife Sheema. Her father Khalil has threatened all of them to keep their mouths shut about the cause of their mother's death. Khalil is a fiery and conservative person who has accidentally killed his wife by slapping her because she disobeyed him. The incident happened because Zubia needed to visit her friend's house for some errand and insisted her mother accompany her. Her mother had been forbidden by her father to leave the house with their driver. When her father discovered the incident he slapped her so hard she went sprawling down and the back of her head hit the bed, killing her instantly. Zubia's aunt Mahjabin arrives at the time and consoles the deeply devastated Zubia.
The second storyline involves a family in Islamabad, where a family is celebrating their son Daniyal's wedding with his cousin Geti. Daniyal is a young lawyer who has recently graduated from London and also an extremely practical and honest person. Asfandyar is Daniyal's younger brother who would leave for Karachi for medical studies after his brother's wedding. He is a lively and comical person and ambitious as well. The family maintains a significant reputation among society as Usman (Daniyal and Asfandyar's father) is a successful lawyer too. Asfandyar is engaged to his other cousin Faryal. Her father Asfand's father's brother.
The third storyline involves Noori, a naive girl living in a rural village of Sindh. Noori is kidnapped by a minister's son Jehangir Shah, who tragically gang rapes her with his two friends. She is rescued the next day by a man who brings her to the hospital where the doctor calls her family and informs them of the incident. Eventually the family decides to stay mute since they are poor and unable to bring allegation against a minister. Noori's father goes to the police station to report against Jehangir Shah for raping Noori but instead the police threaten him. After the incident, Noori's family is insulted in the village so Noori decides to take revenge on Jehangir and his friends. She runs away from her house and is found by and taken to Karachi by Rumana, an NGO lady in Karachi. Rumana informs Daniyal about the Noori gang-rape incident. Daniyal travels to Karachi, meets Noori and decides to file a case against Jehangir Shah and his friends.
On the other side, Zubia tells her aunt that her father is responsible for her mother's death. After Mahjabeen blames Khalil for murdering her sister, he throws her out of his house. Khalil slaps Zubia for letting her aunt in on the secret about her mother's death. In college, Zubia participates in an audition to perform as Anarkali; Zubia performs well and is chosen to perform at the function. Zubia performs at function without the knowledge of her family. After seeing her perform, Ramiz (who happened to be Asfandyar's neighbour) starts to like her. He buys Zubia a phone so he could talk to her. Ramiz told her he will free her from the cage of her father by marrying her secretly. Ramiz took Zubia to his apartment after school one day and he told her he has called his close family and a few friends as well as a Moulvi for nikkah (marriage). Ramiz secretly mixes drugs in a glass of juice and brings it to Zubia. When he tries to force her to drink it, she realizes that no one is coming. Ramiz tries to molest her but she runs out of the door only to bump into Asfandyar. She is saved by Asfandyar who arrives on the scene just as she manages to get out of the main door. She would otherwise have been chased and overpowered. Thus Asfand has done a great service to Zubia but he doesn't approve of her irresponsible behaviour and tells her so, adding, "I may not be there to rescue you if you repeat the mistake". The background of her error lies in the death of her mother at a tender age. Also when she is being wooed by that villain her sister-in-law listens in at her door and knows of her plans to run away but remains silent to ensure Zubia's fall from grace. It is she who purposely informs the extended family of Zubia's disappearance even though it as events panned out it could easily have remained a secret. When Zubia reaches her house, Rehan slaps her, for running away from home while her father remains silent. Zubia goes to her father's room to tell him the truth. Zubia says she did run away with him but she did not marry him. Her father told her it was his fault as he used to be abusive towards her mother.
In Islamabad, Daniyal files a case against Jehangir Shah who is finally arrested. When Usman came to know about Daniyal being involved in gang-rape case, he tried to stop Daniyal for getting involved in this case specially fighting against Rab Nawaz, the minister, who is Jehangir's father. Daniyal did not listen to his father and kept fighting for justice. Daniyal hired a secretary, Urooj, who was actually sent by Rab Nawaz to spy on him and hide all the evidences against Jehangir Shah. One night, 2 men were sent by Rab Nawaz Shah to scare Daniyal to stop him but without success. Daniyal had a doubt on Urooj as he cannot receive all the evidences against Jehangir Shah. He told his friend who was a policeman to spy on Urooj. Usman and Lubna's (Daniyal and Asfandyar's mother) wedding anniversary was close so Asfandyar, Daniyal, Geti and Faryal had secretly planned their surprise wedding anniversary party. During the party, Daniyal was about to leave his office when his secretary stopped him by falsely telling him that she has found another important evidence against Jehangir. The policeman told everything about Urooj to Daniyal: that she is the girlfriend of one of Rab Nawaz Shah′s minions. When Daniyal asked her who has sent her, she smeared her lipstick and tore her clothes and cried that he is trying to molest her. The police came and arrested Daniyal, and Usman was called to the police station. Usman and Asfandyar went to see what was happening. Faryal′s father who was Usman′s brother blamed Daniyal for spoiling their self-respect. Daniyal was bailed out the next morning and the media was everywhere. Usman was angry at Daniyal as he stayed involved in rape-case against Jehangir despite his father′s warning. Later, he went with the policeman to find all evidences against Urooj to prove he did not molest Urooj but it was Rab Nawaz Shah′s planning. He found all evidences against Urooj. When policeman was back home, he was shot to death. The next day, Daniyal went to his office to find all evidences against Jehangir Shah that Urooj had hidden from Daniyal. As he almost found all the evidences and went inside his office room, 3 people were sent from Rab Nawaz, Daniyal took his revolver out, 1 of the person snatched the revolver and shot Daniyal to death, leaving him in a way that showed he committed suicide, leaving a note on the laptop, apologizing to his parents, brother and wife for embarrassing them and apologizing to Urooj for abusing her. Just before leaving home, Daniyal had had another debate with Geti because she was terrified of losing him after the thinly veiled threats his father was receiving. He meets Asfand on his way out and when Asfand attempts to remonstrate with him he expresses his disappointment that Asfand doesn't know his brother well enough. It must be noted here that while Asfand is still a student, Daniyal is already his father's pride and joy for his professional success. Later, Usman and Asfandyar came to see what happened to Daniyal. Daniyal's dead body was brought to hospital for autopsy to see if it is murder or suicide. It was proved suicide. After buring Daniyal, the whole family was depressed. Later, Jehangir Shah was bailed from jail with his friends and they were celebrating and Rab Nawaz Shah was promising people to facilitate his village by building roads and hospitals. At the same moment, Noori came along with a gun and shot Rab Nawaz, Jehangir and his friends to death for justice.
Khalil, according to Zubia's wish, gets her enrolled at a medical school though Rehan was against it. Usman decided to continue their remaining lives living in their homeland Kashmir, away from their past of grieves. Asfandyar leaves for America for specialization and Geti, Usman and Lubna along with Daniyal's son Saim start living in Kashmir. Khalil unfortunately had met with an accident and was paralyzed.
5 years later Zubia is shown a doctor while taking care of her ill father. Asfandyar is now a grown up mature surgeon. Saim is 5 years old. Geti's mother and Lubna keep trying to convince Geti to remarry, either Asfandyar or any other person, but she refuses. Asfandyar decides to open a hospital in Kashmir so that he can also spend his life with his family and serve the locals by giving free treatment. On the other side Khalil wanted Zubia to marry but was unable to do this for his daughter and he died. Zubia is again left alone in her own home. Before dying Khalil gave his home and all the gold to Zubia which has left Sheema envious. She planned of getting rid of Zubia by inviting her cousin at home and schemed of character assassination of Zubia. Sheema's cousin followed Zubia into her room one late night and when Zubia called loudly for her brother and he and Sheema came into the room, Sheema's cousin said that Zubia had called him with the excuse that she needed her laptop fixed at this hour, and that if he didn't agree to her wishes she would call out for her brother. On Sheema's coaxing Rehan believed him. But Zubia had had enough and yelled at him that she would not take the blame for anything else, as well as calling him out for his cowardice. Rehan told Sheema to kick Zubia out of her own home. Zubia heartbrokenly took the train late in the night and went to Peshawar to her aunt, Mahjabin. She takes on a job in a small dispensary for want of her preferred prospect of working in a hospital, so as not to be a burden on her aunt. She is insulted there by her cousin's (Mahjabin's son) wife who thinks her husband is interested in Zubia because he told her Zubia was his mothers first choice as daughter-in-law (Zubia's father kept refusing and when he finally asked his for Zubia to get married to Mahjabin's son, she had already fixed her son's marriage elsewhere). Therefore, Zubia leaves for Kashmir and starts working in a hospital (owned by Asfandyar). Zubia and Asfandyar do not recognize each other (Asfandyar was the person who had saved Zubia from getting raped many years ago) though Zubia feels vaguely that she had seen him somewhere. They work together, and Asfandyar is very strict towards all his employees including Zubia.
Asfand has lost his sense of humour by the loss of his brother who was a hero to him and then the defection of his fiancée who made it clear she did not want to be part of a tainted family. He is very gentle with his patients and he has made his father proud by the building of a hospital free for the locals, but his stored up bitterness shows up in his extraordinary strictness toward his subordinates, chief amongst them being Zubia. Zubia has been hired despite a lack of sufficient experience for her passion and therefore makes a few mistakes that Asfand rather harshly reprimands her for. At the same time Zubia meets Geti in the park and they become friends. When Geti hears Zubia's description of Asfand as a tyrant, calling him names like Hitler and Changez Khgan, she hides her relationship to him. Zubia gets annoyed when she finds out at tea at their home that Asfand is actually Get's brother-in-law, thinking Asfand will assume she's insinuating herself with his family but easily reconciles with Geti.
Zubia also makes friends with the sister-in-law of a hospital's support staff member when she's brought in almost dying of her injuries by her beating husband. Her name is Khajista. At the same time Asfand starts receiving reports of Zubia's efficient handling of difficult situations. One day at the end of a health camp by the hospital when they are leaving together they encounter an emergency in the village. Zubia succeeds in her first sole delivery of a child with a landslide preventing an ambulance and not much equipment at hand. Asfand is vastly impressed and says so. When their host reprimands their daughter for spilling tea on Zubia she requests him not to, saying his daughter's emotions are worth more than her clothes. That statement stays with Asfand who has a restless night failing to remain indifferent and the next day reverts to his former curt manner with Zubia despite having seen her off with a lot of praise and even an offer to give her the morning off. Just before the camp, Zubia has already remembered that Asfand is her saviour of years past and has been so ill with fear that he may find out that even Asfand who had summoned her to tick her off for being missing from duty is deeply concerned and sends her away on leave. Zubia knows the first thing Asfand said upon hiring her was that he can tolerate many things but not lying. Dr. Asfandyar remains a bit harsh and strict with Zubia sometimes but eventually he turns soft towards her Meanwhile, Geti reveals her past and Daniyal's tragic death to Zubia and tells her how it affected them all, especially Asfand. There she came to know about Faryal and became interested in who she is. Then one day Saim (Geeti's son) is injured and Zubia comes to handle the situation. Asfand also arrives and his mother forces Zubia to stay until dinner. When Asfand is driving Zubia back to her mess they have a friendly conversation which unexpectedly ended in Asfand's confession that he enjoys Zubia's company. Later that night Asfandyar keeps on thinking about Zubia. Meanwhile, Usman (Asfand's father) realizes that Zubia is a perfect match for Asfand and consults his wife Lubna to talk to Geti about Zubia. Zobia convinces Geti to join their hospital as a nutritionist and Asfand is touched by her effort as he was unable to convince his sister–in–law to do this job before. Now Asfand starts to develop feelings for Zubia and gets jealous when he sees another doctor jokingly flirt with Zubia. He comes to her help when she is injured and gives her treatment. Asfand's family came to know that Faryal is coming to live with them for a few days and they are furious especially Asfand's mom. But Asfand remains steadfast and calm and welcomes Faryal normally as if nothing happened. Faryal reveals that she is divorced. Meanwhile, Zubia also falls for Asfand and is jealous of Faryal. Asfand's mother invites Zubia for tea. Zubia gets jealous seeing Faryal and Asfand coming home together. She abruptly says she needs to leave. Asfand follows her and asks if she's angry at him and she asks why that would be. He replies, because of Faryal. Zubia says nothing but he can tell that that is the reason.
Dr. Haroon (another doctor) develops feelings for Geti.
Asfi's mom asks him if he likes Zubia and he says yes.
Urooj's son has an accident while he is drunk and driving so he is operated in Asfi's hospital. Asfi recognizes who she is. Asfi gets very emotional and starts throwing things around. A doctor comes in his room and tells him that Barrister Usman called. Urooj, who is standing outside overhears. She recognizes the name as the father of Daniyal who she got murdered. She gets extremely guilty and remembers everything. Asfi realizes why he is a doctor and he is here to help people. He gives an oath which was very heart-wrenching. He goes to do surgery and Urooj's son is safe. Urooj gets a press conference arranged in which she says that all those accuses on Daniyal are not real. She gives this immediately the day after she recognizes Asfi. Asfi's whole family watch it.
Usman is invited to a seminar in which he gives a speech about how he felt about everything. On the way back he tells Asfi that he wants him to get married to Zubia. That night Zubia calls and asks where he is. He tells her but before that he asks her why she is awake at 1 am. Next he asks her if she gets worried about him. She says yes and realizes she has confessed, before abruptly shutting the phone.
Asfi's mom B.P is high so she calls Zubia. Zubia checks and tells her it is fine. She asks about her family and asks about her aunt's address. Zubia asks why she needs it. Then Zubia realizes what Asfi's mom wants (to ask her aunt for Zubia's marriage to Asfand). When she leaves, she sits down and thinks that she doesn't deserve Asfi because of her past.
It is later shown that Zubia comes to meet Asfi in his office and wants to discuss what's going on between them, she tells him that his mum asked for her Khalas address, Asfi interrupts her midway and says he was going to talk to her about this but it's fine if his mother has done it first and then says that he and Zubia should get married. Zubia is shocked and says that they have never mentioned anything about marriage and that she doesn't want to get married to him or anyone else, when asfi asks why, she says she's not accountable to him. Just as the tension is rising, a nurse comes in and says khajista has been shot and is critical, both asfi and Zubia rush to help out and khadijsta is saved. Asfi realises that this is what daaniyal fought for (women's rights ) so he and his dad fight for justice, and they succeed, khadijstas husband is imprisoned. Dr Haroon speaks to Gaeti about marriage and tells her that he has also lost his wife they become very emotional. Later that night when asfi is at home he looks through some of his old books in search of one of his dad's books and instead finds zubias college ID card that he had found in his building after saving Zubia from Ramiz. He realises who Zubia is and begins to uncover the truth about her past.
In last episode, Gaiti tells Asfandyar to tell Zubia that they will go to her aunt's house this weekend to talk about their marriage. Asfandyar tells Gaiti and Lubna who enters to cancel the wedding. Gaiti calls Zubia to ask her if everything is alright between both of them. While she is on the call, Zubia spots her brother at the hospital reception asking for her. Asfand, now knowing about Zubia's brother, invites him into his office and calls for Zubia. Zubia disconnects the phone and makes her way through the hospital corridors.
During this, Zubia's brother tells doctor Asfandyar that he is ashamed of his behaviour with Zubia when she was young girl. He says that he misunderstood Zubia and asked her to leave their house. Doctor Asfandyar tells Zubia's brother that he loves Zubia and he wants to marry her.
After it, an employee comes to Asfandyar's office and tells that Dr.Zubia is gone from hospital. Asfandyar goes out to look for her and finds out that she was near the counter but abruptly left with no notice. He asks the guard which direction she went in, and follows her in his car. He finds that she is standing at the edge above the fast flowing Jhelum River. He warns her not to jump and runs towards her but he is too late; she has jumped into the river.
He rescues Dr. Zubia feels who feels ashamed and excuses Dr.Asfandyar for the suicide attempt. Doctor Asfandyar and Zubia cry and confess with a hug where doctor Asfand promises her that he'll marry her and will always keep her happy, restoring her faith in life (Yakeen).
After one year, Barrister Usman Ali (Asfandyar's father) wins the case of Khajista (who was shot by her husband Bahadurshah), Khajista starts studying and she gives her matriculation examination in order to carry on her studies in which Zubia helps her. Gaiti and Dr.Haroon are married now. Doctor Asfandyar and Doctor Zubia live their married life happily ever after.
