San Francisco meetup at WMF headquarters

Hi Juhachi,

I just wanted to give you a heads-up about the next wiki-meetup happening in SF. It'll be located at our very own Wikimedia Foundation offices, and we'd love it if some local editors who are new to the meetup scene came and got some free lunch with us :) Please sign up on the meetup page if you're interested in attending, and I hope to see you soon! School Days

Thanks for cleaning up the article a bit. I don't like using those mini-flags either, they're ugly, lol. And I couldn't figure out how to get rid of that (visual novel) in the external links. Valce Talk 07:42, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

I was going through the anime/manga page and checked out the Rewrite (visual novel) article. I happened to see some of what I wrote in the School Days article in the lead. Inspiration :) ? Valce Talk 07:14, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, I appreciate hearing that from you actually. I've never met you personally but I've often seen your edit histories in other articles so I know you're a frequent contributor. It took me just over a week to rewrite the entire School Days article from scratch and find creditable references; I've always liked the series, and I know that the article has been in a state of disrepair for almost a year. In fact it's the biggest article I ever worked on, lol. I'm currently working on fixing up the episode list, as there's no citations and the summaries are kinda overstated. I got the idea for the System requirements from video game articles, glad that was a good addition. As for Cross Days, the reviewer did question Getchu as a reliable source; I looked up the site's Alexa rank and because it was so low, I was able to convince him that Getchu had enough of a name in the business that their sales would, more-or-less, accurately measure the popularity of a game. Anyway, glad to make your acquaintance and that my edits inspired you :)
P.S.: Just saw the note about the LxH, I'll take a look shortly, thanks. Valce Talk 10:48, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

Elfen Lied

Hey there,

I'm going to get started on Elfen Lied since it is in horrible shape. I have a question though:

I've met dozens of people who mispronounce "Lied" as "Lie-d" instead of "Leed". If I provide a Japanese IPA footnote proving the correct pronunciation (as "Lie-d" would be written "Raito" and not "Rito"), can I add it after the Japanese spelling in the lead?

Thanks, Valce Talk 05:00, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

That seems fine to me, though the nihongo template already shows what the correct pronunciation is, so adding an IPA footnote may be redundant.-- 05:04, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

School Days group image

Hi again :)

I'm putting Elfen Lied on hold for the moment since I'd like to clean up the List of School Days characters article, thereby completing all three of the serie's articles. I have a question however.

I'd like to add an image of as many characters portrayed throughout the entire franchise as possible. I have not been able to find one genuinely produced by 0verflow of this however. That being said, if I were to create my own using high-quality images and proficient use of Photoshop, is there an appropriate license I could use that 1. Renounces me as the creator of the characters and gives full credit to 0verflow/Stack and 2. Complies with fair use?

Thanks! Valce Talk 06:21, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

I know composite images of images in the public domain is allowed, as can be seen on any broad subject, like animal. I'm not so sure about fair use images, but I'd have to say it'd probably be frowned upon, especially if you were to take the article to WP:FLC. I tried looking in the archives at WP:IUP and WP:HD with no luck, and IUP itself says nothing about it. You might want to open a discussion at WT:IUP about it. For your questions, if the images were not altered (merely rearranged and positioned onto a single composite image), 0verflow would still be the owner of those images. I don't think it'd comply with fair use, but I could be wrong.-- 06:58, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
What about the IUP section on collages and montages? Valce Talk 07:31, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Ah, I missed that. Well, doesn't that section answer your question though? It says "fair-use components are rarely appropriate". You still might ask on the talk page in this specific circumstance.-- 09:43, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

Your opinion on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Juhachi. About a week ago, I started a discussion on whether terminology sections are beneficial to the over-all quality of the article, or if the violate any Wikipedia policy or guideline, such as WP:FICTION, MOS:ANIME, WP:CRUFT, WP:NOTDIC, WP:INDISCRIMINATE or WP:TRIVIA. Your opinion on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and happy editing! Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 05:35, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

List of Cardthings

I appreciate the refimprove tag, I guess. I'm trying to count decent, reliable sources (Amazon can verify stuff like release dates, BTW, not more) but can find only a couple. Of the 26 references, 18 are from Amazon. That's pretty pathetic, esp. given that the article is over 100,000 bytes long. You can mention all the FAs you want, but there aren't FAs that are so long and have such poor sourcing--but this is a quality of most of the anime articles here. Drmies (talk) 02:59, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

So for a while, I have doing little grammar fixes here and there, but do you think my contributions have been good so far? I don't think I have the experience to expand it any further, so are you willing to improve this article to at least C or B status? Kawada is a very beautiful and talented singer, and I don't think that she deserves an article like this. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:17, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

The article is looking better, but it would take a lot of work to get it to C or B. Kawada has a pretty long singing career spanning about the last decade, so there'd be a lot of cover. She's also one of my favorite singers, so I might do it eventually, but it's not really on my list of priorities right now.-- 01:28, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

So here is an article for a fairly obscure anime I watched before. As you can see the history, I also fixed it a long time ago. What parts of it need to be fixed or expanded? It doesn't even have a Reception section. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 05:07, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

In short: everything. Letting alone that the lead needs expansion, the plot should describe concisely the important points of the story; see WP:WAF. The character section would have to be rewritten by not going into too much detail per character and weeding out needless plot summary. The entire media section needs to be rewritten in a more encyclopedic manner. The list of light novels should be converted to a table using {{Graphic novel list}}. The manga section could be expanded, though slightly. The anime section could be expanded to at least a paragraph detailing who produced it, when it aired, what station, what media releases (DVDs) it got, etc. The music section's so small it could be merged into the anime section. And then of course there are the missing sections, like Production and Reception, as you pointed out. I don't know if you'll find any (the series doesn't seem to have been licensed) but take a look at the sources at WP:A&M/RS for reliable sources for reception. Any production info usually comes in interviews, but those are probably few and far between. All in all, it'd require a lot of work, and I don't really see the article ever getting beyond a low C.-- 08:33, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Can you try fixing it? Being a well-respected editor of Anime articles, it could really need your help to at least reach C. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:40, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
I've never even heard of the series until you mentioned it, so I'm not interested, sorry. It's not really all that difficult, just time consuming, so if you want to put in the effort, be bold.-- 11:08, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Restore page about Yuyuko Takemiya's "Golden Time" light novel series?

Here I am pestering you again, this time at other's bidding. Now there are four books in the series, four spinoff stories published in Dengeki Bunko Magazine, and six chapters of manga published already, with the first collection volume coming out in two weeks. Since I last nagged you about this, another user resurrected the page in his private wiki space, which Google finds quite promptly. It would be nice if the page could be restored to the main wiki, however, to go with the Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish pages out there. Does it still flunk the test of notability? If it does, there's a lot of other stuff in the main wiki that probably would flunk that same test . . . --Rpapo (talk) 22:46, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

First of all WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS shouldn't be taken into account. Second, there is nothing on User:Pmt7ar/Drafts/Golden Time that would satisfy WP:GNG or WP:BK. Not only that, but the "interetsing facts" section would be deleted per WP:TRIVIA, and the production section says nothing about production, just that the series has a supernatural theme. It seems as if the test page is a rough copy of the Japanese page, but we have different standards of formatting on the English wiki, so this shouldn't be followed so closely. So the overview section would be removed or merged into the story section, too. Anyway, I doubt the series will demonstrate enough notability for creation until/if an anime is announced. Not every series needs an article, and as you said, there are just as many out there that would not survive a prod.-- 22:55, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

You are correct in the article being a rough copy of the Japanese article. The bulk of the article comes from there, translated into English. Neither am I an encyclopedia writer, nor have I any desire to be such. One of the side commentaries of Isaac Asimov's Foundation series is a commentary on the end-point of such a path: nobody writes anything that hasn't been written by others, and nobody does any original research because it cannot be substantiated in the writings of others... --Rpapo (talk) 23:22, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Semi-colon use

I used semi-colons when one or more clauses joined by a conjunction contains at least one comma. This allows the separation of clauses to be more distinct. And, according to sources and my schooling, my usage has been proper. [1] [2] [3] KyuuA4 (Talk:キュウ) 21:15, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Not every sentence that has a comma needs a semi-colon, especially when the primary clause is so short as in "The next day, he gets killed multiple times; and finally, he wakes up in the SSS room, where he meets the core SSS members." At the very least, you could rewrite the sentence so it doesn't need to use a semi-colon, making the readability easier, like "He gets killed multiple times the next day and finally wakes up in the SSS room, where he meets the core SSS members." I see you also have a tendency to write very short sentences ("Naoi remains vigilant."), which is jarring and messes up the flow of the paragraph. Try to incorporate these into other sentences.-- 22:23, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Just a quick question

In a list of articles, for example in a list of roles section, if the show does not have an article, should it be not linked or shold it be a red link?

Example:

  • The Three Goofballs as Jane Doleman
  • K-On! as Yui Hirasawa

Should The Three Goofballs appear as The Three Goofballs or not? Thanks! Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:23, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Also, should it appear as:

or:

Thanks again. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:29, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Both are really up to the editor. I generally don't like red links, but there's nothing bad about red linking something that's notable enough for an article. Red links might as incite other editors to create the article. As for the second thing, I'd probably just choose the colon because I don't have to type as much.-- 10:07, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Dungeons & Takafumis?

So I've played Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life, and the article mentions that there is an RPG game called "Dungeons & Takafumis" in it. However, when I played it, for some reason, I beat it without ever encountering it once. I was honestly surprised by this, since it was the part of the game I really wanted to see. Maybe it is only in the all-ages version (I played the adult version), so can this information be added to the article? We can't let a GA suffer from lack of detailed information you know. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:37, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

I know it definitely appeared in the original game, so as far as I can tell, it becomes available after all the game's scenarios are cleared, so if you only played the game once, you can't play it yet. I'll mention this in the article; thanks.-- 04:22, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
I only beat it once, and have yet to replay it, so I'll check some other time. Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 04:27, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
Otherwise, there might have been choices you didn't make which would have allowed you to play the game, and also, there's a chance that after completing the game once gives you new choices in the regular gameplay to allow you to play the RPG.-- 04:33, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Anime titles

I see you just moved Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai to its English title Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day. But I'm a little confused. Should anime be under their English or Japanese titles? The articles seem to be inconsistent. For example, the anime most popularly known around the world as Detective Conan, its Wikipedia article is under its American name Case Closed. However, Rumbling Hearts is at Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and Destiny of the Shrine Maiden is at Kannazuki no Miko. I'm not saying you should move them, but I'm quite confused when to name after the Japanese or English title. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:44, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

There's a guideline at WP:MOS-AM#Article names and disambiguation that talks about using "the most commonly known English titles for article names" and goes on to say "If there are multiple official titles, use the one that is best known and that has contributed most to the work's becoming known in the broader English-speaking world." In other words, the official English title is generally used. Some of the older series were in the gray area, like Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, which had an anime that was licensed and titled Rumbling Hearts, but the primary media (the game) was never released in English and retained the original title. IIRC, there was a discussion about this on the Kimi ga talk page a while back, but nothing came of it. In the case of Kannazuki no Miko, it was originally released in English under that title, as seen here, and then Sentai retitled it when they relicensed it from Geneon. So in general, the article title should reflect the official English title if there is one.-- 19:57, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Translator's names

Just a quick question. In an article about light novels, like Shakugan no Shana, should the names of the translators be included or not? Shana is only one I've seen so far, I did not see any names of translators on Haruhi Suzumiya. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:51, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, it's pretty unconventional, considering that we don't put the translators of manga (or at least, I haven't seen any examples of this). It'd probably be okay to remove it.-- 10:55, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. Just removed the names now. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:06, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Terminology sections

I see you've finally fixed Shana's terminology section and merged it. Can you do the same with Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Strike Witches and Toaru Majutsu no Index? Their term. sections remain problematic and could do some fixing/merging. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:22, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

I wouldn't be able to do it for Strike Witches as I've never seen it. For the other two, I think it'd be best to do it when a concise plot summary is written, something I can't do for Index as it is unfinished, and something I'm not interested in doing at this time for Madoka. I'm highly interested Shana, it being one of my all-time favorite series, so I was inclined to do it once I knew how the story ended. It doesn't hurt to be bold and try it yourself.-- 11:42, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

OK, so exactly when was Tomoko Kawakami born?

On all the sites I could find about the late seiyuu, I saw that her birthday is April 25. However, the actual year seems to be in question. Her English and Japanese Wikipedia articles, as well as Hitoshi Doi's site say 1970, but most other sources, as well as her listing on the April 25 article (which, until I fixed it, didn't imply that she was dead) say 1971. It's not like it her year of birth is undisclosed, since many sources give either 1970 or 1971 (almost always the latter), but once and for all, what is her year of birth? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:32, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

I would have to assume the reliable sources got it right, and as far as Wikipedia is concerned, that's enough. Several news sites say she died at age 41, meaning 1970.-- 21:14, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

Juhachi, in case you're interested, I just created a userspace draft of Rumbling Hearts here. I basically copy-pasted most of the contents of the article except the plot. I could use some help with the plot and reception sections, as they require expansion. The plot section really needs to be re-written from scratch, but I can't do it since I can no longer remember most of the details. I would like some more input as to what work I still have to do. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 07:45, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Plot is usually the last thing I work on, as it's the most difficult, since it requires knowledge of the work's story. I saw the anime a long time ago, and don't remember many details. Regardless, it's the game that the plot should be written from. Well, the anime's basic story was probably the same, though I wouldn't know. Everything else can be done without even knowing anything about a series, though I guess it'd require at least a basic knowledge of Japanese in cases like these: knowing how to read kana and use Rikaichan. That would at least allow you to translate who created the game for the development, along with the various media that was released including CDs, novels and anime, and what not. All of the media info can be taken from the Japanese article, and the formatting and referencing (like which sites are reliable, which can be used to cite general media info like Amazon) could be gleamed from any number of similar VN GA articles which I've mentioned before.
For right now, I'd remove the characters from Ayumayu Gekijou, and merge that (and the Next Season OVAs) into the main anime section; the episodes from Kiminozo and a list for Next Season you'd have to make would have to go into a List of Kimi ga Nozomu Eien episodes article, with an appropriate lead, similar to List of Shakugan no Shana episodes though obviously not as long. You'd probably have to rewatch the series and write some episode summaries too, I imagine, and that'd let you write at least a basic plot for the main article too.-- 08:54, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
Did a little more restructuring of the draft, and created a list of episodes (link here). It's still missing some info (such as the episode titles for ~Next Season~ and episode summaries), and some parts are either redundant or copy-pasted from the (draft) article, but, it appears to be good enough of a start. The main article draft was restructured, and the OVAs and ONAs were merged to the "Anime" section. The draft still lacks a lot of information, such as plot and development, but at least it looks better than the main article's current state. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:40, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Famitsu Issue 915 (part 2)

Hi, I just noticed that you had changed the format for a few of the references I'd introduced into some of the visual novel articles. I always use a stripped-down non-template style ref, but for consistency reasons (in those articles at least) your re-formattings were definitely the way to go. So thanks for that. I just wanted to mention that you had cut off one part of these refs that I think is important. I'd originally listed the magazine these came from as "Weekly Famitsu. No.915 Pt.2." and the "Pt.2" portion in particular is important because it refers to an unnumbered companion volume to the real Issue No.915. The cover of this companion volume actually describes itself as "中巻" which I've loosely translated to "Pt.2" (perhaps Vol.2 would be preferable?). And the page number that I've listed refers to the page in this companion volume and not a page in the actual Issue No.915. So the refs should probably be touched up a little to prevent confusion. Let me know if you have any questions about the source. -Thibbs (talk) 03:20, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

List of Aoi Hana chapters

Hi,

You probably already know about this, but the reason I picked "Melody" as the English title of those two episodes was that "Chīsa na Koi no Melody" is the Japanese title of that movie. I thought it was "close enough" that I could list the US title for that one (whereas I was considerably more hesitant about using "The Best Little Girl in the World" for "Kagami no Naka no Shōjo"... not as bad as "Koisuru Wakusei" / "Chungking Express", but...). Erigu (talk) 06:31, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Ummmmm, what do you think of this terminology section? It's shorter and less in-universe than some terminology sections (like the one at Strike Witches) I have seen, but is it still salvageable? I'm currently re-watching Madoka to see how I can improve the article. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:46, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

I don't see why something similar to what I did in Shakugan no Shana couldn't be done in Madoka, even more easily so because there's only 4 terms.-- 21:02, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Copy into Wikia

Hmm, say. What's the policy of copying material from anime related articles into specific Wikia? The idea feels cheesy, so I wouldn't do it without askin' first. KyuuA4 (Talk:キュウ) 18:31, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Well, I've never done it myself, and I doubt there's really a "policy" for it, but if you were going to do it, it'd be helpful if the wikia was already created. The point is just to remove plot-related content that would otherwise not be suitable for Wikipedia to somewhere where it can still be accessed and improved without being constrained by Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. However, there are bound to be people against moving anything to a wikia, and even if you do, there's no guarantee the same content won't pop up in Wikipedia again at some later date. So it'd also help if there was some discussion about the transfer before it was done so you can get consensus for it.-- 20:58, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Hourou Musuko Agressive Editing

Hello Juhachi,

While I recognize that you've contributed a lot to the anime branch of Wikipedia, as long as the Hourou Musuko page is being represented by the LGBT Wikiproject, and until further decisions are taken, it is both socially unacceptable and against both the spirit and message of the work to continue to misgender and misrepresent the characters of Hourou Musuko. I acknowledge your contributions, and am warning you that I am submitting a form because you reverted the Hourou Musuko page four times within 24 hours while displaying in the talk page and your justifications extreme prejudice and and lack of any basic understanding of the transsexual themes contained in the work and have caused editing wars before in the talk page at least twice not including this incident.

Thank you and have a nice day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.52.209.97 (talk) 12:40, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi Juhachi! I was just thinking of nominating 2D Love for deletion, but I'm not sure if I should proceed. The main reason why I don't want to proceed is because there actually is much coverage on the actual practice, but not for the term "2D Love", so it might be worthwhile to keep, expand and source the existing article. I'm also hesitant to propose a merge to Moe (slang) since not all "waifus" are actually moe, although most are, and if I recall correctly the practice developed separately. So what is the best option? A merge, a move, or an AfD? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 06:28, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Assuming the discussion at WT:ANIME has reached a conclusion, I don't see why we even need such an article, even if you were to title it Human relationships with fictional characters. Even if not all characters can be considered moe at first, once they're deemed waifus, they're moe, because moe not only has to do with a character's appearance, but also their personality and the general level of affection towards said character from the audience. Even the first line of moe (slang) quotes: "It means 'a rarefied pseudo-love for certain fictional characters'. So I believe waifu/2D love would make sense to go into the moe article. If you want more input before a decision, start an AfD, but in the end, the end result will probably either be merge or delete.-- 08:23, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Magical Girl Image

Read Wikipedia:NFCC, namely:

1. No free equivalent. Non-free content is used only where no free equivalent is available, or could be created, that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose. Where possible, non-free content is transformed into free material instead of using a fair-use defense, or replaced with a freer alternative if one of acceptable quality is available; "acceptable quality" means a quality sufficient to serve the encyclopedic purpose. (As a quick test, before adding non-free content requiring a rationale, ask yourself: "Can this non-free content be replaced by a free version that has the same effect?" and "Could the subject be adequately conveyed by properly sourced text without using the non-free content at all?" If the answer to either is yes, the non-free content probably does not meet this criterion.)

While I had no responsibility to indicate that a free version could be made, I did so to ensure that my rationale in removing the picture was known. You on the other hand have to provide a valid reason as to why a non-free image can be used when a free image, whether it exists or not, could be used in place of the non-free image.--293.xx.xxx.xx (talk) 17:32, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Japanese fanmail question

Juhachi I just have a quick question here. I'm thinking of eventually sending fanmail to Mami Kawada, but aside from the fact that I can't understand Japanese, I'm also not sure which address I should send fanmail to. Should I send it to I've Sound, Geneon Entertainment or even both? Also, do Japanese celebrities even accept fanmail? If I have to send mail to I've Sound, what is their address? All I know is that I've is based in Sappporo and Kawada herself is also from Sapporo. Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 14:27, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

While I'm definitely no expert on this sort of thing, I assume if you sent fanmail to Kawada through Geneon they might send it her way. I've Sound doesn't list an address on their site, but Geneon does. If you were going to send fanmail to them, it'd be:
〒107-6110
東京都港区赤坂 5-2-20 赤坂パークビル
ジェネオン・ユニバーサル・エンターテイメントジャパン気付
川田まみ
I think. Obviously you'd have to write the address in Japanese or I doubt it'd get to them. Otherwise, a simple and easy way would probably just to message her on Twitter. I'm sure she checks and reads when people message her, though she may not always reply.-- 21:26, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

Shakugan no Shana

Barnstar moved to User:Juhachi/gifts

Well I know that this is probably commonplace for you now, but congratulations, because Shakugan no Shana is now a B-Class article. Do you think it's close to becoming a GA soon? Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:07, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

I do think, given some more effort, the article could become GA. I have interviews from the original writer and artist to translate for the development, and then all that's left is basically revamping the reception section, and some missing refs here and there. Hopefully in the next couple of months. And thanks for the barnstar; it's always appreciated.-- 21:04, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

Larval Stage Planning

Hi Juhachi. I was thinking of writing an article for the I've Sound unit/group Larval Stage Planning (currently a red-link). I do believe that their notable since they or their members have already made a good number of theme songs for anime and games (like Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate), but for some strange reason I can't seem to find much Japanese coverage about them. Does that mean it is WP:TOOSOON? Also, for now, can the redlink, as well as Love Planet Five (another red-link), be redirected to the I've Sound page? Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 16:28, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

LSP has put out 3 singles since 2010 and a few other songs on compilations, so they're not really that notable. The members themselves may be notable enough for their own articles, but it'd probably be better to wait until they start releasing their own solo singles. I mean, Mami Kawada and Kotoko have been apart of I've units before, but those don't have articles, and I proded Love Planet Five a few months ago since they only had one single. A redirect to I've Sound would make sense though. LSP should also get a redirect to I've Sound.-- 19:55, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

More I've

Well I've finally created an article for Mami Kawada's latest album, but it could still need some improvement. Anyway, since, as you said, Larval Stage Planning isn't notable by itself but its individual members possibly are, can they have individual articles? If so, what sources can I use? I was also thinking on creating an article for I've founder Kazuya Takase (red-link but not in Japanese), but I don't know what sources to use. Can you give some advice? Thanks :) Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:22, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

Well, the three from LSP still don't have articles in the Japanese Wikipedia too, and while the members have had some individual releases on I've compilation albums and for singing theme songs for visual novels, I'd say they're currently only notable for LSP, which may or may not be notable enough for its own article. If you want, be bold and create the LSP article and add redirects for the three members to that page. As for Takase, there's a page on him on I've's official website, though I guess it wouldn't be much help if you can't translate it. I wouldn't really know what other sources to use, other than citing various stuff he's credited as producing and composing by citing album/single listings.-- 19:35, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

name, kanji and romaji fields.

In the Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai! article, you changed the English "name" field to Romaji, even when there is already a "ja_romaji" field right under it. Also, KyoAni is an anime studio by profession, but they are a corporation which is a type of a company. What's your reasoning behind these two changes? Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Damn.gwwgle (talkcontribs) 09:59, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the copyedit

Thanks for the copyedit on Hotarubi no Mori e. The fixes are definitely appreciated. I only have a couple of questions. First, where did you get the information for the original run dates for the manga (July 2002 & April 2003)? Is there a reliable source we can cite? Also, for the original manga I listed the magazine as Hana to Yume, but you listed LaLa, LaLa DX (as did some of my sources). The cover of the manga clearly states the former. What is the relationship between them, and why one over the other? Lastly, is there a reason to not list links to the ANN encyclopedia's entry for both the manga and the anime? (I can kind of see why, but I could easily see others putting it back in.)

Again, thanks. If you help with translations listed on the talk page or offer suggestions for the "Plot" section, I'd greatly appreciate it. Best, – Maky « talk » 22:47, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Sword Art Online

Hello. I'd like to inform you of a discussion on Sword Art Online's talk page. You see, SAO has a big terminology section (like the one that Shakugan no Shana used to have, only more fancrufty) and the discussion indicates that it should either be removed or merged to more encyclopedic sections. Can you try and merge such information? If you can't, it's alright, but it's never too bad to try. Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:09, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Flag Icons.

Hi, just have a question for you. Since flag icons are generally avoided in infoboxes, what about the ones in most anime pages with them? Should they be removed or just leave them the way they are since they are just minor things? I am fairly new to editing the anime section so a reply would be appreciated. Thanks.--iGeMiNix 20:25, 17 September 2012 (UTC)

To Love-Ru: Trouble - Darkness OAD

Juhachi, the first episode of To Love-Ru: Darkness (OVA) has already aired on Aug 17th, 2012 with the last episode of this series due to air on Dec 19th, 2012. I don't know where you're getting this 'Oct 5th, 2012' date from. Reportedly, according to Jump SQ19 magazine, there's only three episodes in this OVA series although some websites said only two episodes will be produced. Jump SQ19 already said the first episode is on Aug 17th and several anime websites is playing the first episode with an air date od Aug 17th. It could be that the second episode will air on Oct 5th but I cannot find any information on this.

I'm stopping editing at this point because it appears that the info box at the end is messed up in the edit window. Also I found conflicting information that there's three short episodes only that appears to be contained within the first episode and others saying there's only two episodes, etc..

I guess I'll just ask you if you could please fix the info box (at the end where there seems to be two sections, both covering the same thing, although only one of them shows up at the main page). I'll keep an eye out for a more reliable and cite-able source as to what really is happening and let you know. I'm not interested in getting into an edit war. Just want the correct and verifiable info posted.

I'll get in touch with you first if I think there's some editing to do first regarding this issue or find good information that should be included, including links so you can check for yourself.

I'm gonna have to get a proper account.

Larval Stage Planning draft

Hi Juhachi, just a quick favor. I'm finally done with my LSP sandbox draft and I think it's almost ready. Can you please give any suggestions on how it can be improved further? Also, since their singles charted, does that mean LSP is notable and thus the article is likely to be kept? And in its current state, is it likely to be deleted? Thank you. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 14:48, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

The main issues with it right now is that the paragraphs are too small in the prose section, and the discog section needs to be reformatted to comply with modern formatting. Formatting discographies has changed a lot over the years, but the most recently FL-nominated articles (whether they pass or not) are good examples of how to format it. Looking over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Discographies/Article alerts, all of them format the tables the same. In this case, looking at something like Coldplay discography#Sinlges would be a good example on how to format the discog in LSP. The only difference is that the Peak chart positions would only cover Oricon since the singles were only released in Japan. In doing so, the number sold column would have to be removed; they're not even sourced, so it's pointless to keep them in. The article isn't likely to get deleted since they charted on Oricon.-- 20:50, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
Well, I've (pun intended) finally published it. It's here. Hope you could help in improving it. Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 15:36, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

Tomoyo After

Well good job on the article. Just giving some suggestions. The plot feels incomplete. It doesn't really give much about what happened in the story or the major details (IIRC the ending was Tomoya dying due to an operation, although that ending was only in the manga and was merely implied in the game). But then again, the same was with Little Busters! until a few months ago. Why is the article, especially the plot section, still rather incomplete? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 08:14, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Well, no one who played the game every came forth to provide a more detailed story. You are right that a more detailed summary is needed, and if you know of someone who could provide one, that would be helpful. This same problem plagues Kud Wafter as well. The rest of the article is pretty much all there, except maybe expanding the gameplay to include some more details on the Dungeons and Takafumis RPG. The reception section is what it is, for example, because VNs generally get the short end of the stick in terms of reception info, and reviews are next to impossible to find. The article did pass GA almost 5 years ago, too, and standards were lower back then. If I ever get around to playing the game, I'll update the summary myself, much like I did for Little Busters!, which I played earlier this year.-- 08:56, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: User talk:Juhachi/Archive 10

Hello Juhachi. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User talk:Juhachi/Archive 10, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: U1 cannot be applied to talk pages. Thank you. Doug.(talk contribs) 05:32, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

Again, what Doug said. Wikipedia:Subpages#Using_subpages further links to WP:UP#DELETE, of which the Wikipedia:DELTALK#DELTALK section applies: user talk archives can't be deleted under U1 because they are still talk pages. However, they can still be deleted if they fall under one of the criteria listed on WP:DELTALK: Individual revisions, log entries, and other user space material may be deleted or redacted for privacy reasons, or due to harassment, threats, gross offensiveness and other serious violations. Exceptions to this can be and are made on occasion for good reason, including a wish to permanently leave Wikipedia. In addition, nonpublic personal information and potentially libelous information posted to your talk page may be removed as described above. So list a good reason, and then a deletion can occur, but just not under U1. SpencerT♦C 08:06, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
My bad, just noticed your response to Doug. Didn't look closely enough to see that they weren't page moves. Sorry about that. SpencerT♦C 08:12, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
  • Page moves is not a policy issue, these are not eligible for speedy. Please see details on my talk page.--Doug.(talk contribs) 22:15, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

Haruna Luna

Hi Juhachi, sorry to bother you again. With the help of Mr. Stradivarius, I've translated Haruna Luna's Japanese Wikipedia article into English. Here's the draft. I'm just waiting for a go-signal to publish it. Honestly, what I'm asking you is if she's notable enough for an article. Her first single appears to have not charted, while her second single, while not yet out, is likely to do so. However, she did get some detailed coverage, especially from the magazine, and even Anime News Network. So is the article ready, or should I incubate it a little longer? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:42, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Well, you got a few things wrong, like how her first single did chart, and her second single is "Overfly", not "Innocence", which is by Aoi Eir. Not to mention that her name should be in Western order. I cleaned it up some, but I don't think it's a problem to publish it now; I myself published ClariS when they only had two singles out.-- 11:11, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the comments. Sorry about Overfly, I was just a little excited since I had just downloaded Innocence I'll go ahead now. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:27, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for November 19

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Stereopony, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Split single (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

eyelis and ZAQ

Hi. I was planning to start writing articles on a musical group and a musician that don't have articles on the English Wikipedia yet. One is eyelis, who contributed to the music of The World God Only Knows and Hayate the Combat Butler, and the other is ZAQ, who is a relative newcomer but has already sung for Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai!. For you, are both notable yet? They have Japanese Wiki articles but no others. Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:16, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

I suppose both would be okay. The criteria for a musician to be notable is just to have a release which charted on a national music chart, and most if not all singers for anime today qualify for that.-- 02:03, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
I also forgot to mention NanosizeMir. Being the one who created the Rewrite article, I'm sure your familiar with them. Are they notable too? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 04:38, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Personally, I don't think NanosizeMir deserves an article yet. They have yet to debut on a major record label, and are so far only notable for producing a few songs for Rewrite. The same goes for PMMK from Little Busters!.-- 06:09, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the comments. I'll notify you when I've started writing the drafts. Two more things, is Haruka Yamazaki notable enough for an article? She's a relatively new seiyuu, and practically no personal information about her is known, but she has sung for Hayate the Combat Butler where she voices Ruka Suirenji, and she already has a single out. And for Tomoyuki Nakazawa, one of the I've Sound composers, where are good places to find sources regrading him? Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 06:20, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
I would like to have feedback on one more person. As you may know, I am a big fan of Mami Kawada, and she performed the opening of the Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate game. I was disappointed to learn that Koichoco's anime's OP was not "Initative" but a song (that admittedly is better than "Initative") titled "Signal Graph" by a singer named Annabel, who does not appear to have an article here yet (although she does in the Japanese and Spanish Wikipedias, which isn't surpising since she's half-Argentine). My question is, is Annabel notable yet? I'm not sure if her singles have charted yet.
Thanks, and if you're still interested, here's the drafts for eyelis and ZAQ. Zaq's draft may need some cleanup though. Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 08:19, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
I've known about Annabel for a while; I first listened to her when she did a theme song for Canaan in 2009, and then later Another and Koichoco. Most of her singles have charted (albeit rather poorly) and her debut album comes out in a few days. She's as notable as the others we've discussed. I'm a little less sure when it comes to seiyuu, and most of the info is just listing who they voiced most of the time, especially for new ones, but if she has music out, I guess that'd be enough. I don't know where I'd go to find sources on Nakazawa, aside from I've's website.-- 09:36, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the comments. If I have time I'll work on Annabel's article as well. Could you help fix the Zaq draft? Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 10:12, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks very much for helping out. I'm about to publish both articles, but in the case of Eyelis, I'm not sure if Comytra is a reliable source, since the grammar's rather bad. Are both ready now? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 04:37, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

I suppose that website would suffice for now, but should probably be replaced. When you do send them to mainspace, be sure to use the move feature instead of doing a copy-paste move, as you did with Luna Haruna, and then the history had to be merged by an admin later. Also, Zaq is still available, so move her to that instead of Zaq (singer).-- 05:30, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. Maybe I can go for a DYK? Maybe, maybe not. Oh well. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew

Hey, just wondering about how to link this on pages, the page is Funimation Entertainment, but the name is Funimation and I have seen you changed some to just have Funimation on pages with it so which way is correct?--iGeMiNix 04:47, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

I was not aware that they had dropped the Entertainment from their name last year, but the article should be moved to Funimation, so just link it to Funimation for now, and I'll request a page move.-- 05:59, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
Alright thanks. Going to be a lot of articles to change the link to. Lol.--iGeMiNix 06:31, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Helo Juhachi/Archive 7, I would like to inform you that I have started a peer review of Kotoko (singer). Any input and feedback will be appreciated. Yes I know that biographies aren't your specialty, but being an expert on anime, I think you'd have good comments. Thank you. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:50, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Annabel and Ray

Hi. After being stuck in development hell for a few weeks, I have started my drafts on Annabel (Japanese singer) and Ray (Japanese singer). While my Ray draft is more or less a translation of the Japanese article, I wrote the Annabel article from scratch, specifically the last paragraph, although with her Japanese and Spanish articles as sources, which explains why some parts appear to be translations.

Now, I have two problems with the article. One, I basically copied the discography sections from their Japanese articles, but since I have little experience with working on Wiki tables, I can't translate them. Also, since I know zilch Japanese (except a few phrases and the ability to read hiragana and katakana), translating the titles is a pain (Google Translate's unreliable as always). Second, and most importantly, unlike the other articles I created or translated, the source Japanese articles have few reliable sources. Of course I could use Oricon, but I'm a little confused with how to use their website. I also don't know where I can find other sources, although I hope Anime News Network will have something of interest.

Any feedback on the two drafts will be appreciated. Thank you and happy editing. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 15:14, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the cleanup, appreciated as always. If you don't mind, I'm publishing both by today. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:54, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Hitomi Azuma

Hello Juhachi. I need some help. For some time, I've been thinking of creating an article for Hitomi Azuma (or as she styles it, AZUMA HITOMI). Although the anime she sang for has been critically panned and bombed quite badly in Japan, most critics and people I've seen agree that the opening and ending themes are good. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find enough information about her even in Japanese sources (she doesn't even have a Japanese Wikipedia article, which I find surprising), and her Oricon page has zilch info (it appears her single didn't chart, but given the circumstances of how well Fractale did in Japan, that isn't surprising). However, because she performed songs for Fractale, is she nevertheless notable, or is she just another marina? And by marina, I mean an independent singer who sings a few songs for an anime, and afterwards seems to just disappear or fall back into obscurity. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:01, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Well, her debut single did actually chart at No. 43 (for 5 weeks no less), but her second single didn't. In any case, she hasn't released anything since then, well over a year ago, so she definitely has fallen back into obscurity, so I doubt she needs an article.-- 09:27, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
Nevertheless, her single did chart, so doesn't that mean she passes WP:NMUSIC? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 04:23, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
My point is, why create an article for her if she only put out two singles (only one of which charted) and she's only notable for singing songs for Fractale? Not everyone needs an article. Her article would amount to little else than an eternal stub unless she comes back to the music scene.-- 04:52, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
Well, thanks for the feedback. Still appreciated, as always. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 04:57, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
