This is a list of mosques in Turkey.
In March 2013, there were 82.693 mosques in Turkey, the province with the highest number of mosques (3.113) was Istanbul and the lowest number (117) was Tunceli Province.[1] In 2003 there were 75.369 mosques, in 10 year time, the number of mosques had increased by 7.324.[2] In 1927, there were 23.705 mosques in Turkey.[1] Turkey's Muslim population (including Alevi) in 1927 was approximately 13,270 million, in 2005 it was some 72 million.[3] In 1927, there was a mosque for approximately every 560 Muslims, in 2013 it was something between 900-1,000 Muslims.
