Hello
Hello
I want to understand why you used a G6 to delete an article which I started. It was up at DYK and you used G6 to delete the article and recreate it. It now appears as a deleted article in my articles created. After reading the section {{tl|WP:G6}} - it is specifically for "uncontroversial maintenance" but you used it to delete the article. Belated Happy New Year with a Toast!

float

Here's a toast to the host
Of those who edit wiki near and far,
To a friend we send a message, "keep the data up to par".
We drink to those who wrote a lot of prose,
And then they whacked a vandal several dozen blows.
A toast to the host of those who boast, the Wikipedians!

I found out that 125.198.46.132 did the vandalism on the album article. If I would have known about it, I would have fixed it. Thanks for the fix in the article. Stco23 (talk) 00:34, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Instant-runoff voting

I see that you're a Bernie supporter, which indicates to me that you would support fair voting reform. The Wikipage: Instant-runoff voting.

For the group fighting for it, check out: http://www.FairVote.org.

To see why it's necessary, check out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqblOq8BmgM.

It's supported by the Green Party: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eb7MQ7da6sg.

Hi HapHaxion, thanks for adding the correct template to the Platyrhynchus disambiguation page. The genera listed were both synonyms for the same genus name. However, when the term is used as a species or subspecies epithet (lower case) , it is never used by itself but only as part of the full binomial or trinomial term (such as Rangifer tarandus platyrhynchus or Catostomus platyrhynchus. Further, some epithets (eg. alba or occidentalis) may be used by hundreds of species and it is incorrect to refer to the organism solely by that term. Todd Donoho

Hi there!

I was asked by Todd's wife to remove the page because there was too much personal information about Todd, as well as his family. If you would prefer, instead of removing the entire page, I can ask her what information she deems too personal, and would like removed. Eamkr8 (talk) 05:04, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That would be better. Just remember to state what material you are removing and why in your edit summary and make sure you have proof of your claim that someone related to the person wants material removed. HapHaxion (talk) 05:08, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi HapHaxion. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Mifter (talk) 01:39, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sphering is a technical term. See, Kessy, Agnan, Alex Lewin, and Korbinian Strimmer. "Optimal whitening and decorrelation." arXiv preprint arXiv:1512.00809 (2015): "Whitening, or sphering, is a linear transformation that converts a d-dimensional random vector…" -MisterSheik, 07:46, 18 March 2017‎

An article already exists for this. However, I have submitted a disambiguation page for review to avoid any other confusion. HapHaxion (talk) 16:02, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Sphering (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 10:26, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of "Army bay small boats classic"

Army bay small boats classic, a page you created, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, organization, or web content, but does not indicate why its subject is important or significant.

You are welcome to contribute content that complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content, or remove the speedy deletion tag from the page. You can contest the deletion by clicking the "Contest this speedy deletion" button inside the speedy deletion tag. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

PROD

Hi, you recently PRODed Shyamgarh saying that the article had issues with things like focus and neutrality, but you didn't argue the notability of the subject. Do you believe the topic to be non-notable? If you do, please explain why and add the reasons to your PROD rationale. Thank you. Linguisttalk|contribs 16:04, 14 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Response

According to WP:GEOLAND, every populated place is considered notable, but based on what I have seen, the unsourced claims made in the article can't be backed up by searches that I've done. It would be impossible to remove the unsourced content/claims because that is all the article currently contains, and would result in either an empty article or an article with very little information in it. Tips on reverting vandalism

Hey HapHaxion -- although I tried to read the pages on the protocol for undoing vandalism, I don't think I got the process right on the Tomi Lahren move. Someone changed the name of the page and I moved it back to the original name and then deleted the link from the new name. Is there a better way? Thanks for any advice. Cloud atlas (talk) 13:48, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think you did the right thing. The move was obviously an act of vandalism, so you just reverted the move steps manually. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 13:52, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If it because it is a stub, I am trying to work out to find and use the movie template. I am also going to create some pages for Australian actors, so advice on how to avoid speedy deletion would be appreciated

@Wakelamp: In order for a page to remain in mainspace, it should have more content in it first, along with references. Try writing a draft first then posting it after, or try submitting it through Articles for Creation (AfC). HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 05:54, 10 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ashraf Abdelwahab Article

Hi HapHaxion! You have added a notification box to the Ashraf Abdelwahab article to encourage adding more citations and for performing some grammar checks. Since September 2017, many citations were added for verification. I would say the article is almost perfect grammatically. Should I remove that box now or would you prefer to remove it or do you have other concerns? Thanks! Cecs2010 (talk) 18:32, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the template asking for more references, but will leave the copy edit one up for now since I still saw a few errors. May edit it later if I have the time. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 18:55, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You tagged the article as needing copyediting. I presumed this was regarding the Lead, which had some word/phrases redundantly in the same sentence. I was wondering if you felt this was fixed now or if there were other issues. CorporateM (Talk) 04:10, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@CorporateM: Intro looks good. A few grammatical errors are present in the History section, and in my opinion a better tie-in to AVG or clarification at the bottom of the Products section would improve the article as well. Thanks for your attention :) HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 04:51, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
How's that? I wasn't sure what you meant RE AVG though. PS - I have a conflict of interest, but figured copyedits should be fairly non-controversial here. CorporateM (Talk) 13:34, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Necker Island

I noticed you added a citation to the price Richard Branson paid to purchase Necker Island. Thank you for finding a reference. The price had been listed as $180,000 for quite a long time, and someone using an IP changed it to $120,000 without a citation a couple months ago. Given that that was the only edit that had ever been made by that IP address, there was no citation given, and there was no edit summary, and because the article John Lyttelton, 11th Viscount Cobham also listed the price as $180k, I reverted it as probable vandalism, but I suppose it was likely not. That is the reason why I added the "citation needed" tag. The source you gave was a video, and I don't have time to watch the whole video to try to find the specific mention of this, but I assume you know what is in the video. I looked for a source for the price at the time, but was unable to find one. If you are sure about this, then you might want to change the price on the article John Lyttelton, 11th Viscount Cobham and give it the citation as well.

Also, if you could, would you mind to add to the reference the approximate time in the video that the price is mentioned? See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Videos_as_references "You may also want to note the time (roughly what time, if accessible, a scene occurs within a production - useful for citing specific scenes, quotations or data)"

Maldives

Hi

Do you have source with full results? --Panam2014 (talk) 00:22, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Panam2014: Unfortunately I don't, as I believe counting is still in progress. The only kind that would be out at the moment would be preliminary results, but from what I have seen the number of seats won by each party is not consistent. I say wait a day or two until more consistent findings are published. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 00:26, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Could you give me the sources please? --Panam2014 (talk) 00:28, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Panam2014: Sure. The most comprehensive I found is here, but it doesn't seem to match up with the seat count from other sources such as this one and this one (for example, the first source stated the MDP won 67 seats, but the following two stated they only won 59, hence why I said I would rather wait a few days for consistency). HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 00:34, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What is the difference with [1]? --Panam2014 (talk) 22:14, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This kinda highlights the inconsistent reporting. This one says the MDP won 65 seats. I say to wait until the Electoral Commission has released the results within the next 24 hours. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 22:24, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Now the two source put the same results. But about MRM why it is considered as a party only for 1 source? --Panam2014 (talk) 11:07, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, so from my understanding, the one candidate that won was only supported by the MRM; he was not a member of the party itself, so he should be listed as an independent. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 16:39, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And for percentage? --Panam2014 (talk) 20:09, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi HapHaxion.  I wanted to let you know that political endorsements must meet all three of these criteria:

  1. The endorser must have an article or be unquestionably entitled to one
  2. This endorsement must be covered by reliable and independent sources
  3. Coverage of the endorsement needs to use the word endorse, or other closely related synonym.

This is covered by the consensus at WP:ERFC.

For that reason, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, poker websites, and blogs are not acceptable sources. Also, donating to a campaign or showing up to a campaign rally are not endorsements. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you - MrX 🖋 20:21, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi HapHaxion, noticed that you recently added in the dates of foundation and dissolution on the articles Populares and Optimates, though these are of course very useful edits, I just wanted to ask you to please match the era style of the article you are adding to in the future. You put the dates in BCE while the whole rest of the articles were using BC, both systems are acceptable on Wikipedia, but all articles are only supposed to use one. If there is an article that you feel should be using a different era style than it currently is, feel free to bring it up on up the article's Talk page. NDV135 (talk) 07:59, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation

Hello, HapHaxion! I saw you recently edited a page related to the Green party and green politics. There is a WikiProject that has been formed - WikiProject Green Politics and I thought this might be something you'd be interested in joining! So please head on over to the project page and take a look! Thanks for your time.

Hi! You replaced the contents of File:Labour Party (UK) logo.svg with a new image with a smaller filesize. Unfortunately, that new, smaller image appears to be a clean, high fidelity version of the Labour Party logo. This is explicitly not what's wanted here; the munged image with lower fidelity (and a larger filesize) was created with the sole purpose of satisfying the criteria for fair use of this copyrighted logo: see WP:FAIRUSE for more information on this. -- The Anome (talk) 07:26, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@The Anome: I was a bit confused because I double checked that page and all I was able to find was the resolution requirement (<100,000 pixels), and even the non-free reduce template only mentions a requirement regarding resolution (or rendered size for SVG files: "The SVG can be configured [to be] a smaller size by changing the nominal size data using an appropriate vector editing program such as Inkscape"), not necessarily the fidelity of the image, as that would only come into effect when the number of vectors is too high, although I do not know what exactly would satisfy that criteria. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 00:14, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@The Anome: Is there a clarification about this I should know for future reference? HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 23:02, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mohrenstraße

Hello, just an FYI for the future, the edit history of a page follows the page when you move it, but since the old Mohrenstraße page has been created as a redirect, you can't move the page back over the redirect. However, the edit history is still stuck on the Anton-Wilhelm-Amo-Straße page. For the future, the correct course of action is to request deletion of the newly created "Mohrenstraße" redirect page so you can move the page a second time to an empty target. See WP:MOR. I've made a quick requested technical move at WP:RMT to smooth out the wrinkles, so no harm done. Thanks.-Ich (talk) 21:33, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Ich: Sorry about that; my bad! I'll be sure to keep that information in mind should this occur in the future. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 23:54, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bolivian elections image

Hi, the new layout of the seats looks better, but the colours for CC and Creemos are very close and quite hard to distinguish.. Is it possible to make an adjustment for clarity? Let me know your thoughts, thanks! Crmoorhead (talk) 21:17, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I double checked the colours from my end and they do not appear to be hard to distinguish at all; one is pink and the other is orange. Same goes for the maps in the infobox. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 21:20, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Logos of political parties in Poland

An article you recently created, Foundation for European Progressive Studies, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. --- Possibly 03:46, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. This had four references, three of which were by the article subject. It also had 60 links to external sites!! Are you unaware that so many external links in the body of an article is not OK? Just curious. --- Possibly 03:48, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Possibly: I copied the article formatting from the article on another political foundation at the European level, the Martens Centre, which has been present in mainspace since 2012. Assuming what you said is correct, then that article likely should be moved back to the Draft space as well, in addition to the articles on several of the other foundations, in which a majority of their references are just links to member foundations. Aliancia - Szövetség

Hello! I've seen, that you renamed the Aliancia - Szövetség page, to Alliance (Slovak political party). Why you renamed it ? It was a good name, that i renamed it, to Aliancia - Szövetség. Tell me please, why you renamed it to Alliance (Slovak political party) ? --TomFZ67 (talk) 06:31, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@HapHaxion: Why didn't you respond my question ? :( I've asked you a question. Why did you revert my edits, on the Alliance (Slovak political party), the Aliancia - Szövetség was a good name, but you renamed it to Alliance (Slovak political party). I'm sorry, but i don't have agree with that name. :( This Alliance (Slovak political party) needs to rename it again to Aliancia - Szövetség, because it is a good name, okay ? Icelandic electoral system

Thanks for adding these sections. However, one thing I was left asking was how the seats were divided into upper and lower houses. The source used doesn't seem to say. Any ideas? Cheers, Number 57 18:49, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Number 57: It appears that the Upper House wasn't technically elected in the traditional sense. All members were first elected as members of the Lower House, and would then choose amongst themselves one-third of the elected members, and those chosen were elevated to the Upper House. Anarchism

Hi HapHaxion,

I saw your work on articles related to anarchism and wanted to say hello, as I work in the topic area too. If you haven't already, you might want to watch our noticeboard for Wikipedia's coverage of anarchism, which is a great place to ask questions, collaborate, discuss style/structure precedent, and stay informed about content related to anarchism. Take a look for yourself!

And if you're looking for other juicy places to edit, consider expanding a stub, adopting a cleanup category, or participating in one of our current formal discussions.

Feel free to say hi on my talk page and let me know if these links were helpful (or at least interesting). Hope to see you around. czar 01:44, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Regarding this edit, where is the invalid votes figure from? Cheers, Number 57 23:10, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Number 57: Hi there! Per the Electoral Commission, a total of 252,659 took part in the vote. Subtracting the 247,797 votes for valid candidates and the "against all" option from this total yields a remainder of 4,862. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 15:47, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Financial Technologies Group, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. RPSkokie (talk) 03:09, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello I want to understand why you used a G6 to delete an article which I started. It was up at DYK and you used G6 to delete the article and recreate it. It now appears as a deleted article in my articles created. After reading the section {{WP:G6}} - it is specifically for "uncontroversial maintenance" but you used it to delete the article.
