Thank you - I went back and added more Wiki links and also edited the Granite Wikipedia page to have "Cold Spring Granite" to the "See also" section, so that I could get another topic to link to it. I also added the "see also" list to the bottom of the Cold Spring Granite page to take people to similar topics. Does this solve the Orphan problem? If not, please let me know what else I can do to get the flag removed on my part.

thanks so much for moving my page to the main space. I've added categories, but am still unsure of references. any specific suggestions? let me know Kuhutanvir (talk) 07:18, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't find any myself, but newspapers and well-known company websites talking about them are usually good. ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 13:44, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Emails, and HTML

Thanks for the cookie. I noticed that you've placed your email address openly on your userpage. Just want to say that it is discouraged to do that, as that makes it much easier for you to receive spam, among other things. What I recommend you do is enable emailing by going to Special:Preferences, entering in your email address, and then selecting the "enable e-mail from other users" checkbox at the bottom of the page. By doing this, users can email you through Wikipedia without ever knowing your email address until you reply to them. Once you've done this, you can replace your email on your userpage with a link to the emailing-feature, which can be done by linking to Special:EmailUser/Username (replacing "username" with your username, of course). You can look at Wikipedia:E-mailing users for a bit more info on this. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 23:00, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I use that one because I made that email for Wikipedia free on Google, but I see what you mean — I wouldn't post my real email on here. Thanks! QwerpQwertus (talk) 23:04, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see. That's playing it safe. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 23:07, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I was also wondering — can you use HTML coding on Wikipedia — I'm experienced in HTML, but I have forgotten most of Wikipedia's stuff? QwerpQwertus (talk) 23:09, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, good question. In general, yes, you can. There are quite a few HTML elements that can be used that are listed here. Some elements are un-usable and have been replaced by Wiki markup, such as <a href="http://meta.wikimedia.org/">Main Page</a> being replaced by [http://meta.wikimedia.org/ Main Page]. Others are simply disabled, such as adding images from outside links. Other elements can be used in both HTML and Wiki markup, such as bolding text using either <b></b> or the three apostrophes, or creating tables using basic HTML coding or the wikitables. In terms of getting into more complex coding, many elements will probably work, some may not. You can always experiment, of course, by just using the preview function or creating your own sandbox in your userspace. If you need further help, you can, of course, ask at the Help desk as you have done previously; you may also ask at the village pump for technical issues.~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 00:26, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that'll make editing much faster, I've edited a lot before, but I barely remember any of the Wiki Markup. QwerpQwertus (talk) 00:33, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

About your redirect request

I created the four redirects to Nutritionist for you (two different capitalizations for each one you suggested). You do not need to ask at AfC though or even go through the Article Wizard for that matter. Just type the name in the search box, click the red link that is after "You may create the page", then under the Advanced toolbar click the blue arrow in the "Insert" section. Then type the name of the article you want to redirect to, exactly as it appears in the article's title (copying and pasting). Save the page, and your redirect is created. You can ask me if you have another question; I will be glad to help. PleaseStand (talk) 02:14, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks, PleaseStand — I just thought that you were supposed to use that. ~ QwerpQwertus |_User Page_| |_Talk_| Help Me Improve WikipediaThanks! 02:27, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And no, you do not have to delete the redirect to change its target. Type the name of the redirect (exactly) into the search box. Click the "Redirected from" line below the article title. Click the Edit tab at the top and change where the redirect goes to as with a new redirect. PleaseStand (talk) 02:43, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
On second thought: should we redirect to Dietitian instead? From what I understand, the title "nutritionist" is not necessarily as regulated as dietitian, and to be certified by the American College of Nutrition's Certification Board for Nutrition Specialists, an advanced (masters or doctorate) rather than a bachelor's degree is required. PleaseStand (talk) 02:32, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure — people could be searching for either since both are nutrition specialists — maybe a redirect to a disambiguation is needed — you can decide what you think is best. ~ QwerpQwertus |_User Page_| |_Talk_| Help Me Improve WikipediaThanks! 02:47, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help desk

Hi. Just a heads-up re the Help Desk — new helpers are always welcome, but if you're answering questions on policy you do need to be sure of your facts. Your answer in this section was wrong: it effectively directed another user to use sockpuppetry to evade a block for edit warring (a serious breach of the rules), and dismissed the appeal system out of hand, whereas it is the only correct way to challenge a block. The fact that the user was posting on the help desk at all should have been a clue that he was evading his block with a new account, and in fact that one has now been blocked for edit warring too. A suggestion that he create yet another account was not a very good idea: WP:CLEANSTART can work, but only where a user understands what the problem is and knows they cannot come back with more of the same behaviour, which this one clearly doesn't. Karenjc 09:53, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I'm very sorry — I'll try to be more careful about policy in the future. |:-) ~QwerpQwertus |_Talk_| |_Contribs_| 13:56, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Is the page: Scratte (fictional character) Really a candidate for deletion? There's no deletion archive page about it. --Hjfhksdjf (talk) 19:28, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Scratte (fictional character). QwerpQwertus, do you mind explaining why you accepted this? I don't know if you saw my earlier decline or not. fetch·comms 22:56, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Now that I think twice, it probably should be deleted or merged with the movie article — I had thought earlier that it was about the other squirrel (the one that is a main character) and I didn't know you previously declined it. Sorry for the trouble. ~QwerpQwertus |_Talk_| |_Contribs_| 23:18, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What about the image, is it going to be added in the section and I requst that it be merged to List of Ice Age characters#Scratte, that's a better place than the film article. --Hjfhksdjf (talk) 23:20, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It can also, (or only) be merged there. She is definitely a noticeable character in the movie, a brief description, the infobox (that's already there), and the pic might be good there — though it would be out of uniform — none other have a pic there. ~QwerpQwertus |_Talk_| |_Contribs_| 23:29, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I added one for Scrat, and I could upload images for the other main characters (Manny, Ellie, Sid, Diego, Crash, Eddie, Peaches, Rudy, Momma and the Baby Dinos). --Hjfhksdjf (talk) 23:43, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That would be very good (as long as you make sure they follow copyright guidelines), it would significantly improve the article.
~QwerpQwertus |_Talk_| |_Contribs_| 23:48, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I also added images for Jennifer, Sylvia, Rachel and created the section the baby dinos. All Main and supporting characters have images now. If someone removes the images, either notify me, fix it, or fix it then notify me. --Hjfhksdjf (talk) 00:48, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! ~QwerpQwertus |_Talk_| |_Contribs_| 01:23, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, and a small suggestion

Thanks for the help at the Feedback forum. We are understaffed, and more help is quite welcome. I see you realize how to indent responses, but you may not be aware that you can do the same for bulleted lists. It is considered poor form to edit another person's comment on talk pages and discussion forums (with some rare exceptions), so I'm not making the change myself.

I'll illustrate with a recent example:

As is
bg

The article I posted was about the All Pro Dad organization, I gave a brief summary and history of the organization the followed with the 3 main things that they do to outrach to fathers, the daily email, the dad's breakfast and the all pro dad's day. I kept it brief and tried to cite the sources and websites that I used from All Pro Dad. The feedback will be greatly appreciated and I thank you very much for your time.Swsafety28 (talk) 20:40, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's pretty good (it has notability, and a good description), but it does have some problems.
There are three types of sections linking Wikipedia articles to other places:
  • References — To show that the subject is notable (important), and for more info, and some of where you got info.
  • Sources — Where you got your info, and for more info.
  • External Links — For more info.
Your should add references from other books\sites that are not related to the company to show that it is notable. I believe it is (per a google search), but please do add some independent examples to make it better — all current ones are on their sites. But, good work! ~QwerpQwertus |_Talk_| |_Contribs_| 23:43, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just noticed that something went a bit wrong with the format of your sig in this welcome template. Cheers Fæ (talk) 05:23, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I just noticed that — but thanks for telling me. I must've done like twenty of those defective ones!! I'm going to wait to tommorow to fix it and continue. Do you know what might be causing it?
~QwerpQwertus |_Talk_| |_Contribs_| 05:26, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's down to using the pipe character in your sig (|), the template uses tables and these interpret the pipe as an instruction to create another table cell. Pipes in a sig are a bad idea. Something like the middle dot might be a good separator (·). As an example I've fixed the layout for this user in question by replacing the pipes in this way. Fæ (talk) 05:42, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, ok — I'll use that substitute for a pipe (something like &123) - I'll look it up. Thanks for the help!

Why I moved the article

Apologies if I stepped on your toes, but I saw the request from Vhiruz to move a draft, and it hadn't happened, so I went ahead and did it.

Please note that new editors are usually unaware that a newly moved article won't show up in the index right away (which means it won't show up in a Google search until sometime after that.) After I move a draft, I send them a note, such as this : User_talk:Vhiruz#Move_request

If the article doesn't have categories, I remind them to add categories, but this one did.

PS, surely you don't plan to archive your talk page every day?!--SPhilbrickT 16:48, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oops — I must've been sleeping. And no — I think I'll just collapse the different old sections and put them in weeks, months, an years (and they aren't actual archives — just collapsed). Well, anyways, thanks for doing that!

Minor Edits

I noticed that all of the last 500 edits on your contribution list are marked as minor edits. This is probably because you have checked "Mark all edits minor by default" on the "Editing" tab of "My Preferences". Checking the minor edit box is supposed to signify that the only superficial changes were made to the page during the edit. Looking over your contributions, most of your edits should not be marked as a minor edit. It doesn't really bother me because I basically disregard the "m" and look at the edits anyway, but there are other editors who might have a problem with it. I suggest changing your preferences so that all your edits are not marked as minor. ~~ GB fan ~~ talk 13:29, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also just noticed after I posted the above that your signature appears to be missing a </small> in it. After you sign the next post is small, which is not really about minor edits but I didn't want to start another section. ~~ GB fan ~~ talk 13:33, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick note to let you know that I removed the speedy deletion template you placed on Lilly Truscott (Hannah Montana) because the article did not seem to meet the speedy deletion criterion A6. A6 is for articles that have been taken to WP:AFD and the consensus there was for deletion. Not only is there no AfD for this article, but it was tagged for this speedy deletion after only one minute. It is quite impossible for an article to go through the AfD process in this much time. So I'm pretty sure you didn't mean to apply this tag to this article!

Please be aware that is normally inappropriate re-add a speedy deletion template when another editor (other than the creator of the article) has removed it, because speedy deletion is only for uncontroversial deletions. If you believe the article still needs to be deleted, please consider WP:PROD or WP:AFD which can be used for deletions which are not covered by the speedy deletion criteria.

I am not an administrator and I do not have any special authority in this matter. If you feel that I have made a mistake, please feel free to contact me on my talk page.

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 03:10, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

Hello, QwerpQwertus. You have new messages at Laurinavicius's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

FEED / Talk

Actually, what I'm thinking about FEED is...

If we had a page for every week, and did some clever transclusion of the 'current week', and possibly a bot to note the 'oldest unanswered' too, at the top of the page...then, we wouldn't have to bother with archiving at all. I'm suggesting week based on the data on the talk page.

The great advantage here would be that users could check back on feedback forever, without looking for archives/links - the link to their feedback would be constant. Also, feedback requests unanswered would never vanish into the archive.

I'd really like to make a 'mock-up' of this proposal, as it is hard to explain in simple terms - ie I'd like to mock it up using data from the past month or two, and demonstrate how it looks.

I'd welcome your further thoughts on this - note, I don't really watch for replies, so let me know - but it's probably best discussed on Wikipedia talk:Requests for feedback.  Chzz  ►  03:00, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Much to my astonishment, it looks like this story checks out. The RT coverage is probably not enough (on its own) to establish notability, but it does constitute a credible claim of significance under A7.

Of course having un-speedied this I now have the moral responsibility of trying to turn it into a real article :(

Thparkth (talk) 03:03, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, that sounds good. ~QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Contribs_· The Wiki Puzzle Piece Award

Archiving

{{helpme}}

Is this the correct way to archive? I just don't want to ruin my talk page. Please look at it in edit mode to see it correctly.
{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis |archiveprefix=User talk:QwerpQwertus/Archives/ |format=DATE_RSS |age=20 |index=no |minkeepthreads=5 |header={{archivebox}} |archivenow={{resolved}},{{done}},{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveNow}} |maxkeepthreads=7 |maxkeepbytes=40 }}

From what I can see, it looks correct at least (I'm using User:MiszaBot for my talk page, so I have no first-hand experience). You can try it and see if it works. If it doesn't, you can simply remove it again and restore the previous version using undo, thus there is no risk of ruining your talk page in any way. Regards SoWhy 10:29, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Siddharth Kara Article (review)

Dear QwerpQwertus,

Re: User:Martinjonson/Siddharth_Kara

FIrstly, thank you so much for your feedback about my first article on Wikipedia about the author, Siddharth Kara. I do not have very much knowledge about the advanced features, so my article is still very basic in its formatting. So, I was hoping to take you up on your offer for help in polishing the article!

(i) You mentioned that I may need to add reliable sources. I have a list of 10 sources/references, some of which are repeatedly cited 2-3 times in the article, resulting in a source list of 20 entries. However, all the 10 sources are reputable, reliable sources, including the authors bio on Columbia University Press and Harvard University websites. Did you mean that the sources should be even more reliable, or that I should not cite the same source repeatedly?

(ii) You also suggested adding pictures, but have to wait till I am 4 days old before I am an autoconfirmed user and qualified to upload any photos. When that happens, can I upload the copyrighted author/book photo if I ensure that I specify the name of the photographer under the photo? If not, can I upload the pictures if I get the author's permission?

(iii) Finally, you recommended adding an info box, which I think is a wonderful idea, but I was wondering whether you could show me how to insert one?

Thanks so much for all your help! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Martinjonson (talkcontribs) 13:17, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(i)I may have gotten it confused with another I was reviewing - the sources look okay.
(ii)Pictures have to be either copyright free, with the copyrighter's permission, or a bad quality pic of a logo. In most cases, with his written permission, you can upload that in a few days.
(iii)I see you've gotten the infobox up - good! ~QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Contribs_· The Wiki Puzzle Piece Award

Hi QwerpQuertus

Yes, I found the page Template:Infobox writer/doc, and used that template to create my own infobox. Thanks for suggesting the idea. I also added the categories box below the article. When you have a spare moment, please do have a last look at the article before I put it up in the article space. Thanks again for all your input!

Martinjonson (talk) 23:26, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It looks great! Thanks for writing it! ~QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Contribs_· The Wiki Puzzle Piece Award

Hi again!

I am finally an autoconfirmed used and can therefore upload an author photo. I just wanted to check whether I can upload the author photo on the book jacket cover, which I notice is being used all over the net on various website where the author is giving talks or lectures, or on most sites where he has a bio? If so, what do I state or which tags do I use in the "summary" and which option do I select in the "licensing" menu when I am uploading the photo? Alternatively, I can get the authors permission, but do I still need it if the photo is so widely available?

Thanks so much for your valuable input!

Good, glad it worked out. There are a lot of policies here, luckily, many of them make sense, but some aren't so obvious.--SPhilbrickT 22:11, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on In the Labyrinth requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ~QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Contribs_· The Wiki Puzzle Piece Award

Yes, I was going to put a disambungation there from AfC - I didn't mean to notify myself. I'll look for that option. Thanks!
Actually, disambiguation pages are not used for two or less articles--use a hatnote for that. In the case of this page, it should be redirected to the more well-known of the two pages (or whichever you want if they're about the same). fetch·comms 01:52, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your report to WP:AIV. For next time, format the request like this:

The following are examples of how to report a vandal on the AIV page:

Anonymous Users (IP addresses):

Registered Users:
* {{Vandal|username}} optional brief reason for listing (keep it short) ~~~~
* {{Userlinks|username}} optional brief reason for listing (keep it short) ~~~~

There's a bot running on the page and it needs certain, specific formatting to process the reports properly. No need for adding extra sections, it will confuse the bot. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks! Dreadstar 05:28, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Singature Disruption

I have removed a section from my talk page here per WP:Talk page guidelines.
"While the purpose of article talk pages is to discuss the content of articles, the purpose of user talk pages is to draw the attention or discuss the edits of a user. Wikipedia is not a social networking site, and all discussion should ultimately be directed solely toward the improvement of the site. Users may freely remove comments from their own talk pages..."

This has been done because I would prefer to forgive and forget another user's somewhat rude comments: (though they did have some valid concerns)
"I'll put it more strongly for you: if you don't change it back immediately - then I'm going to have to complain to the admins." Please note that it was not any of the users below though.

Okay, I've changed it to the default sig. QwerpQwertus (talk) 01:16, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to make it a little bit decorative, you can still do that, but within boundaries. For example, I recommend taking out the link to the Wiki Puzzle Piece Award; it takes up a lot of space and is generally irrelevant in your signature. In addition, your signature should always be on the same line as the comment. The signature should not go in the space below or anything out of place like that, such as you did here. That makes it very confusing, and as Steve put it, disruptive of the flow of content. Make it short and sweet and it'll be fine. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 01:26, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sometimes when you type the exact name of an article in the search box, it will just search and put "there is an article named... on wikipedia" at the top - that's just how it is I think. Maybe try typing the exact name then pressing "enter or return, not the button on the screen (they work differently). Also, you should type ~~~~ after your posts on talk pages, it's in the upper-left on most keyboards, or if you don't have the key, there's a button under the edit window. I don't personally mind, but you're supposed to. Hope that search method works! Thanks! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·(Talkback Me)· 04:48, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever it was, it's fixed by now :D ! Thanks for taking the time btw :) ! I will keep the "~"-rule in mind! Belikel (talk) 15:55, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

From Wide Screen

thanks so very much. i've made some changes on the page as per your suggestions. Can you take a look again and help me make this page live? Wide Screen Journal

I've moved your article into main space for you and removed the unreviewed template. I would still recommend...
  • References which show its importance (why it should be put in an enclyopedia).
  • Categories so that it can be found by readers and editors.

Thanks! I look forward to your future work! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Contribs_· 17:17, 8 June 2010 (UTC) [reply]

The Wikipedia Signpost: 7 June 2010

User:Wendyfables/ColdSpringGranite

Good afternoon. The Cold Spring Granite page that you reviewed last week is up and running, thank you for your assistance and review of the content. You offered to remove the flag existing on the page currently, and I would like to ask you to do that now. Please remove the box at the top of the page at your convenience, and let me know if you require any additional action on my part at this time.

Thank you in advance - Wendyfables (talk) 19:33, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome - if you mean the unreviewed tag, that seems to already be gone, but the category and orphan tags should probably stay for now - nothing links to it and it has no categories. But good job! Thanks! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·(Talkback Me)· 21:56, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I also added some categories to the bottom, so that visitors can get an idea of similar topics to research. Does this solve the Orphan problem? If not, please let me know what else I can do to get the flag removed on my part.

Again, thank you for your help - I'm getting better at editing and creating and the feedback is appreciated. Wendyfables (talk) 16:09, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfC

Hi, a note. For articles like Alameda County Study, please always check after accepting to clean up any leftover items. Also, don't remove the other template parameters like you did at this page. They are needed for categorization, among other reasons. You may wish to use User:Tim Song/afchelper4.js, which is a handy script for reviewing. fetch·comms 22:04, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please don't decline pending submissions with this rationale, as that rationale is for articles that are on hold only. Please make sure to be more careful when reviewing articles at AfC in the future. —mono 22:11, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(To Fetchcomms)Thanks! I've been looking for some kind of script for AfC for a while - also, I'll try to be more careful. ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·(Talkback Me)· 22:19, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(To Mono)Actually, someone else put the decline there, but left the pending submission box and assuming they meant to delete the pend box to instead have the decline box, it got rid of the pending box for them. Do people do that on purpose to give them a suggestion or something? ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·(Talkback Me)· 22:19, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Putting a new pending box up means resubmitting for review. Usually the submitter does it (check history). fetch·comms 22:25, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, ok - that was confusing me. ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·(Talkback Me)· 22:27, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Qwerp: I reccomend not using the script; it can cause users to become even more careless. Perfect your reviews by hand, then add the tool. A few more things: I have commented at your editor review; I have no need for {{tb}} templates as i watch pages where I am engaged in discussion. mono 22:30, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
One final thing before I log off: using the edit summary "My Talk page" is to generic, say something like "reply" or similar. mono 22:31, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You may not see this for a while, but I've replied to your review - and I'll try to be more specific. Thanks for the help! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·(Talkback Me)· 22:43, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Before Fire

Your review and decision to not accept the entry for the band Before Fire is respected. However, it would be appreciated if you reconsidered. Before Fire, although "unsigned," does more than a lot of signed musical acts. Before Fire tours, sells merchandise, records, has sponsorship and endorsements, and plays numerous shows a year with many in attendance.

Before Fire is considering label representation, but anyone in the music industry knows that is not usually in a band's best interest. Before Fire is in negotiations with certain record labels, but a band that does it themselves ("D.I.Y.") should be respected and revered and given the same opportunities for advancement and legitimacy in the music world.

A wikipedia entry is deserving. To deny them based on the fact they choose not to be represented by a label (that may very well be to their detriment) would seem unjust. Wikipedia is about free and public knowledge and that is all we intend to distribute. Please make an exception in this case because there are many others more than ourselves that are interested in this band, and Before Fire is certainly well deserving.

If anyone else is going to post comments here please keep them courteous and professional. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.198.70.203 (talk) 00:32, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've undone my declination and put it back up for review - I'll let somebody else review it for a second opinion, however I doubt it will be accepted per notability guidelines, sorry - usually articles must be very notable and important to an encyclopedia which would be viewed all around the world. But I hope you the best of luck! I hope that you continue to contribute to Wikipedia! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·(Talkback Me)· 00:47, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. We understand that there are issues with notoriety, but more notoriety would certainly come with the acceptance of a wikipedia entry. Seems like a "Catch 22" but the management of Before Fire will still respect and contribute to wikipedia regardless of the decision. If accepted we will continue to monitor and update the entry to keep it current. Your time in dealing with this is certainly appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.198.70.203 (talk) 01:12, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Qwerty Land

Hi again,

Just want to inform you that the image on your userpage, File:Qwertyland.JPG, has been deleted as a copyright violation. I've gone ahead and removed it as a result. I can only assume that the user who uploaded it in 2006 was you under a different account name, correct? Anyway, to clarify: the map was copied from another source, and as a result, is property of the person or group that created it, and a result of that, cannot be uploaded to Wikipedia. Thanks, ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 04:00, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, that was just a coincidence, that wasn't me, I just stumbled upon it one day and put it in. Poor Qwertians! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 04:03, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay - interesting coincidence :) I'm sure that they'll find a better life, at least better than living in a place where the ground is a solid yellow. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 04:09, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe they'll swim over to Europe right next to them. |:-) ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 04:18, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
