RED - An Artist Development Company (formerly Relativity Entertainment Distribution) is a Sony Music Entertainment-owned sales and marketing division that handles releases for over sixty independent record labels.

Additionally, RED is home to 'stache media, a Marketing & Brand Partnership agency providing marketing services in Online Publicity, Lifestyle/College Marketing, Creative Services, Social Media Marketing & Fan Engagement, Advertising, Consumer Research and Brand/Partnership Marketing.

In the UK, the company holds distribution and parental recording with RCA Label Group.

History

Founded in 1979 as mainly a hard rock music distributor called Important Record Distributors, which originally released Metallica's first two LPs in the US. It became RED Distribution by the '90s and changed to RED - An Artist Development Company in 2007.
