Move/rename Vanness Wu

[edit]

Hello! I'd like to move Vanness Wu to "Van Ness Wu," as this is how his name is written on all official sites. Any objections/discussion? Thanks! --Hamuhamu (talk) 05:11, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to the WP:1.0 assessment scheme

[edit]

As you may have heard, we at the Wikipedia 1.0 Editorial Team recently made some changes to the assessment scale, including the addition of a new level. The new description is available at WP:ASSESS.

  • The new C-Class represents articles that are beyond the basic Start-Class, but which need additional references or cleanup to meet the standards for B-Class.
  • The criteria for B-Class have been tightened up with the addition of a rubric, and are now more in line with the stricter standards already used at some projects.
  • A-Class article reviews will now need more than one person, as described here.

Each WikiProject should already have a new C-Class category at Category:C-Class_articles. If your project elects not to use the new level, you can simply delete your WikiProject's C-Class category and clarify any amendments on your project's assessment/discussion pages. The bot is already finding and listing C-Class articles.

Please leave a message with us if you have any queries regarding the introduction of the revised scheme. This scheme should allow the team to start producing offline selections for your project and the wider community within the next year. Thanks for using the Wikipedia 1.0 scheme! Wikipedia 0.7 articles have been selected for Christianity in China work group

[edit]

Wikipedia 0.7 is a collection of English Wikipedia articles due to be released on DVD, and available for free download, later this year. The Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team has made an automated selection of articles for Version 0.7.

We would like to ask you to review the articles selected from this project. These were chosen from the articles with this project's talk page tag, based on the rated importance and quality. If there are any specific articles that should be removed, please let us know at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.7. You can also nominate additional articles for release, following the procedure at Wikipedia:Release Version Nominations.

A list of selected articles with cleanup tags, sorted by project, is available. The list is automatically updated each hour when it is loaded. Please try to fix any urgent problems in the selected articles. A team of copyeditors has agreed to help with copyediting requests, although you should try to fix simple issues on your own if possible.

We would also appreciate your help in identifying the version of each article that you think we should use, to help avoid vandalism or POV issues. These versions can be recorded at this project's subpage of User:SelectionBot/0.7. We are planning to release the selection for the holiday season, so we ask you to select the revisions before October 20. At that time, we will use an automatic process to identify which version of each article to release, if no version has been manually selected. Thanks! Discussion regarding project organization

[edit]

Any comments regarding the structure and function of Christianity related material are welcome at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/General Forum#Project organization. Be prepared for some rather lengthy comments, though. There is a lot of material to cover there. John Carter (talk) 17:35, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Message sent by User:Addbot to all active wiki projects per request, Comments on the message and bot are welcome here.

Thanks. — Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβς – WP Physics} 08:57, 15 March, 2009 (UTC)

Christianity in China navigation box?

[edit]

I noticed that, as present, we don't have a navigation box to easily link the most important articles on this subject, like, for instance, Template:Roman Catholicism2, which is used for Roman Catholicism. Would anyone like to help create such a navbox, and what articles do you all think should be included in it? Ideally, the articles to be included would be those which give a broad, comprehensive look at the subject. Those articles would also likely be counted as the most important articles on the subject, as they are linked to from the main Christianity in China page through the navbox. Thoughts? John Carter (talk) 15:52, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We have {{Protestant missions to China}} as basis to start with. --Secisek (talk) 03:08, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We also dont have any featured article on subject. Are anyone interested in cooperation these days? I think that article about Robert Morrison (missionary) can be featured one but with a lot of work. --Vojvodaeist 10:15, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I stumbled across this today. I had no idea it existed:

Wikipedians at Talk:Roman Catholic Church are discussing the merits of changing the article name as such.

Coordinator elections

[edit]

Any parties interested in being one of the coordinators of WikiProject Christianity and its various related projects is encouraged to list themselves as a candidate at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Coordinators/Election 2. It would be particularly beneficial if we had individuals from as broad a range of areas of the project as possible, to help ensure that we have people knowledgable about the widest range of content possible. Collaboration of the month

[edit]

Is there interested members to chose some subject about Christianity in Chine and to work on it together (sevveral of us) and to make it article to FA or GA status?--Vojvodae please be free to write :) 21:00, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My suggestion is Local churches (affiliation). Sarcelles (talk) 16:21, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree if there are enought material. I can work intensive after September 24th. So we can collect good resources and expend this article. --Vojvodae please be free to write :) 15:45, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There is enough material, believe me. I'd suggest starting at the first of the month, however, to give it more of a "collaboration of the month" feel. John Carter (talk) 17:38, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
October the 1st? It is OK for me! first of all we can make some comperhensive bibliography (print and internet sources). Write here or on my talk page when we start to work on this subject. Best wishes, --Vojvodae please be free to write :) 17:47, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Today is October the 1st. Shall we start with work? I suggest to make first good, accurate and comprehensive bibliography (both electronic and printed) and than make preliminary organization of article (main subjects, headlines etc) and than to write it :). I agree to first subject be Local churches (affiliation).--Vojvodae please be free to write :) 07:06, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Christianity in Asia

[edit]

Earlier this year, I made a proposal to start a WikiProject "Christianity in Asia" but it was voted down- so how did this one get to be? ACEOREVIVED (talk) 21:10, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The bulk of the work is done. Now I just need your opinion. If you help, you'll get good Review Karma, and I'll help you with your articles as they need reviewing. Need reviewers for a cathedral up for Featured Article

[edit]

St. Michael's Cathedral, Qingdao is up for review at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/St. Michael's Cathedral, Qingdao/archive3. Its only had two reviewers and is awaiting a few others. It is a quick and easy read, showing how this cathedral, built by German missionaries, weathered the coming of the communists and the cultural revolution. If promoted, it will be the Christianity in China work group's only FA. Please check it out! ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 04:32, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Christianity portals

[edit]

I am currently trying to get together some lists of articles relevant to each Christianity-related portal which could be used, at least potentially, to help bring all the extant portals up to Featured Portal status. The current, admittedly incomplete, list of articles, images, etc., relevant to each portal can be found at User:John Carter/Christianity portals. I also think that, at least in theory, we would probably best use a single article only in a single portal, and that we probably have enough articles to do that, although there might be a few exceptions. I would welcome input from anyone on the associated talk page regarding which articles and other materials they would like to see associated with which portal(s), any suggestions for additional portals or changes to existing portals, etc. Thank you. Proposed redirection of Christianity subproject talk pages

I have recently started discussion about possibly eliminating the use of a separate talk page for it here. Input from any interested editors is very welcome and encouraged. Thank you. John Carter (talk) 22:13, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Catholic Church in China needs improved quality to make ITN

[edit]

The article Catholic Church in China is currently receiving lots of support on grounds of notability to be included as an In the News item on our main page, but it still requires a lot of work to bring it up to the necessary quality.Tlhslobus (talk) 02:50, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

[edit]

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request for review and perhaps copyediting

[edit]

Hi Christianity in China work group,

I recently reworked Luo Wenzao, the first Chinese Catholic bishop. On its talk page, this article is supported by your work group and marked as High-importance.

I have completed the corpus of the article–it just needs some fine tuning and trimming. I am hoping to prepare the article for GA (and perhaps FA?). My English grammar is not excellent, and I am not sure if I have abided by the Wikipedia rules and Wikipedia:Manual of Style. An extra set of eyes would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

I am not sure if this is the right place to place this request. If not, please kindly direct me. -- TheLonelyPather (talk) 20:38, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
