RV University is a new-age university for Liberal education based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.It was established by the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST), which has over eight decades of legacy of excellence in higher education.RV University (RVU) is a state-private university[7] which has been established in 2021 and is governed by the RV University Act of 2019,[8] it is notified by Department of Higher Education,Government of Karnataka, India.

Affiliation

RV University is a state-private university established in Bangalore under the RV University Act 2019 [9] is approved by Government of Karnataka,India.[10] RV University has received all regulatory approvals by the University Grants Commission (UGC), India.[11][12][13]

History

RV University is an initiative of RV Educational Institutions (RVEI), governed by the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST)[14] which is a charitable trust managing Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Educational Institutions (RVEI) in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST) through the RV institutions are in the forefront among providers of quality education in the state of Karnataka and known globally for imparting quality education in different disciplines. Today, Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST) has over 25 institutions across Bangalore constituting more than 20,000 students every year under its umbrella.[15] RV University is one of the parent institutes which come under Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST) which also manages RV College of Engineering.

Admission

RVU admits students based on RVSAT (RV Scholastic Admission Test is the national-level entrance exam) and RVU Selection Process for all UG, PG and PhD Programmes[20] of RV University. RVU admits 40% of undergraduate engineering students based on their Karnataka CET ranks. Also RVU admits students under a management quota.

Collaborations

RV university has forged meaningful collaborations with reputed & iconic universities, institutes and companies in India and all over the world. RV university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bryant University[22], Seattle University[23], Old Dominion University in the US, Teesside University in UK and Ziroh Labs for academic and research collaboration[24][25]. RV University signed a MoU with Asia’s largest integrated higher Edtech platform, upGrad to offer a joint M.Tech programme in data science[26].RV University signed a MoU with Dhurakij Pundit University, Thailand to enhancing educational opportunities and fostering a stronger global academic network[27][28].NSE Academy Limited (NAD), a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has signed an agreement with RV University for a Post Graduate Certification Program in Global Financial Markets[29].

Scholarships

The RV university has allocated Rs 10 crore for merit scholarships for the ensuing academic year starting in August 2023. This will benefit 500 students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes[30][31].
