Hi there - Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information, especially about living people. You didn't provide a source for your changes to the Robert Sánchez article, and I couldn't find one either. If you have a reliable source please let me know and we can change the article. Please let me know if you have any questions. GiantSnowman 12:17, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Transfermarkt is not considered to be a reliable source and should not be used. GiantSnowman 14:32, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Because it is user generated, so the same reason that WP:WIKIPEDIAISNOTARELIABLESOURCE. However this looks fine so I'll update the article. GiantSnowman 14:38, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No need to apologise! Let me know if you have any more queries. GiantSnowman 14:42, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

El Xokas moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, El Xokas, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Women in Red

Hi there, Dandilero, and welcome to Women in Red. I'm happy to see you intend to create more biographies of women by translating articles from Spanish. In this connection, you might like to take part in our translation contest which begins today. If you have not already done so, you should look through our Ten Simple Rules. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 07:25, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Ipigott Thank you for your welcome! I have created 4 articles since the contest started but haven't yet signed up. If I sign up now, can I post these 4 articles or do they no longer count towards the contest? Thank you! Dandilero (talk) 13:59, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Categorization

Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's rules about duplicate categorization: people are not filed in both parent and child categories at the same time, but go only in the most specific relevant categories.

Namely, do not file a woman in both Category:Spanish actresses and Category:Women at the same time. Being in the "actresses" category means she's already categorized for her gender, which means an actress does not need to be categorized directly in "Women" at the same time as being categorized as an actress — and, in fact, Category:Women itself is not actually supposed to have any individual people in it at all, because all women are supposed to be subcategorized by nationality and/or occupation. So please stop adding Category:Women to articles about Spanish actresses, because being categorized as an actress already covers off their gender. Bearcat (talk) 15:54, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced and odd claim in Karmele Marchante

Hi, in the recently created article Karmele Marchante you included the statement "She then moved to the Scandinavian countries because of her marriage to an Icelandic linguist, where she lived and worked as a flying reporter." I was puzzled by this, since "the Scandinavian countries" usually means Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, and sometimes also refers to Finland and Iceland – so which of the three (or five) countries did she move to, and did she move around between them, or what? Looking at the source, all it says is that her first husband was from Iceland and she lived there for a while, and has Icelandic citizenship. Where did you find the information about her husband's profession? I'll edit the text a bit to say she lived in Iceland. --bonadea contributions talk 06:48, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

She says it in a video on her YouTube channel. I have added it as a source. Dandilero (talk) 12:26, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted

Hi Dandilero, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Schwede66 04:09, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

None of the sources in the article is independent. They are all based on the same press release, which means that ther is in fact only one source.

Women in Red 8th Anniversary

Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap!
