Talk to me, Andy Mabbett
- If you post a message on this page, I'll reply on this page to avoid fragmenting the discussion.
- If I've left you a message on your talk page, I will be watching it, so please reply there rather than here (but do feel free to drop a copy of {{Talkback}} here).
- If appropriate, I will move discussion from here to the relevant article's talk page, so that anyone interested can join in.
- If you want to start a new discussion thread, please start it at the bottom of the page. Better still, use the "+" tab next to the "edit this page" tab, or the link at the foot of this section, either of which will do that automatically.
- Please do not make links from within section headings.
- Inaccessible HTML (coloured text, "small" tags", etc.) will be removed from this page on sight.
- Please sign and date your entries by inserting four tildes (~~~~) at the end.
- Start a new discussion.

Merge
Hi Pigsonthewing. After setting the merge process at paisley and buta in motion, aren't you supposed to create the initial entry in the discussion to serve as point of departure for others to then express their views and support/ oppose? I believe people need a little prodding, otherwise if they go to the discussion page and see that the discussion space has not even been initiated, they will jsut turn away? Regards, Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 20:27, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- No, but if you wish to, be my guest. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:29, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- From Template:Merge/doc, "After adding the merge template, please create a section on the talkpage explaining your rationale for the merge proposal." So, yes, you are supposed to start the discussion you are pointing people to. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:16, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

Precious again
win(g) for infoboxes
Thank you for quality contributions toward "improving, standardising and rationalising templates, especially infoboxes" such as the growing one for Bach's compositions, for "gently reminding ... don't own sections of Wikipedia" to freely share in the sum of all knowledge: you are an awesome Wikipedian!
Two years ago, you were the 340th recipient of my PumpkinSky Prize, - thank you also for "peace and reconciliation" and for quoting "Let us not forget that even one book, one pen, one teacher can change the world." (pictured) - Please stop making edits which require intelligent reading, such as helping a new new user and helping me ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:46, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 24
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Andrea Marshall, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page National Geographic. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi there. I saw your name on the Highbeam list. I didn't use my Highbeam/WP account much and let it go but do need a copy of this article for a piece I'm working on: http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-259267.html Any way that I could con you into copy-pasting that into a word processor document and making that into a pdf for me? Nailsea Glassworks
Thanks for the DYK nomination, but I haven't finished writing the Nailsea Glassworks article yet and I was going to combine it with the Elms Colliery one (which I haven't started yet).— Rod talk 11:31, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Rodw: New articles only have a five-day window for DYK; that doesn't stop you working on it in the meantime, nor indeed subsequently. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:34, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
So what are your motives?
Do you not care that (a) you've been ruining the layout of thousands of articles, or that (b) other people are upset by (a)? This is a matter of collegiality: you need to be able to accommodate differing opinion. You may, of course, have a legitimate reason for omitting this parameter, but you'll need to say what that is; the fact that the option's absent from Twinkle clearly isn't sufficient excuse. 213.7.227.83 (talk) 19:11, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- It seems to upset a few editors (some of whom are clearly intent on hounding me on any issue they can find); while many others are not troubled by it; and others are upset by any notification.. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:17, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- I've no interest in hounding you and otherwise appreciate your efforts. This is obviously a somewhat major issue to several people. And it has a very simple remedy. It might disrupt your workflow, but so does having to tend to all of these complaints. If I could edit these templates after you, I wouldn't really mind as much. But I can't. Please, use the
|type=
parameter in the future. 213.7.227.83 (talk) 19:26, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
