La Compagnie, legally incorporated as DreamJet SAS, is a French airline based at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, with headquarters in Le Bourget in the Paris metropolitan area.[1] It offers all-business class flights from Paris to Newark Liberty International Airport.

History

La Compagnie was founded as DreamJet in 2013. It was created by French entrepreneurs in the hopes of making an all-business class airline with a low-cost structure, offering business class fares lower than those of legacy carriers. The company's CEO is Frantz Yvelin, the founder of L’Avion which was sold to British Airways' subsidiary OpenSkies, and the deputy CEO is Peter Luethi, a former CEO of the Indian airline Jet Airways.[2]

The airline's Boeing 757 aircraft are equipped with an all-business class cabin with 74 seats that convert to angled flat beds.[3] Food is served in a two-course meal. Inflight entertainment is provided on tablet devices. La Compagnie uses contract lounges for its passengers. The first scheduled revenue flight, already under the new name La Compagnie ("The Company"), operated on 21 July 2014.[4]

On 24 April 2015, the airline started a second scheduled route from London Luton Airport to Newark.[5]

In April 2016, La Compagnie announced a refit of their cabin interiors as well as considering a mid-term fleet renewal with either Airbus A320neo or Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.[6]

In September 2016, the airline announced to terminate its route from London-Luton to Newark and to replace it with a second daily Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Newark service stating economic reasons.[7]
