Now confirmed, nintendo's new logo is white on red Cards84664 (talk) 14:45, 20 October 2016 (UTC) https://www.nintendo.co.jp/switch/index.html[reply]

It is just used there and nowhere else; official homepage still uses grey logo, and no confirmation has been seen beyond that. Lordtobi () 14:53, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nintendo's main website in the US is using the white on red logo. I'll have to say that the change is possible. Lets wait a little longer to make sure. (76.1.121.138 (talk) 16:58, 20 October 2016 (UTC))[reply]
Nintendo of America are the only ones with the red logo. The European and Japanese sites and social media accounts continue to use the grey and have for months, so we shouldn't change it until they do. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 18:48, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It seems the white on red wall logo is only used on a marketing scale rather than their actual corporate identity, likely reflecting the Nintendo Switch's and possibly the My Nintendo logos, which use the same colours. Nintendo Australia's official website is now using the white on red wall logo, by the way. Hope(N Forever) (talk) 18:06, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I don't think we should consider changing the logo here until the corporate side does it, or at least Nintendo Japan does, but it's something to look out for now. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 21:08, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nintendo Japan have officially changed it, as well as their Twitter. Adam tighe (talk) 16:58, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The world site is still grey, as is the main company logo at the bottom of most pages. Don't confuse the regional website logos as corporate logo. Note the company info pages here and here. -- ferret (talk) 17:26, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Changing it to newest logo. I presume the only reason the logo is still grey on corporate pages is because web development for said pages have not occurred yet. European webpage has recently changed to red on white, but some pages still remain with the original grey, because development is still in progress. Latest amiibo packaging uses red on white. If these items are being changed, the corporate identity will most likely be changed as well. If disputed, obviously, disregard this and change it back. RomaniPi (talk) 13:12, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to ping WP:VG to get a few more eyes on it, since this section has had only a few editors involved thus far. -- ferret (talk) 14:34, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Unless you have confirmation from actual corporate documents (not a web page) that they have colorized the logo, this seems a flimsy excuse to change from the grey version. As noted, regional offices may modify the core logo to their purposes. --MASEM (t) 19:56, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Nintendo of Japan's homepage and social media accounts seems to have gone with the red logo now, which was the one thing holding this back originally. Nintendo's next shareholder meeting is at the end of March, so I say we should wait to see if they have any changes (the current IR page still uses grey). ~ Dissident93 (talk) 04:39, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Which does clearly seem to be tied to the Switch branding too. So I do agree waiting until March makes sense. --MASEM (t) 03:08, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I actually was right the first time, their last shareholder meeting was a few days ago. Anyway, they were still using the grey logo in their presentation material, so it likely remains a promotional thing only, for now. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 11:57, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Coming back to this, but Nintendo does seem to be using this worldwide for marketing material and has for the past half-year. Is it time for us to change it too? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 16:11, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Dissident93: If they are using the red and white logo everywhere now, then yes, it's time for a change. DBZFan30 (talk) 16:19, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
My only argument against was that NOA was the only party using the new design, and as such not Nintendo Co., Ltd. which is discussed in the article. However, they https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ have also adpoted it, so a change would be reasonable. Lordtobi () 16:21, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well, not technically everywhere, but this is more likely to do with them just forgetting than something deliberate, as the Japanese homepage and social media accounts have used this for the past 7 months, which was my main argument against this in the past. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 16:24, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nintendo's most recent CSR report uses the new logo. Cards84664 (talk) 16:54, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That it does. One thing to mention is that this should be considered a new logo, not a return to the one from the NES days due to it actually be inverted color wise. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 17:17, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Date of founding

Should actually be 22nd September not 23rd, as verified by the reference contained within the article. Can someone please change this to be correct. Thanks

創 業 明治22年9月

That source actually states the Japanese year and month, not the day and month. 明治22年9月 = Meiji 22 (or 1889) September. AnimeCargirl (talk) 01:22, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Logos and eras

While it's not completely clear-cut, it appears to me that since Nintendo became a primarily video game company, each logo it's had since has corresponded to the leadership of a certain CEO. Red with while filling for Yamauchi, transparent monochrome for Iwata, and white-on-red for Kimishima. In both the latter cases, each revision was introduced around the time of (and also matches the logo colors of) the first home console release made under that CEO (Wii and Switch, although Iwata was also head for most of the GameCube years). I was wondering on how to include this in the logos section if at all, or am I just seeing patterns that aren't there? VinLAURiA (talk) 03:48, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • How is this any different from trivia? Nintendo never comments on it, nor have any sources, so even if this was true, I wouldn't document it here. And the latest logo seemed to correlate more with the Switch launching/ending of the Wii branded era than anything else. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 17:54, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New Mobile Games

As of October 27, 2017, the article's section on mobile games has not been updated to include the new mobile game Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp which was debuted during a Nintendo Direct announcement[1] on October 25, 2017 and is set to release in the US and UK in November 2017. The game is already available in Australia[2].

The rest of the article however is well sourced and seems to be up to date! Mattesonhaglund (talk) 13:50, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Change "third most valuable company in Japan" to "second" Colbyseaman (talk) 00:32, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. -- ferret (talk) 00:37, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Would this source be enough? Nintendo is ranked #1 with 946 billion yen in net cash reserves. [7] Tom Mai (talk) 18:04, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
