Help

Hey you asked me to add those external Links to the External Links Section & go by the guidelines of Wiki which you linked and I read everything about Linking & External Links and how everything needs to be formatted. I followed all instructions and then another Admin who is being dishonest has lied and removed the external Links having some type of personal effect to what it was related to I can only assume considering the links were related to Electronic Harassment & Gangstalking which can clearly be reviewed and inv3estigated if I can get some other Admins involved who are honest. I would still like to add the external links they are relevant you can check them and they should be there on that page in Wiki this is important information that is not included or available and ads to the learning experience of Electronic Harassment and Ganstalking adding actual information on what a Targeted Individual is when it comes to Electronic Harassment, All the info is on that website I tried to link externally. I do research on the topic and felt it was worthy of adding. Please help me remove these false reports against me by this dishonest lying false accusation making Wiki Admin. I want to appeal and hold this person responsible for being dishonest and I have all the proof to back it up and to prove the external link I added was relevant and in need of supply considering its crucial information that is not provided by the thread or page. Credible information. Here is the URL -https://maininfo.wixsite.com/gangstalking

Blade, I am writing you as an Administrator because of your listed interest in Metal Bands. I am trying to find the deleted page of Christophe Szpajdel, not a musician but has created thousands of logos

https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/Christophe_"Volvox"_Szpajdel/75355

(something in "Volvox"_Szpajdel/75355 this url is conflicting with wiki text)

for metal, black metal and death metal bands. Any help or advice you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Christophe Szpajdel has had numerous exhibitions including the Walker Art Center, been featured in publications including Vice and Wired among others. He has an existing Wikipedia page in German , Polish and japanese.

I am interested in RE-creating an English page for him, his page was deleted and I would like to put one up within the guidelines. Any help / advice / input would be appreciated.

Administrator nomination

Good evening. I saw you are listed on the list of editors who are willing to nominate users for administrator permissions, and I am here to ask for your opinion on my chances of success. I've been editing Wikipedia for nearly 10 years now, and I have mainly focused on fighting vandalism (a broad term, I know) and new page patrolling.

Over the years I have gained enough trust to earn a number of permissions including rollback, reviewer, autopatrolled, and more recently patroller. You may note that over the past few years my edit count has dropped, sometimes quite significantly, however I have always tried to maintain a presence on the project and a good knowledge of the policies.

I am always willing to own up to mistakes I have or may make. It was a life lesson for me a few years ago that you absolutely do learn from your mistakes, and this has since become a mantra for me. As such, my edit history has nothing to hide. Please feel free to browse through, and I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have, and as I know this is a huge favour to ask from a volunteer I thank you in advance for your thoughts. The future of NPP and AfC/Work group

Hi The Blade of the Northern Lights,

In view of the huge and sudden backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed since mid 2016, the WMF has begun a dialogue in a quest to examine the situation and possible solutions. Please consider commenting there if you have not already done so. It is highly recommended to read it all before it becomes too long to follow. The project is at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Analysis and proposal, and its talk page.

Re: Gurbaksh Chahal

Hi there, it seems like there has been a lot of trolling to my wikipedia page Gurbaksh Chahal and you have banned it for 1 year. Can you revert this so it can go back to the hands of actual contributors who can fix it from the incorrect information currently on the page which further projects vandalism. The fact you banned it for one-year from editing is just exacerbating the current situation for me.

Sunday July 30: Action=History Wiki-Hackathon @ Ace Hotel

On the last Sunday of every month, the Boardroom at Ace Hotel New York hosts Action Equals History — a unique opportunity for New Yorkers to learn hands-on in a technology training/workshop session about the mechanics, practices and benefits of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects. This is an opportunity for all to gather, share and work collectively towards a more robust account of history.

For this month, we'll focus on Wikipedia casual editing, ways to use and develop Wikidata, building better edit-a-thon tools for a variety of different thematic campaigns, and user-testing them with the community. Towards a goal of advancing these tools for wider use with diverse local groups.

I just wanted to let you know that I undeleted Wikipedia talk:Administrator intervention against vandalism/Archive 1, which you had speedy deleted per G8. Although technically this talk archive is "orphaned" because the main page Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism isn't archived, I think keeping a record of the talk page discussion regarding AIV is useful. The archives go up to Wikipedia talk:Administrator intervention against vandalism/Archive 15, afterall. I hope you don't mind that I undeleted that first one without consulting you. Following the first Met edit-a-thon in May 2017, the museum is excited to work with Wikipedia Asian Month for the potential to seed new articles about Asian artworks, artwork types, and art traditions, from any part of Asia. The event is an opportunity for Wikimedia communities to engage The Met's diverse Asian collections onsite and remotely.

ANI Experiences survey

The Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (led by the Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) is conducting a survey for en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.

The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:

Scunthorpe problem

The last bullet point in Scunthorpe problem § Refused web domain names and email addresses previously read

  • In July 2008, Dr. Herman I. Libshitz was initially unable to get the e-mail address he wanted from Verizon because it contained the substring shit. A spokesperson commented: "As a general rule (since 2005) Verizon doesn't allow questionable language in e-mail addresses, but we can, and do, make exceptions based on reasonable requests. The one from Dr. and Mrs. Libshitz certainly is reasonable and we regret the inconvenience and frustration they've been caused."

You deleted the spokesperson's comment with the edit summary "Who cares?", leaving the paragraph as

  • In July 2008, Dr. Herman I. Libshitz was initially unable to get the e-mail address he wanted from Verizon because it contained the substring shit.

That's inadequate.

  1. The quotation explains that the company's policy isn't absolute. That's important.
  2. Even if you don't care, other readers may. I do, for one, because Verizon did allow this request after, apparently, an appeal and explanation by Dr. Libshitz.

So I have reverted your change. I marked it as "vandalism" because of your "Who cares?", and because I hadn't yet come to this page and seen your header, which is certainly not the style of a scribbling vandal. I apologize for this; I should have assumed good faith. If I knew a way to remove that tag, I would.

If you want to discuss this, please reply here and {{Ping}} me. --Thnidu (talk) 07:39, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Thnidu: I removed it in keeping with other explanations on that page; it doesn't really have anything to do with the article subject, namely software filters misfiring. Some time ago a bunch of these had long-winded comments from spokesmen, but editors excised them due to the aforementioned points. WrestleCircus

Thanks for deleting WrestleCircus. This same user just did the same thing with creating a draft of Defiant Wrestling which has been deleted more than once. Perhaps should this be SALTed like the other one? - GalatzTalk 16:31, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Curamericas

Hello, you deleted the Curamericas page but never gave any substanitive reasoning as to why it should be. Please ellaborate.

Field of Honor (2014)

Hey, I see you deleted Field of Honor (2014). I understand why, however this was an article I had been wanting to create anyway. Can you move it to my userspace so i can use it as a basis to start it? I am following your page for the reply. Thanks! - GalatzTalk 23:57, 22 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bug you again, just realized he also created 3 more. Can you move them for me as well.

Thanks - GalatzTalk 01:47, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Huh. I'm not seeing any deleted revisions at those titles, and there's nothing in the deleted contributions with those names. I'll have to look around. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 02:35, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Weird, maybe I am wrong. He wrote he created them on his user page, which is why I thought it was. I guess my mistake. - GalatzTalk 03:04, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 13:56, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sajidul Islam Pathan

Headsup: I noticed that someone has re-created the article Sajidul Islam Pathan which according to its Talk page you deleted 20 feb 2018. Derek Andrews (talk) 14:57, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I did. Since it's now at AfD I'll let that run its course, otherwise I'd have no problem deleting it; this version does nothing to address the previous reasons for deletion. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 16:23, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Munor foxes are an endangered species, so be careful. EEng 22:50, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ha! After testing, it was a combination of an autocorrect missing and an autocorrect misfire; I've had the two happen in the same paragraph, but never in consecutive words. Between that and things like "don.'this" showing up more than occasionally I know Sum Ting Wong with my autocorrect, Ho Lee Fuk. ACTRIAL - next steps for the Future of AfC & NPP

Hello The Blade of the Northern Lights, thank you for your efforts reviewing New Page and AfC submissions and your support for the ACTRIAL initiative.

The conclusion to the ACTRIAL report commissioned by the Wikimedia Foundation strongly reiterates our long-time on going requirements for the NPP and AfC processes to be improved. Within minutes of the trial being switched off, the feed was swamped with inappropriate creations and users are being blocked already.
This is now the moment to continue to collaborate with the WMF and their developers to bring the entire Curation system up to date by making a firm commitment to addressing the list of requirements to the excellent suite of tools the WMF developed for Curation. Some of these are already listed at Phabricator but may need a boost.
The conclusions also make some recommendations for AfC.
A place to discuss these issues initially is here where you are already a task force member.

XFDCloser

This message is in respond to my undo of your edit. In a nutshell, I guess XFDCloser doesn't detect edit conflicts, and edits the section that is the same number from the top when it was used. This may be a point to bring up to the tool's creator. Steel1943 (talk) 18:51, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Huh. That's really odd, sorry about that. What a mess, thanks for fixing it. I'll be able to look into it more in about an hour. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 18:56, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good now... except for Opulence and Talk:Opulence. Please restore those pages as you just accidentally deleted an article (and its talk page) that was moved to Opulence after you deleted the redirect. Also, you may be interested in User talk:Evad37/XFDcloser.js#XFDCloser doesn't detect edit conflicts?; this pertains to the issue that XFDCloser created. Consider the restoration done. I'll join in the discussion in a bit. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 20:28, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Signpost

Hi. The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it that may be of particular interest to you. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. All Wikipedia editors are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the editorial board for the next issue.Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:31, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I held of closing that section as I actually see the initial discussion differently. I read it as consensus to keep, but there have been two deleters since you relisted. I still think the conversation leans keep, but as that would essentially derail your initial assessment I wanted to bring it here first. If you think the consensus goes to delete, no worries, just think you should do the honors. ~ Amory (utc) 10:33, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine with whatever you want to do. It doesn't make a real difference to me one way or the other, I'm fine with anything you come up with; I wanted to leave that for someone else myself. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 14:38, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Closed by BDD as no consensus, so everybody wins. ~ Amory (utc) 18:28, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
