Nomination for deletion of Irene Roberts

Hi, you didn't actually nominate this for deletion, you just added a link to a 2006 AFD. Therefore I have removed the AFD notice from the page. If you still wish to nominate the page for deletion, please follow the instructions at WP:AFDHOWTO, noting what to do if the article has been nominated before. Thank you. — 🌼📽️AnemoneProjectors💬 06:23, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Danielle Mastrion

Hello Meeanaya, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Danielle Mastrion, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Article claims importance/significance of the subject. If you are interested in learning more about how speedy deletion works, I have compiled a list of helpful pages at User:SoWhy/SDA. You can of course also contact me if you have questions. Thank you. Speedy deletion

Hello Meeanaya -- Could I ask you to slow down with applying speedy deletion tags and re-read the rules for A7 carefully? The summary is that "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines." Mauro Castagnaro, when you tagged it, already had at least one claim that would have been enough to meet the A7 criteria. Regards, Espresso Addict (talk) 11:12, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please follow Espresso Addict's advice rather than continue with obviously incorrect speedy deletion nominations such as Bdood, Fiona Lazareff and Avni Shah. You are obviously keen to help, but you need to adjust your sights considerably before applying any more speedy deletion tags. Phil Bridger (talk) 07:22, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Purnima Gupta

I am sorry but I must ask you why you added Purnima Gupta to "the list of Astronomy-related deletion discussions" ? FYI in modern times Astronomy is NOT related to Astrology. -- Bayoustarwatch (talk) 16:34, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination for deletion of Giga Ltd

Hello Meeanaya Regarding nomination Giga Ltd for deletion, I believe the articles contain sufficient information about the ISP firm, actually better than other existing ISP firm pages on Wikipedia, such as Andrews & Arnold. But I will be glad to improve the article as much as possible. Mohamed Benazzouz (talk) 13:22, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Moving to drafts

Hello Meeanaya, I'd recommend using the script User:Evad37/MoveToDraft when moving articles to drafts, the script performs the necessary cleanup tasks such as marking the old redirect for deletion, notifying the author, and adding {{draft}} to the article (without which the user won't know how to publish their article for review).

I also want to recommend that you try to limit WP:OVERTAGGING, too many tags are often not helpful. You might want to consider spending a few weeks expanding some already existing articles since experience in writing good and well-referenced content is always beneficial.

Best, --89.153.169.78 (talk) 14:35, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Just FYI, you don't need to send an article to AfD to "merge and redirect", which counts as a form of "keep" in an AfD discussion as the page history has to be kept when merging articles. You can propose merges on article talk pages, or do them yourself when they are obviously appropriate. For more information see WP:MERGE#Proposing a merge. How can you delete this page ? . All reference are very reliable these are from prestigious newspaper. This is fullfill all the policyand guidelines of Wikipedia

User:Abhishek shannu, let's talk on AFD. Meeanaya (talk) 05:59, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ritesh Agarwal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — kashmīrī TALK 19:45, 31 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bajajnagar, Udaipur moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Bajajnagar, Udaipur, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:46, 7 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:CASSIOPEIA, this is a page for a village and not any promotional content, notability is inherited. Are you sure that it was a right move? Meeanaya (talk) 04:47, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Meeanaya, greetings. The above message indicated the article did not provide WP:SIGCOV coverage by publisehed independent, reliable sources (such as sources from newspapers and books) to support the content claimed and did not state the article is promotional. You provided the list of school in Udaipur but what we need are sources talk about the subject "directly" and not merely passing mentioned. Thank you. Nomination for deletion of Jennifer Hardy CK

Hi there, this is my first time writing an article on Wikipedia. I saw your message: "Strong Delete: A few minor roles, nothing significant for her. Meeanaya (talk) 07:00, 29 August 2019". Unsure if you've checked some of the resources in Jennifer Hardy CK wiki link, but she had first lead in the film "Spice It Up" and her Jennifer Hardy CK name was used in National Post & Now Magazine since she's the lead in the film. "Spice It Up" is also on Wikipedia link with her photo on the film poster, if the film is large enough to be a Wikipedia entry then I think so should the lead. Is there anything else that I need to add or change in the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aalamina (talkcontribs) 18:57, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Will you please stop reverting the names into "OPPO"? Article relating to Oppo phones have used "Oppo" as the common title, not the upper-case one which is merely a stylized text of the company's brand. New page reviewer granted

Hi Meeanaya. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encylopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. Barkeep49 (talk) 20:39, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

On what basis do you believe Cecilia Harvey is "Created by undisclosed paid editor" as you said at AfD? That's quite an accusation to throw around. No-one has suggested it on the creating editor's talk page, nor (till just now) dropped a welcome template there. Yes, it's the first article they have created, but everyone starts somewhere: do you suspect that they are a sockpuppet of another editor? PamD 11:32, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

PamD, I am not sure if I am not smart enough. But it is 1,000% paid editing from a big sock farm. It was a proper planned perfect execution, the biggest hint I got with the photo, a private, nice high quality photo uploaded on commons from flickr. So first, a new flickr account created in October 2019, Photo was uploaded on flickr on 15 Oct, uploaded on commons on 17 Oct, page editing started on sandbox from 10 Oct, made over 10 edits, got auto confirmed account and moved to mainspace on 21 October with no errors. Contested deletion bridge21

I contested this using the button, but wanted to mention this here too because I don't think I addressed the reasoning for the contestation sufficiently.

bridge21 is a globally recognized payments provider. The (direct) references about bridge21 include NASDAQ (that's the second largest stock exchange in the world), American Banker (the largest banking publication in the world), and Techstars (one of the top 2 company accelerators in the world).

The company is not insignificant in the payments industry, as is proven by the references that have written about bridge21. While I did not include it in the article for the sake of brevity and to keep the entry non-commercial, we are one of the oldest operating blockchain technology companies. The British and Mexican governments invited us to their countries because what we do is so innovative in our industry. Cambridge University studied us a few years ago. We should really have a wikipedia page. Thank you for reconsidering!

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Fat Head Racing Driver Development Program. I do not think that Fat Head Racing Driver Development Program fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because "The team has since grown into one of the largest SLM and PLM Development teams in the world" is a claim of significence. I request that you consider not re-tagging Fat Head Racing Driver Development Program for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. New Page Review newsletter November 2019

Hello Meeanaya,

This newsletter comes a little earlier than usual because the backlog is rising again and the holidays are coming very soon.

Getting the queue to 0

There are now 799 holders of the New Page Reviewer flag! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog but it's still roughly less than 10% doing 90% of the work. Now it's time for action.
Exactly one year ago there were 'only' 3,650 unreviewed articles, now we will soon be approaching 7,000 despite the growing number of requests for the NPR user right. If each reviewer soon does only 2 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by every reviewer doing only 1 review every 2 days - that's only a few minutes work on the bus on the way to the office or to class! Let's get this over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.
Want to join? Consider adding the NPP Pledge userbox.
Our next newsletter will announce the winners of some really cool awards.

Coordinator

Admin Barkeep49 has been officially invested as NPP/NPR coordinator by a unanimous consensus of the community. This is a complex role and he will need all the help he can get from other experienced reviewers.

This month's refresher course

Paid editing is still causing headaches for even our most experienced reviewers: This official Wikipedia article will be an eye-opener to anyone who joined Wikipedia or obtained the NPR right since 2015. See The Hallmarks to know exactly what to look for and take time to examine all the sources.

Tools
  • It is now possible to select new pages by date range. This was requested by reviewers who want to patrol from the middle of the list.
  • It is now also possible for accredited reviewers to put any article back into the New Pages Feed for re-review. The link is under 'Tools' in the side bar.
Reviewer Feedback

Would you like feedback on your reviews? Are you an experienced reviewer who can give feedback to other reviewers? If so there are two new feedback pilot programs. New Reviewer mentorship will match newer reviewers with an experienced reviewer with a new reviewer. The other program will be an occasional peer review cohort for moderate or experienced reviewers to give feedback to each other. The first cohort will launch November 13.

Second set of eyes
  • Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work, especially while some routine tagging for deletion can still be carried out by non NPR holders and inexperienced users. Read about it at the Monitoring the system section in the tutorial. If you come across such editors doing good work, don't hesitate to encourage them to apply for NPR.
  • Do be sure to have our talk page on your watchlist. There are often items that require reviewers' special attention, such as to watch out for pages by known socks or disruptive editors, technical issues and new developments, and of course to provide advice for other reviewers.
Arbitration Committee

The annual ArbCom election will be coming up soon. All eligible users will be invited to vote. While not directly concerned with NPR, Arbcom cases often lead back to notability and deletion issues and/or actions by holders of advanced user rights.

Community Wish list

There is to be no wish list for WMF encyclopedias this year. We thank Community Tech for their hard work addressing our long list of requirements which somewhat overwhelmed them last year, and we look forward to a successful completion.
