Ulëz is a town and a former municipality in the Dibër County, northern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Mat.[1] The population at the 2011 census was 1,229.[2] It was once part of the Oher Municipality, which was later divided between Mat and Mirditë. The region contains the recently proclaimed Ulza Regional Nature Park.
Economy
The Ulëz Hydroelectric Power Station is a big dam supplying a lot of electricity to Albania and the city its self. The dam gets it water from a reservoir with the Mat river flowing in to it. The electrical capacity of the Dam is 25.2 MW. And is still active today.
