JVBI is awarded Grade-'A' by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Categorized-'A' by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and ISO 9001:2008 certified University. It is declared as Top 17 Private / Deemed University in India and Best Deemed University in Rajasthan. History

JVBI was established with the inspiration of Acharya Tulsi, the 9th Head of the Jain Svetambar Terapanth religious sect, in Ladnun, Dist Nagaur, Rajasthan. In 1991, UGC University Grants Commission under Section 3 of the U.G.C. Act of 1956,[1] notified JVBI as "Deemed University" under Section 3 of University Grants Commission Act, 1956 on the recommendation of the Government of India. The Institute continues to be housed in the common campus of its parent body organization Jain Vishva Bharati. Acharya Tulsi remained its first constitutional Anushasta (moral and spiritual guide) followed by Acharya Mahapragya as its second Anushasta. Acharya Mahashraman is its present Anushasta.

Location

The institute is in Ladnun, a small town in Nagaur District of Rajasthan. It is 380 km west of Delhi and 225 km. northwest of Jaipur. It is well served by deluxe and express bus services from Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Ajmer, Ahemdabad, Delhi and other cities. The nearest airports are Jaipur and Jodhpur. Even though the town (Ladnun) is located in an arid zone, the campus is full of greenery with parks, peacocks and gardens. It is like an oasis in the middle of the desert. The environment is free from noise and pollution. The spiritual ambiance of the campus provides a peaceful atmosphere of the traditional “Gurukul”, which is the ideal for studies and research. The academic environment on the campus fosters self-discipline, promotes quality of life and commitment to higher values.

Academics

Jain Vishva Bharati Institute with its aim to serve the humanity and share the knowledge inside and outside the Rajasthan runs various courses via regular mode and distance mode. Regular studies help the student in overall progress along with internal and external development of personality. Through regular mode studies student is directly benefited with values and teachings of the staff, the spiritual ambience of the campus, extra co-curricular activities, guest lectures, fieldwork, and many other activities going on in day-to-day programmes of the institute.

Distance Education Courses

JVBI has been pursuing to disseminate oriental studies since its establishment. To serve this purpose, the institute has been providing courses not only in regular mode but also in correspondence mode to benefit those who don't have access to learn about Jainism and other allied subjects through regular studies. Under this programme students can get knowledge as well as build their academic carrier. This programme focus on the courses like Jainism, Science of Living, Commerce, English Literature, Library Science, etc.

JVBI undertakes various post-graduates, graduates and certificate courses, i.e. Master Degree Courses in Jainology; Yoga and Science of Living; Education; Hindi; English; Nonviolence; Bachelor Degree Courses in B.A. (Bachelor of Arts); B.Com. (Bachelor of Commerce); B.Lib. & I.Sc. (Bachelor of Library & Information Science); BPP (Bachelor Preparatory Programme); Certificate Courses in Training in Nonviolence; Understanding Religion; Jain Religion & Philosophy; Prakrit; Jain Art and Aesthetics; Human Rights; and Training Programme Preksha Life Skill.

Faculty

Professor B.R. Dugar, Professor Dept of Nonviolence and Peace is the current Vice Chancellor. There are 100+ World Class Elite and Eminent faculties are designated, who have PhDs in various fields and have lived across various countries including the US and Western Europe.

Facilities

In today's competitive environment JVBI provides training for the improvement of communication skills, interpersonal relations, art of negotiation, decision making, development of self-confidence etc. for making the students able to stand in all challenging situations.

Medical Center: An Ayurvedic pharmacy research and dispensary for the free treatment of patients is located at the JVB campus where herbal medicines are also prepared. Following Medical Consultancy Services are available on campus : Ayurvedic, Allopathic, Magnet Therapy and Physio Therapy.

Computer Center: The Institute has three State of Art Computer Laboratories. High-speed internet facility is available through leaseline. Regular students and staff members of the Institute make best use of these facilities to update themselves with the latest developments in their respective fields. All the departments and study centers have been connected through LAN.

Central Library: The JVBI’S Central Library known as "Vardhman Granthagar" has over 70,000 books covering the fields of interest in Indological studies, religion, Indian and Western philosophy, Social Work, etc., and over 6,000 rare manuscripts on Prakrit and Jainology. A large number of journals and periodicals are regularly subscribed. The entire books and reference database in the library is fully computerized and the students can search using the KOHA cloud based software. Internet and Xerox facility is also available in the library for the students.

Hostel: Hostels for both boys and girls are newly constructed 200 bedded available within the campus. Stay in the campus and hostels is very secure and safe. Accommodation is made available to those coming from outside. Accommodation is, however, limited and is provided on a first-cum-first-served basis. Mess facility is also available in the respective hostels. Students, however, manage the mess themselves. Separate rules for both boys & girls have been framed and hostellers have to strictly adhere to it in both letter and spirit.

Scholarship: A good number of merit-cum-need based scholarships are available for deserving students.

Gymnasium: The Institute accords due importance to the placement of its students. The placement cell is working at the Institute to establish network with prospective employers to ensure that the student get placed in good companies, commensurating with a background and experience. The placement record is commendable and hosts of good companies have recruited our students in past.

Adventure Sports: The Institute believes in all-round development of students and encourages them to participate in sports including adventurous sports, indoor and outdoor games and cultural activities etc. The Institute also organizes various community based programmes which provide opportunities to students to learn the techniques of leadership quality, enrich their knowledge and soft skills.

NCC & NSS: To keep pace with the progress of Nation in same spirit JVBI inaugurated NCC wing (Army) 3 Raj Girls Battalion on 26 Nov 2010. The motto of NCC is to develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country. Institute has two units of National Service Scheme (NSS) (100 students each) with motto of 'Not Me But You', reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service.

Meditation and Yoga: The present world which is full of anxieties and stress the need for emotional and mental well-being becomes rather important bearing. Institute has the Centre for Yoga and Meditation for development of balanced personality with necessary equipment.

Restaurant: Institute offers Restaurant facility in its campus. It is the best restaurant available in Ladnun city with breakfast, lunch, dinner, fast food and traditional food facilities.

Guest House: Institute has its own Guest House with matchless lodging and board facilities for Institute's guests.

Yoga and Meditation Center: The center is located in "Tulsi Adhyatma Needam" and offers theoretical and practical training to build spiritual cum scientific personality. There are 60 meditation rooms here.
