Founded in 1948 as Rapid Metal Developments Ltd, as a subsidiary of Robert M Douglas Ltd,[citation needed], the company received the Queens Award to Industry in 1975.[citation needed] R M Douglas was acquired by Interserve in 1991 and after Interserve's acquisition of Kwikform UK operations were transferred to RMD Kwikform in 1999.[citation needed]
In 2010, RMD Kwikform was awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise.[citation needed]
