The Turnaround! Hank Mobley recorded on March 7, 1963 and on February 5, 1965. It was released in 1965 by Blue Note Records .[ 1] Donald Byrd , Herbie Hancock , Butch Warren and Philly Joe Jones from the earlier session and Freddie Hubbard , Barry Harris , Paul Chambers and Billy Higgins from the latter.
It was released in November 2014 in Japan on a limited SHM-CD, featuring the other four pieces recorded in the two sessions (previously available only on the out-of-print Straight No Filter
Reception
The Allmusic review by Thom Jurek awarded the album 4 stars, stating: "In all this is a solid date, despite its time lapse, and one that gives us a solid picture of the two Mobleys."[ 2]
