AAhh ok. Sorry was just trying to help. Only thing I could think of was either "common people" couldn't edit or I marked something that was actually legit.

There was absolutely no reason to delete the Article on John "Skipper" Norris. You claimed that it was "nonsense," but how do you know? I could be John norris, telling the sad tale of my life. (Hint Hint) You're nonsense. You should google me. I'm notable. You, however, are not.

From: thebestbatman[edit]

Who do you think you are? Do you think anyone really cares if you were on some TV nerd program? I can't believe you deleted our contribution? IT clearly stated where the phrase came from and if you like it or not, people do use slang and other stupider people like to look up the meaning and where it came from. Obviously you have no life, but seriously - it wasn't nonsense. Thanks for trying to trash our trend. Oh... and stick that up your monash!

Trigger Happy[edit]

Dear Administrator: I, like you, am an editor; I create articles and make edits. But, many, I am sure many other people out there, are tired, frustrated and angry with the behavior of many Administrators. I am certain that it is appallingly easy to revert and article, that someone has undoubtedly spent allot of time and effort writing. I have, in the past spent hours, researching, planning, writing, checking and revising an addition to an article only to have the whole lot deleted forever three minutes afterwards.

I know that deletion of material is essential in a free-to-edit encyclopedia, but if you see an article that someone has anonymously devoted their time to writing, why could you not revise it, change it or give a reason for you action? They deserve one.

I know all Administrators are not all Drunk-With- Power-Trigger-Happy-Nazis, many of you do an excellent job and you know who you are. The world owes you. I owe You.

In closing: Create, don’t Destroy. Make a distinction between “what is right, and what is easy”. Be enriched, and enrich others with the knowledge of other people.

And keep that finger off the trigger.

Thanks. That was scary: so fast! Do you think he had some kind of new linkspam tool operating? I can imagine google-gamers producing such a gizmo, given how valuable wikipedia links are... — JEREMY 09:54, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, you're right; probably just multiple windows. I had a closer look at the times, and they weren't all that amazing. — JEREMY 10:02, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I'm sorry if I caused any trouble. I didn't mean to. I was just adding some links to a site that has a lot of valuable information about the topics covered on those pages. The writer has spent more than 45 years studying the subject. Am I allowed to add one or two links to this Wiki? I don't know how this place works .. was just trying to add a useful resource 13:23, 13 May 2006 (UTC)Watchmanspost

User page vandalism[edit]

Hi Academic Challenger. I wanted to let you know that I reverted some vandalism on your user page [1] (twice, actually [2]). I wanted to let you know in case the first case I linked was actually a valid attempt to leave you some sort of message. Talk to you later. :o) EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 20:21, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey, I reverted some more vandalism on your user page. [3] Feel free to revert me if you'd like to keep this. I'd personally be tempted to keep it as a tribute to vandal fighting (a barnstar is a barnstar, right?), but I'll leave that up to you. :o) EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 01:31, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Truce Breaking[edit]

As you might recall from a couple weeks ago , we had made a truce It stated "*4. Don't delete Kaleb Marshall's article or the Le Crap article" Yet, when I went to the discussion page for deleting the Le Crap article, I saw this written on it "If Wikipedia existed in the early twentieth century and you posted an article about Picaso before he became famous, or if anyone else did, it should have been deleted because it is impossible tl tell for sure who will be a famous artist or musician. Someone would eventually notice this article, and only good articles should be in Wikipedia. Academic Challenger 21:53, 1 April 2006 (UTC)". Not only did you complain about the LE Crap Article, but it was deleted. Unless you can prove to me that the deleter was not you, I am not doing my share of the truce. 1028 00:48, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi, AC. There's a recent thread about User:1028 on WP:AN under the heading "'Governor' cruft". After taking a look at his talkpage, and then at yours, I thought you might care to share your experiences of this user on AN. He obviously tickles his own sense of humor very much, but, well, to me he doesn't look that hilarious. Block time? Best, Bishonen | talk 05:45, 7 May 2006 (UTC).

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3[edit]

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!
Note from the editor
As always, MiszaBot handled this delivery. Thank you! Also, congratulations go to Pschemp, Titoxd and Freakofnurture for being elected in the last elections! An Esperanzial May to all of the readership!
  1. Posting logs of the Esperanza IRC channel are explicitly banned anywhere. Violation of this rule results in deletion and a ban from the channel.
  2. A disclaimer is going to be added to the Esperanza main page. We are humans and, as such, are imperfect.
  3. Various revisions have been made to the Code of Conduct. Please see them, as the proposal is ready to be ratified by the community and enacted. All members will members to have to re-confirm their membership after accepting the Code of Conduct.
  4. Referendums are to be held on whether terms of AC members should be lengthened and whether we should abolish votes full stop.
  5. Admin Coaching reform is agreed upon.

Hey AC, just wanted to point out that Dolgeville, New York has been fully protected for 11 days. Just because I am not registered doesn't mean you should treat me like a second-class editor on WP:RFP. I requested Dot_Bitch (talk • contribs • deleted contribs • nuke contribs • logs • filter log • block user • block log)'s talk page to be protected because (1) this account is a self-admitted sock puppet of the permabanned Thewolfstar (talk • contribs • deleted contribs • nuke contribs • logs • filter log • block user • block log), and (2) this user is using her talk page to attempt to lawyer her way out of her community-imposed ban, just like she did on the talk page of her original account. California WikiProjects[edit]

As a California Wikipedian, you may be interested in the California WikiProject (and/or one of its 'daughter' Wikiprojects on Southern California, Santa Barbara County, California State Highways and California County Routes). Please take a look at the WikiProject to see if there is anything that interests you. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to contact me. If enough people express an interest, it would also be very easy to create additional daughter WikiProjects, such as a Northern California WikiProject or a California Politics WikiProject.

It has also more than seven months since the 2nd Los Angeles area Wikipedia meetup ([ 26 September]] 2005), so it is time for another one. There have also been California meetups in San Diego (18 October 2005) and a very small one in Santa Barbara (8 April 2006. It's also about time that the Bay Area gets its first Meetup if anyone is willing to organize it. BlankVerse 06:00, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Deletion of John Bradley (mathmetician/teacher)[edit]

My article on John Bradley was not nonsense. Alright, so maaaaaybe it was not all fact, but the majority of it was. What I don't understand is that you just delete articles without thought that maybe, just maybe the only people who would view that page would be people who know him, mainly his students. It was a joke, but I thought he deserved to have his name and story imortalized on wikipedia. It was not like any other person outside of my school would wikisearch John Bradley. Even if anyone did, it would probably as a joke like many people when they are bored search their names. To have a story like that come up would be sweeeeeeet. I just think maybe you should spend less time on the computer, and more time outside in the sunwith friends if you still have any left (not virtual friends btw). In closing, I think you're a little harsh when it comes to instant deletion. I think you are a little power hungry and abuse your power and don't give people the benefit of the doubt. At least send someone a warning before you delete their page and give them a chance to explain. Not like a brand new article on something like John Bradley will destroy the internet. Calm down and let lose. Reach that inner child of yours and have some fun...lighten up paley. - Unsigned

Hernando de Soto disambiguation page...[edit]

I think a disambiguation page for Hernando de Soto is reasonable. I was unable to find the wikipedia page on the (living) de Soto when I searched for it. A disambiguation page would have helped me. My edits to Ready to Die[edit]

I think you mislabeled a legitimate edit as vandalism...I was attempting to remove the censorship in the article; the song 'Fuck Me' by the Notorious B.I.G. was called #$!@ Me or something to that effect. If I recall correctly, there is a Wikipedia policy that states that Wikipedia is not censored. Calling the song '#$!@ Me' is not factually correct, and some users may not recognize the allusion to ####. It could be misconstrued as any other four letter 'curse' word. 04:29, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Congressional Articles for Improvement[edit]

Hi. I noticed that you were a memeber of ProjectCongress and I was wondering if you had an interest in being in being an active member in the improvement drive. It's been dead for a few weeks, but I'm attempting to gather around ten people to help on it. It seems kind of hard to improve an article single handedly but with that many people working on it it should be doable. If it returns there would probably be some structural changes (time period, only one article during it), are you interested? TonyJoe 22:46, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Bihar categories[edit]

Categories with red links does not mean they are non-existent. The red link simply means an introduction to the category was not entered. Category:Bihar is a top level category, if it is added all pages, it will become too full. It is preferable to split it into multiple categories such as Bihar people and Bihar politics. I put added the top level cat to the Bihar people and Bihar politics categories. Let me know if you have any questions. - Ganeshk (talk) 22:17, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

Same with your edit on Tarun Kumar Gogoi. Putting everything under Category:Assam will not be useful. Sub categories really help keep everything sorted properly. Hope you understand. - Ganeshk (talk) 15:30, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
I saw this done in Category: Kerala politics. It would be good to follow the same in other states too. For each state, we should have [[Category: <State Name> politics]]. That category should be sub-categorized under [[Category: <State Name>]] so that red link does not appear. Hope that explains. - 20:57, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
For politicians who are not part of the sub-category, change them to be part of sub-category. It will intially show up as red link, but when you add the parent category to the sub-cat, it will become regular color. As I said before, Don't worry about red links on categories. All that matters if that the category contains pages. - Ganeshk (talk) 20:59, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
BTW, you are welcome to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Politics of India where we are standardizing Indian politics related articles. Kind of what are discussing above. - Ganeshk (talk) 21:01, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

A short Esperanzial update[edit]

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

I agree with you the term finds little usage in context of describing a person, but a very renowned person of Portuguese--Bengali origin Vivian Dirojia of Bengal Movement fame had used this term to describe India-- A beuteous halo surrounded my motherland --- in similar context.I had attempted to describe the section.I think you have done good work in splitting the section but Lalu's supporter sec. either should get merge with other headings or should cease to exist altogether,it fails to justify the content.I would like to have your opinions.Holywarrior 13:13, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Deleted Navy bios[edit]

I must take issue with your summary CSD A8 deletions of articles about Master Chief Petty Officers of the Navy. The reason is, quite simply, that U.S. Navy materials are not copyrighted, as the Navy is an agency of the U.S. Federal Government, which as you know does not retain copyright under U.S. law. Presumtively, the materials came from the Navy itself. I must take issue further with the fact you made no attempt to communicate with the creator of these things, which was an awful WP:BITING. hi I maintain the bryan adams page somewhat, by adding correct information there and watching for spam. i just noticed when going on to foreign wikipedia pages that my password doesn't work. is it necessary to set up a new password and name for every language? many thanks for your help. mich

Deletion summaries[edit]

Your summary in the deletion log here mentions AfD, but does not give any more information. It would be helpful (especially in this case) to be more explicit, such as citing CSD G4 and linking to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rob MacKenna. Thanks, Ardric47 00:22, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Idindji, location: Cairns QLD[edit]
