Hello
Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks for moving Draft:COVID-19 Scams to mainspace - I really wasn't expecting to move that to mainspace so soon, so there might be information in some of the refs that remains unused (as well as others on the internet). I'm currently focused on improving another article but will try to have a closer look later on. Best, Pahunkat (talk) 16:48, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
- Wasn't entirely sure if it was finished, but I saw it on your user page and thought it was finished enough to publish. AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 05:27, 23 June 2021 (UTC) @Pahunkat:
Hi. I have added citation for the information I included on the wiki page 'Kutraleeswaran'. Please help approve the same. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sree.wit.u (talk • contribs)
- @Sree.wit.u: I don't need to approve anything. I just revert bad edits. Also, check out WP:CITE and some other links I added to your talk page and sign your messages by adding ~~~~ to the end of your messages.
Rollback granted
Hi AssumeGoodWraith. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 13:04, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

- Hello. You have repeatedly used your tools to make improper reverts to an article just now, despite edit summaries pointing out your error, such as here. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bridget_Namiotka&diff=1032141615&oldid=1031529165
I do not think you are yet at the point where you should have this tool, as demonstrated by your edits. Pinging User:Malinaccier and User:Mz7 --2603:7000:2143:8500:845E:FC6C:A0EA:F171 (talk) 22:57, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
- @2603:7000:2143:8500:845E:FC6C:A0EA:F171: Repeatedly? I only reverted that once, and checked the citation before doing so. - AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 03:04, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
- You did not check the citation properly then. It is clearly in the citation. The fact that even now you respond as you did above drives home the point that it is too early for you to use tools, but better for you to obtain more experience and judgment in doing so first.
And you and User:ItsSkV08 are indeed, oddly, making the same inappropriate revert, in short order, displaying the same issue in editing. But talk page comments left for you indicate that others have been troubled by the same tendency to make inappropriate reverts. 2603:7000:2143:8500:845E:FC6C:A0EA:F171 (talk) 04:18, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
Pending changes reviewer granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Please read WP:A1. "If any information in the title or on the page, including links, allows an editor, possibly with the aid of a web search, to find further information on the subject in an attempt to expand or edit it, A1 is not appropriate." That article is clearly about a Birmingham school. It is not in any way a good article, but it is not an A1 candidate. Meters (talk) 05:25, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

Hey man, thanks for pointing it out. I added the daughter part since his son goes to my school in sg, and when I searched the school directory, it showed that he had a sister and when talking to him he said that his sister goes to the same school. The names also match up to what the directory said, parents were zhang Yong/Ping shu, the address was also the same. I can provide screenshots of the household directory if you need them. But I'm not sure how to add them to the wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dontaskhowiknow (talk • contribs) 14:19, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Saw your comment on their talk page. Wish I had a good answer for you - if they're being disruptive or are engaged in really obvious gaming behavior (I just saw someone with 500+ tiny edits to their sandbox in a row, that's ECP gaming if I've ever seen it), WP:ANI. If you're pretty confident someone's a sock but aren't sure whose, we don't have a great mechanism; ANI could work, but it might be a gamble. You're welcome to drop a note on my talk page and I can take a look. GeneralNotability (talk) 13:42, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
- @GeneralNotability: What would you think about a special noticeboard for these behaviours? Also, what do you mean by "it might be a gamble"? - AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 05:01, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
- I doubt a special noticeboard would work, we have enough problems with "so-and-so is an obvious sock" without evidence already. And as for it being a gamble, I mean that some administrators might block and others might say that you're not assuming good faith and that someone knowing Wikipedia policies or whatever isn't proof that they're a sock. Proposed deletion of Awsam Wasfy
You nominated Awsam Wasfy for deletion but did not provide a reason. You will need to edit the article and in the second line add the reason you believe the article should be deleted after "concern =". If you do not add the reason, the PROD will be declined. ~ GB fan 13:52, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
I can't believe you tagged this page for deletion because the editor....put his name on his User page! There are long-time editors here who have entire biographies on their User pages. Please use better judgment. You should have posted a welcome notice to a new editor, explaining Wikipedia not immediately tagged his pages for deletion. I removed the inappropriate content from his talk page but his pages didn't need to be deleted. Please use a better filter and not tag marginal cases, just vandals and self-promoters. People are allowed to put content on their main User page. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 06:19, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Liz: Would you think this is U5-able? – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 07:07, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, AssumeGoodWraith. There's bound to be some amount of subjective judgement as to how much personal information is acceptable before a user page qualifies as a G5 candidate, and in my experience Liz tends to put that limit somewhat higher than I do. However, I am confident that she and I will both agree that neither of those user pages comes anywhere remotely near to the limit. Putting one's name plus the word "singer" on one's user page must raise the question of whether the editor intends to use Wikipedia for self-promotion in the future, but it isn't there yet, or even nearly there. At the most, that might be reason for you to watch the editor for possible future misuse, but I myself wouldn't even bother to do that, because in my experience the overwhelming majority of editors who start out with a user page like that never take it any further. The ones to tag are the ones where there's a whole load of stuff about the person's work as a singer, not just a mention of it, especially if it tells us how the singer is "up and coming" and full of talent, etc.
- Incidentally, I really like your username. JBW (talk) 10:19, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- @JBW: I think my own standards for CSD tagging decreases the longer I do it in a single session, now that I think about it. Also, my name's an essay from when I was reading up on Wikipedia policies (WP:AGW) – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 10:49, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- I do allow editors more leeway to have personal information on their primary user page than many other admins. Because if you look at some long-time editors on Wikipedia, they practically have novels about themselves on their User pages. I think we have gotten tougher with new editors and less tolerant. I draw the line when a User page includes links to blogs, social media accounts or websites or looks like a LinkedIn resume but there are times that I just remove this content rather than deleting the entire page. Hello, AssumeGoodWraith,
If you look at the CSD C13 tag on this page, you'll see that you tagged it too soon. The system actually tracks the eligibility of drafts and user pages to the day and minute of their last human edit. An admin still might take action on your tagging though the page is not eligible for C13 deletion until tomorrow but in the future, please check the page history before tagging a draft for speedy deletion for G13 reasons.
One place you can find soon-to-be-eligible drafts is Category:AfC G13 eligible soon submissions although drafts do tend to get tagged by an editor or deleted by an admin as soon as they are eligible. Thanks though for all of your work! Liz Read! Talk! 03:39, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

Why has this user been seeking you out, and how did you stumble across this? -- TNT (talk • she/they) 03:34, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
- @TheresNoTime: They were that guy? Great.
- User:WaterflameIsAwesome was an editor who I personally saw get blocked, due to not being here to build an encyclopedia and disruption. I checked their contributions every so often and it was pretty sad when they were blocked. They made bad unblock requests, ignored advice, and ended up trying to change block messages and getting TPA revoked.
- Then, they made this account, which was blocked shortly after because it was very obvious they were WaterflameIsAwesome.
- 1. I think they're seeking me out because I've interacted with them quite a lot after their block. For example, [1]
- 2. I can't exactly remember where I came from. Maybe from Oshwah's talk page or the teahouse. – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 04:00, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
Don't remove links to the text of cited works
Would you please explain why you think the link you removed here is an "unnecessary/inappropriate external link"? The link is to the text of the work cited. Many thousands of such links occur througthout the encyclopedia. They are entirely appropriate, and extremely helpful for readers and editors to easily access the source cited, and to make it easy to verify that the cited work supports the assertion being made in the article. Please don't remove any more such links. Thanks, Paul August ☎ 15:27, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
Hi AssumeGoodWraith. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. -- TNT (talk • she/her) 04:30, 26 December 2021 (UTC)

Thanks and oops
Thanks for reviewing one article and approving the other.
Also thanks for the tag about one source, I actually am an idiot, because I thought I created it in draft. So I was started that anyone saw it and even more started to realise it's in the main space. I tried to move it and then compounded my error by moving the talk page to the draft article space therefore making it even more difficult to resolve. I've asked for help at WP:TEA, so this isn't me asking you to fix my mess, just thanking you for probably accidentally alerting me to the error. I promise I know better than to launch article with one source. CT55555 (talk) 01:03, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
- @CT55555: I was gonna try to help, but the moves are really confusing. Can you clarify what you did? – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 01:08, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
I:
1 - accidentally created in main (not draft)

Rolan Kiladze
Hi AssumeGoodWraith, I removed your BLPPROD tag on Rolan Kiladze, since he apparently died in 2010. If we take the contents of the article on face value I'd say he is quite plausibly notable – on the other hand I see no straightforward way of testing whether he passes GNG or not since any sources will most likely be offline and written in Georgian. I see that you're an NPR so you must be experienced in dealing with this sort of conundrum, so I will leave the next move up to you . Best, Wham2001 (talk) 08:36, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

For further talk page advice, Go here and turn on discussion tools. It makes replying a lot easier. Additionally, users do not normally get notifications when you send your message unless you ping them (sending a message on someone's talk page automatically gives them a notification). To do so, you can link their user pages. This can be easily done by adding {{ping|username}} to the start of your message.
Keep in kind that there's lots of stuff you can do to help the encyclopedia, apart from content creation.

June Preston wiki page
Hi, I want to start by saying i am no tech savvy in the least and I just didnt know how else to contact you, I dont understand the Talk Page because I can't seem to add to the conversation :(
My name is Sabrina Pires and I'm June Preston's daughter. She was a child start in the 1930's onward and then an Opera singer in the 50's onward and there was a wiki page on her. I feel I have really messed things up but dont know how.
i just wanted to keep my mom's legacy alive through wiki and I thought I did a good job backing up information with proof with photos and newspaper articles from the 30's and 40's.
Now I just found out i have 3 accounts on wiki and have no idea how i did that (brokenmeow is my email address and is an account) Pires is my last name and apparently that's an account but I thought I only had one account. I don't know how to delete the other 2 accounts. I only need one account and feel I did something bad/wrong without knowing.
I'm so sorry... Now my poor mom's page is devoid of all information i worked so hard on. Even her birthdate and birth pace is wrong on there. What can I do to help fix things? I can send you a copy of her birth certificate to prover her dob and place of birth and any type of proof you need to back up all that is said on her page. I can scan and email it to you.
I just want her page back up the way it was, i dont know what i did to have all her info stripped from her page... i'm so sorry can you please help me? I can't tell you how excited she was when she saw her name on the wiki page and not he web in general again, she is 93 now and feels forgotten, this was my way of giving her her legacy back in a small way.
If you would like to speak, i can give you my cell.. or you can email me directly... just please help me get her page to look the way it did before. I'm not sure what to do at this point but I saw you name int he talk page and hope this reaches you and that you can help me. I'm really sorry for all this confusion.
Thanks so much, Sabrina P. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Idoonie (talk • contribs) 21:21, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

Rejected AfC submissions
Hi, Assume. In the course of checking recently created drafts tagged as possible autobiographies or COI, I came across two which you had declined as "contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia". I totally agree with you; in fact I thought one of them was so contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia that I deleted it. However, what I'm not so happy with is just giving "contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia" as the only reason to the creators of the drafts. Most unsuitable drafts are created in good faith by newcomers who sincerely don't know about our policies. Millions of people honestly think that "anyone can edit Wikipedia" means that anyone can edit for any purpose they like, including creating a personal vanity page or advertising their business/club/whatever, and it isn't helpful to them to be told their draft isn't suitable without any indication why. I know that is the way the script for closing AfC submissions works, but it is incumbent on us to do things properly, and if the tools we use don't do everything we ned to do then we have to go beyond what the tools do. Cannabis legalization in California has been for years. I would like you to include the only legal farm/farmer that operates in Ferndale, as it is historical to Ferndale and humboldt. You referenced it as non constructive, however, cannabis legalization is in the front of all conversations. Congress is taking up federal legalization in April, so, Marijuana history related to ferndale and the notable people who did this, is very relevant. 170.203.87.82 (talk) 04:17, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for reviewing my page - can you assist further?
Hello
My first-page attempt bounced back with the reason being 'This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article' and 'This submission appears to read more like an advertisement'.
I've tried to make the language as factual as possible without sounding like I'm trying to sell something, but I'm confused about the subject not qualifying for an article? Wiki already references NH Architecture on other pages (eg: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Margaret_Court_Arena&oldid=1061714187), and we are of a similar status to Lyons (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyons_(architecture_firm) and Snohetta (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sn%C3%B8hetta_(company)).
Please can you let me know what I need to do to meet the criteria for a suitable page?
Thanks :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by NHArch (talk • contribs) 04:07, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- @NHArch: Read the notability and verifiability policies. "This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article" means that it hasn't been demonstrated as notable enough for inclusion yet. – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 05:10, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
Page mover granted
Hello, AssumeGoodWraith. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.
Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect
is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

Zara Rutherford
Hi,
I'm Zara's Dad, and was doing the flight following for Zara on both the flights referenced in the article.
The first, she was directed by ATC to fly the path she flew - if neither the journalist (nor the people complaining) can be bothered to check that, then it's not great.
The second, she asked ATC if she could circle the school - and her request was authorised.
The article mentions the lack of follow up by Taiwanese CAA - this is because they know that there were no violations, thus no follow up.
Thanks, Sam.
PS the article looks like old men being jealous and looking to cause mischief (if I may). A major part of Zara's mission about equal opportunity for women in aviation and STEM. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:A03F:601E:D400:3816:41CF:8C80:437 (talk) 11:31, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
Incorrect closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ian Marsh (writer) (2nd nomination), and possible DRV listing notification
Hello AssumeGoodWraith,
Thank you for taking the time to close Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ian Marsh (writer) (2nd nomination). It appears however to contradict the notability guideline WP:NBIO. Keep voters did not bring any supporting evidence to the table that the article met the GNG nor WP:BASIC (since no reliable sources seem to provide significant, independent coverage of the subject of the article), but did however consider the WP:NCREATIVE#3 to apply. PerWP:NBIO#Special Cases, the result should be to Merge and not to Keep, since WP:NBIO#Special Cases requires that if the subject of an article does not meet basic criteria but meets an SNG, it needs to be merged into the parent article (in this case, White Dwarf). In case no satisfactory action is taken, I plan to take this to WP:DRV. Have a good day! Pilaz (talk) 15:57, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
@Pilaz: I could just revert myself, if that's what you wanted – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 15:58, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- I think reverting and closing as "Merge", with reference to the Special Cases section of WP:BIO, would work. Pilaz (talk) 16:02, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
@Pilaz: I think I'll let another closer review this.
I'm not too sure myself. – AssumeGoodWraith (talk | contribs) 16:08, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- Fair enough, thank you. Pilaz (talk) 16:11, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- Pilaz, I'm afraid you have misconstrued the text of WP:NBIO#Special Cases that you are invoking here, which offers only one approach out of several that policy permits in such cases. The text actually reads,
If neither a satisfying explanation nor appropriate sources can be found for a standalone article, but the person meets one or more of the additional criteria
- the "satisfying explanation" element is inherently subjective, and the whole of this subsection is permissive rather than obligatory. WP:NBIO does not require that a merger take place: the subsection advises the reader about one approach that can be tried, as is perhaps made more clear by examining the surrounding subsections, which are all also permissive. - The "Additional criteria" heading section of NBIO, however, is fairly clear on the range of outcomes available:
People are likely to be notable if they meet any of the following standards. Failure to meet these criteria is not conclusive proof that a subject should not be included; conversely, meeting one or more does not guarantee that a subject should be included.
And the WP:N section on the SNGs is perhaps even more clear about the principles involved, saying thattopics which pass an SNG are presumed to merit an article, though articles which pass an SNG or the GNG may still be deleted or merged into another article, especially if adequate sourcing or significant coverage cannot be found, or if the topic is not suitable for an encyclopedia.
Again, merger (or deletion) is only one option in cases like this one, while retention of articles that fail GNG but pass an SNG is another option. Newimpartial (talk) 17:19, 13 January 2022 (UTC)- @Newimpartial: It's not an argument without merits, and I tend to agree with you on WP:N, but my interpretation is not a "misconstruction. WP:NBIO explicitly prefers merging articles which only meet BIO-SNGs over keeping the articles as is. The subsection, which is appropriately titled
Failing basic criteria but meeting additional criteria
is quite clear: the sentence is imperative, as illustrated by theif
and followed by the verb "merge". It is not only permissible, but explicitly demanded that such action be carried out; to call it solely permissible is reductionist and in my opinion, wrong. With the caveat, of course, of the case-by-case, non-rigidity of the guideline that you rightfully quoted second. But Exceptions to the rule need justification, hence asatisfying explanation
in the section, which as you pointed out is subjective like many other things on Wikipedia and clearly up to the closer and to other editors to judge. It's clear to me that WP:BIO is more strict than WP:N, and you should feel free to discuss a potential WP:POLICYFORK at WP:BIO, but as far as I am concerned the current guidelines recommends merging biographical articles if they fail WP:BASIC but meet any of the bio SNGs. Pilaz (talk) 17:55, 13 January 2022 (UTC)- No; the verb structure is identical to that used, e.g., under "Insufficient sources", and it is quite clear that none of the strategies suggested there are obligatory. The same is true of "Failing basic but meeting additional". Indeed, the heading text of "Additional criteria" - which has undoubtedly seen more scrutiny than the bullets under "Special cases" - would make no sense if a merger were
explicitly demanded
under these circumstances. Also, if your argument here were valid, then every WP:NPROF bio that doesn't meet NBASIC would be eligible for deletion - but there is very extensive AfD evidence that thus is not the wiki way. The status of NPROF and NAUTHOR within NBIO does not, however, differ from each other, while both differ from the weaker presumption found in NATHLETE. Newimpartial (talk) 18:18, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
