Oscar Gobern

Hi, you reverted my edit of the Oscar Gobern claiming I deleted infomation from the page, which if you care to look again...I didn't. I simply moved the infomation about his brother from the intro into a sub section called "Personal Life" as I tidyed the page up into intro, career, personal life, references, external links etc etc. I also updated the fact that his brother Lewis now "last played for Grimsby Town" as he was released yesterday...you reverted that as well. The article is clearly notable, and the controversies referred to are fully referenced. Therefore, your various claims, including that the article contains legal threats and is libellous are completely untrue. Hey, just wanted to let you know that I've declined the PROD at Milan Lalkovič. I think that there are valid questions of notability, and I've got no problems with you wanting to take it to Articles for Deletion if you'd like, but I felt that the substantial amount of coverage, some of it quite recent, available in Gnews suggests that Milan may be notable under the general notability guideline even though he may not meet the special notability requirement for football, and it is sufficient for notability for him to only meet the GNG. The document reader New York's Historic Preservation Office uses requires JavaScript (they began the document-imaging process before Adobe decided to stop enforcing the .PDF patent, I suspect, and didn't have time to change when it did). regarding your doubt, in Portuguese "Fonte" is does not carry and accent. In English, it would be normally read "Fonti", but it's more of a mute sound in Portuguese, more or less like "Font". Hope that helps man!

Regarding the Thiago Motta bit, even though i noticed it was you who made the change after checking edit history, my comment was in no way a "declaration of war", exactly the opposite, it means i do not wish for any edit wars to escalate between me and any well-intended users (such as yourself). I know most of that team's player's infoboxes read "INTERNAZIONALE" (not that i have edited much there, just judging from previous WP:FOOTY discussions), it's just i thought "INTER" sufficed 100% well. We would have "INTER" for Italian team, "INTERNACIONAL" forthe Brazilian side...

Hi - I am currently trying to put together an article on R.S.F. Walker, who played football for Scotland in the pseudo-internationals of 1870-72. The inscription on his statue (see[1]) says that he was selected for Scotland v England at Rugby in 1873. Can you shed any light on this? Unlike the inscription on the statue which seems to infer that Robert Sandilands Frowd Walker played for Scotland at rugby, according to PDF he was born in Great Boughton, Cheshire and played for England at both association and rugby football. However, the only Walker playing for England rugby at this time appears to be Roger Walker who played 5-matches between 1874 and 1880, it appears the first Walkers to play for Scotland came later, and were the brothers Archibald Walker in 1881, and James Walker in 1882. According to ESPNScrum, Roger Walker was born inBury which although not a million miles from Great Broughton (about 50-miles in truth), it's not exactly close. The birth place of Great Broughton on 13 May 1850 appears to be confirmed here, if he did reside at Scotts Lodge, Knockholt, Sevenoaks, Kent, in his latter years, his place of death may beduring April→June of 1917 in Bromley District. I wonder whether the confusing inscription of "He played for England vs Scotland at association football", and "and was selected for Scotland vs England at rugby football", means that he was selected not for Scotland, but for the Scotland vs England match, which would infer that Scotland were at home. Alfred Tinnebaum

Hi-you look at the article about Alfred Tinnenbaum last October. He was supposed to be a honorary governor of Iowa Territory. I look at some of the citations and there was no mention of Alfred Tinnebaum. I suspect this is a hoax. I did a Google search and this individual did not turn up. Something tells me this is a college students prank. I do not think the US Government would this individual a honorary governor of a US territory in the process of being admitted to the Union. 1878 FA Cup Final

Warsop's view is based on contemporary newspaper reports from "The Field", "The Sportsman", "The Sporting Life" and "Bell's Life in London". For the Engineers' goal, all four papers' reports state that Morris took a throw-in, following which there was a scrimmage and the ball was forced through the posts. If Gibbons is sure that Morris scored the goal, one has to wonder exactly where he got that info from if all the main papers of the say say otherwise, but if you could provide the full citation I will mention it in the article. The reports are less clear-cut with regard to Wanderers' second goal - The Field says "a free kick soon fell to Kinnaird and, after a short scrimmage, a second goal was secured" which would mean that Kinnaird did not score it. The Sportsman, though, says "after a free kick by Kinnaird the ball was a second time driven between the Engineers' posts", which could be interpreted either way - I'll mention that the reports are unclear. As for the substance: Almost all of that article is in ODNB, as indicated (most of it is in the more accessible DNB, supplement for 1900-1910). This could be more clearly indicated, but it is a reference to an eminently reliable source.
