"U.S. presidential elections"
[edit]Hi, As I see there are several editors who work on the articles about "the U.S. presidential elections". I wanted to join but I couldn't find any wikiproject or task force relates to this issue. I propose making at least a task force in Wikipedia:WikiProject United States. Ron Paul
[edit]Would you mind leaving a comment on the main Ron Paul talk page, I am tryinmg to merge the criticism into the RP 2008 page. best,--Duchamps_comb MFA 01:04, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Think maybe you have some spare cycles to look at this page? Couple things:
- There may actually be more RP skeptics than supporters editing it now
- We're editing it pretty aggressively to cut down on redundancy and size. For instance, by the end of the week, I'm going to try to get the "debates" section down to 3 grafs, plus a subsection on the SC debate with Rudy.
- We're talking about merging stuff around into the "splinter" articles (for instance, moving Moneybomb coverage into Moneybomb
I'm pretty strongly anti-Paul, and I feel better about my edits when I know the opposing argument isn't giving me an inch, if that makes sense. =)
Lots of stuff on Talk:Ron Paul presidential campaign, 2008

AfD G. Edward Griffin
[edit]An editor has nominated G. Edward Griffin, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/G. Edward Griffin (3rd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:00, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Liberty Committee, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 09:59, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Legislation sponsored by Ron Paul
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Legislation sponsored by Ron Paul, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Legislation sponsored by Ron Paul. - DiligentTerrier (and friends) 21:54, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Christine Smith (activist)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Christine Smith (activist), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Burzmali (talk) 20:10, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of "FaRO"

No content in Category:Wikipedia enforcement policies
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Wikipedia enforcement policies, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Wikipedia enforcement policies has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Wikipedia enforcement policies, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Ron Paul has been nominated for a featured article review. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets the featured quality. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Reviewers' concerns are here. --Andrew Kelly (talk) 05:13, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
I have read your comment. Before posting a reply, however, I think that it's important to sort out how to organize the discussion. In my view, every comment on the post that initiates the discussion (i.e. my post in this case), should be moved to a new subsection, or appended to an existing subsection, and I hope that you agree. As for the substance of the discussion, I really think we should try to keep the matter as simple as possible.
I agree with you on many issues you raised, but this discussion will lead nowhere if we start it 5 steps ahead of where the established policy is. From a standpoint of logic, the issue I raised is way down in the chain of cumulative inconsistencies that are, in praxi, often harmless. I therefore will stick to my model in which each statement contains only one claim, even if this is technically wrong (If absolutely necessary, i will distinguish between main claims and additional claims.)
I also think that a discussion on the talk page, for technical reasons, cannot be a scientific discussion in a strict sense, as you cannot put a working paper on the talk page. I therefore will focus, for now, on solving the practical issues at hand. We can continue to discuss details here, or on my talk page, if you like. I'll set up a discussion section there. --Cs32en (talk) 00:48, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:HR 1207 TEA advocacy sign.JPG)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:HR 1207 TEA advocacy sign.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 21:50, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Mediation at Longevity myths
[edit]Hello John, I just wanted you to know that I've taken the mediation case requested here, and I'm offering my help as a mediator to help resolve issues at the article, specifically whether or not the "myth" classification applies to content in the article. As a mediator, I don't intend to make a decision myself, nor is it my desire to give personal opinions on who is right or wrong, but I'd like to help the two of you come to a mutually-accepted compromise. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 333 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

The article Juan Cárdenas has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unremarkable artist (fails WP:NOTABILITY).
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 23:08, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Completely new abortion proposal and mediation
[edit]In light of the seemingly endless disputes over their respective titles, a neutral mediator has crafted a proposal to rename the two major abortion articles (pro-life/anti-abortion movement, and pro-choice/abortion rights movement) to completely new names. The idea, which is located here, is currently open for opinions. As you have been a contributor in the past to at least one of the articles, your thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.
The hope is that, if a consensus can be reached on the article titles, the energy that has been spent debating the titles of the articles here and here can be better spent giving both articles some much needed improvement to their content. Please take some time to read the proposal and weigh in on the matter. Even if your opinion is simple indifference, that opinion would be valuable to have posted.
To avoid concerns that this notice might violate WP:CANVASS, this posting is being made to every non-anon editor who has edited either page (or either page's respective talk page) since 1 July 2010, irrespective of possible previous participation at the mediation page. Question asking if you'd accept an alternative outcome. I suspect you might based on your commentary. Hasteur (talk) 15:27, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Puritan Sabbatarianism
[edit]On 1 June 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Puritan Sabbatarianism, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Reformed theologian G. I. Williamson, in the tradition of Puritan Sabbatarianism, says viewing television, newspapers or magazines is improper for Sunday Sabbath? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Puritan Sabbatarianism.You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Followup RFC to WP:RFC/AAT now in community feedback phase
[edit]Hello. As a participant in Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Abortion article titles, you may wish to register an opinion on its followup RFC, Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Abortion advocacy movement coverage, which is now in its community feedback phase. Please note that WP:RFC/AAMC is not simply a repeat of WP:RFC/AAT, and is attempting to achieve better results by asking a more narrowly-focused, policy-based question of the community. Assumptions based on the previous RFC should be discarded before participation, particularly the assumption that Wikipedia has or inherently needs to have articles covering generalized perspective on each side of abortion advocacy, and that what we are trying to do is come up with labels for that. Thanks! —chaos5023 20:29, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Adamah
[edit]A tag has been placed on Adamah, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Claritas § 21:29, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
