Request for peer review help
Hi. I currently have the article Insane Clown Posse up for peer review, and I was wondering if you would be interested in taking a look at it and offering some advice to get the article up to FA quality? (Ibaranoff24 (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 14:35, 9 June 2008 (UTC))
- Reviewed. --Kakofonous (talk) 19:22, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- The comment "The lead lacks a good overview" is not very clear. Could you list the topics that should be discussed in the lead that are not already included? (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 04:06, 11 June 2008 (UTC))
- I finished cleaning up the article. You may want to take a look over the article and tell me what further changes need to be made. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 20:58, 12 June 2008 (UTC))
- Hi. I've noticed that you have not made any comments on the article since I last worked on it. Should this be taken to mean that your peer review of the article is completed and that there is no further work that needs to be done on the article? (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 21:16, 14 June 2008 (UTC))
- Responded at the PR. --Kakofonous (talk) 21:38, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Meshuggah
Thank you very much for the copyediting fixes in Meshuggah. Did you have a look also on the style section?-- LYKANTROP 20:54, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- The edit I made earlier was just a skim for formatting errors and other major things; I did a more in-depth copy edit of "Style" just now. More work is needed on the article's prose, however, but I won't be able to do much for about a day or so. --Kakofonous (talk) 01:51, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- Very well. Thanks for that. If you can improve the prose, I'll be glad...And it will have a GA review soon, so you can already make some suggestions... :) -- LYKANTROP 15:42, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Jeff Buckley GA review
Thanks for the work you did on the article. Thats exactly the kind of thing i'm not good at. Cheers. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 04:11, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- No problem :). --Kakofonous (talk) 10:37, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

As if I didn't already know you stalk my contribs ;-) giggy (:O) 10:39, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- Ha, I think he was stalking me, actually. In fact, his first edit to the article was before yours. Anyways, I dropped in here to see whether you'd consider reviewing the article at peer review, Kakofonous. Thanks in advance. Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 19:26, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I just watch Giggy's talk page and saw the link there—you're both WRONG! Muhahaha, and all that jazz. Anyway, I'll take a look sometime soon, Nousernamesleft. (That username is such that I can't really think of a shortened form to use as a sort of nickname, like people call me "K" or "Kako" or something like that, so don't think I'm being formal. Didn't want to call you "No" or "Username"; that'd just sound stupid. Maybe NUNL? Food for thought, anyway. :)) --Kakofonous (talk) 20:26, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, User:NUL redirects to my user page (hm, I wonder who did that?), but I actually hate that acronym. Hah, you'll just have to type it out in full every time. There's some history behind my username, actually - I was trying to register in December of two years ago, but all the usernames I tried were already taken. In frustration, I tried this one, expecting it would also already be taken, but I was pleasantly surprised. Oh yeah, and thanks for the review–I appreciate it. <- gasp, an unspaced en dash for conjunction! Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 23:10, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

(and for the passing stranger reading this, this isn't canvassing! They already know about the article, and I'm not trying to influence them either way. And I would, um, try to convince them to oppose if anything. Yeah.) Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 02:00, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

- Ah, but that's Commons, and Commons is too mellow to count! About the main page thing, pah, you should write more about topics that no one else likes to write about to get work onto the main page. Writing about music and video games will get you nowhere. Writing about math, on the other hand, might get you somewhere. Just last night as i was contemplating suicide i saw the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare article and thought wait there's more to life than real life! I can be a wikipedia gamer!(!!) I read about the proposed idea to include airstrikes in the game that was removed early in development and shed a tear. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 11:28, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

- "I mean, what kind of weirdo writes a featured article about some obscure geometer from the nineteenth century, for instance?" - There was a joke there, but I'm too nice a person to tell it. ;-) giggy (:O) 23:54, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- I created the week old section above this so it's technically talk page residency rather than stalking. GA review is still going nowhere so thought my snide comments would be the best use of the time. Will she allow tracing back to the original sources. Who knows?! Not me. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 18:41, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- Giggy: Trust me, that joke was intentional. No one is that ironic on purpose. Sillyfolkboy, GA reviews take... forever. One of mine took almost two months to get reviewed - that's the main reason I quit GA and decided to start taking articles directly to FAC. Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 18:06, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey therez one link in this article No. 113. The wiki article's reference is in the second page of the link whereas the first page is linked ( I hope you are getting me)... here is the link... Tom Ze cite
Howdy. I was wondering why in this edit you deleted the whole citation, instead of just unlinking it (removing the http-url)? (Although I haven't read the paper, and the abstract doesn't make it sound enticing...) Is the dead-tree edition not still a valid "Further reading" or "Reference" pointer? I'm probably missing something obvious! Thanks :) -- Quiddity (talk) 00:12, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
- That was a rather clueless edit on my part—not sure exactly why I did it. It is most definitely still valid, but I guess that didn't occur to me. Leaving it there is the best thing to do; I'm glad someone who didn't have a brain lapse put it back in. Sorry for the mistake. --Kakofonous (talk) 00:16, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

When are you going to renominate Gilberto Gil at FAC? I think I copyedited it some two months ago - if you don't be careful, I might take Yomangan's advice. ;) Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 00:43, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I still haven't resolved Jbmurray (talk · contribs)'s concerns (see Talk:Gilberto Gil) about coverage and comprehensiveness and all that jazz…should probably work on that. Acer (talk · contribs), who was going to give me some info from Portuguese-language sources, seems to have gone on wikibreak, so I'm not really sure how to proceed on that front. I'll keep you posted (actually, if you're stalking my talkpage, and possibly my contribs as well, you rogue, I might not even have to keep you posted, you'll just know), so anyway… --Kakofonous (talk) 03:40, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi I saw you edit it, were you planning on doing a lot of work? I was about to dig into a lot of site formatting (like I had just finished on the MJ article), however if you want to work on it Ill leave you to it? — Realist2 (Who's Bad?) 01:56, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- Nope, just adding some relevant links. That's all I was planning to do; you might want to check that there aren't other articles to link to in that section that haven't been already as part of your cleanup run. --Kakofonous (talk) 01:59, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I am working on a series of lists about the Billboard Top Latin Albums and i've submit a list for the Number-one latin albums of 1993 (U.S.) and in the peer review the told to me to seek for help regarding the lead section. Could you help me with this?. Thank you so much. I'm just learning how to make a great list to write the rest of them (1994-2008).

I have lately worked on Control (2007 film) to upgrade it to a "Good Article", can you take a look and see if there are any parts still need revision/improvement before being nominated. Thanks! Gilberto Gil
I'm under lots of pressure to review nominations alone, and find it hard to keep up. If you're unsure about the prose, best to ask someone else.
- "left-wing President"—will anyone see that as a bit POV? It's a rather blanket epithet. What does it mean nowadays, anyway?
- "eventually beginning to write"—first two words tugging at each other.
- Are you sure the decade link is useful to the reader? (I haven't looked at it.)
- "the two of them spent time in jail"—"jailed them for ?three years before forcing them out of ..."
- Is Bahia in Brazil? They shouldn't have to hit the link to find out.
- "working as an advocate for environmental issues and in politics"—"working as an environmetal advocate and in politics" or "working as an environmetal and political advocate".
That's the lead. I think you need to bring in fresh eyes to go through the whole article. It's not in bad shape, but needs cleaning up. Tony (talk) 12:24, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for this. --Kakofonous (talk) 13:51, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Michael Jackson peer review
I noticed your were listed as a volunteer for per reviews. MJ is currently on PR and I would appreciate any advise you give. I plan to take it to FA soon. Also Thriller is at FA review, fingers crossed. — Realist2 (Who's Bad?) 23:45, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, I see your back :-) MJ is now at FA, I know you have done some work on it before so thought you might want to take a look, possibly help clean up some MoS issues. The use of numbers really needs better consistency between being written out or not. Well, if you can spare any time helping drag this article through FA it would be appreciated. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible system) - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 22:55, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Dillagence
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Dillagence, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Jena Six GAN
I've nominated Jena Six as a good article, gonna see where it goes. I don't think it is at FA standard yet, it needs a lot of updating, but I think we can have it as an FA by the end of the year. Hope you're willing to help out. Enjoy your break.--Wehwalt (talk) 22:32, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

More help, please!
Thank you so much for your help on my list for the Number-one Latin albums of 1993. I recently did the list for the Number-one Latin Albums of 1999 (U.S.) and on the peer review they asked me to search for help about the lead section (just like before, on the list of 1993). Can you help me with that?.
Once again.. thanks. Jaespinoza (talk) 18:18, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'll try to take a look soon. --Kakofonous (talk) 00:54, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
FA-Team mission
I see you speak some French! There is a proposed FA-Team mission on Félix Houphouët-Boigny that could really use you! Let us know if you can help out! Awadewit (talk) 14:31, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- I probably will not be able to help with this as I am leaving Internet access for a while, but will try to assist when I return. --Kakofonous (talk) 21:18, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Jena Six
Hey, I know it has been a while since you've done much with Jena Six. I've kept it updated, and worked on it, and I've gotten it promoted to GA. I'd like to see this become a FA, so when you are back from your break, I was wondering if you would colloborate with me on it. I'm the only active editor left, and doing it by myself would be difficult.--Wehwalt (talk) 23:45, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- I'd love to help, though I'm not sure what I'd be able to do. I'm not especially knowledgeable about the case; all I did for the article a while back was format the citations, some MOS work, and a bit of copy editing. However, I don't think I'd be very helpful in terms of content. Please give me some suggestions/instructions on how I can work productively towards its FA status. --Kakofonous (talk) 12:38, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
- I took a look, and it seems to me that copyediting is far from done - I can spot prose problems in pretty much every paragraph. There's plenty to do. Nousernamesleft (talk) 18:20, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
- I think prose and organization are the big problems. I think the refs are there. I think the partisans have moved on, so that won't be an issue. I hope you both could help out on this.--Wehwalt (talk) 11:59, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- I've done some work on the article, implementing the recommendations of the GA and have asked for a peer review. I'd be grateful for a good copyedit. I tend to fall in love with my own prose and fail to see the mistakes therein.--Wehwalt (talk) 20:47, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I would, but I'm rather busy. Plus, I've never had the patience to copyedit through a whole article of that length; I would quickly tire of it and go wander off to read a random article or something similar. Nousernamesleft (talk) 23:35, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- I'm also sorry for neglecting my duties; I'm off for the weekend, but when I get back I will attempt to due an article-wide copy edit and formatting sweep. --Kakofonous (talk) 09:14, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've cut the article back almost ten percent by deleting matters which have kinda died on the vine.--Wehwalt (talk) 09:29, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Your old buddy from Jazz drumming
Hey there, do you remember me?
I helped you with a peer review of Jazz drumming. I saw your signature at the peer review volunteers page. Could you do a peer edit on Ximena Sariñana? She's a jazz/alternative/pop/rock Latina singer, so you may or may not know of her. You can view the peer review request at Wikipedia:Peer review/Ximena Sariñana/archive1. Thanks! – Obento Musubi (C • G • S) 07:24, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Ping?
Hey, is there any particular reason why you've been inactive recently? (And will Gilberto Gil ever get back to FAC?) Jena Six is a FA now, by the way. Nousernamesleft (talk) 22:40, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
No Jacket Required
Hello there! I've never really nominated an article for Peer Review before, so bear with me. I have just recently nominated the article, No Jacket Required for Peer Review. I was a major force in turning it into the bare bones article it once was, to the Good Article that it is at the time of this message. I would love to improve it and make it a Featured Article, but I stink at these kinds of things, and usually go in a totally wrong direction! I looked at the Peer Review volunteer's page, and thought that you'd be a great person to look the article over, and see if any improvements are necessary. The link to the peer review is here. I would appreciate any sort of input, but if you are too busy, I certainly understand. Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you at the peer review! CarpetCrawler (talk) 01:24, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Peer Review Request
Hey there, I don't know if you remember me. I reviewed Jazz drumming for you a while back. Could you do me a favor, please? I put up Mediocre (album) to be peer reviewed, and I thought you might want to. If you're interested, you can leave a message at my talk page and review whenever you want. Thanks! – Obento Musubi (C • G • S) 09:37, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi!
Hi, I recently saw your user name in thr list of Peer review/volunteers, and was wondering if you could, please review this article about a Spanish power metal band, where I've been working for a long time. Remember, you don't need to help me if you don't feel like it, this is an invitation thaat I hope you'd find interesting. Thanks! Rockk3r Spit it Out! 21:58, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Peer review request
Hello, Kakofonous. I am currently working on two pages that I hope can reach FAC or FLC status, and I was wondering if you might have a few minutes to offer a peer review. I'd apprectiate your time and advice, and I see you have an interest in music. I am not sure if you are familiar with Rufus Wainwright or not, but if you are interested I'd be happy to hear any advice or feedback you may have. I am currently working on Rufus Wainwright discography and List of awards and nominations received by Rufus Wainwright. Thanks so much! Whataworld06 (talk) 21:01, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:HotSex.ogg)
Thanks for uploading Image:HotSex.ogg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks and a request
Thanks for signing up at Wikipedia:Peer review/volunteers and for your work doing reviews. It is now just over a year since the last peer review was archived with no repsonse after 14 (or more) days, something we all can be proud of. There is a new Peer review user box to track the backlog (peer reviews at least 4 days old with no substantial response), which can be found here. To include it on your user or talk page, please add {{Wikipedia:Peer review/PRbox}} . Thanks again, and keep up the good work, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:02, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Can you please help?
Hello Kakofonous,
Can you please help me with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MC_Funky_J ?
I started the page and after all the hard work somebody is trying to tear it down. I seen that you are a Hip Hop fan as well and hope you will be able to assist in this matter.
Thanks,

A-class review request
Hey Kakofonous, I was wondering if you could review the Spokane, Washington article in an ACR. After you read the article, I believe all you need to do is apply the A-Class criteria to the article and put whether you believe it is worthy of being A-class in the section dealing with the review in the articles Talk page. Also, in addition to doing the assessment, it would be helpful if you could include some points for improvement. If you are up to review it, notify me on my Talk. Thanks! GA Sweeps invitation
Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.
We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing!
