Orphaned non-free media (Image:Conniesmall.jpg)[edit]

Nuvola apps important blue.svg Thanks for uploading Image:Conniesmall.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:43, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Vicious circle.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Vicious circle.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 22:24, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Trishelle[edit]

Stating that she will SOON be starting a singing carrer, with NO valid citation, is pure speculation. And will be reverted.Aladdin Zane 01:44, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

The problem is. It does not belong without a citation. Otherwise anything could be added. I could add she is an aspiring airline pilot, or aspiring astronaut. Which is why Wiki requires valid citations.Aladdin Zane 01:49, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
I understand what you are saying. My Point is, Is it does not belong, even with the tag behind it. Otherwise I could add the things i said and put a tag behind them. I wasn't removing the tag. i was removing the statement, which goes against wiki being a crystal ball. Bottom line the statement isn't true and doesn't belong.Aladdin Zane 01:56, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Formatting References[edit]

Hola!

Learning to format your references, add author if available, title, original source, date, publication, hosting site if applicable, etc.

Please read:

Wikipedia:Citing sources and also Wikipedia:Citing sources/example style

Tom Hanks[edit]

In the TH article, you did a "ref name=BBC". Problem is, they were to TWO different articles:

I usually name the REF by the date also: "ref name=BBC-2005-08-25"; and if there is an author for the article/page, I use that first, either last name, or last name two initials, or even all just initials.

Take better care in formatting references... + IP4240207xx 18:33, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Jennafischer.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jennafischer.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:12, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Cloud Image[edit]

Well, I took the image right from your user page, where I arrived when looking for the contributors to the 'Numonyx' article. I liked the image and the table...so I took them :) --Bergonzc 12:39, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Well, that explains it. :P -Mike Payne (T • C) 16:52, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Stop hand nuvola.svg

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Andie Valentino, you will be blocked from editing. Jab843 (talk) 18:31, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

On my records for the lupin filter change. I have you removing her birthname. " birthname = + birthnam " now that I have checked you have indeed not vandalized however it is on part of the script. I have reverted my edits. Ignore the said warning.--Jab843 (talk) 18:42, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

SCOTUS[edit]

"I never heard of that" is not a particularly good reason to delete information from Wikipedia; on the other hand, "everyone knows that" is also not a good reason to put information in. The proper standard is whether the information is verifiable in reliable third-party sources. In this case, the use of the acronym is easily verified in outside sources, and I have included a reference to that effect. Thank you for pointing out the need for verification. --Russ (talk) 14:06, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: Daft Punk / copyvio ref[edit]

The copyvio ref was the only source used for the section. The ref cannot be used, so I removed the section along with it. There are also other problems associated with the ref and listing, which are discussed and can be elaborated upon in Talk:Daft Punk. Just64helpin (talk) 04:09, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

About the sandbox being reset[edit]

I also noticed the sandbox being reset too frequently and have left a message on the talk page of the bot's owner. If you are referring to this edit:[1] this was probably reverted because the comment ("Hello, feel free to try your formatting" etc.) was removed. Apparently it's this comment, as well as the first line, that must stay. --Snigbrook (talk) 14:24, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

WOWwiki[edit]

There's a reply for you on my talk page, ideally I'd like the EL removed (but don't want to do it myself 'cause of the 3RR and whatnot). Right now it's the only wiki with it's own EL, and that's problematic. Plus, it's a deliberate choice not to link to external wikis. The 'has its own wiki page' criteria is deliberate to prevent spamming, linkcruft, redlinks and other sources.

That particular wiki also keeps getting added. It would be fine if someone created the article and ensured it passed WP:WEB, as is it keeps getting plugged in as an EL. WLU (talk) 19:50, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the revert, much appreciated. Do us a bigger favour and create the damn page so I don't have to keep removing it :) WLU (talk) 20:06, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Andie[edit]

Infoboxes at top[edit]

Where in the Manual of Style does it state that Infoboxes should appear below full-width horizontal templates? Well, if you look at the Manual of Style pages, that's exactly how it's done! The {{style}} infobox appears below the {{style-guideline}} message box. The fact that you're changing a number of pages from that generally accpeted style, to your preferred style, should also be a hint that there is an established pattern. If you want to go change the entire encyclopedia to what you think looks better, well, you'll have to update everything from Windows 7 to New York Giants to, umm Wikipedia, Google, and the many, many, many other articles where infoboxes appear below other templates. Good luck with that. Update as many pages as you want, but people will change it back eventually... -/- Warren 04:51, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
