Undisclosed paid editing warning

Information icon

Hello Princess of Ara. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Uzor Arukwe, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Princess of Ara. The template Paid can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: . If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Celestina007 (talk) 13:32, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits Celestina007. I knew you were going to show up as always. Princess of Ara(talk) 13:42, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
Hello there, I’m not sure I understand what you mean but I have Hatchens on my watchlist because they do a spectacular job, so when I discovered they rejected an article at AFC, I decided to take a look and was dazed that it was the same draft article I declined on the 9th of June and told you categorically that aggressive resubmissions are not a brilliant idea. This is very typical of COI editing, hence the warning. Wikipedia has no deadline so i really do wonder what the haste is. Celestina007 (talk) 14:00, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
Furthermore I noticed your snarky remarks at the edit summary, the use of the internet slang ”LOL” to be precise as though I am joking or playing around, I’m not, Stop this sort of behavior. Celestina007 (talk) 14:09, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Uzor Arukwe (June 13)

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Hatchens was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia.
Hatchens (talk) 12:11, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
Thank you Hatchens for reviewing the draft. Did you by any chance look through the draft's talk page? I mentioned that he meets at least #1 of the SNG for actors having had significant (named) roles in multiple notable movies except you’re saying the GNG is a must. Thanks Princess of Ara(talk) 12:21, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
@Hatchens, you did a good job. The article was declined by me barely 48 hours ago and I’m not sure why they are in a haste to binge resubmit the article, I have added the article to my watchlist indefinitely. Celestina007 (talk) 13:28, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
Celestina007, thank you for your kind words and support. The draft has been put in to my watchlist too. I haven't nominated it for CSD G11 yet, but if it's required I will not hesitate. Your opinion is must if I put any such tag on it. - Hatchens (talk) 01:14, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 14

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mushin. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your signature

Please be aware that your signature uses deprecated <font> tags, which are causing Obsolete HTML tags lint errors. As explained at WP:SIGFONT:

<font>...</font> tags were deprecated in HTML4 and are entirely obsolete in HTML5. This means that the popular browsers may drop support for them at some point. Wikipedia is already preparing for this by delinting code project-wide through Linter. When support finally is dropped, the tags will be ignored in all signatures; any properties such as color and font family will revert to their default values. For this reason, it is recommended that you use <span>...</span> tags and CSS properties instead.

I have prepared a replacement signature string for you. You are encouraged to change

Women in Red

Hi there, Princess of Ara, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to have another member keen to increase the coverage of women from Nigeria. I see you have already created a number of interesting biographies of women and hope there will be many more. If you have not already done so, you might like to look through our Primer for creating women's biographies. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 08:45, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

Topic ban Erica Nlewedim

Hey, Princess of Ara. I need to formally notify you of a topic ban on the subject of Erica Nlewedim, broadly construed. I also want to make sure you understand what that entails so you won't inadvertently get yourself in trouble. Basically you should stay away from any article that is related to her and any discussions that involve her. Obviously you shouldn't try to recreate the article about her, but a topic ban also means you shouldn't be discussing her anywhere, even on your own user talk. There's information at WP:TBAN. If you have any questions, just ping me. —valereee (talk) 12:07, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

valereee just so we're clear, I've been curating List of Nigerian films of 2021 where one of the films she acted in is listed. Can I still update the list? Princess of Ara(talk) 13:39, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
You can update the list, but not any entries for films she appeared in, current or future. Those entries will need to be updated/added by someone else. You also can't ask anyone else to make those updates, on or off wiki, as that would be wp:proxying and both you and they would be in violation of your t-ban. —valereee (talk) 13:50, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
  • Princess of Ara, I've unclosed the discussion, as there's a question as to whether the close allowed for adequate consensus to develop. This means you are free to edit in the area of Erica Nlewedim. Sorry that this prolongs the question for you! —valereee (talk) 13:15, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
Thank you valereee, to be clear, am I allowed to declare a COI pending the outcome, edit and resubmit the draft without issue? Princess of Ara(talk) 13:30, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
That is not prohibited, no. Although as I believe the article is salted, I'm not sure you're actually able to do that. —valereee (talk) 13:36, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
I know that. I've never attempted to push the article to main space. I'm asking to submit at AfC as I've always done all other BLPs. Princess of Ara(talk) 13:41, 25 June 2021 (UTC)

ANI close: topic ban

I have closed the ANI discussion concerning you as consensus in favor of a community-imposed indefinite topic ban from Erica Nlewedim, broadly construed. As this ban was placed by a community consensus, it can only be appealed to the Wikipedia community at WP:AN; you can appeal the ban by opening a request there. signed, Rosguill talk 21:09, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

Abeni

Thank you thank you thank you for these edits on Abeni (film). My search results are always lacking when it comes to African films. Do you have any recommendations of resources to look at when trying to bolster film articles like this? BOVINEBOY2008 22:58, 11 July 2021 (UTC)

Hey Bovineboy2008, I had actually come across some of the resources while working on O Le Ku so I knew where to find them. Asides that, I usually optimise my search by adding the name of the director or a prominent actor in the film to get more relevant results. For instance, "Abeni Tunde Kelani". I usually do the search in google news, google books and then google scholar. Thank you! Princess of Ara(talk) 18:07, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
I usually try to do this, I might just need to try a few more arrangements. Cheers! BOVINEBOY2008 18:09, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

Wizimatic, I see that Bonadea has reviewed the draft and made some comments. Kindly note the comments. You still haven't provided reliable sources and the tone of the draft is promotional. They also raised some concerns about previous history of undisclosed paid editing. You'll have to declare if you are close to the subject or being paid by the subject. There should be no external links in the body of your draft see WP:EXT. Lastly, kindly use 4 tildes, i.e 4 of these (~) when writing on talk pages so people can reply to you easily. Cheers. For Article "Sellbeta Shopping"

I really took time to put this article contents together to meet up with the wikipedia criteria and then i meet the criteria but seeing your deletion reasoning doesn’t seem helpful for this article because the brand in question is already more than 1 year and functioning well, so I plead you check again and reconsider because it pass the notability criteria. Thanks

Hello @CeoChibuzor, unfortunately, the reason the article was nominated for deletion is because the subject does not satisfy WP:NCORP which is the notability criterion for companies. If you think otherwise, you can go here and vote to keep the article. Also, it appears that you may be one and the same as the CEO of the company or closely related to them. Kindly see WP:COIDISCLOSE and WP:PAID in order to disclose whichever applies. Lastly, kindly sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) so that people can respond to your messages easily. Kind regards. Princess of Ara 20:26, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
CeoChibuzor is just a nickname not that I'm related to the article. CeoChibuzor (talk) 06:57, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
According to my sources a lot of newspapers website have written something about the company to I suggest it stay on Wikipedia and not deleted please do consider CeoChibuzor (talk) 07:03, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
It's quite the coincidence that the Sellbeta CEO is also named "Emeafu Elvis Chibuzor". That aside, Did you read WP:NCORP? It says a company is considered notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. All your "sources" have written what the CEO had to say about the company and are therefore not independent. Do you get my drift? Princess of Ara 07:31, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

Articulating proposed basis of inclusion

Salutations P of A,

Truthfully had doubts about notability requirements (because well, it's tricky/very debatable) so I think I understand the logic behind rejection and appreciate the interaction, it could present (me) a chance to be(come) better at contributing.

A weak argument for the submission would engage in 'whataboutism', pointing to other content that isn't as objectively notable but still included; but I appreciate that not every moderately notable individual warrants a wiki, so I cannot indulge in that ...

(without any intent to be antagonistic or argumentative) to what extent should it count that subject has been tipped for inclusion to Nigeria's Supreme Court? and is mentioned, red-linked, in other articles on here?

Surely if a similar situation occurred with an American or English individual the notability case might be clearer. Perhaps because it might be easier to understand that though notable/ of note, persons of this sort don't make the news in the same way, and with the same frequency/tone as 'popular' people do.

In light of the consideration that popularity is different from notability is it possible to reevaluate the submission?

(if you google/search) Additional sources that speak to notability/importance definitely exist, but because some are blogs like https://lordricharmond.blogspot.com/2017/09/10-salient-features-of-freedom-of.html I chose not to assert them

Textor Alector (talk) 09:39, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

Hey Textor Alector, thank you for reaching out. I assume that the subject referring to is Babatunde Fagbohunlu. Yes, you've rightly pointed out that 'whataboutism' is an argument to avoid seeing as each article is evaluated based on its own merits. The decline reason was "This is sourced mostly to self-submitted profiles and trivial mentions. A subject is considered notable if they have had significant coverage in multiple reliable which are independent of the subject.". Only reliable sources can be taken into consideration. What blog sources say are of little value so it is appropriate not to assert them.
You're right about the bit of notable people not having enough coverage and that is why SNGs exist. I'm however not aware of any SNG for lawyers but I'm willing to check if SANs (Queen's counsel equivalent) are inherently notable. I also don't doubt that that he will get more coverage if elected to the the Supreme Court. Princess of Ara 10:57, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
'preciate your efforts thus far Princess of Ara, would also appreciate (your) perspective on the fact that subject is red-linked/mentioned in other articles on here.
If that weren't the case and this edit was an entirely new mention on Wikipedia I'd understand the need/decision to 'not clutter' this pretty nifty project, but in this case the contribution fills an acknowledged gap (no?) Textor Alector (talk) 13:23, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
As far as I know, the number/presence of incoming links is not a marker of notability. Per WP:RED, a redlinked subject is plausibly notable but still has to be proven by the criteria at WP:N. Hope this helps. Princess of Ara 17:57, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
) it does, Princess, thank you

Corrections made: Kindly review draft

Hello Princess of Ara,

Thanks for the message regarding https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Baba_Dee Could you review again, as I have since made the needed corrections.

Thanks, once again.

OYWiki (talk) 20:49, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

@OYWiki, Thank you for making the disclosure. I'll leave it for another reviewer to take a look. I also think the disclosure should be put on your user page instead of the talk page. Thank you. Princess of Ara 06:32, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

Requested corrections have been made

Hi, kindly give my article another look, MrMarvE (Marvis Effiong) is in no way related to the subject and changes have been made concerning the image uploaded. Kindly give it another look, thanks for taking your time to do this. i appreciate. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Marvellous_Odiete

Hi @MrMarvE, Unfortunately, the article has been deleted for being a copyright violation so the changes you made were probably not helpful. Kindly take a look at WP:YFA and ask for clarification at the teahouse in order to write an article that gets created into and survives inthe main space. I'm mandated to assume good faith but I however find it difficult to believe that you are not connected to the subject of your draft but I will leave it to the COI noticeboard to decide. Kindly sign on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) so that people can respond to your messages easily. Kind regards. Princess of Ara 06:54, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

Please I'll like to pay you for the creation of a wiki article for individuals. How much do you charge and how long will it be ready. Expecting your feedback. Thank you. Yusufabatan2 (talk) 08:41, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

Hey @Yusufabatan2, thank you for the enquiry. I do not edit for pay so I cannot be of help. You can request for the article to be created here. If the subject is notable per Wikipedia guidelines, it will get created. Better still you can write it yourself and submit at AfC. Hope this helps

Wikipedia page for Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr

Good evening. I would like your assistance in creating a Wikipedia page for the above named person. I gave it a go but I'm stuck in draft phase and do not know how to proceed. Thanks. Bonchee (talk) 19:16, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

Hello @Bonchee, I'm sorry but your draft is not fit for Wikipedia's main namespace as written. This is because the sources used in the draft are not reliable as I noted in my decline comment. You have to demonstrate how the subject of your draft satisfies the general notability guidelines or the subject specific guidelines for politici ans using reliable sources. Hope this helps.
Princess of Ara 20:17, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
I have made corrections on the draft in line with your guidance. Kindly review. Thank you. Bonchee (talk) 10:51, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Bonchee, sorry I missed this. The source you added seems okay to me. if you can find one more similar source I guess it will be just fine. You can then resubmit for another reviewer to take a look. Cheers.

Editing Draft:Mikhail Mouty

Dear Princess of Ara, Thank you for the very quick review of my draft and for your valuable comments. You have rejected the article on the basis of the person's notability. It is true that the article seems purily touching on the person's scientific achievements. However what I missed is to share the image he is seen by his community as a person who was born in a poor mountain village in Syria where very few make it to university. After earning his doctorate he returned to his country and started inspiring students to follow through their scientific ambitions. At the same time he was helping his common people to find water sources using the skills and experience he learned in his Academic field. I will take your comments to include third party sources prising his work for the local comunity. Some of these sources are in Arabic language and some are you tube videos. Can you guide me if such resources can be integrated in the English language draft ? and if they constitute a tangible proof of notability.

Best regards, MEF2362 — Preceding unsigned comment added by MEF2362 (talkcontribs) 12:51, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Sources in any language are welcome; they just have to be independent of the subject, reliable and cover the subject in detail in order to demonstrate notability. Youtube can be used if it is from a verified channel. When you have added these sources, you can resubmit the draft for another reviewer to take a look. Hope this helps.

Benjamin Sokomba Dazhi

Hello, I saw your post on the new article I created about citations. The article Benjamin Sokomba Dazhi was first moved to draft by Celestina007 for same reasons but she later cleared it based on WP:CREATIVE. However, she promised to help by adding more sources to the article. Kindly check her talk page for the discussion on this article. Moshswacide (talk) 16:58, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Kindly check here please Celestina007 Moshswacide (talk) 17:05, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Hey @Moshswacide, unfortunately I had the tab open all day and only saw that it was already accepted to mainspace when I tried to decline the draft. A draft is usually accepted at AfC if it has a 50% chance of surviving at AfD but I on the other hand try to aim for about 80% chance. So you see, acceptance only means that the subject is probably notable. I honestly don't see how the subject passes the notability guideline for creatives as there's no coverage by reliable sources. Can you demonstrate how the subject meets the said guideline?
Princess of Ara 19:13, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
@Princess of Ara: Do these coverages on him count; busyupdates, 47vibez, BellaNaija even though they are not yet added to the article? Not to mention the added sources from the Cartoon Network website and kidscreen. If not, kindly Google his name and see if he passes or not. I am still learning, so I still need help from experienced people. Regards Moshswacide (talk) 23:08, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
@Moshswacide, busy updates and 47 vibes seem like content scrapers, hence not reliable. Personally I think Bellanaija is a good source for entertainment information but Wikipedia consensus says no. Cartoon network website is a primary source. I already did a google search before adding the notability tag. Maybe we should just take it to AfD for the community to decide.
Princess of Ara 06:50, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

@Princess of Ara: Thank you for the explanation. Like I said I'm still learning, whatever you do I'm OK with it. Once again thanks alot. Moshswacide (talk) 09:27, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

I am an avid fan of specialty card tricks and when I found that wikipedia had articles about it I was surprised to find that they didn't have a profile for one of my very favorite magicians. How does Lee Asher,, Chris Kenner, Daniel and David Buck - Dan and Dave who all worked with him have pages, yet he does not?

He is mentioned in several articles as the creator of the genre:

1 (Multiple mentions) 2 3

The authority on card flourishes, Jerry Cestkowski said in his book, Tudor had "very, very good flourish cuts and some unbelievable false flourish cuts." (http://docshare.tips/the-encyclopedia-of-playing-card-flourishes_587545e9b6d87f86848b49f5.html )

You asked for more independent sources to confirm his notability, the article lists that he is cited as notable by:

1. Vanity Fair 2. Bicycle Playing Card website 3. Urban Dictionary 4. Genii Magazine 5. Magic Magazine 6. DecemberBoys.com.ua 7. "Flash Cards with Jerry Cestkowski" podcast

I am in contact with the cited noble contributors such as David Copperfield, Chris Kenner, and Dave and Dan, but they all don't understand why the draft would be rejected.

Do you have any tips to help me accomplish this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by CardistryExpert (talkcontribs) 03:58, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

@CardistryExpert, I only declined the draft because it was not written from a neutral point of view. No need for talking up by using words like renowned and trend setter when the subject was not described as such by the sources quoted. Being a fan can make neutral editing difficult. I did not assess the subject for notability just yet because the tone is one of the quick fail criteria at AfC. I however want you to note that pointing at other articles that exist in mainspace is an argument to avoid
Princess of Ara 07:11, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
@Princess_of_Ara, I fixed and resubmitted it, but now it was rejected by someone else. Can you approve it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by CardistryExpert (talkcontribs) 16:16, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
The draft history does not reflect this claim

Question about a decline

Hi Princess of Ara! I'm going through some of the pages in Category:AfC submissions declined as copyright violations to remove the infringing text from the drafts, and I had a question about your decline of Draft:Akoko. I ran it through Earwig's copyvio detector but only found matches to Wikipedia mirrors, from before the article was draftified. Am I missing something here? DanCherek (talk) 12:52, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Hello @DanCherek, thank you for checking in with me. I honestly don't remember the thought process because I usually nominate copyright infringements for deletion by G12. Looking at the Earwig now, I see copies in Flikr and a blogsspot, not sure if Flikr is a wikipedia mirror. I must have also missed the fact that the article was pretty old (since 2005) and draftified. That can possibly explain the copies. Apologies for the sloppiness!

No worries! I often see Flickr and Blogspot websites copying from Wikipedia, and this version of the article appears to pre-date both of those sources. Just wanted to double check that with you, but I'll go ahead and reverse the decline to return it to the AFC queue if that's alright. DanCherek (talk) 17:41, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
Okay. That was a big goof on my part. Thanks for catching it. Cheers.

Recepient > recipient

Hi Princess of Ara - please note the word is recipient not recepient - I've had to correct this at Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story and half a dozen other articles you edited earlier today. Thank you and happy editing - Arjayay (talk) 11:15, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

Noted, with thanks!

@Princess of Ara did you see my question? Cjs1 21:41, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
@Cjs1, I archived the former thread because it seemed buggy. You can have the User box on your page by simply copying the template, ( ) onto your userpage.
Princess of Ara 21:43, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
bugs are scary Cjs1 21:44, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for your mail @El-Praise Nmehielle, regarding your draft Draft:Donatus Chukwunonso Okonkwo, I declined it because you were unable to demonstrate how the subject meets the notability guideline. You also did not provide references for a lot of the biographical information which is not available in the sources cited. This suggests that you might have a close or financial relationship with the subject which you have failed to declare. Kind regards.
