Hi. When you recently edited Hisar, India, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page English (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Action Group (conglomerate) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Cntras (talk) 11:59, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting me on my talk page regarding GA nominations for Hisar (city) article. At the moment, I am busy with other projects on Wikipedia, and won't have the time to review the article fully. However, anything to do with GA nominations and review should really go through the official WP:GA page; as there is a designated team who deal with approving GA articles. Perhaps contacting someone from that team to review the article first, or being bold and just submitting a nomination would be the best steps to take. Good luck with the GA, and I hope you are successful. Regards - WesleyMouse 11:46, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. GA nomination for Hisar

[edit]

The article stands no chance as the references (citation) are formatted wrongly. They lack title and access date. Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources/Example style and Wikipedia:Citing sources for help. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:50, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Other than citations, is there anything else that I need to improve? Please let me know, so that I can improve it in one go. Vishal14K 18:52, 13 May 2012 (UTC) Vishal14K
I did not read the whole article. However, a quick glance rather surprised me, it seems to be a really well built article with good coverage. There must be prose and other minor issues which will come up later on. As an example, if the article goes to WP:FAC, there may or may not be objection regarding the section places of interest. You do not need to remove the section as of now. Gross structure-wise, the article looks excellent. Please improve the citations, and the article will be definitely ready for a GA review. Congratulations for working so deftly on the article!--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:25, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your work on it. You are very dedicated and I appreciate your efforts in creation of all that templates and Wikiprojects regarding it. Anyways, a work on that article for 1 month with help from an experienced editor, you can get it to GA easily. Sorry to close it but no work was done and it will take more then 2 weeks to finish work on it. Try nominating after work of 3 months and it'll succeed for sure. All the best! The article The Best of Lucky Ali has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable album. Didn't appear to chart, two refs are to database-type sites.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Good!

[edit]

I liked your answers. What you have to take care of that when your are reverting vandalism, make sure that you revert it to the un-vandalized revision. For example, if user A vandalizes a page, and then user B further vandalizes it, you have to revert the page to the revision which is not vandalized. If the article is new, and all its revisions are pure vandalism, tag it with {{Db-g3}}. I am quoting some points from WP:VAN, which will help you in taking further steps against IP vandalism. "For repeated vandalism by an IP user it is helpful to take the following additional steps:

  • Trace the IP address (e.g. http://www.domaintools.com/ ) and add {{whois|Name of owner}} to the user talk page of the address. If it appears to be a shared IP address, add {{SharedIP|Name of owner}} or {{Shared IP edu|Name of owner}}. The OrgName on the IP trace result should be used as the Name of owner parameter in the above three templates.
  • Particularly if the IP address is registered to a school or other kind of responsive ISP, consider listing it on Wikipedia:Abuse response."

Another point is do not nominate an article for article for deletion because it is vandalized. Have a look at the table below to understand which warning has to be used when.

Warning templates
PageName is optional

See additional templates and examples of output

Use the last two warnings only in extreme cases.

Hope this will help you. I will again recommend you to have a look at WP:VAN, and then do some Recent changes patrolling. If you have any doubt, feel free to ask me. :) ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 08:36, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hisar GA nomination

[edit]

Unfortunately I may not be able to do a complete review of the article. However, as I told you earlier, the article looked really good on a quick glance. I will definitely have a closer look. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:47, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A few things I just noticed. In "References", you have used multiple short forms, such as "ASI", "HUDA", "JSW". Unless the full forms of those abbreviations are already told in the body of the text, you have to spell out the full name at least once, and then use short forms in subsequent uses in the article.
The names of newspapers should be in italics. One way to do it is to tell the newspaper name under |newspaper parameter in "cite news" template. Another way (if you do not use cite news template) is to use the newspaper name under |work parameter in "cite web" template.
Next, the website apnahisar would not be considered as a reliable source, as this is basically a classifieds advertiement website. So, you have to replace all apnahisar sources with reliable sources (newspapers, books, other reliable web sources etc).
Please notify me after these works are done. I will continue to review. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:58, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
While you are doing these edits, I should tell one more thing. For titles of work (for example, "Central Livestock Farm" is the title you just used for a The Tribune article), sentence case should be used. Although there is debate regarding use of sentence case, one thing is for sure: for a specific article, one particular style needs to be followed consistently. Please see the discussion on "capitalization of headings" in here. So, instead of using "Central Livestock Farm", it would be "Central livestock farm". Another example from Hisar: Ranjit Bhushan (11 November 2009). "Ambala, Kanpur taken as counter magnet towns". Financial Chronicle. Retrieved 31 May 2012. This is correctly done.--Dwaipayan (talk) 19:43, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So, "Haryana Women Sports Festival" should be "Haryana women sports festival" for teh title heading. However, publisher names (proper nouns) should use capital letters. For example, "Haryana Agricultural University" is correct, and "Haryana agricultural university"is wrong.--Dwaipayan (talk) 19:47, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Names of newspapers have been italicized. All abbreviations have been completed in full forms and those which have not been converted are used as such. Titles have been converted into sentence case. And references to apnahisar has been removed. Please take a look. Vishal14K 19:57, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Great!! Will continue to read and suggest. Did a quick copyedit of Etymology. But in the process inadvertently changed some of title cases. Please change those back to correct format.--Dwaipayan (talk) 20:07, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Left some comments in the talk page of Hisar. Please have a look. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 13:52, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have engaged in vandalism, or the user was not sufficiently or appropriately warned. Please note there is a difference between vandalism and unhelpful or misguided edits made in good faith. If the user continues to vandalise after a recent final warning, please re-report it. Thank you. Thanks for helping out! But before coming to AIV, make sure that user has got insufficient warnings. :) ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 14:08, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Kanika a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. —SpacemanSpiff 17:26, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This was my page attempt and I could not move the page because Kanika (actress) itself redirected to Kanika. Therefore I copied all the data from Kanika to Kanika (actress). I didn't know about Wikipedia:Requested moves at that time so thought this was the only way although I searched for some tool that can help in moving pages. But, I admit a made a big mistake there and should have asked a more experienced editor about this. I apologise for my mistake and assure you that this won't happen again. Thanks and regards, Vishal14K | Talk 17:35, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, I just happened by and saw it, so I've fixed it. Copy and paste moves are generally an issue as many editors aren't aware of the process. The message above is the standard templated message (and it has all the necessary info) so I used it. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 17:45, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Kashmiri cuisine article move

[edit]

Hi, you recently moved the article Kashmiri article to Cuisine of Kashmir stating it is the proper naming structure. This is incorrect as national cuisine articles use the Name cuisine format not Cuisine of name format. --Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 16:41, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! I observed this format in a lot of articles. For example, this one. Also on the Wikiproject India page, it is given in the same format. Regards, Vishal14K | Talk 19:59, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cuisine of the United States is different because the term American cuisine is confusing. The question arises if the term refers to cuisine of the United States, The American continent or native Americans? As a result, we use the Cuisine of the United States to avoid the ambiguity. Almost every other article regarding cuisines uses the Xxx cuisine format. --Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 17:34, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non encyclopedic content, Copyrighted material copied from single unreliable source related to organisation, self promotion,WP:ORGIND, not notable org,WP:AUD, Wikipedia:PROMOTION,References Not improved since 2008

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Your contributed article, Outline of Haryana

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Outline of Haryana. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Haryana. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Haryana – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Edward321 (talk) 23:00, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
