Retired

Note to all: After four years of heavy contributions to Wikipedia from articles creations, expansion and improvements to admin duties and 100 000+ edits, I've decided that I will be semi-retirement mode therefore making little contributions in both admin and general improvements here. Aspen Dental

[edit]

Hello: As you are a user who has edited the Aspen Dental page in the past, I’d like to solicit your input on sections that have been added to the page that lack citation, and potentially violate neutral POV. I'm confused why you deleted "I'm kind of a big deal" WHY? MAKE THE PAGE! There are no copyright violations, and it is hugely popular among other entities such as FPS russia (second most popular youtube channel, most popular among subscribers). I'll make it, just unlock it. THanks.

Copy of my deleted article Geonext

Hi. Since you are in Category:Wikipedia administrators who will provide copies of deleted articles, could you please provide me with a copy of my deleted article Geonext? Hi JForget, I've just noticed that Crimsonland is still knocking about with an AfD notice from June. I had added it to the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/10tons_Entertainment, which you closed as Delete. The concensus was to delete Crimsonland too. Thank you for defending Hamfatter...

[edit]

... but your intervention is not required. Hamfatter is indeed a failed Cmbridge pop/rock band and I have amended their entry accordingly. There is no need for you to intervene again, nor to explain the rules or ethos of Wikipedia, with which I am fully familiar.

If you yourself are unfamiliar with the broad and differing nature of the Internet - and the opinions expressed therein which reflect this - then please feel free to ask, and I will be happy to explain. Until then, please do not revert the Hamfatter entry until you can provide evidence to back up your position. Until then, welcome to Wiki, and let me state that your enthusiasm is most welcome also. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.12.192.73 (talk) 23:45, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Although other people have reverted it again. You might at well take a look at WP:NPOV if you have a chance. Sure criticism of the band can be added in the article as long as it has reliable sources but not personal opinions especially on the first sentence (well anywhere in the article). (reply to both messages) : No problem at all Yep there are a lot of it (red links), but when I usually make maintenance work it is usually on list pages in which all have blue links except a couple of red links or index/list of topics pages. If it is consisting in majority of red links - I don't touch them generally. So I might just touch a few Indonesia list pages only. JForget 01:31, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Brandon Stacy

[edit]

Hi there, I would like to appeal the deletion of Brandon Stacy. He is Spock in the Phase 2 series which gets over 4,000,000 hits per month. I don't think this is "not a notable" achievement. Please let me know if I need to work the article differently to allow it to stay on Wiki. I suppose adding that he is Zachary Quinto's body double in Star Trek would assist?

Thank you!

Miss Kat —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rynnakat (talkcontribs) 20:02, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To appeal a deletion you would have to go at WP:DRV as it was the result of this Checking out the edits and it does mention briefly that but I suspect that since he only did that role for three episodes and only in the fan series, they thought it wasn't notable enough to warrant its own article. Most of the other actors in the fan series don't even had their own articles. Stacy seems to have multiple roles although they don't look significant for the most part aside from Spock but an actor must have multiple significant roles in multiple productions according to WP:ENT. Looking at the list of roles, many of them look minor and also many of them for just 1 or 2 episodes so even though he played in TV series such as the O.C., Joey or Hannah Montana, they looked to be minor roles in only a few episodes (if not more then one). Not sure if his role in Dead Man Walking and other film were significant though. Though the list is from IMDB so more sources would be needed for the filmography. I can userfy the article so you can make the additions as well as copy-editing/clean-up per WP:MOS, although it might be a long shot for him to have an article unless he gets a major role in the Reaper. Lots of Google hits but little significant/reliable/tertiary sources.JForget 16:29, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page revival request

[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you were the deleting admin in a page I created, List of sponsored sports competitions in this AFD, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of sponsored sports competitions. Now the main verdict for it's deletion was because the criteria was too unwieldy and could have included any club to create an unessicary huge list. Well after having it userfied, I have limited the inclusion criteria to only include top level competitions that top level teams play for. The work I have done on it in improvement is here User:The C of E/List of sponsored sports competitions. Please let me know if you think this is acceptable to be brought back to the main page or if it would be better going to Deletion Review? The C of E. God Save The Queen! This was just discussed at ANI. I'm surprised you weren't informed but the thread's now been marked "resolved". I almost closed the AFD in question because I didn't think that the two delete !votes were that strong (but they did put it slightly out of NAC range) and it's not a discussion I would have relisted but the suggestion that you relisted it in bad faith because "you wanted it deleted" was completely uncalled for. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 13:03, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

deletion of the Scott Free (musician) page

[edit]

JForget, I left a message with IronGargoyle about him possibly reviving the 'Scott Free (musician)' page. I realize now that editing a page about yourself is a conflict of interest - but I did not create the page, and Wikipedia encourages updating pages to keep them current. I was going to add that I am being inducted into the City Of Chicago Gay & Lesbian Hall of Fame http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Gay_and_Lesbian_Hall_of_Fame and is referenced at The Advocate and Huffington Post http://www.advocate.com/News/Daily_News/2010/09/20/G_and_L_Hall_of_Fame_Honors_15/ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/chicago I'm not sure if that is enough to revive the page - I tried to request a reviving of the page, but not sure if it went through.

AfD review for Arborophilia

[edit]

You closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Arborophilia as no consensus, but I'd like to relist or review the AfD since all the editors who participated were blocked as Appel sockpuppets. As you are semi-retired, I'm not sure if I should take this up at WP:Deletion review or just renominate it, but the directions noted to contact the closing admin first. I've added a few links to new and existing references, but a recent search provides no indication of coverage beyond regional theater productions. Flowanda | Talk 01:07, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that this is factually inaccurate. AfD was closed as KEEP not no consensus. 79.142.65.53 (talk) 11:15, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
for some reason I am a talk page stalkerI don't think deletion review is appropriate, as the consensus at the time (Feb 2010) was to keep so consensus was clear before the socking was revealed. You should just straight relist it if you don't think it's notable. Bigger digger (talk) 23:17, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, thanks, it looks like renomination is the right way to go, but talking with the closing admin seems to be universal first step. Flowanda | Talk 07:45, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I'm recreating a page similar to a page that has been deleted. As suggested, I'm contacting the deleting administrator first. The article is for holidaylettings. The company has grown in notability and facts can be backed up with references from The Guardian and The Times newspapers in the UK. How would you suggest proceeding?

request to undelete Anna Ayala

[edit]

JForget,

I know you're not around much, but maybe you can consider fulfilling my request. You deleted the Anna Ayala article based on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anna Ayala, which provided two opinions to delete the article, and one opinion to move the information to Wendy's. Over 20 different editors worked on this article, and it seems to me unfair to them to delete it based on the opinions of two editors who wanted it deleted. Really, an AfD with so little activity (especially regarding an article of such size and such care in its development) should have been extended another week.

The story still has significant internet coverage.

As in the case of Jennifer Wilbanks, which now redirects to Runaway bride case, maybe the article would serve Wikipedia best if it were renamed Finger hoax or something like that.

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity

[edit]

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. –xenotalk 15:51, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of change

[edit]

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that if you are inactive for a continuous three year period, you will be unable to request return of the administrative user right. This includes inactive time prior to your desysopping if you were desysopped for inactivity and inactive time prior to the change in policy. Inactivity is defined as the absence of edits or logged actions. Until such time as you have been inactive for three years, you may request return of the tools at the bureaucrats' noticeboard. After you have been inactive for three years, you may seek return of the tools only through WP:RFA. Thank you. MBisanz talk 00:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request to take part in a survey

[edit]

Hi there. I would very much appreciate it if you could spend ~2 minutes and take a short survey - a project trying to understand why the most active Wikipedia contributors (such as yourself) may reduce their activity, or retire. I sent you an email with details, if you did not get it please send me a wikiemail, so that I can send you an email with the survey questions. I would very much appreciate your cooperation, as you are among the most active Wikipedia editors who show a pattern of reduced activity, and thus your response would be extremely valuable. Thanks! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 13:00, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Hazeldean Mall has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

NN mall.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Seanwolfington/Sean Wolfington, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. New 10,000 Challenge for Canada

[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! WikiProject Weather: Map Dot & Template/Infobox Colors

[edit]

Dear project member, This message is being sent out to encourage new ideas and feedback on those proposed in regard to the colors debate for WikiProject Weather. For those who are unaware of what's been happening over the last year, I will give a brief summary. We have been discussing proposed changes to the colors of the dots on tropical cyclone maps and templates and infoboxes across the entire weather project in order to solve issues related to the limited contrast between colors for both normal vision as well as the various types of color blindness (MOS:ACCESS). We had partially implemented a proposal earlier this year, however, it was objected to by a number of people and additional issues were presented that made it evident this wasn't the optimal solution. We tried to come up with other solutions to address the issues related to color contrast, however, none of them gained traction and no consensus was generated.

We need your help and I encourage you to propose your own scale and give feedback on those already listed. Keep in mind that we are NOT making a decision on any individual proposal at this time. We are simply allowing people to make proposals and cultivate them given feedback from other project members. Please visit our project page for additional details. The proposal phase will close no later than December 31st at 23:59 UTC. NoahTalk 04:09, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
