Former General of the Army Hadi Tjahjanto is appointed as the Minister of Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, replacing previous minister Sofyan Djalil.   • 7 July – Hundreds of officers are deployed to arrest a prominent Islamic cleric in an Islamic school in Jombang who is accused of sexually harassing dozens of his students. Scuffles are reported as supporters of the cleric tried to prevent the police from entering the school complex.[90]
