Have you checked the RAW signature box? <DREAMAFTER> <TALK> 22:42, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You go to your My Preferences, see the "Signature:" box, where you can type? Put the code, everything in the edit box, into the typing space and check the RAW signature box, and click the "Save" button. <DREAMAFTER> <TALK> 21:55, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
When you put it in, check the end of the code, and see if it is all there. <DREAMAFTER> <TALK> 22:10, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

EfD[edit]

I removed you from the prohibited users list. Just read over the instruction creep and keep inline with that. If you have questions, let me know. As for your suggestion to create criteria, that's fine. Check my talk page for the correct name. It's redlinked in your message title. LaraLove 04:34, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your Motives[edit]

R's EfD was deleted because of a request from the creator. Your quote "We work hard to create a clean, free encyclopedia for all the world to enjoy." is quite misleading. Do 'We?' Think long and hard before you piss on someone's black kettle. Your role is intregal to this project, but instead of coming of as adversarial, why don't you take the time to better an article? Find a problem, and I'll help you edit mercilessly. But simply being quick with the 'undo' tab is not enough, in my own opinion, to warrant your judgment call. It takes all kinds. You need to find a balance. the_undertow talk 12:37, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. If you're going to offer assistance designing userpages that's fine, but this is definitely the wrong way to do it. Either get rid of the whole silly "mart" thing (if someone's going to request a userpage, they don't need to go to a bunch of subpages, that's unnecessary bureaucracy) or I'm putting this up for MfD. -Wooty [Woot?] [Spam! Discussion about you[edit]

I have opened a discussion about you at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:Gp75motorsports. I have concerns about your edits because of the amount of user projects you make that keep creating that do not assist Wikipedia and continually get deleted at MfD. Metros (talk) 14:23, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked[edit]

The community's patience has been clearly exhausted for this kind of behaviour, after the numerous MfDs and posts on ANI, and I've blocked you for a month to prevent this kind of stuff. I sincerely hope that you will contribute purposefully after the block has expired. --Maxim(talk) 15:43, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Zer0431 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I've got a little different way of doing things. When I set a project up, I prototype my structure, i.e. I put the page up, then I go over BURO and use it as a guide and smooth out the rough spots over a period of weeks. It's a slow change but this way I can make sure I adhere to guidelines better. I've explained this on ANI but for whatever reason no one's ever willing to give me time. I want to be unblocked so I can continue with this procedure.

Decline reason:

This is the sort of behavior that scuttled your RfA, and everyone concerned was hoping you would have gotten the hint; your "projects" seem to mistake Wikipedia for a social site, and almost unfailingly forget we are here to build and encyclopedia. I'm not sure why you seem so obsessed with creating structures where you and your acquaintances can give each other titles, but Wikipedia is not the place for it— and I agree that you need some time away to reconsider your methods of contributing. — Coren (talk) 17:12, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You must want me to quit, huh? Well I tell you the way power-corruted admins treat me, I'm thinking of it. Y'know, you probably could've kept me from editing my namespace, but noo, you had to go the whole nine yards and flat outright ban me without warning. That's not good. Check my contributions. Most of those are concerning how to improve things. This isn't helping. So I take things a little different. To hell with me for doing what I think is right. Pfft. >:E --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 17:26, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a power-corrupted admin, I'm sure, but this is the smallest amount of power that could ever corrupt a person, I think. I've been watching your edits since you first joined Wikipedia, the best of a bad bunch. Your friends seemed determined to use Wikipedia as a sort of social club, but you were the one among them who was actually making useful edits, too. I've stayed out of your way, mostly, hoping that you would eventually catch on that while your improvements to the encyclopedia were useful, your fascination with creating overly complicated projects achieving nothing that wasn't being done better without them was handicapping you. I hoped that you would get tired of creating all those projects and get on with the useful editing that every month you were getting better and better at. I'm sorry that you didn't. I don't know if I would have gone with a one-month block; but when I saw your unblock request, I knew that I couldn't say he was wrong about your edits, and so I couldn't in good conscience unblock you. I still think you're a useful part of the project, and that you'll eventually find that the useful work is more rewarding than the nonuseful work, and I hope you'll be back when your block is up. Maybe you'll even be ready to just work on the encyclopedia, without needing to create any new systems for working on it. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 17:35, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
All I request is that I be banned from editing my non-talk, non-main userpage, non-userbox subpages. I like to contribute to the encyclopedia; I've now seen that there are other places I can go to do the exact same thing. Do me a favor and protect all my project pages, but otherwise let me get back to editing the mainspage. And by the way, I don't say I've seen the light just to get an unblock; I really have. I've also got a few articles that I need to work on; see SuggestBot's message. If this means that you have to protect all my projects, so be it, as long as I don't get to edit them. Thanks, --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 17:56, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am reducing this block to 48 hours, as I believe the current block length to be excessive. Personally I would not have blocked, but there is clearly a consensus that the block was appropriate. WaltonOne 18:04, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 18:06, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, one more thing: Could you just go ahead and delete ChampionMart? I don't want this to escalate into a holy war, as did the WuA. --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 18:07, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Remember, this reduced block length doesn't give you permission to continue your project obsession. Hopefully you do follow through on your promise above to focus on encyclopedia contributions and not user space edits. Metros (talk) 18:09, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Gp75, you need to listen to the advice of Metros and FisherQueen above, both of whom are trying to guide you in the right direction. Maxim should not have blocked you, but you should listen to experienced Wikipedians who are trying to help. WaltonOne 18:24, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, hopefully you guys have some kind of protection against that. Here's an idea: Any project of mine that hasn't been reccomended to WikiProjects will automatically be deleted on the spot. Also, is there a way I can tell ArchiveBot not to delete this message? --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 18:30, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've closed the MfD debate. Hopefully we can just put this past us, 'eh? ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 18:34, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Don't know how to tell ArchiveBot not to archive something, because I'm afraid of ArchiveBot. In my imagination, it has a large circular saw on one arm, and 'Crush Kill Destroy' tattooed on its bicep. Unlike SineBot, whom I imagine as a small robotic puppy with a quill pen. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 18:35, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, let's. This needs forgetting. --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 18:37, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(undent) For what it's worth, I'm happy this could be resolved without a long block. There are no available mechanisms to prevent you from contributing to namespaces other than article and article talk, except the remedy of blocking you if you do— so your willpower will have to do. — Coren (talk) 18:38, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, hmmm. Gp75motorsports, if you'd like to continue your pursuit of playing around with wikicode and seeing what it can do, I suggest you start a project on Wikiversity (ask around here for help starting it. If you'd like me to copy the deleted pages to Wikiversity, I'll gladly oblige (I will not unblock you, however: this is a Wikipedian affair and involves a consensus that binds me). I assume it will be OK to tell your "customers" where your shop has relocated to after your block expires. --SB_Johnny | talk 18:50, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is worldwide wiki, ill give you the link to it.

I'm filling out the form you will need to provide to me;

What will this wiki be about? What sort of articles will be included?

It'll mainly be a wiki about HTML and other languages that can be found on wikis. The "Shop" section, which will take up about half the site at the beginning, is derived from the now deleted ChampionMart page on my space and will have transwikiable free images, userpages, userscripts, signature designs, etc. that will be able to be pasted onto any wiki on the Web. All the user will have to do is copypaste the section of nowikied code beneath each example

More information about your project will help us evaluate your request. For example: Who will edit this wiki? Is there already a community around this topic? Do you have friends/colleague who will work with you? How will you promote the wiki to ensure others join in? Also, please provide links to forums and discussion boards on this topic. Thanks!

Anyone who is adept at HTML will be able to contribute, but just like on all Wikimedia or Wikia projects, only administrators will be able to block users or delete pages. Also there are numerous forums on this topic. site, for example, has a relatively large section for it.

Which category should this wiki be in? For example, sports, or arts, or hobbies? Look through the Wikia categories for ideas or select a category from the cloud below. Art, Books, Business, Cartoons, Comics, Communication, Culture, Documentation, Education, Engineering, Entertainment, Events and meetings, Fanon, Finance, Food and drink, Forums, Gaming, Health, History, Hobbies, Humor, Imagination, Language, Miscellaneous, Non-profit Organizations, People, Personal life, Philosophy and Religion, Places, Politics and Activism, Science and Nature, Science fiction, Society, Sports, Sustainability, Technology, Travel.

Documentation, Technology, and Non-Profit Organizations.

They need to be really specific aswell.  Sunderland06  20:12, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocked[edit]

Following further review, I unblocked your account.

Please keep in mind that your activities have become extremely controversial, and that re-creating stuff that was MFDed would be disruptive activity. I urge you to engage in civil discussions about what is and is not appropriate Wikipedia content, and attempt to resolve the issues that others have had with your project prior to resuming activities.

Has J.S. made a comment on the Championmedia request page, because we'll need all the support we can, i have asked User:angela what she thinks about the wiki, did you know that you can take your wikipedia signature and put it into the wiki. I have got to tell you this about the wiki, there are not much templates so don't try to make them it will take far to much of your time and you will never keep it updated enough, and if you do keep it updated then your life will be pretty much useless LOL.

The staff at wiki will probablys set up some basic pages like help pages. Sunderland06  19:20, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies[edit]

Sorry for this edit, I was testing a script and forgot to changed the config :) . Mønobi 20:59, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NikhtaSt[edit]

You're going to unnecessary lengths to "punish" NikhtaSt. You file a request for checkuser to find out any other socks that he has, if any, which won't happen because it is not what checkuser is for. You then file a request for arbitration which is completely unnecessary – what exactly are ArbCom going to do? Arbitration is the last step in dispute resolution. I strongly suggest you withdraw the RFAR immediately, ArbCom aren't going to do a single thing about your indefinitely-blocked user with 3 edits. I still don't see why you are trying to find out what happened to him and if he has any socks. An account whose only intention was to vandalise pages is not immediately a sockpuppeteer. I strongly suggest you drop all of this. Spebi 01:02, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you didn't know he was blocked, why not check his block log? If he wasn't blocked, why not ask an administrator to block him? Why go to all the trouble of setting up unnecessary requests without finding out such an important detail? I really don't understand. Spebi 01:16, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The block's actually 24 hours, my mistake. Hardly alters the fact that he's blocked and if the behaviour continues we can block him again. Hopefully next time you will know what is the appropriate course of action for this sort of situation. Spebi 01:23, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Gp, for some reason, has been urgently circulating the IP address of a user that only turned up on one day as an urgent vandal problem. Who knows why. Saying that the IP already had 3 warnings. I don't know why, nor do I care. Can we edit the encyclopedia please? AlasdairGreen27 (talk) 01:46, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Shutoff[edit]

Yes, it works, but it gives an auto reason of "malfunctioning 'bot". You may want to change that, if possible. All the best, Keilanatalk 01:58, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trust me, you do not want to be flagged as a bot. It may be easier to come up with a committed identity, like going here, then entering some sentence, phrase, or a random bunch of words, then submit, and copy the algorithm that says SHA-512, like 3a928aa2cc3bf291a4657d1b51e0e087dfb1dea060c89d20776b8943d24e712ea65778fe608ddaee0a191bc6680483ad12be1f357389a2380f660db246be5844. Note: if you copy the code down, you won't know what it means! So, yeah, you should go there, and enter a phrase, such as shutoff something something piledriver (do not copy that phrase!), and copy the longest code, and paste it on your userpage with {{User committed identity}}. Best, BoL 02:06, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hash string isn't really a good function as vandals will be able to unlock it. Try calculating it with SHA-512. Check out my example and Keilana's example. BoL 02:14, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it doesn't flag you as a bot, and the admin can always change the reason. Second, the committed identity is a connection to your real-life identity, such as your middle name or your birthday, which can be used to confirm to an admin that you are in control of the account. You shouldn't make it something that is personally identifying information though, you may actually have to reveal it one day. BoL, a hash string is meant to be extremely difficult to crack; it could take days, and I highly doubt that a WP vandal would have the time to hijack your account and then crack your hash string, providing that it's sufficiently long. Best, Keilanatalk 02:17, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All SHA-512 hashes are long! And I should think about changing my hash, it's something else. And besides, some Wikipedians know my real name, like you for example, and

Gp75motorsports. But, whatever you do, DO NOT REVEAL MY REAL NAME!!! BoL 02:41, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Red Alert"[edit]

Okay, you and BoL both need to stop making such a big deal about this Pee Wee guy. In any case, the post that you "RED ALERT"ed Jimbo's page about was like a month ago. Why were you only making a stink about it now? We've barely heard from the guy since then.

As I said, the two of you need to calm down and read WP:RBI and WP:MOV very closely. I'd also recommend you take a look at User talk:Blow of Light#What's the point?, where your friend is getting a similar warning. GlassCobra 22:19, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Toyota "userbox"[edit]

Hello. I happened to stumble to User:Your Gp75motorsports/Userboxes/Hates Toyotas (through browsing the Commons Picture of the Year compo pictures) and, through a bit liberal but generally somewhat acceptable interpretation of CSD G10 and U2, deleted it. To wit:

  1. This page ("Hates Toyotas", could be construed as "This User gates Toyotas and wants a dump truck so he can crush one") could be construed as an attack against group of people (Okay, you really haven't done this, have you? =)
  2. It's in incorrect userspace (User "Your Gp75motorsports" does not exist),
  3. It's not even in an userbox format, and
  4. It's an orphan page.

So while this page isn't exactly a major infraction, I deleted it. Please consider this an act of garbage collection rather than any kind of a punitive measure. I figured out it's not exactly a big effort to recreate a box "similar" to this one, anyway (or one that has a little bit less hostile language) - creating userboxes isn't exactly rocket science anyway. =) All the best and happy editing. --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 12:32, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of topic ban[edit]

Per community consensus, you are restricted to editing the article-, talk- and user talk-space only for three months. Furthermore, any interaction in the talk- or user talk-space must not relate to, mention, or infer mention of the vandal formerly known as "PeeWee". Users are prohibited from posting material on behalf of yourself and Blow of Light (talk · contribs), where it would breach the aforementioned conditions.

Futhermore, Blow of Light and yourself are limited to one account only. Breaches of these conditions can result in blocks, up to 48 hours for the first offence (or up to one month for using alternate accounts), and then scaling upwards for further offences at the discretion of the blocking administrator.

Best wishes, ~ Riana 01:12, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For the record, I disagree with this topic ban and have said so at ANI. WaltonOne 19:51, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well there's about a dozen or so editors who were active at this discussion on ANI who agree with it. You're the first dissenting opinion on the ban it appears so far. Metros (talk) 19:56, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I know. I wish I'd got there earlier. As it happens, I can only say that I hope Gp75motorsports isn't driven away by the needlessly draconian measures the community has seen fit to adopt. I will, of course, abide by consensus, but I am also entitled to disagree with it. WaltonOne 20:26, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Application[edit]

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Gp75motorsports. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. βcommand 13:49, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Watching my page?[edit]

Thanks for warning the guy who blanked my User page a few times. But, uh, you do realize that was last March? Sean Martin (talk) 20:10, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You've violated your ban three times[edit]

In case you didn't notice, the ban restricts you to article space (like University of Michigan or Dinosaur), talk space (like Talk:University of Michigan or Talk:Dinosaur), and user talk space (like User talk:Gp75motorsports or User talk:Metros). Since the ban under 20 hours ago, you have edited the Wikipedia space three times in violation of this ban. I have opened discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Enforcement.3F to see from other users what kind of enforcement should relate to this ban.

In addition, your edits to the user talk space that have taken place since the ban have not been truly productive as already addressed to you by Sean D Martin. Please adhere to the guidelines of the topic ban. Metros (talk) 20:28, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is your final warning, by the way. Any further editing outside the above three namespaces, whether "constructive" or "my job" or not, will result in blocks per the enforcement provision of your community namespace and topic ban. Daniel (talk) 22:49, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to go against the flow here and give you one final warning, you've created a redirect which is barely necessary, you've gone around leaving vandalism warnings for users who vandalised in March 2007, and you've completely messed up creating a user account for another editor, all in direct violation of your topic ban and parole as agreed by the community at WP:ANI. I'm sorry, I really don't know how best to say this, but you appear to have absolutly no idea what you're doing in those areas and I believe the best thing would be for you to pay attention to these areas for a few months before beginning to participate again. I'm especially concerned that errors in creating usernames correctly might prevent new editors from being permitted to contribute to the site. I'm therefore not going to block you at this point as I do understand you're trying to edit constructively, but unfortunately these attempts are backfiring. You're probably trying too hard to prove what an excellent contributor you can be, which might be the problem, so I would suggest being more relaxed and laid back when editing, don't rush to warn vandals, nobody judges you on how quickly you do anything around here, we judge you on how well you do it, perhaps justly, perhaps not. Nick (talk) 23:00, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You deliberately and knowingly violated the terms of your community ban, here. The idea is to get you to focus on article-writing rather than the other useless stuff you have devoted your time to up until this point. Seriously, mate, next time and it's a 24-hour block. Daniel (talk) 23:09, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You don't have to do wikignome work. Do a some research and expand an article, there are thousands of articles needing all forms of help and thousands of stubs to expand. If you think article work is just a waste of time, perhaps you are on the wrong project. Mr.Z-man 23:16, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please watch out[edit]

The topic ban is enforced in order to help you, not some arbitrary whim cooked up by us. Please at least try to abide by it. Do not create accounts. Do not issue pointless vandalism warnings. Do not waste your own time. You appear to be really interested in cars - there are plenty of car articles which could do with cleanup, because they tend to get vandalised over time and degraded. Why not try working on those? I think a few auto articles are GAs, even FAs - it's just something to work towards, you know? Like I say, we're trying to help you, and while I've never personally written a GA or FA I can tell it's a work that involves a lot of learning, a lot of challenge, and it's educational for both yourself and so many others. Please don't use up your chances. ~ Riana 00:28, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion[edit]

I see you're having a difficult time as of late. With some reservations, I'd like to point you in the direction of recent changes patrol since you've expressed an interest in fighting vandals on your user page. It's a chance for you to revert vandalism and for you to figure out ways to improve edits to the project. I say I recommend this with reservations because one of the aspects of recent changes patrol involves leaving warnings on problematic editors pages. You haven't shown a great deal of understanding about when editors should be warned, so I'd recommend you asking an administrator or another editor (including me) to take care of any warnings you might want to dole out. You don't need to use any special scripts for this, just keep hitting the recent changes button on the interaction menu to the left and checking them out. This will help you figure out how to interact more productively in the mainspace, and show others that you want to participate in improving the encyclopedia not in the MMORPG aspects of the community. Just a suggestion, but you must use restraint. AniMate 01:56, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd suggest you restrict your RC/NP patrol to providing constructive improvements to articles. Vandal reversion and warning and tagging is clearly an area that you are not intended to work in during the term of your ban. Avruchtalk 02:04, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Another suggestion is helping to helping to get rid of the pesky citation needed templates. Read up on reliable sources and go to a category like this and start finding good sources to replace those templates with. AniMate 02:16, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions[edit]

Looking through your contributions to the article space so far in the last day:

  1. Don't tell people "I had to delete it" like you did here. A. You're not an admin so you don't delete anything. And B. "Wikipedia is not a guide" is not a speedy deletion reading. You can see the criteria for speedy deletion at WP:CSD.
  2. Articles don't get introduction headers like you gave Accountability mechanisms in local governments in Kerala.
  3. Don't add articles to stub as a category. Add a stub template.
  4. When you welcome someone (or warn them), like this, make sure you substitute the template like this {{subst:welcome}}
  5. You don't need to add the underconstruction template to every article that isn't fully expanded unless you plan on working on that article. That is generally meant for editors of the article to let others know their intentions.
  6. Pay close attention to your speedy deletion nominations. You have a couple of "good" nominations which wound up being deleted, but you had more declined because there actually was context when you said there wasn't

Please take some of this advice and utilize it in your edits. You're on the right track, you just have room for improvement (like a lot of people do). Metros (talk) 14:35, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Violation block[edit]

With your creation of Template:ArbCase and Template talk:ArbCase, I have blocked you for 24 hours per your topic ban. You were explicitly told and warned several times about what your ban consisted of and what to avoid editing. Because you did not adhere to these restrictions, you have been blocked for 24 hours. In addition, your template was misguided as there are already templates for this purpose. Regarding this tag, please be aware that only articles about people, bands, organisations and websites can be speedily deleted for lack of notability; articles about other things (like bridges) can't be. This is because WP:CSD#A7 is intended mainly to deal with the many people who write spammy "vanity" articles about themselves, their band which has played one gig in their local pub, or the website they just started. It's not a blanket way of deleting anything and everything which individual editors don't think is important - it's better to use WP:PROD or WP:AFD for these. Wackerbarth-Palais[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Wackerbarth-Palais, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Wackerbarth-Palais. Are you trying to get blocked? While this edit isn't a violation of the letter of your topic ban, it is a violation of the spirit. I know you feel put upon, and I'm sorry. One final thing, you should probably read up on everything involved at WP:Images. This edit shows a lack of understanding about uploading images. You claimed to hold the copyright of that picture, which I kinda doubt. Basically, holding a copyright means you actually took the picture, unless the photo was printed in a publication or another website. Uploading the picture to wikipedia doesn't mean you hold the copyright. Careful about things like that, as I don't want to see you restricted from images as well. I have rolled back your edit to this image description page for two reasons:

  1. The image description page is in the image namespace, and lies outside the scope of the pages you are permitted to edit by your community ban. Continued defiance of your ban is likley to result in yet another block, and eventually a broader ban.
  2. In order to use the template that you placed on the image page, {{GFDL-self}}, you must be the copyright holder of the work; in this case, you must have taken the photograph yourself with your own camera on your own time, or you must have hired someone else to do it specifically as a work-for-hire. That is dubious, at least. You may be able to use the image under a claim of fair use in particular articles, but it is not a free picture.

Let me know if you have any questions about our image and copyright policies, and I'll be glad to help. Cheers, ➪HiDrNick! 02:20, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to what HiDrNick says, there's no way that image would be able to stay as a fair use image. Fair use requires that the image cannot be replaceable with a non-fair use image. This car would be replaceable because someone could reasonably take a photo of it and release it for free use. Metros (talk) 02:29, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
He was expressly told above, by both Daniel and AniMate, that his topic ban allowed him to edit image pages. WaltonOne 14:32, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was just going off of the explicit declaration of topic ban here. Still, I doubt that anyone here would have minded an edit to the image namespace if it were correct or even plausible. ➪HiDrNick! 16:00, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Entry Help[edit]

Hey, Thanks for your response :) I wish to bring back up Incredimail's old discussion page. I hope you don't mind, I have two more questions: DodgerOfZion has added an advert tag into the entry I had edited. How should I revise my entry so it will be removed? Secondly, Incredimail and IncredMail are two different entries. Is there any way to combine them into a single entry?

Thank you in advance, I appreciate your help and patience. (62.219.8.20 (talk) 09:11, 21 January 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Blanking pages[edit]

Citations[edit]

Hi

I am creating articles that appear on WP:AFC these are contributed by inexperienced editors that would not know wikipedia standards. If the information is there I will copy it in, but probably not change citation formats or templates. You are welcome to improve it. Normally I would add links, headings, highlight, stub and cat tags. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:16, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the star! I was not looking for affirmation. Are you willing to spend some time fixing up citations? I must admit that I do not bother much with the correct style with these, and my work will be limited to ref tags. Different people have different enthusiasm for doing things! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:13, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have done a little bit of new page patrol, even doing the patrolled click, but there seems to be a big backlog that never was finished. My policy is to do as much new page patrolling as new pages I have created! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:14, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[edit]

This is the only warning you will receive.
Your edit to User talk:Heqwm, seen here, violates the terms of your community probation/ban. According to the consensus-accepted proposal, "[you] are restricted to editing the article-, talk- and user talk-space only for six months ... Users are prohibited from posting material on behalf of these users, where it would breach the aforementioned conditions". Your comment specifically asks for a user to post a message on WP:AN/I for you, "[because you] can't post at ANI because [you're] on a topic ban right now". I have reverted your comment, and this is your only warning that any further attempts to have people proxy your messages to a page that you are banned from editing, whether successfully or not, will result in a block under the terms of your probation/ban and the agreement arising from the last block/unblock. Daniel (talk) 01:49, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You were put on community probation for six months instead of being community banned for six months. The community probation is a matter of public record and, by editing on Wikipedia, you agree to respect it and will warnings when you violate it. If you cannot accept this, then I will put in place the six-month community ban. The decision is yours, basically. Daniel (talk) 02:06, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

One of the reasons I've taken an interest in you, is because it's plain to see that you do mean well. Unfortunately, you haven't gone about things in quite the right way, which is why you're having to deal with this unfortunate topic ban. I started coming to wikipedia because I needed a resource that would point me in the right direction when it came to certain historical accuracies. I stayed and started to contribute because it's feels good to learn and feels better to pass on what limited knowledge I have to others. The purpose of being a wikipedian isn't to fight vandals or to take down trolls. We are here to build an encyclopedia and to share knowledge with others, all that other stuff is just background noise. Trust me, don't think of being restricted to the mainspace as a punishment. You can focus solely on the articles, and fuck the background noise.

And for the record, I don't think threatening a community ban against you is productive, and I will oppose if it comes down to it. You're not a bad user, you just need a little guidance. AniMate 02:19, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See the comment on my talk page. It was either a community ban or a community probation — the latter being a luxury. There is already consensus for a ban should it be implemented, so your opposition would best be directed to the Arbitration Committee should Gp75motorsports continue to edit in defiance of/with selective ignorance towards community consensus. The reason for the topic ban was in the hope that Gp75motorsports could contribute constructively to the mainspace, as consensus was many of his other contributions were problematic. I also urge him to contribute to articles rather than "fighting" vandals and hoping "to be the next RickK", as that was the intention of placing a topic ban rather than a full community ban. Daniel (talk) 02:24, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've warned him about breaking his topic ban as well. However, it's quite a leap from a topic ban to a community ban. I think you'd have to take that to one of the boards before enacting it, since the topic ban you drafted here doesn't mention escalating to a community ban. Why provoke him like that? He clearly means well, but he also clearly makes mistakes. AniMate 02:44, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My 11th hour topic ban proposal superceded the community ban discussion above it, which had consensus (many comments along the lines of "support topic ban, although I support a community ban also" were made). He's now had 7 warnings about breaking various parts of his topic ban — how many warnings and chances does one get? Daniel (talk) 02:47, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is the ban we're talking about, right? And is he really that disruptive? I think we should give good faith contributors the benefit of the doubt, and I'm frankly baffled as to why you're so hostile to this kid. He isn't a lost cause, and editing under a microscope (and he is... a lot of us are watching him) isn't easy. Please, ease up on the rhetoric, and try to be kind. AniMate 02:59, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism reverting[edit]

While we're on the subject, if you really feel the need to perform vandal-fighting, please be very careful - if you're not sure about an edit, don't revert it and definitely don't warn the editor. Some of your recent reverts have been of good edits (I found four in your first page of contribs - for instance this was a correct edit, fact tags are fine here, removing the link was correct as it links to the wrong person, this player hadn't joined the team yet). Thanks, BLACKKITE 02:44, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another heads up. Throwing out the word vandalism is generally not a good idea unless you're sure that it is vandalism. Take a look at the page describing vandalism:
Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia. The most common types of vandalism include the addition of obscenities or crude humor, page blanking, or the insertion of nonsense into articles. Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism.
This, while undoubtedly original research, is not vandalism. Describing a good faith first attempt at editing as vandalism is also a violation of WP:BITE. You can't just blindly revert and call things vandalism. I've suggested this before, and I'll do it again. Fighting vandalism and keeping tabs on long term vandals is background noise. Adding to and improving the encyclopedia are what you should be focused on. I see SuggestBot gave you some suggestions not too long ago. Why not edit those articles until you have a better grasp on what exactly vandalism is? You react to criticism quite dramatically and in general seem to embrace the more dramatic sides of Wikipedia as seen by your focus on a long term vandal who I'm not going to name. I hope you take this suggestion calmly and in the spirit in which it is given. I think with time and a lot more maturity you can become a good and productive editor. AniMate 19:56, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I tried. Be careful in the future about your vandal fighting, or you may find yourself facing a second topic ban in regards to leaving warnings. AniMate 22:25, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
A quick note before I have to get back to work. Look at my last few contributions to an entry called Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva. I know nothing about medicine or diseases, and in fact I'm employed on the completely opposite end of the spectrum as an artist. So why'd I edit the entry? I notice you think vandal fighting is fun. Finding sources can be just as fun. It's like an easter egg hunt to me. I have to hunt up sources, and the first things I usually find are almost always blogs, so then I have to figure out what the source for the blog entries are. It's actually quite satisfying. Now, I came across Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva because of an upcoming project I'm doing research for (and rare or strange diseases are every artist in comics or anime's best friend). However, I used the same process to source Nazi human experimentation, a painful entry to work on, but I still sourced just about every sentence in the article, and think I've gotten it to good article status (if anyone ever bothers to review it). Doing things like that are incredibly rewarding, and a much more productive and ultimately beneficial use of your time than just vandal fighting. It's back to the salt mines for me. Can you please outline what you hope to achieve from coaching? I'm not out to get you. I genuinely wish to know what you want to do around here. We need contributors, obviously. We need good contributors more. I would love to help you become a good contributor, but you need to tell me what you hope to get out of it. Please reply here, if you do so. ~ Riana 03:42, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A) I wish to stop being less obstinant in going and getting citations (I heard it's rewarding)
B) I want to be a better vandal fighter, and
C) I just need to have a good knowlede of how to edit productively, not create a mass jam and cause the Apocalypse of Wikipedia. --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 03:49, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK. My sincere suggestion to you - not trying to shut you down here, mind - is to leave the anti-vandalism efforts alone for a little while. Clearly it's not working, and I think a little more experience in the mainspace would be ideal before you recommence that.
Here's what I think you should do. Find an article in an area you enjoy, which needs wikification or sources. Copy+paste it into a subpage in your userspace. Actually, leave the userspace alone, just work on the article directly. Take a week out and work on it. Then show your efforts to whoever you choose as a coach. Most of us are good writers here and will be glad to help you copyedit, etc. But only work on the article. Nothing else. Just concentrate on it when you're on Wikipedia. If you're bored of that, do something offline, but don't get stuck into RCP again.
As for better vandal fighting, I really think that will improve once you start working on articles and feel a little more grounded here. I sense a bit of a desire to prove yourself, which is fine, but we need quiet, hard workers just as much as the flashier editors. Let your work speak for itself. Don't worry about whether other people are impressed by your efforts or not. And don't think that people are out to get you - we're really, really not. ~ Riana 04:02, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Since you're online I'd appreciate it if you'd respond. This is the only way we can move forward from this. ~ Riana 04:35, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for two weeks[edit]

Because of your creation of Image talk:Nuvola apps kteatime.png, you have been blocked for violating your ban for 2 weeks. Many things were wrong with this edit. For one, it was outside the areas of your confinement for your topic ban (user talk, article, and article talk). For another, you made it for an image that doesn't exist at all. And your comment was also unproductive since it was simply the word "Cute" with your signature. Per your agreement for unblock on your previous block, you agree to not protest (i.e. request unblock) for this block. Metros (talk) 22:03, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Apparently the image does exist...but something weird is up. When I go directly to the talk page and then click on "Image" to go to the image page, it comes up as non-existent. But the image is there if I do it in reverse. Metros (talk) 22:06, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That will be fine. However, this comes as a serious hindrance to my small engines articles, which I won't be able to update for two weeks. Don't say it doesn't cocern them, because now they will probably be deleted per WP:CITE and WP:NOTE because I was going to go back and add references today . Also your removal of one of my sections was not appreciated, and I have since reverted and edited it.

Argh. Two week block for an edit to a talk page? He's just got a coach and started editing actual articles and whatnot... Avruchtalk 00:32, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Surprisingly, I really disagree with this block. Now we're back to square one. I'm shortening the block to 2 days, as such a long block will cause more problems than it's solving. Keilana|Parlez ici 00:34, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Um, I think that's happening in all images. Every time I click on one, I go to a nonexistent page with content. What browser do you use? --Gp75motorsports REV LIMITER 00:37, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Why did you do that? The agreement with him last time was that he would be blocked for 2 weeks at the next offense. Especially when he made personal attacks against me right after the block. Metros (talk) 01:02, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not really much of an attack, IMO. Discussion at ANI? Keilana|Parlez ici 01:57, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
A "commie admin" with "nothing better to do"? Feels like an attack to me. And if you want an ANI report rather than discussion here, that's fine. Metros (talk) 02:00, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd think that community input would be good as this is a community ban, but if you'd prefer to discuss on one of our talk pages or here, that would also work. Keilana|Parlez ici 02:02, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not tying to drive him away. I'm just stating this to help him. He appears to be getting too stressed over being here. If htat's the case, then he can walk away like many people have done when the stress got to them. Wikipedia is not life, so it shouldn't place an undue burden on a person's entire being. His "you all suck, you all hate me, I have Asperger's, this makes my life suck" attitude isn't proper. We've discussed with him that Wikipedia isn't therapy and the like, but he continues to behave like this. Metros (talk) 02:43, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ciao![edit]

Greetings, first thank you for adopting me! I am replying a little bit late but only because I have been travelling and moving. I have so many questions about posting in wikipedia. I really want to be able to publish full informational articles without worrying that someone might erase them because of inaccuracy. I will be coming back soon with more questions. I have several ideas about articles and I also want to get involved with translating some wiki entries from English to Bulgarian. In the meantime please check out my website at: prismheart.blogspot.com Thanks again for adopting me! :D

[[User:Gp75motorsports|<span style="color:red">Gp</span><span style="color:black">75</span><span style="color:red">motorsports</span>]] <span style="color:brown">[[User talk:Gp75motorsports|REV LIMITER]]</span> is a bit shorter, using XML colours instead of hex, and removing the font face, which doesn't really make a huge difference and could be unreadable on some browsers. ~ Riana 19:37, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
