Thine Antique Pen has recently suffered a significant loss and is grieving. Consequently, his ability to work on Wikipedia and his time available to do so may be affected – an unplanned short wikibreak is also possible. Your patience with delays in handling Wikipedia responsibilities and in responding to talk page messages or e-mails is appreciated, as is your compassion and understanding. Thank you. |

Dear Thine Antique Pen, I put the following note which concerns your DYK: Comment and question I've completed the reviews of all 14-in-1 DYKs. The question is whether the submitter should have to do a same or similar number. I know that at least some DYKs have not had that requirement. Some do, or at least the question has been raised. I leave that to others with higher rank than me to decide. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 11:55, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

- I copy edited more. I can't make any sense of this sentence: Finishing at the last in the previous season, the Delhi Daredevils added players like Mahela Jayawardene, Andre Russell, Kevin Pietersen and Ross Taylor to the squad. What do you mean? It is an odd way to express it. It is rife with ambiguity, and since I know nothing about cricket and can't divine your meaning, I can't change it. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 20:20, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
Reviewed Trioceros cristatus New article. Long enough. I made a minor changes for clarity. DYK Hook supported by many sources. No copyright violation or close paraphrasing issues. Plagiarism checker was clean. Nicely done. I think the hook might also insert the common name? And I also think a picture would help.

AFT5 newsletter
Hey all :). A couple of quick updates (one small, one large)
First, we're continuing to work on some ways to increase the quality of feedback and make it easier to eliminate and deal with non-useful feedback: hopefully I'll have more news for you on this soon :).
Second, we're looking at ways to increase the actual number of users patrolling and take off some of the workload from you lot. Part of this is increasing the prominence of the feedback page, which we're going to try to do with a link at the top of each article to the relevant page. This should be deployed on Tuesday (touch wood!) and we'll be closely monitoring what happens. Let me know if you have any questions or issues :). Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 14:30, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Dr. Blofeld
Hi, I saw you nominated Dr. Blofield at Wikipedia:Merchandise_giveaways/Nominations#Dr._Blofeld. He's retired at the moment, out of frustration with the Polarscribe case ... do you think he would still want an "I edit Wikipedia" T-shirt? Λυδαcιτγ 02:55, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- I think we should wait for some days, may be a month. He loves editing and he'll be back (that is my hunch). TheSpecialUser TSU 03:04, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- WMF don't hold lists of people's postal addresses, so they will need to contact people in order to send them T-shirts. By the time WMF contact Dr Blofeld, either Dr Blofeld might be editing again, or, if not, he could choose whether to decline the T-shirt at that time. There is no possibility of the T-shirt being somehow lost or wasted on the way to Blofeld's volcano. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 03:16, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- fwiw, I miss Dr. B, and I hope that a show of sympathy might have some weight. It's just a shirt, and what happens to it is of no consequence. The symbolism is transcendent. The medium is the massage. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 03:24, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- I see no issue. Some banned and blocked users have been nominated there, and being retired doesn't matter. Thine Antique Pen (talk) 14:33, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Brookesia thieli, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ranomafana (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

14-in-1
Congratulations on your 14-in-1. I notice that on Flickr there are 4 pictures of the Brookesia ambreensis. Their license is set at "All Rights Reserved" = unacceptable to Wikipedia. I have had good luck sending them Flickr mail with this wording:
I write articles for Wikipedia. Your picture is interesting
(provide URL of his picture here)
and would fit into one or more of the articles I am presently writing on.
(provide URL of your article)
There is at least one tag in use that makes your picture not usable on Wikipedia.
Would you consider downgrading your copyright tags to ONLY "Attribution Creative Commons" so I could use it on some Wikipedia articles.
Do you have any other similar pictures?
Thanks for your consideration.

Dispute resolution volunteer survey
Dispute Resolution – Volunteer Survey Invite Hello Thine Antique Pen. To follow up on the first survey in April, I am conducting a second survey to learn more about dispute resolution volunteers - their motivations for resolving disputes, the experiences they've had, and their ideas for the future. I would appreciate your thoughts. I hope that with the results of this survey, we will learn how to increase the amount of active, engaged volunteers, and further improve dispute resolution processes. The survey takes around five to ten minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist in analyzing the results of the survey. No personally identifiable information will be released. Please click HERE to participate. You are receiving this invitation because you have either listed yourself as a volunteer at a dispute resolution forum, or are a member of a dispute resolution committee. For more information, please see the page that describes my fellowship work which can be found here. Szhang (WMF) (talk) 02:46, 29 November 2012 (UTC) |
Regardin BRFA
Just an update to my comments here, I do not see a need for you to contact me prior to each and every bot request you wish to file, as this is not a userright which would have been covered by MBisanz's original request. I am satisfied that we have discussed bot requests and the general requirements prior to filing one and I trust your judgement on filing sensible requests. Non BRFA requests for userrights should still be requested through me. WormTT(talk) 13:53, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
