Welcome to WikiProject Civil Rights Movement. This has been formed as a collaboration resource and group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of the civiL rightS movemenT and the organization of information and articles on this topic. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions and various resources; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians interested in the topic. If you would like to help, please add yourself as a participant in the project, inquire on the talk page, and see the to-do list, below. Do join us and contribute to the project's development. Thousands of people read our civil rights articles every day and editing one is a great way to improve Wikipedia. Say hello on the talk page or add yourself to our active list of WikiProject Civil Rights Movement/Participants . We would love your help!

Goals

  • To improve Wikipedia's coverage of Civil Rights Movement activists, and their activities and strategies. We plan on ensuring the history of this slow march to equality is well documented, and that the documentation of it is reliably sourced, neutral, and as verifiable as we can possibly achieve. The history of the Civil Rights Movement is not written about a lot in comparison to topics like Donald Trump these days, and we'd like to change that too: we want to engage with and cause people (reader and editor alike) to want to learn more about the great struggles and incredible triumphs this Movement produced. And we'd love to have your help as one of our listed participants.

Scope

  • All articles that can be broadly construed to have to do with the civil rights movement, people, places, events or things.
