Join Wikiproject Cleanup a few months later...
Hello, Northamerica1000. Recently you put a message on my talk inviting me to join Wikiproject Cleanup. I'm interested, but I can't participate right now, as I have become busy in moving files to Commons (Wikiproject Images and Media), and I'm gonna participate after a few months. Re: UC Davis pepper-spray incident
- The article is clearly about the protest movement, and not 'just' the "UC Davis pepper-spray incident".
The primary topic, importance, and significance of this encyclopedia article concerns the UC Davis pepper-spray incident, not "Occupy UC Davis". This statement is supported by the preponderance of reliable sources on this subject, the majority of which are about the pepper-spray incident not the Occupy group or its protest movement. This is reflected by the fact that of the 65 sources currently in use in this article, almost all of them are about the pepper-spray incident. Therefore, I will be moving the article back to its appropriate title. If you wish to move it to an article about "Occupy UC Davis", you will need to show that there are enough reliable sources about just that subject. Viriditas (talk) 22:10, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. See: Talk:UC Davis pepper-spray incident – Occupy UC Davis article title has been changed. Northamerica1000(talk) 03:11, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

NA, if you want a challenge, the FIM main article can use some help. The organization has a long and venerable history, and I'm surprised there's so little in the article. There is plenty of material to at least expand and verify what's there. Happy days, Drmies (talk) 20:20, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

- Thanks to you likewise for creating the new Shippingsport Bridge article, and improving Wikipedia's coverage of this historic and geographic topic for the public. Northamerica1000(talk) 02:59, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
Could I get you to take a look at this article?LuciferWildCat (talk) 13:32, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
- I've made some very basic structure and light copy editing changes. With the addition of a few more inline citations, the article may qualify for Good article status. After images are hopefully added, it may even someday qualify to be a Featured article. Northamerica1000(talk) 22:40, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
- Sweet that is really what I was hoping for, especially since the more attention we can draw to the subject the more editors that will contribute and that should dilute any company propagandizing and other POV pushing and fish out more sources and yes hopefully pictures. Fresh & Easy is offering a swap of pink slime meat from a competitor for pink slime free meat from them, maybe I should go over and take some pictures.LuciferWildCat (talk) 02:04, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- At this point, I've significantly contributed to the article. Hey, if you could post images to Wikimedia commons to improve the article, that would be most copacetic. Northamerica1000(talk) 02:45, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- (Below Re: request on Luciferwildcat's talk page about edit summaries):
- Sounds good, I have started doing that, I think it helps to clarify things more. Hey is there a better way to cite that the content is from the news video rather than from the article itself?LuciferWildCat (talk) 23:23, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- Perhaps just add a note in parentheses at the end of the text when citing a source, within the <ref></ref> character tags, such as "(Sourced from news video – see source)". There's also Template:External media, which adds a box to articles with various link and image options, although this isn't used within inline citations. Northamerica1000(talk) 23:34, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the accolades dude, I just want this article written academically and honestly. I keep spotting whitewashing, i.e. the external image to pink slime was cut out for some reason and about 20 grocery stores that sell it have been removed as well and it's not always brought back after the clear cutting goes on. I am a big fan of not following grammatical rules so that's great, thanks for the cleanup. I really enjoy collaborating with you, thanks so much.LuciferWildCat (talk) 01:25, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- Great job with that infobox and getting that picture.LuciferWildCat (talk) 03:57, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- Hey there is a lot more content in the new york times article that I think should be worked in.[2], especially the smell of the meat being reported as full of ammonia including the prison incident, and how they lowered the levels of ammonia but their research is inconsistent with that being safe. And a lot more.LuciferWildCat (talk) 07:12, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- Update: turns out the image I uploaded was incorrectly labeled at its source as LFTB, when in fact, it was very likely processed chicken, or possibly pork. (link to corrected version here). D'oh! Northamerica1000(talk) 07:22, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

- The A2Z Group article would benefit from the addition of more reliable sources to better verify information in it and further establish the topic's notability. Northamerica1000(talk) 04:50, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- I can find newspaper links, can I source my data from sources like these: http://verticalgrass.com/fundamental-analysis/267-fundamental-analysis-a2z-maintenance.html by William Emmanual | Send me a Message 05:15, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- Newspaper, journal, book and research articles are superior sources when they are secondary in nature and unaffiliated with the topic. It's generally best to avoid commercial websites that are affiliated with the topic: although they may be used to verify information in articles, they don't establish the topic's notability and are considered as primary sources. Is the company Vertical Grass (in the link you provided above) in any way associated with A2Z Group? For example, if A2Z Group in any way compensates Vertical Grass for listing A2Z Group, then it would be a lesser-quality source to use, because this would make it a primary source. For in-depth information regarding these types of matters, please refer to Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources and Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Northamerica1000(talk) 05:26, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- Ok thanks. From the face of it, seeing their "know us" link I am not able to establish any direct link between the two companies (A2Z Group and VerticalGrass). But VerticalGrass is not a known or famous source of information, so I think I will give it a pass for now. I still haven't understood the definitions of a secondary source so I will read more about it before I add more links. by William Emmanual | Send me a Message 05:41, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- There's also this Wikipedia article, which may provide more background: Secondary source. Northamerica1000(talk) 05:46, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- Wow that's really descriptive. Let me go through it and see some examples and I will get back to you soon. Thanks again! by William Emmanual | Send me a Message 05:51, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- Hello! Could you tell me if this article Regalix is well written? I found it while searching around and if you think it is note worthy you could add it to the Companies:Project or you could urge the author/editor to improve it. Thanks! by William Emmanual | Send me a Message 08:39, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Any user can add the {{WikiProject Companies}} template to article talk pages about companies; please feel free to do so. Also, I generally don't do much article review. Feel free to be bold and improve the article, contact the article's creator, etc. yourself, if you'd like. Northamerica1000(talk) 08:45, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
Check out some of the changes I've made to the Regalix article. A way to view each separate change is to go through the page's revision history using the "diff" feature on the revision pages. Northamerica1000(talk) 08:54, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot! And you are right, updating anything on wikipedia always feels scary, you never know what is right or wrong unless some bot or editor sends you a warning note. I will go in and stick the WikiProjects tag on the company's article. Thanks again for being a such an awesome guide. I promise to be a little bolder. by William Emmanual | Send me a Message 09:50, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
