Booni, formerly called; Buni is a suburb of Chitral located in chitral district , sarhad of pakistan

Demographics

The main language spoken in the town is Chitrali.In the 3rd century AD, Kanishka, the Buddhist ruler of the Kushan empire, occupied Chitral. In the 4th century AD, the Chinese overran the valley. Raees rule over Chitral began in 1320 and came to an end in the 15th century. From 1571 onwards Chitral was the capital of the princely state of Chitral

It is located in Hindu kush region.It is one of oldest town

History

Booni, is one of oldest area of chitral there are many valley of high mountains, fresh clean waters, green fields, playgrounds, trees and pastures is situated one and a half hours drive from Chitral town. Booni is a valley of highly mountain green farm lands etc. Chitralis the name of a whole district as well as the main town of this district. It draws its name from a tribe known as Chetar.In Chitrali, Chetar means a tribe or farm, for the tribe was built upon a big farm. Booni is one of the biggest in the whole district of Chitral.

Booni is undoubtedly the most romantic, captivating and enchanting place.

Climate

The climate of Booni is warm during summer & relative to the rest of the Valley, mainly because the sun shines directly in Booni.

In contrast to more southerly valleys of Chitral has a dry Mediterranean climate (Köppen Csa) with almost no rainfall during summers. Precipitation occurs mainly from spring thunderstorms brought about by western frontal systems. In the winter the night time temperature occasionally drops to −10 C. Winter snowfall in the town can be quite heavy with an accumulation of up to two feet being quite common, at higher elevations snowfall can reach as high as 20 metres (70 ft).
