Revision as of 16:46, 13 July 2016

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page. Please do not request that articles deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7 or G11 be undeleted here.

Note that requests for undeletion are not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

Instructions for special cases

Logos of television channels and a radio station of the Netherlands

These three images, which was uploaded in 2012 was deleted by Diannaa, one image, which was also uploaded in 2012 was deleted by James086 and one image, which was uploaded in November 2015 was deleted by Explicit under F5. I would like to request these pages be restored so I can license them under a free license or in the public domain, because I think that these logos are simple and consists of text and simple geometric shape. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. XPanettaa (talk) 21:17, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Since you have failed to answer the question about whether you represent the companies that own copyright on these logos, I assume that you are not such a person. However I have restored two, one of which looks to be simple enough, and the other might be too simple for copyright. The other ones I would count as too complex , so that copyright applies. But if you want to use them on en.wikipedia then a restore can take place. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:20, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: @Graeme Bartlett: I wanted to let you know that File:Mgm channel nl.png, which is probably too complex, is licensed under CC-zero (which you mentioned at my talk page). See this when and where this has happened and then restore these three three (which is not yet restored and you counted as too complex) there above and these four here below:
I don't think that image is related to the ones you mention. However I suspect that the CC-zero on that is bogus, as at the current site of the image it says no such thing, permitting non commercial use only and a number of other restrictions and caveats. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:43, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

XPanettaa (talk) 20:59, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored File:Ziggo Logo.png, as it may be too simple for copyright. I could not track down the IFD discussion, so consider it ignored. The others are complex enough for copyright to apply, but could be restored if you want to use them. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:07, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Graeme Bartlett: I think I want to use them. By the way, File:Sublime FM logo.png, which is from Wikimedia Commons, was uploaded as {{PD-textlogo}}, so if this this logo is probably too simple for copyright to apply, File:SubLime FM.jpeg is presumably also probably too simple for copyright to apply, as the image from Commons, which looks the same as this one, which was uploaded in November 2012 and deleted by James086 in March 2014 under F5, was uploaded as in the public domain, because it only consists of text and shape. This means that File:Sublime FM logo.png and File:SubLime FM.jpeg are probably the same thing. XPanettaa (talk) 14:14, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That is too complex as it has a texture. If you made a differnt texture that looked the same I think it would be fine, or if solid black text it would be pd-simple. But since you want to use them I can restore as fair use. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:55, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Graeme Bartlett: Okay, restore them as fair use, because I want to use them. XPanettaa (talk) 13:53, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you (: XPanettaa (talk) 08:32, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

MyCoRe

The article was deleted because of the concern "Non-Notable software". The software is notable as "Institutional repository" and as "Free institutional repository software". MyCoRe is comparable with OPUS_(software) and other "Digital library software". The software is the underlying base of more than 60 web applications, such as "The International Treasury of Islamic Manuscripts" http://www.manuscript-treasury.net/ or "LexM" http://www.lexm.uni-hamburg.de/. The MyCoRe web application "LexM" is the source of several citations in Wikipedia. Beyond that the software development of MyCoRe is continuously ongoing: the latest release version is 2016.06 (LTS), (see german version). -Mcruser (talk) 14:42, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

None of what you just listed actually helps to prove notability. Wikipedia requires multiple sources that are independent of the subject, discuss the subject at some length, and which have professional editorial oversight. Merely being used in other programs does not in and of itself confer notability. We're looking for professional software reviews here. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 17:50, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Mcruser: Jeremy is correct. I have restored the article as a contested WP:PROD, but it will likely not survive a deletion in WP:AFD if no significant coverage in independent reliable sources can be found. ~Amatulić (talk) 13:47, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Amatulic:, @Jéské Couriano: You are right. I added some references with articles, where MyCoRe is compared with other open source library software. Hope that is sufficient. ~ Mcruser (talk) 17:17, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Andras Jones

My wikipedia page appears to have been deleted because I am an "Actor with no significant roles in major films" and "Although he won a Young Artist Award in 1988, there's not much aside from that and my searches found nothing good with this 2002 Spin article being the best. SwisterTwister talk". It is an unenviable position in which to find one's self, having to contest such a discounting of one's career, but in almost 30 years in the entertainment business I have certainly experienced worse. In regard to the assertion of insignificance, the Nightmare on Elm Street series is one of, if not the most, successful horror franchise of all time, and I play a lead role in the 4th installment. I have also played the lead in other cult horror classics like "The Attic Expeditions", "Sorority Babes In The Slimeball Bowl-A-Rama" and the "Night Trap" video game. I have starred in films opposite Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Jason-Leigh and Viggo Mortensen, and played a beloved illiterate bully in "Saved By The Bell". All of this can be found on my IMDB page. As for the Young Artist Award from 1988, I won no such award although I may have been nominated. What I can report is that, beyond my work in film, I have had a book published "Accidental Initiations: In The Kabbalistic Tree of Olympia" (Sync Book Press 2012), recorded and released over ten albums with my band Mr. Jones & The Previous and solo (many of these songs have appeared in motion picture soundtracks), and I have created and produced The Radio8Ball Show since 1998. Radio8Ball has been covered on NPR's "All Things Considered", as well as in the pages of the LA Times, The Boston Globe and all of the major Seattle papers, so I'm surprised all your researcher could come up with was an award I didn't win in 1988.

Every year I attend horror conventions attended by thousands of fans of the horror genre in general and Nightmare on Elm Street in particular. While I appreciate that my endeavors as an author, musician and as the producer of the world's foremost musical divination show may not be deemed wiki-worth to some, it is an insult to the Nightmare series and its legions of fans to suggest that "The Dream Master" is not a major film or that the role of Rick Johnson is not significant.

I look forward to your decision on this matter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by R8B (talkcontribs) 20:38, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Andras Jones, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user MBisanz (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. It may be possible to restore this to a draft, so that the factual errors, and omissions can be rectified. But we can just do a summary override of the AFD discussion here. To do that there must be another formal discussion. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:29, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ishita Ganguly (TV Actress)

Please note Ishita is a well known actress in Hindi Television in India. She has done well known Hindi serials like Shastri Sisters, where she was the main lead, than she did Tu Mera Hero and lately Ishq Ka Rang Safed. As a new user of Wikipedia,i Would love if you could tell me where i was wrong and how to change and make it the way wikipedia accepts the page rather than deleting it.Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shilam singh (talkcontribs) 00:38, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Shilam singh: It looks like this was redirected to the article for Shastri Sisters per this AfD, so you'd need to talk to UtherSRG about recreation. Offhand what you'll need to do is show where her roles in the other productions are notable. You can do this by showing where she's received coverage in places like newspapers and something that might help is that this coverage doesn't have to be in English - it can be in Hindi as well. Offhand here are some of the sourcing I found: [6], [7], [8], [9], [10]. I'm actually going to take a copy of this into my userspace for the both of us to work on, since there looks like there could be a good argument for overturning the AfD here, especially since India sourcing can be difficult to find unless you know where to look, as Google doesn't always bring back all results - especially if you're only searching in English. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:19, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've started an article here. Offhand the biggest issue is that there's a ton of coverage for her work in Shastri Sisters, but not much for anything other than that. If you can find 1-3 lengthy sources that discuss her work in her most recent TV shows, that'd be really helpful in establishing independent notability now. I'm also going to ask for help at WP:INDIA. Draft:Badger Maps

I, Jack Willow, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Jack W. 06:05, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

  • Done - as an Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13, the page has been restored on request. Please edit the page to address the issues raised when it was declined, and re-submit it; "Articles for creation" is not for the indefinite hosting of material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:48, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I noted on the talk page that you would not be doing any work yourself, rather that other editors would. That concerns me since there's no declaration from the other editors at all (ie, we can't guarantee that they'd actually work on it) and I need to note that if this isn't worked on and the article gets G13'd again, it's unlikely that this would be restored a second time. I am requesting undeletion on the referenced article and here are my reasons:

1. The update(re-edit) to that article was my own original work. I never copied it, however the real cause of deletion was never mentioned or rather articulated to me. 2. My sources were very reliable and solid sources which include the American Bar Association, A book by and many other articles from leading newspapers in Zimbabwe and Southern Africa. 3. This was a complete re-edit of the article and I had requested that the article be reviewed again after the update.

I really feel that the Administrator must revise or re-check the article and its sources and bring to my attention anything I missed. In the stead the administartor simply noted to me that the article "must be deleted for a variety of reasons".

  • The article was deleted because it was written in promotional style. Perhaps you could have asked User:DGG about this as he was the one who deleted it. Perhaps you can ask him for this to be made into a draft so that the tone can be changed. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:44, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Universal trinity

Sandstein closed DRV and just declined at User talk:Sandstein#Your userfication omission of Universal trinity to userfy the deleted article with “your confused message above indicates that it would be unlikely to produce good content”. It was not a confused message and the supposition of probable bad content apparently comes from a supposition that any changes of how clear and obvious truth about the universal trinity is presented beyond only narrating metaphoric stories mentioned in Rule of three (writing) would also too unpredictably change how people balance between the reviewable complex and the unknown, but the present religious conflicts and the dualism between democracy and islam show how objectively and clearly we should treat every basic matter associated with religion. The article also seems to contain possible extensions for article Trichotomy (philosophy) so I request userfication. -MathLine (talk) 13:07, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The page was speedy deleted as blatant hoax, and this was endorsed at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2016 June 27. I don't feel good about restoring hoaxes, even to userspace. MathLine may well mean well, but the tone of their messages ("clear and obvious truth about the universal trinity") indicates that they are not here to write neutral, reliably-sourced articles.  Sandstein  13:34, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not done No need to override a WP:DRV discussion. Wikiversity may appreciate original contributions. Wikipedia is not the place for it. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:29, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
In view of Wikipedia:Arguments to avoid in deletion reviews#Arguments without arguments DRV discussions with given detailed arguments for userfication of course cannot simply become overridden and I also don't see any given refund at Wikiversity at present! WP:Civility also includes that we distinguish between totally originally invented ideas and derived parallelisms only missing the last millimeter of source material, right? --MathLine (talk) 16:09, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not done We won't restore an article created by a blocked/banned user - you have to ask the deleting admin for permission. However it might be too soon for an article since it doesn't look like this has aired yet. If you can show enough coverage to establish notability and that filming has commenced, it might pass notability guidelines but until then this will remain deleted. A good first step for all of this would be to start an article at WP:AfC and then contact one of the deleting admins, since just requesting a restoration under these circumstances is unlikely to end with the page getting restored to the mainspace. AirMyPC

Title AirMyPC exists in this wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AirPlay as an AirPlay Mirroring Client -Wampw (talk) 12:59, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't clear exactly what you want done here. AirMyPC is a properly-deleted redirect, because we don't redirect from main space to draft space. AirPlay is a different article. ~Amatulić (talk) 21:01, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Wampw, it looks like the article was moved to AfC because it wasn't ready for the main space. From what I can see at Draft:AirMyPC, the article had issues with sourcing and tone, both of which are things that need to be addressed. You can still edit and improve the article at AfC. Now as far as the AirPlay article goes, being mentioned on another page doesn't mean that this particular piece of software is independently notable, as notability is WP:NOTINHERITED by any association with other notable software, items, or companies. In the case of this software, it looks like it's a program developed independently of Apple, meaning that it's not Apple software, so it really wouldn't inherit any notability in this case. To be honest, it's kind of debatable whether or not it should be mentioned on the AirPlay article since ideally the article should only mention notable instances of third party software that works with AirPlay. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:17, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • The reason for this is that there can be dozens upon dozens of third party software for any given thing, so it's not really feasible to list each one. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:19, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Secondly the administrator that deleted it said it sounded salesy and it was not promotional in any way and no different from other articles on public figures, i was only on my first pass free writing the article on the fly and in my writing process i first write everything out, then do several passes to correct all text so it is only factual and only once i have it edited to read correctly then i start inserting all the references and citations, which is why created it in draft in the first place and in fact that is exactly what draft is for and is well within your TOS and instruction for creating an Article in Draft, it is supposed to give the author time to write it, perfect it and ask other people to proof read it to ensure it is within wikipedia guidelines, which is exactly what my plan was and what i was doing. so for all of the reasons above I request to have the page Draft: Alex P Thorn undeleted and restored in draft or a space where i can continue to work on it and ask other people to review it as well and comment to me to fix or change certain things i may have overlooked. thank you Ronfleishman (talk) 20:20, 8 July 2016 (UTC) -Ronfleishman (talk) 20:20, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Ronfleishman: As far as I can tell, the promotional tone comes from liberal use of unsubstantiated subjective terms, combined with lack of citations to reliable sources, and as such it wouldn't be acceptable in main article space. It looks like a work in progress to me, so perhaps deleting it was premature.
Unfortunately, since it was deleted as promotional in accordance with WP:CSD#G11, it isn't eligible for restoration by request here. Please contact the deleting administrator at User talk:DGG and inform him that this was still a work in progress, and you would like it restored to draft space, or userfied to your user space, so that you can continue working on it. ~Amatulić (talk) 21:07, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Ronfleishman: I was writing a reply, but was called away. I have emailed you a copy of the text, since you do not have one.

I got it and just replied before i saw your reply here, thanks for sending that , ok i will try to leave a message for talk:DGG , i think i already did but got no response. thanks again 190.219.146.35 (talk) 21:59, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think that another reason why the draft was considered promotional is explained by your comments on the talk page, including the statement that Mr Thorn "has been badly maligned by all parties involved. I am merely setting the record straight" and your suspicion "that bill gates and microsoft own wikipedia and are trying to suppress the truth and farther interfere in Alex's rights and business to disadvantage him in the open market."
No, Wikipedia is not in the pay of Bill Gates, but nor is it here to Right Great Wrongs or provide a platform for people who want to sue Microsoft to set out their case. WP:Neutral point of view is a basic policy.
If you are Mr Thorn, or are editing on his behalf, you have from Wikipedia's point of view a WP:Conflict of interest, and should read that page and the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide.
More advice on your talk page tomorrow. JohnCD (talk) 21:44, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@JohnCD: no i am not writing it on his behalf, i became aware of him when i was speaking at a function in Los Angeles about making movies and he was in the News Paper at the time. I met him and we discussed everything that happened and we discussed making the movie i got a lot of background information back then, i have been verifying what he told me to ensure we could make the movie, absolutely 100% has been verified and is 100% accurate.

so much was done to him and i may have flew off the handle, my bad 190.219.146.35 (talk) 22:11, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sana Shahnawaz

The article is about a television producer and a fashion designer, the page was deleted due to the lack of notability as this the producer first tv project, but producer itself wasn't an unknown individual. More sources are now available with the success of producer's project. So i request to restore the page, otherwise i would have to go through from beginning. -Muhammad Faizan Naeem 04:57, 9 July 2016 (UTC)

  • Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sana Shahnawaz, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Coffee (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:05, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@YoshiFan155: what you uploaded was deleted because there wasn't any image in it. It consisted of [[Image:Mario64dscourtyardlwm.jpg|right|thumb|Wario, Mario, and Luigi stand in the courtyard outside of the castle.]]. That is the code you would use to place the image in an article, if it existed, but it was deleted (eight years ago) because it did not meet the requirements of WP:NFCC.
File:Fattymariosm64ds.jpg was deleted (nearly ten years ago) because it was an unused fair-use image.
If these images are restored, you will have to add Fair Use Rationales explaining how they meet all ten requirements of WP:NFCCP. Can you do that? If not, they will just be deleted again. JohnCD (talk) 20:47, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User:Believeingood/sandbox/R.B. Walsh (Risteárd Breathnach) · ( talk | logs | links | watch ) · [revisions] I believe the page was deleted because it had not been re-submitted since its creation in December. It was rejected at that time because of lack of 3rd party references. I have added them now and apart from some modifications that I will need help with, like uploading a photo, editing the title name and creating a re-direct, the page is ready for re-submission. Women in Red meetup articles created by Fouetté rond de jambe en tournant

These were speedied as created by a sockpuppet, but they were done as part of requested articles from the Women in Red project. Looking at Stefi Baum and Judith Young (astronomer), which were saved before deleting, they are likely to be OK, and at least looked at before deleting. StarryGrandma (talk) 23:50, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Done - My philosophy on articles deleted under G5 is that if an editor in good standing requests that the articles be undeleted, that editor is willing to take responsibility for the content, and the blocked editor wasn't blocked over content issues (and the articles in question aren't otherwise problematic), I'm willing to undelete them; while I understand the logic behind deterring blocked editors, I don't see why we have to get rid of content that good editors are willing to vouch for. StarryGrandma, since you requested the undeletion, I'll leave it to you to vouch for the content of the articles; they all look fine to me (as they're not particularly long), but since astronomy isn't really my area of expertise I'd rather not vouch for the content myself. If you're unwilling to vouch for any of the articles upon review, let me know and I'll re-delete them. TheCatalyst31 ReactionCreation 00:53, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Page has been deleted by admin as being being too promotional, however as the page is now deleted it's impossible to verify this, or indeed improve the page and replace the offending text with verifiable information. The admin suggests that all of the text was derived from a press release, however the page itself isn't new and is referenced from a number of other pages so could this have instead been from an edit copying and pasting from the institute's own website? One of the images shows Tom flying and the other shows Jerry is a fair use for me. YoshiFan155 (talk) 01:59, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-administrator comment) Hi YoshiFan155. Do you understand the difference between freely licensed and non-free content/fair use when it comes to using images on Wikipedia? The former can be used pretty much in any way as long as it complies with WP:IUP, but each usage of the latter must satisfy all 10 of the non-free content criteria listed in WP:NFCCP in addition to the IUP. You previously requested the undeletion of File:Tom & Jerry-Piano Concerto.jpg above in Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion#File:Tom & Jerry-Piano Concerto.jpg and it was undeleted per your request by Graeme Bartlett. You also requested the undeletion of File:LonesomeMouse2.jpg and File:LonesomeMouse4.jpg in Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion#File:LonesomeMouse2.jpg and File:LonesomeMouse4.jpg, and these were also undeleted by Graeme Bartlett. However, each of these files has already been tagged for speedy deletion per WP:F5 because they are not being used in any articles.
You have made quite a number of other deletion requests both here and on the user talk pages of other editors, but it's not clear how you're intending to incorporate these non-free images into any articles. You say I want to work on them like you did here and here, but it's not clear what that exactly means. Perhaps, it would be best for you to concentrate on "working on" one non-free image at a time because if you try to do too many at once, they are just going to end up being deleted once again. Wikipedia is not intended to be a repository for image files, and will not host these files forever if they are not being used in accordance with WP:NFCC. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:46, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is a page on an important Spanish anatomist who first discovered that the entire ventricular myocardium exists as a single band of muscle helically wrapped around extending from the pulmonary artery to the aorta. This architectural description is the basis to understand strain ultrasound imaging and more. there was a page called Francisco torrent-guasp, but it is not worth restoring, the largest content was talk only thus:
I am in full agreement that I do not fully understand the contributions made by Francisco Torrent-Guasp to the larger world of cardiovascular physiology. I think you need to understand that his contributions are well embraced by the Spanish medical community, especially those reading Wikipedia. I do not seek to create an article; just a merger between Spanish and English Wiki.--lbeben 01:24, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

So I am supporting Jo-Jo Eumerus's suggestion to create a new translation. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:44, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think the IP may be Lbeben. Lbeben, you can request an article at Wikipedia:Requested articles, as this is the proper way to request an article on Wikipedia. Posting a request on where the article might be placed won't really accomplish much and will just be speedy deleted. I'll be honest in that there's an enormous backlog on the request pages and the best option is to just translate the article yourself, as the wait for the article's translation and creation could be indefinite.
