Information icon Hello. Some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Just Give Me a Reason, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and/or verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 07:19, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of The Original Hamburger Stand

Hello Fryboy Editor,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Original Hamburger Stand for deletion in response to your request.

If you didn't intend to make such a request and don't want the article to be deleted, you can edit the page and remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Non-free rationale for File:Tuesday Morning logo.svg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Tuesday Morning logo.svg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — JJMC89(T·C) 18:38, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Rockabye (song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page EDM. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:05, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Dominator (ride) into Rocket (Lagoon). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 23:17, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Rocket Lagoon.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://flickr.com/photos/edgarzuniga/3792281677. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Control copyright icon Hello Fryboy Editor! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 00:12, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Renfroe's Markets

Hello, Fryboy Editor, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Meatsgains, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Renfroe's Markets, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Renfroe's Markets.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Meatsgains}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Do not revert users without explanation

Hello. Why, as you are an editor who primarily edits articles about amusement parks, food and supermarkets, are you editing an article like Oh My God (Adele song) and reverting me without explanation? Don't do this. It would make me think that you are the editor Spiceislandseabird editing under another account. The editor who introduced the edit was reverted per WP:BRD, so the next step is to go to the article talk page and discuss the edit. If you do not understand that genres need to be described as more of an "influence" or "inspiration" to a song to be included in the infobox, you should not be reverting people over it. Thank you. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. rsjaffe 🗩 🖉 03:58, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing certain namespaces ((Article) and Draft) for copyright violations.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Moneytrees🏝️Talk/CCI guide 04:03, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

Fryboy Editor (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I am just trying to give articles a good history and everybody attacks me and it really just ticks me off. Do I write it in my own words? You never told me how I should update the history. This block is quite unfair. Wikipedia is my life and you guys trying to take it away breaks my heart. And IM NOT AUTOBLOCKED!

Notes:

  • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
  • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:

{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=I am just trying to give articles a good history and everybody attacks me and it really just ticks me off. Do I write it in my own words? You never told me how I should update the history. This block is quite unfair. Wikipedia is my life and you guys trying to take it away breaks my heart. And IM NOT AUTOBLOCKED! |3 = ~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}} with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

{{unblock reviewed |1=I am just trying to give articles a good history and everybody attacks me and it really just ticks me off. Do I write it in my own words? You never told me how I should update the history. This block is quite unfair. Wikipedia is my life and you guys trying to take it away breaks my heart. And IM NOT AUTOBLOCKED! |decline = {{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here with your rationale:

{{unblock reviewed |1=I am just trying to give articles a good history and everybody attacks me and it really just ticks me off. Do I write it in my own words? You never told me how I should update the history. This block is quite unfair. Wikipedia is my life and you guys trying to take it away breaks my heart. And IM NOT AUTOBLOCKED! |accept = accept reason here ~~~~}}

You have received 1 2 3 4 5 6 warnings for copyright violations, with the sixth one being labeled a final warning. The above section regarding this edit to Big 5 Sporting Goods, where you added four paragraphs copied from https://www.big5sportinggoods.com/store/company/History, shows to me that you still do not have adequate understanding of copyright. Because of this, I am blocking you- I have no personal issue with you, it's just that my duty as an admin is to protect the encyclopedia from harmful edits. Yes, you need to write all content in your own words- you cannot copy from other websites, and if you copy between Wikipedia pages, you must make of note of it in the edit summary. If you want to be unblocked, you must commit to not copying from sources and commit to attributing when copying content between articles. Moneytrees🏝️Talk/CCI guide 04:22, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I promise I won't copyright anymore but how can I commit to attribute when I'm blocked? If you want you can unblock me right now and I'll just stick to updated or fixing infoboxes if that makes you happy.
