I do not have any way to provide the subject's notability according to Wikipedia rules.
Do I need to delete all reference to Giant Wholesale Grocery Corporation on Wikipedia?
Lewiswhaley (talk) 10:11, 19 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Lewiswhaley: I took a quick look for references myself and it seems that this grocer is lacking in reliable sources. That means it does not currently meet Wikipedia's corporate notability standards. But you don't have to delete the article or references to the grocer in other articles. It's a draft and others are welcome to work on it if they can find sourcing. After 6 months of inactivity, the article may be deleted. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks, /wia /tlk /cntrb 12:18, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

Draft:International Project Management Association (IPMA)
Hi, I hope I am doing doing it right. first time user, still learning. I am writing in reference to the rejected draft article on International Project Management Association (IPMA) . I believe I understand the reference issue. I am collecting as many reference as possible. it is more challenging as expected as IPMA is a non profit organisation and most of the source (even the standards) are free and downloadable from their website itself. The fact that IPMA is constituted by member association across the world, if I cross reference them as reference in the article, would that be sufficient? Any other advices are welcomed. Many thanks. Cznal (talk) 18:27, 19 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Cznal: Hi, and thanks for inquiring here. You're most definitely welcome to use references found on the Web in your article (Draft:International Project Management Association (IPMA)). However, Wikipedia articles need references in order to be notable, and the types of references required to show notability are those that are reliable, independent, and sources that offer significant coverage of the subject. A good place to look is in reputable newspapers or journals. For instance, if the Guardian or the New York Times has articles discussing the IPMA, that would go a long way. Referencing member associations can help substantiate individual claims in the article, but for notability purposes you will need references with substantive content, not just passing mention of the subject.
- Let me know if you need any further guidance! Thanks, /wia /tlk /cntrb 18:31, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for the review. Bocșa mentions ' Deutsch-Bokschan, Neuwerk' as the German name, Icebreakers of Germany has a redlink for a vessel under that name. And an extended search in enwiki shows most of the other Neuwerk's of this list. I have only selected those that show up in Wikidata or a causing common issues like in the current VIAF entry for Neuwerk (G). Additonally I translated Great Tower Neuwerk from German. Please reconsider and let me know if there is anything else missing. --Aeroid (talk) 21:39, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

Cont. Draft:Spireon
Hi Wikiisawesome! Thank you for your helpful commentary. I was wondering if you might find these sources notable then?
1) http://www.ccjdigital.com/power-on-trailer-tracking-systems-are-beating-the-odds/ It's not a press release, but a journalist wrote about Spireon in a journal called Commercial Carrier Journal.
2) http://www.ocregister.com/articles/meade-509489-company-based.html I can use this to reference the location of Spireon in Irvine, CA?
3) http://www.cutimes.com/2014/05/02/piloting-service-to-subprime-borrowers I can use this to say that Spireon does loan servicing solutions.
--Lambao.truong (talk) 17:32, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Lambao.truong: Hi, I took a look at these references and they are better than the current ones in terms of reliability, as it appears that all three sites have some sort of editorial board policy. However, they don't have a lot of content, and I'm not quite convinced that they have enough content about the company to demonstrate notability. I'd suggest adding those sources, looking around for more content that discusses Spireon in depth, and resubmitting. Another reviewer will be along in the coming days with a fresh pair of eyes to accept the article or to guide you further. Keep in mind that the article Spireon has been deleted before, so you will need to overcome the hurdles mentioned in the previous deletion discussion with respect to sourcing. Thanks, /wia /tlk /cntrb 22:13, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

I am trying to figure out what else I need to do to get my page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:USA_Masters_Diving approved. As far as notability we are similar in scope to US Masters Swimming which already has a wiki page. I believe I have referenced our page in a similar manner, but I could be wrong. (We are not the same organization as our rules and meets are for the most part separate from each other). Most of my information comes from historical documentation which unfortunately is on our site (mastersdiving.org). I apologize for the trouble, but I am trying to do this right.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Rich
Rwasson99 (talk) 02:16, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Rwasson99: Hi, thanks for inquiring here; it's no trouble. In general, you need to find reliable, independent (third-party) sources that discuss the subject in significant detail in order to show notability. While primary sources like the USA Masters Diving website do contain some information, it is by the organization and thus doesn't offer objectively independent content about the organization. That's why we require that articles rely on third-party sources that have in-depth coverage of the organization. I took a look through the references that have been added; some of them are just lists of upcoming competitions, which don't say anything about USA Masters Diving. Don't get me wrong—those types of references can be useful for content later on, but they don't demonstrate notability, which has to be shown in order for an article to be accepted.
- I see that you've resubmitted the draft, so while you wait for another reviewer to take a look in the coming days, keep looking for reputable sources to add. Journals, magazines and newspapers are a good place to look. If you have further questions, you're also welcome to ask at the Articles for Creation Help Desk. Hello, I was wandering why the Star Wars Wikia is not reliable. Just like Wikipedia, users are required to cite information and even when an edit is made, it is usually checked over and/or revised. I also added more sources besides that Wikia. Give it a look over?
- @JLanzer: Hi, thanks for inquiring here. Wikis like Wikia are not considered reliable sources because anyone can edit them. You're allowed to use the reference cited in a Wikia article, provided that those references are themselves reliable sources, but the text in a Wikia article is not generally considered reliable. You can read about this policy at WP:USERG. I've excerpted a bit of it here:
“ | Anyone can create a personal web page or publish their own book, and also claim to be an expert in a certain field. For that reason self-published media—whether books, newsletters, personal websites, open wikis, blogs, personal pages on social networking sites, Internet forum postings, or tweets—are largely not acceptable. This includes any website whose content is largely user-generated, including the Internet Movie Database (IMDB), CBDB.com, content farms, collaboratively created websites such as wikis, and so forth, with the exception of material on such sites that is labeled as originating from credentialed members of the sites' editorial staff, rather than users. | ” |
- I usually don't review articles more than once in the interests of fairness. I see you've resubmitted it and another reviewer should be along in the coming days for another look. I'm looking forward to the movie myself! /wia /tlk /cntrb 02:00, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi thanks for taking the time to review my article. I have rewritten the section on pharmaceuticals and was wondering if you'd have time to take a second look. I'm mainly worried about the list of products they manufacture because it is still a pretty straight copy from the company website. Do you have any suggestions on how things like product lists can be rewritten to conform to guidelines? Nrhewa (talk) 23:28, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Nrhewa: Hi, thanks for inquiring here. I took another look for copyright issues and everything except the list of products, as you mentioned, seems to have been taken care of. One way you could rephrase it is "Lina manufactures a variety of sprays, drops and syrups" or something to that effect, followed by a citation to the source. That informs the reader of the products without having to list them verbatim. /wia /tlk /cntrb 03:07, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi, the material that you claim is copyrighted is actually in reverse; that website has taken the copy from the fund that I am trying to create the page about - please can you reverse your deletion?
IMilligan15 (talk) 09:27, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- @IMilligan15: Hi, thanks for asking! Only administrators can restore deleted articles, and I'm unfortunately I'm not an administrator. To find out the administrator who deleted the article, just type in the exact name of your draft in the search bar, including any prefix (like Draft: or User:, if there was one). You should see a red box at the top of the screen that indicates which administrator deleted the article. You can ask them on their talk page.
- If the deletion was due to copyright issues, you probably won't be able to get the draft restored, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Thanks, /wia /tlk /cntrb 11:43, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- Ah, I see that the draft was Draft:Dementia Discovery Fund and was deleted by User:NawlinWiki. Since it was deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, I don't think he or she will restore the content for you. You're welcome to ask at their talk page, of course, but I think the best course of action would be to start writing a new version of the article that doesn't violate Wikipedia's copyright policies. The ITTF is an independent Federation-they are not sponsored by the WSA or something like that. Why is an artiicle from them about the WSA not reliable? Also ORF is the Austrian Broadcaster- they wrote articles about us-what is the problem there??
Why do you think WSA is not notable? It is not just a company-it is one of the most important table tennis centers worldwide-respected in China where table tennis is the national sport and all around the world as well. Guests from all continents have practiced in the WSA over the last 5 years. 26 languages are spoken here permanently. So many table tennis players that have Wikipedia Articles are training in the Academy. I put links to their sites in the article.
On the german Wikipedia site-the WSA has an article since long ago!!! See here: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werner_Schlager_Academy
- Hi, thanks for inquiring here. When I reviewed the draft, the ITTF references were not yet in the document, so I couldn't assess the article based on those references. You're always welcome to resubmit when you have addressed the concerns mentioned in the review!
- Notability means something different on Wikipedia than it does in the dictionary. You can read about it at WP:N. The simplest way to put it is that we require that topics have received "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". There are also some special notability rules for organizations, federations and the like. When I reviewed the article, it only had one link—to a primary source that does not meet the notability rules I mentioned above. More references just might do the trick.
- It's also worth noting that different language Wikipedias have different standards. The English and German Wikipedia standards on notability do not necessarily align, so topics on one site might not necessarily be suitable for the other.
- If you have any other questions about Wikipedia, creating articles, or working on your draft, there are a few places you can ask. I'm happy to help however I can, the Teahouse is a great place for new editors, and the Articles for Creation Help Desk may also be of some use if you have specific draft-related questions. @Novitas315: Okay, now it seems like there are two separate drafts on the go: Draft:PDC Capital Group and Draft:PDC Capital Group (2). You only need to work on one at a time. If you're happy with the draft, you can resubmit by adding {{subst:submit}} to your draft. I'd suggest working a bit more on the referencing first, however, as it seems like there still aren't enough reliable sources discussing the company. - @Wikiisawesome: Right, I'm also trying to delete Draft:PDC Capital Group (2) how do I do that? About the sources, I suppose you are referring to the California Newswire site. I thought that was a reliable news source. I'm trying to find others, but having trouble doing so.
- @Novitas315: If you'd like to delete Draft:PDC Capital Group (2), just add {{Db-g7}} to the draft. As for the sources, the California Newswire one looks okay, but I'm not sold on the Don Nay, Vimeo, Emilio Francisco or Iloveprimo sources. - @Novitas315: I just got the change to take a look. The problem with using the Emilio Francisco site for notability purposes is that it's a primary source. To be clear, once you've established notability, primary sources can be used sparingly, but they don't help establish notability itself.
- If you're happy with the draft, you can resubmit it for review and another reviewer will come along to offer their feedback. (I try to let others be involved when there are re-reviews involved.) I think you could probably expand the part about the EB-5 visa process a bit, as that seems like the most notable thing about the firm. /wia /tlk /cntrb 23:49, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

This is a really bad decision.
Ilkley RFC is in the same league (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_League_3_North) as other clubs and they all have wikipedia pages. Surely this means they are notable?
Also you will find lots of the other clubs don't have independent sources.
Please reconsider.
- Hi, and thanks for inquiring here. Notability means something specific on Wikipedia; it isn't the same as the usual dictionary definition. What it really gets at is whether the subject has been covered in depth in reliable, independent (third-party) sources. There are further notability rules for sports teams here. However, we don't make exceptions about notability merely because other stuff exists on Wikipedia. Sometimes articles can slip through the cracks, and if we compared every new article to an existing one, this could result in a lowering of Wikipedia's standards. Instead, we have to compare new articles to Wikipedia's policies, like the notability policy I mentioned above.
- I'd encourage you to read the links and inquire at the Articles for Creation Help Desk if you have further questions. Thanks, /wia /tlk /cntrb 13:40, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
Ok, please can you explain to my why EVERY single team in that league appears on wikipedia? Why is EVERY single one notable except Ilkley? Do you have an indepth knowledge of rugby in Yorkshire? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.100.131.98 (talk) 17:55, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
- Again, I'd encourage you to read more about what must be referenced in order to demonstrate the notability of sports teams at WP:ORG. If you have further questions, you're welcome to seek a re-review or ask at the Articles for Creation Help Desk. /wia /tlk /cntrb 18:11, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

Request on 23:20:00, 25 October 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by TheBlackCavalier
Hello Wikiisawesome,
Thanks for your comments. I have used the Wiki page "Azincourt (novel)" as my guide and have included references to people and events that occurred in history. There is no such referencing on the Azincourt page hence I do not understand the reason for the rejection.
TheBlackCavalier (talk) 23:20, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
- @TheBlackCavalier: Hi, thanks for inquiring here, and sorry about the wait; today's been a busy day! Sometimes it can be helpful to use an existing Wikipedia article as a guide for a new one. Unfortunately it doesn't always work because some articles tend to slip through the cracks here on Wikipedia. The Azincourt article is in my opinion not very well drafted, as there are no real references about the book (aside from a quick one-sentence mention in a source), and the whole article is basically a plot summary, which Wikipedia strives to avoid in its articles. For the Cavalier Club draft you've been working on, the book's notability can be demonstrated by fulfilling one or more of the criteria at WP:BKCRIT. Usually finding several non-trivial independent published reviews of the book is the easiest way to do so. If you can find such reviews and cite them in the article, that should demonstrate notability. Let me know if you have further questions; as always, you're welcome to ask at the Articles for Creation Help Desk too. They're quite helpful there too! /wia /tlk /cntrb 00:28, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
18:40:12, 26 October 2015 review of submission by Rkumargeo
I hope the references added to the draft satisfies the requirements. Pls. advise .
- @Rkumargeo: The problem I see with the references is that they are still mostly primary sources, which usually don't help show notability. Some of the external links could theoretically be used as references if they support any of the claims made in the body of the draft. I did a quick search and it seems like finding high-quality secondary references containing substantive content on this topic might be tricky. Keep at it though, and feel free to check in at the Articles for Creation Help Desk or the Teahouse if you have any questions. Thanks! /wia /tlk /cntrb 00:37, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

This was not a new entry on a new or duplicate subject, it is an update of The MacDuffie school entry due to the fact that the school was sold and moved to another town. There have been many changes in our school and the updated statement should reflect these changes, updates and growth. Please reconsider replacing the older incorrect and irrelevant information. Thank you.
- @Mis.reid: They appear to me to be the same school—they even have the same website. I guess I'm unclear on how can they be different schools? Further, if you are somehow related to the school in question, you should read Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy, as we strongly discourage COI editing. Draft: First Order (Star Wars)
Hello it's me again. I would like to inform you that my intentions for my article Draft: First Order (Star Wars) were to get it accepted in hopes that other users would add to it. I feel, and with all do respect Wikiisawesome, that you declined my article for the wrong reason(s); "The new Star Wars film hasn't been released yet, so much of the content of this draft appears speculative. Sections like 'Much like the old Empire, the First Order employed the services of Force-sensitives' appear to be based on guesses from the trailers." Anyone who is a Star Wars fan knows that Lego has First Order products that almost to that of the Galactic Empire, except the first order has different liveries from the Empire. Now as for the sources, I can add more if necessary, but other than that I'd say my article is ready to be accepted. JLanzer (talk) 23:47, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- @JLanzer: Hi, thanks for following up here. The article will be expanded over time, particularly once the film is released, yes. I see that Samtar has move the article to the mainspace, so congrats on the acceptance! /wia /tlk /cntrb 14:35, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Request on 01:41:14, 27 October 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by TheBlackCavalier
Hello again Wikiisawesome, Your additional comments are welcome. In view of the fact that the Wiki page "Azincourt - novel" sets a precedent, I request that my draft be approved. Additionally, I have cited a handful of references throughout the text as the publication follows the history of the period - indeed is written around the history of the time. Furthermore, gratis copies of the book have already been sent for review to a number of notable authors (of this genre of Historical Fiction, Saul David & Simon Scarrow) and to the Historical Novel Society in the UK. I would have loved to have Bernard Cornwell's review but he simply doesn't do them. This can/will take some time, so I would be pleased to add them to my approved article as they come in at that time. Thanks and looking for your support.
TheBlackCavalier (talk) 01:41, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- @TheBlackCavalier: Hi, sorry for the delayed response; I've been busy off-wiki over the past few days. Unfortunately, we can't accept an article by comparison to another; WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS essentially indicates that other articles don't necessarily set binding precedents on Wikipedia. Rather, what is binding is the general rules of notability like those found at WP:BKCRIT. As you can see at Azincourt (novel), I've tagged the article with some of its problems; thank you for bringing those to my attention.
- Once the reviews of the book have been published, you can add them to the article and then resubmit the draft for re-review. I am not comfortable accepting the draft until the criteria listed at WP:BKCRIT are fulfilled in the draft. You're welcome to resubmit it and have another reviewer assess the draft, but I don't think it will be accepted just yet. Let me know if you have other questions or concerns. Thanks, /wia /tlk /cntrb 14:40, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

And then I could press the Button Hello World*. However, if I press the button, the window with the same message appears again. I couldn't to anything. I tried this severel times and now my Talk Page is spammed. Do you know why this game does not work for me? Am I doing anything wrong?

Thank you for your feedback. When it comes to closely paraphrasing, there is only so much you can do when the information is data-based and straight forward. I prefer not to "fluff up" information that doesn't need to be added to, just to put it into my own words. I have made sure to properly cite where the info was received. I could include more direct quotes, but that means that there will be a lot of direct quotes in the article, which is not suggested. Please advise. Thank you.
- @TeamWiredEMBA: Yes, it is a bit of a tricky situation. I'd suggest doing your best at rephrasing where you can. It's alright to have some quotes, but if the quotes are a whole paragraph long, that's probably excessive.
- I find it helpful to close the document and rephrase it without looking at the original. That forces you to think with your "own" words, rather than the ones from the original source. Give it a shot and see how it goes! Let me know if you have any other questions. /wia /tlk 06:37, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Anent the Pale of Calais was in Flanders NOT France
It is constructive. The Pale of Calais was in Flanders NOT France. Other than English, they spoke Dutch (and still do in parts). Have the decency to look this up. Whatever happens there has to be an whole heap more and trustworthy citations. PS are you kansas bear?
EDIT if think it would be more constructive if we talked things over on the Siege of Calais talkpage itself. Nothing to hide from the wider world have we?
- Certainly, we can discuss it there, per WP:BRD. My issue with the edit was solely "procedural", if you will; it was added in all capital letters and contradicted what was in the article. Thanks /wia /tlk 19:25, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

06:09:54, 9 November 2015 review of submission by Srsoltis
Hello. Please understand that I am inexperienced with editing Wikipedia articles.
The company DataPlow is referenced several places in the categories of SAN and clustered file systems. It is one of the older companies developing this type of file system. Information about the DataPlow file systems on Wikipedia is not completely accurate, and this page as well as the DataPlow SAN File System (SFS) page are attempts to resolves some of these issues. In my edits, I also changed the Nasan page (DataPlow's Nasan Clustered file system). For instance, the Nasan page mentions that Nasan was named after a city in Japan. This is not correct - Nasan = NAS + SAN = Network Attached Storage + Storage Area Network. Also, DataPlow did not license a modified version of Nasan with the Zetera technology but rather a modified version of SFS. Some users and reviewers have called DataPlow's SFS as SFS-FS.
As I understand the history page (remember, I'm new and inexperienced), portions of the Products section were removed because they appear to copied or paraphrased from DataPlow's product page. Do you have any recommendations how to convey this information?
The remaining portion of the Product section includes USPTO references and was created via numerous searches on the USPTO website to summarize patent numbers, filing dates, and issue dates. These links point to full US patents; the abstracts of these patents give some background to the actual products, but a link is probably better than fully quoting the abstracts. Plus, the patents are exactly the actually products.
The rest of the wiki includes background with respect to DataPlow, the University of Minnesota (GFS project), and DataPlow's relationship to Zetera. This information is unique and correct.
Please let me know if you have questions or concerns. Cheers.
- @Srsoltis: Thanks for dropping by. We all start somewhere, and I'm happy to help however I can. The previous issue was with some content that had been copied from the DataPlow website. Wikipedia takes copyright seriously, and so it's important to remember two things while writing and editing. The first is to always cite sources so you attribute content. The second is to avoid copying or even closely paraphrasing content from a copyrighted source. I personally wouldn't include much information about DataPlow's products unless they've been covered in reliable, independent (third-party) sources. Otherwise it ends up looking a bit like a promotion for the company.
- Now that the copyright issue's been taken care of, the problem with the draft, I think, is the issue of notability of the company. I'm not seeing why the company is notable just from this iteration of the draft. Most of the references are patents, which are primary sources that aren't sufficiently independent of the company to demonstrate notability. The key going forward is to find reliable, independent sources that offer substantial coverage of the company. Looking in newspapers, books, magazines and journals (whether online or offline) is a good place to start.:
Let me know if you have any other questions. And don't forget to sign your posts on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~) to identify yourself. Thanks! /wia /tlk 13:09, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

This page was created for a required assignment in the class 'Writing for Social Change', at NCCU. Based on changes made (by others) should I resubmit or try to rewrite the entire thing? I'm very confused.
The first big issue the PA worked on was the relocation of the 'Crest Street' neighborhood. Another classmate is trying to create it - I opted not to bc it is a HUGE topic and of great significance to Durham, civil rights of the underserved and oppressed as well as the overreach of the NCDOT and USDOT. One of the founders will most likely be our next mayor (who does not plan on running again), they have been instrumental in shaping the city through their activism. The politics of Crest Street changed the outcome of a huge section of 147. The NCDOT obliterated the historic African-American neighborhood of Hayti - the PA prevented it from happening again to Crest Street. Without them, the highway would have again obliterated another historic AA neighborhood (it was located in a part of Durham known as 'Hickstown' - an over 100 year old neighborhood).
I also have to link it to the 'North Carolina Highway 147' page. The page is written very poorly with incorrect history as well as broken citations 3, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16. It is unclear where the information for citation #4 is located. Citations 6, 7, 8 can only be accessed by purchasing them through the Herald Sun website. Citation 12 references a construction start date of March 2015, when it didn't actually start until April 22 (http://www.wral.com/construction-on-durham-s-east-end-connector-to-begin-in-february/14599065/)
I am not a Wiki author - and most likely won't be again after this class. Some guidance is needed!!!! I thought I had written in an appropriate manner - clearly not. Kind regards, -felicia
- @Feliciakw: Hi, thanks for inquiring here. The issue with the draft was a copyright one. The copyrighted content has since been removed from the article. You're now welcome to continue working on the article! /wia /tlk 16:07, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Hey, I simply wanted to say I enjoy seeing your presence around here and am also happy you reconsidered your retirement from June. I started thinking it was interesting you've been here almost ten years yet I had never seen you but I noticed you started becoming more active in January (before I returned from an extended break). I myself have basically been here almost ten years and have seen a variety of events here which also caused me to leave (especially in late 2012) until returning in April. I myself have been witnessing drama here recently and I consider retiring again but I simply hope for the best. Cheers from the United States, SwisterTwister talk 08:36, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

I created my account many years ago but only became active in the past year or so when I discovered behind-the-scenes stuff like AfC and the disambiguation project. Hello, great job with this months dab-competition. I belive we are the ones currently quite tied for third place so far, and I just wanted to wish you best of luck! :D (t) Josve05a (c) 20:50, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Josve05a: Nice to meet you formally! Good luck with the competition. Hopefully we both make it into the top 3! /wia /tlk 21:12, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, hopefully we will. First time I'm in the dab challenge, so would be a nice start. (t) Josve05a (c) 10:43, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
Disambiguate page
There is a proposal for Chandrala (disambiguation) already placed, referrnig to this edit. If that is created, can we redirect that to disambig page?--Vin09 (talk) 15:44, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Vin09: Hi, good question! I don't think either Chandrala, Gudlavalleru mandal or Chandrala, Mylavaram mandal is the primary topic, so per WP:2DABS, it should be okay to have a disambiguation page. The content that is now at Draft:Chandrala (disambiguation) will have to be moved to Chandrala when accepted, which will require an administrator to delete the current Chandrala page. Someone at AfC will take care of this when they review the draft. Hope that makes sense! /wia /tlk 15:54, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Wikiisawesome:But what about this edit.--Vin09 (talk) 15:57, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Vin09: I'm not sure why they are doing that. Perhaps they believe that Chandrala, Mylavaram mandal is the primary topic and thus should reside at "Chandrala". Have you asked them on their talk page? You might also try inquiring at WT:MOSDAB, where more knowledgeable people can weigh in. /wia /tlk 15:59, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- I had on his talk page. Thanks.--Vin09 (talk) 16:03, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

16:07:07, 17 November 2015 review of submission by Arkachatterjea
This is a "chicken and egg" problem: Sarat Chandra Chatterjee's work is unknown in the English speaking due to lack of English good translations, and lack of familiarity leads to his work being neglected and unknown. Encyclopedia Britannica (EB) notes "Perhaps first among novelists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries is Saratchandra Chatterjee, whose social concerns with the family and other homely issues made his work popular. But the early 20th century is certainly best known for the poet who towers head and shoulders above the rest, Rabindranath Tagore. Poet, playwright, novelist, painter, essayist, musician, social reformer,..." http://www.britannica.com/biography/Saratchandra-Chatterjee
One of India's top newspapers Indian Express reaffirms his eminence and celebrates some of his works http://indianexpress.com/article/india/remembering-sarat-chandra-chattopadhyay-the-awara-masiha-on-his-139th-birth-anniversary/
So, I don't know how to overcome this. Perhaps one or more editors (who knows Bengali) can take a look and say whether the summary is accurate or not. The source I give links to the original story (in Bengali)
- @Arkachatterjea: You may want to start by looking at the WP:NBOOK criteria. Although they do not specifically apply to short stories, they might be useful by analogy. Basically you'll need to find significant coverage of this short story from reliable sources. That can be from reviews, books, magazines, journals and the like. The problem with the Indian Express and Britannica pages is that they don't actually mention the short story. It is, as you say, a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem. If there's no coverage of the short story, then it's unfortunately not notable. (Another problem with the current incarnation of the draft is that it is basically just a plot summary.)
- You can, however, use sources from other languages. I can't read Bengali but there are users who do; perhaps they could be of assistance. Best of luck in tracking down sources for this short story. Thanks, /wia /tlk 16:17, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I believe I have made the edits you suggested. Please let me know if I should make more. Your guidance is appreciated! - Carla
- @Carlagates247: Hi, I think you need more sources that are independent of the subject. The cuinsight and bai.org sources are written by someone at Saylent, and the cuna.org source appears to be a press release. The other two sources (cbinsight and banknews) don't offer substantial coverage of Saylent either, so sources that offer more in-depth coverage will be required. Has Saylent been covered in any reputable newspapers, journals, books or magazines (whether offline or online)? That's usually a good place to start looking. Thanks, /wia /tlk 18:58, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

17:12:04, 19 November 2015 review of submission by Legog
Dear Wikiisawesome,
there is no paraphrasing in the article anymore. It is the same topic, but I've changed the content. It seems that you didn't check the submitted version. I would be very grateful if you could double-check the article, or show me which part is paraphrased, it is hard to write something completely new in a biographical note.
Best regards, Legog
- @Legog: Hi, I've cleaned the draft of copyright issues, which is why you shouldn't find any paraphrasing issues in it right now. In the version I declined, there was some copying/close paraphrasing from here, including the sentences about "interventions in already existing films", "creative appropriation", "critical context", and "panoramic film projection". Thanks, /wia /tlk 17:15, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
Just an FYI, but I submitted that to AfC on behalf of the editor. He communicated through OTRS that he felt the draft was ready. I forgot to change the AFC tag to his username, so I got pinged. Anyway, I moved the relevant pings to User talk:David Schweickle. –Fredddie™ 01:01, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Fredddie: Oof, I'm sorry! Didn't mean to spam your talk page. Thank you for moving the messages over to the appropriate page. Cheers! /wia /tlk 01:06, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
- No worries –Fredddie™ 01:08, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
It does appear that there are glitches in the handling of edit conflicts on AFC review. You and I were evidently declining the draft at the same time for different reasons, you for copyvio and I for conflict of interest, and both the copyvio and the conflict of interest should be noted. This isn't the first time I have seen problems due to edit conflicts on AFC review. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:36, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Robert McClenon: Good to know; I'll be sure to check the page history after making edits in the future to check for potential conflicts. While we're here, I very much appreciate your work at AfC and the dispute resolution board! Cheers, /wia /tlk 01:44, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

The information was concerning the name change, not just previous history.
This restoration of the name is more relevant than the past history, and should by broadcast.
Spiritholy (talk) 15:14, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Spiritholy: Hi, thanks for dropping by. Since the Bay of the Holy Spirit is another name for the former Mobile Bay, you can discuss that its name changed at the Mobile Bay page. I think it would be confusing to have two different articles about the same bay. As for the relevance of names, I'd suggest discussing that on the Mobile Bay talk page. Thanks, /wia /tlk 15:16, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
Help needed at DRN
You are receiving this message because you are signed up as a volunteer at the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. We have a number of pending requests which need a volunteer to address them. Unless you are an inexperienced volunteer who is currently just watching DRN to learn our processes, please take a case. If you do not see yourself taking cases in the foreseeable future, please remove yourself from the volunteer list so that we can have a better idea of the size of our pool of volunteers; if you do see yourself taking cases, please watchlist the DRN page and keep an eye out to see if there are cases which are ready for a volunteer. We have recently had to refuse a number of cases because they were listed for days with no volunteer willing to take them, despite there being almost 150 volunteers listed on the volunteer page. - I'm aware that this is an automated message, but at this point I'm still shadowing existing DRNers to learn strategies. I don't feel comfortable taking on a whole case quite yet. Thanks, /wia /tlk 20:05, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
The Special Barnstar | |
Hey wia, good to see another fellow Canadian around here. I've run into you whilst recent changes patrolling, and looking at your contributions you are quite a prolific editor! You make lots of minor, semi-automated edits, but don't let the "minor" get you down -- minor edits are often overlooked (even hated by some!), but they mean a lot to the encyclopedia. Normally I'd give you the "Minor Barnstar" for that, but you've also been helping out with anti-vandalism as well, and being a vandal fighter myself, I have high respect and a lot of admiration for Wikipedians like you and me. So take this special, shiny, dazzling barnstar as a reward for your hard work, which never goes unnoticed. At least, not by me. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 01:14, 21 November 2015 (UTC) |
- @K6ka: Nice to meet you, and thank you very much for the barnstar! It's always nice to meet another Canadian. I feel right at home making minor edits—an easy way to make Wikipedia a little better, one edit at a time. Looking forward to working with you in the future! /wia /tlk 01:24, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I understand that a large part of the submission was rejected/removed because some of it was taken directly from my husband's (Max Zimmer) website. I have two questions: would I be able to paraphrase the information that describes his work and then provide links as I did before, within the paragraphs, or do I need to use footnotes instead - for example - after the title of one of his books mentioned in the body, I would provide a footnote reference below. Please help, because I really want to share his bio and body of work with all. Also, would I be able to upload a photo of him? Thanks so much for your help!
Tonizimmer (talk) 14:13, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Tonizimmer: Hi, thanks for inquiring. The copyrighted material has been removed from the draft. You are welcome to paraphrase material from a copyrighted source, provided that you provide attribution whenever you do so and that the paraphrasing is not close to the original. As for references, you don't want to use external links within the body of the text. Instead, use footnotes whenever you make a substantive claim about the suject. (See WP:ILC for Wikipedia's policy on when to use inline citations.) Keep in mind that, in order to show that the subject is notable, you will have to find reliable, independent sources about Zimmer, not merely works by Zimmer.
- If you are the copyright-holder of a picture of Zimmer, then you may upload it. If you're not the copyright-holder of the picture, it's a bit trickier, but the short answer is that you probably can't upload that picture. (See WP:IUP for more details on Wikipedia's image use policy in that case.)
- Finally, there is a conflict of interest here as you are affiliated with the subject. Take a look at our conflict of interest policy, as COI editing is discouraged on Wikipedia. Thanks, /wia /tlk 14:21, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello, I was disappointed that you turned down Holiday Lovers. I believe it is notable because it was written by Leslie Arliss who is an important figure in British cinema, also it was the debut of George Benson who was a popular comedian.I have added a citation to. Leslie Halliwell's Film Guide.The. cast information is the most I could find, I've been through all the google entries and I can 't find any other citations so far.Atlantic306 (talk) 15:29, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Atlantic306: Hi, thanks for inquiring here. The Articles for creation process is iterative, meaning that you're welcome to keep working on the draft even after a decline (or multiple declines!). Another source is a good start, and you may be able to find more coverage by searching in the Google Newspaper Archive, on JSTOR, or through another source. Try looking through these to start: Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL.
- While it is true that Leslie Arliss is probably notable, notability isn't automatically inherited. One of the film notability guidelines states that "Some inclusionary criteria to consider are... [whether] the film features significant involvement (i.e., one of the most important roles in the making of the film) by a notable person and is a major part of his/her career". (Emphasis mine.) Right now I'm not sure that Arliss' and Benson's contributions to Holiday Lovers were a major part of their career. That's something that more referencing might help with. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with! /wia /tlk 15:36, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for replying, I've already been through those references although I am trying to find a review from 1932.I think you are interpreting the notability rule too strictly for example is Jean Claude. Van Damme very notable yet every one of his films has a page, there are thousands more examples of non notable films that have a wiki page. Can I appeal your decision and are you the sole reviewer of my page going forward. ThanksAtlantic306 (talk) 15:56, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Atlantic306: Hi, next time you submit the draft, another reviewer will come along. That keeps the process bias-free and ensures that you get different perspectives on your draft!
- Jean-Claude Van Damme is a notable person because he meets the WP:BIO notability criteria as well as the actor notability criteria, by virtue of having "had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions". It's not always fruitful to compare a draft to an existing article, however, since sometimes articles slip through the cracks. The best way forward for your draft is simply to follow the film notability policy itself. Thanks, /wia /tlk 16:00, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Atlantic306: Congratulations on the article acceptance, and thank you for your contributions! /wia /tlk 01:44, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
