Wish is an upcoming American animated musical film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The 62nd animated film produced by the studio, the film is directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, written by Jennifer Lee, and produced by Peter Del Vecho and Juan Pablo Reyes. It stars Ariana DeBose and focuses on a girl who makes a passionate plea to the stars.
Wish is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 22, 2023, by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
Premise
A 17-year-old girl named Asha senses a darkness in her kingdom that no one else does, leading to a passionate plea to the stars in a moment of need. An actual star from the sky named Star answers Asha's wish.[1][2]

Production
On September 9, 2022, during the 2022 D23 Expo Presentation, Walt Disney Animation Studios announced a new film titled Wish, with Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn directing and Peter Del Vecho and Juan Pablo Reyes producing. It is also announced that the art style combines Disney's classic watercolor animation and computer animation, which the company utilizes in its modern period. That same day, Ariana DeBose and Alan Tudyk were announced to have been cast in the leading roles of Asha and Valentino, respectively.[3]

Julia Michaels will write the original songs for Wish.[4]

Wish is scheduled to be released on November 22, 2023.[5]
