Consequentialist libertarianism

A consequentalist libertarian is one who advocates libertarian principles because it benefits the majority of the population. This is contrasted to rights libertarians who believe in strict natural rights.

Milton Friedman and David D. Friedman are consequentalist libertarians, who use utilitarian arguments to justify libertarian philosophies.
